One person has been killed and another wounded, in a shooting attack close to the town of Dolev in the Binyamin region, north of Jerusalem. Paramedics and a large team of IDF security forces – including at least one military helicopter – arrived at the scene after responding to reports that terrorists had opened fire on an Israeli vehicle at 4:15 p.m. Friday afternoon. The fatally shot victim has been identified as a 25-year-old resident of central Israel. He was initially evacuated by helicopter from the scene and transferred to Tel Hashomer hospital unconscious and in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards. The second victim was evacuated by ambulance to Tel Hashomer, with gunshot wounds to his limbs; his condition is light-to-moderate condition. According investigators, the two victims were finishing a trip to a nearby spring and had begun leaving when a Palestinian standing at the side of the road waved them down, apparently asking for help. As soon as the Israelis’ car pulled up he asked them for water, and then shot them at point-blank range and fled the scene.

Headline: Report: Turkey, Israel resume reconciliation talks at secret Rome meeting
According to Haaretz, Israel’s Foreign Minister director general Dore Gold and Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioğlu, who is responsible for ties with Israel in the government, met in Rome after Gold left for Rome “secretly.” The report said the Israeli official did not make his plans known to either National Security Advisor Yossi Cohen, nor the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office’s special envoy to Turkey, Joseph Ciechanover, who has handled ties with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government for five years, and kept lines of communication open with Sinirlioğlu. The report also quoted a senior Israeli official as saying that before Gold left for Rome, there was no official discussion on the status of negotiations with Turkey.

Detailed report from investigators led by American Mary McGowan Davis calls on Israel to release details regarding its ‘targeting decisions’ while questioning ‘lamentable track record.’ The United Nations Independent Commission of Inquiry on Operation Protective Edge was released on Monday, saying Israel and Palestinian groups both committed abuses in the Gaza war that may amount to war crimes while also citing a press release from Hamas’ military spokesperson Abu Obeida, saying that, “In some instances, Palestinian armed groups in Gaza reportedly attempted to warn civilians in Israel of imminent attacks.” The report also suggested that Israel doesn’t do enough to investigate and punish alleged war crimes, saying that the Jewish nation must “break with its lamentable track record” and hold perpetrators accountable. Israel was called on to provide further details of its “targeting decisions” in the report, saying that this would allow for further independent assessment of its attack on Gaza. Investigators also took aim at Hamas in Gaza however, condemning the executions of alleged “collaborators” that amount to war crimes and demand that someone be held accountable.

Hezbollah and the Syrian army thwarted an ISIS attack in the northern Qalamoun Monday, killing a number of militants, Al-Manar TV reported. The station said an ISIS unit was attempting to infiltrate Hezbollah posts on the outskirts of the Syrian village of Jarajeer but were detected, leading to clashes. ISIS ended up losing two vehicles and an unspecified number of militants in the fighting, according to the Hezbollah-run station. Syrian military helicopters were also involved in the clashes, the report added. Further toward the west, on the southern outskirts of the Lebanese border town of Arsal, Hezbollah fighters used a wire-guided missile to destroy a militant vehicle equipped with a 33 mm machine gun, Al-Manar also reported. All militants inside the vehicle were killed.

A leaked diplomatic cable has revealed that Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to trade votes for spots on the UN Human Rights Council. In a document hosted by WikiLeaks as part of its staggered release of 500,000 files taken after an electronic attack on the Saudi Foreign Ministry, the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations proposed an “arrangement of reciprocal support to the candidature of the Government of Russia to the Human Rights Council on the understanding that the Government of Russia would also extend its valuable support to the candidature of Saudi Arabia” in the elections to the body held in May 2013. Both countries have been criticised for human rights abuses in the past and the revelations in the cables have confirmed for some commentators the irregularity of the UNHRC’s selection process. “Ever wondered how the world’s worst regimes get on the UN Human Rights Council?” questioned executive director of UN Watch in Geneva, Hillel Neuer, on Twitter. “Now we know.” Though Saudi Arabia and Russia have often been at odds internationally – most notably backing different sides in the Syrian Civil War – the two countries have worked in tandem in other areas.

Headline: Egypt names first Israel envoy in three years
Egypt on Sunday appointed a new ambassador to Israel to fill a post that had been vacant since ousted Islamist president Mohammad Mursi recalled the previous envoy in 2012.
State news agency MENA said that Hazem Khairat, a former ambassador to Chile, was appointed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. It did not say when he will take up his post.
Khairat’s appointment was immediately “deeply” welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “We’ve been informed by the government of Egypt that it is dispatching an ambassador to Israel. This is an important piece of news, we appreciate it,” Netanyahu said in Jerusalem. “It’s something that is deeply welcome in Israel, and I think it’s very good for cementing the peace that exists between Egypt and Israel,” he said at a joint news conference with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius. Egypt was the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. Jordan followed suit in 1994.

Syria Headline: Israeli Druze attack Israeli ambulance carrying injured Syrians
Leaders of the Jabal Druze and southern Syrian Druze community have reached a mutual non-belligerence understanding with heads of the Syrian rebel militias fighting in the region, including Al Qaeda’s arm, the Nusra Front. This is reported exclusively by debkafile’s military and intelligence sources. The United States and the King of Jordan gave the Druze guarantees that the deal struck Friday, June 10 would be honored. There and then, our sources add, Jordanian opened up a cross-border corridor to supply the half million dwellers of the Druze mountain villages with military assistance and essential supplies. debkafile has obtained the four main points of thes deal:
- The Syrian Druze and anti-Assad rebel forces fighting under the Jordan-based joint command are committed to refrain from attacking the other party’s positions or places of habitation.
- The Syrian rebel forces [battling Assad government forces] pledge not to enter or attack Druze villages on the Golan including Al Khader.
- The Druze pledge not to permit Syrian government military and intelligence units based in their territory to operate their bases or use them for intelligence surveillance. The Druze village of Al Khader, for example, houses a Syrian air force surveillance base, which communicates directly with Syrian operational intelligence. The Druze will make sure to put it out of action.
- The eight Druze militias loyal to Bashar Assad or tied to his regime and army will not be allowed to operate from southern Druze territory.
All day Friday, Arab sources reported Israeli Air Force activity taking place over Syrian and Lebanese air space. Shortly before midnight, air strikes were claimed to have been conducted against targets inside Syria with no details. These reports were not confirmed.

Syria Headline: Suicide attack hit Kurdish security center in Syria’s Qamishli
On Sunday, a suicide attack hit the headquarters of the Asayish forces in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria. The attack, according to eyewitnesses, was carried out by a suicider wearing an explosive belt, who blew himself up in the Kurdish security center. “The attack killed a Kurdish security member and injured several others, as well as causing a huge damage in properties in the vicinity of the explosion area,” the Asayish administration in the city told ARA News. Activists accused militants of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) of being behind Qamishli’s attack. Following the attack, the Asayish forces closed all the roads leading to the explosion area in central Qamishli. Also on Sunday, the Media Center of Asayish reported the death of one of its members, Mohammed Alwan, when an IS-linked gunman opened fire against an Asayish patrol in the town of Chel Agha (Jawadiya) in the province of Hasakah. “The Asayish forces were searching for some IS-linked wanted men from the village of Kardim near the town of Chel Agha,” the statement added. “The attacker was finally shot dead when our forces failed to capture him,” the source said, without providing further information about the rest of the IS-linked wanted men.

Kurdish Headline: Kurds find ISIS tunnel near Turkish border
Kurdish forces have discovered a 400-meter (440-yard) long tunnel dug by ISIS militants near the Turkish border with Syria, a spokesman for the militia said Monday. Kurdish People’s Protection Units, or YPG, discovered the half-completed tunnel after they captured the border town of Tal Abyad last week, spokesman Redur Khalil said. He said it wasn’t clear whether it was eventually meant to lead into Turkey as the tunnel splits into two different directions at one point. A tunnel linking Turkey to ISIS-held territory might offer some insight into the many ways in which Muslim radicals from around the world have slipped across the Turkish border to reach the fanatical group, whose territory straddles Syria and Iraq.

Headline: Chechen jihadist group with 15,000 fighters pledges allegiance to ISIL
A Chechen terror organization which boasts “as many as 15,000” fighters has pledged its loyalty to Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). The Caucuses Emirate is responsible for over 900 attacks in Russia since 2007 and includes extremists from Chechnya, Daghestan and Ingushetia. We need to hurry up and unite so we can cut off the heads of the infidels,” the group’s leader, Aslan Byutukayev, said in a new propaganda video. Professor Gordon Hahn of the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program said the Caucuses Emirate could furnish ISIL with thousands of new fighters. “The entire CE [Caucuses Emirate] insurgency and terrorist movement may be estimated to number some 15,200 soldiers, leaders and facilitators,” Hahn wrote in his book The Caucasus Emirate Mujahedin. ISIL may add several thousand more fighters if a recently released video entitled “Soon, Soon” proves to be true. In the video, an unknown organization called “ISIL Tunisia Province” said it planned to set up a base and supply ISIL with 3,000 jihadi soldiers.

Turkey has warned the United States and Western powers of red lines when it comes to the Kurds and their military advances against Islamic extremists in northern Syria, including a firm position the Kurds must not threaten the territorial integrity of Syria by seeking their own autonomous Kurdish State. There should also be no demographic changes or population shifts on the Syrian side of the border as a result of Kurdish military offensives against Islamic State (IS) militants, also known as ISIL, according to a policy document reportedly approved by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The document was drafted during two high-level security meetings at Turkey’s foreign ministry, after Kurdish fighters captured the Syrian border town of Tal Abyad from the Islamic State last week. “No one can act in their own interest just because they are fighting ISIL…. The demographic structure of the region cannot be changed through a fait accompli,” states one section of the document leaked to Turkey’s Hurriyet newspaper.

Headline: Saudi top secret memo says Iran bombed South Sudan
Top secret Saudi documents published by Wikileaks Friday reveal intrigue surrounding politics in the Middle East, making claims about Iranian military involvement in South Sudan as well claiming Gulf countries considered buying freedom for Egypt’s ousted strongman Hosni Mubarak to the tune of $10 billion. WikiLeaks has so far published roughly 60,000 documents, of which The Associated Press has only been able to authenticate a handful. But the organization has a long track record of hosting large leaks of government material and insists the latest batch is genuine. Saudi officials have not explicitly challenged the authenticity of the documents and Saudi diplomats have not answered repeated requests for comment. One memo, marked “top secret,” makes the startling claim that Iranian fighter jets bombed South Sudanese forces during a 2012 standoff over the oil-rich area of Heglig. AP noted there are many such hard-to-confirm stories in the Saudi documents. According to the documents, Saudis kept a watchful eye on Iran’s friends, real or perceived. One 2012 memo warned that Iran was getting “flirting American messages” suggesting that the U.S. had no objections to a peaceful Iranian nuclear program so long as it had guarantees, “possibly Russian ones.” Another memo, dated to 2012, accuses the United Arab Emirates of helping Russia and Iran circumvent international sanctions.

With some lawmakers chanting “Death to the America,” Iran’s parliament voted to ban access to military sites, documents and scientists as part of a future deal with world powers over its contested nuclear program. The bill, if ratified, could complicate the ongoing talks in Vienna between Iran and the six-nation group — the U.S., Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany — as they face a self-imposed June 30 deadline. The talks are focused on reaching a final accord that curbs Iran’s nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions.

Headline: Afghans counter Taliban offensive in northern Kunduz province
Government forces in northern Afghanistan have launched a counter-offensive against the Taliban, after they took control of a key district. Chardara is just a few kilometres from the city of Kunduz, and a major road to the capital Kabul runs through it. A Taliban website showed militants parading around a well-fortified police post they had seized. The government says it has regained control of another northern district, Yumgan in Badakshan province. Chardara local official Muhammad Yusuf Ayubi told AFP news agency that the district had fallen to the Taliban after hours of fighting, adding that 12 soldiers had died and 17 were wounded. Last month tens of thousands of people were displaced after the Taliban moved into the same area. The government believes that there are many foreign fighters allied to Islamic State fighting alongside the Taliban here.

Headline: Taliban attack Afghan parliament, seize 2 districts in north
A Taliban suicide bomber and six gunmen attacked the Afghan parliament on Monday as lawmakers met to consider a new defense minister, and another district in the volatile north fell to the militants as they intensified a summer offensive. Monday’s attack, in which at least 19 people were wounded, began as lawmakers met with the new acting defense minister, Masoom Stanikzai, the third candidate so far for the key security post whose appointment must be confirmed by parliament. A Taliban fighter detonated a car loaded with explosives outside parliament gates, said Ebadullah Karimi, spokesman for Kabul police, raising questions about how the driver got through several security checkpoints. Six gunmen took up positions in a building near parliament, he said, but never breached the compound’s gates. Security forces killed the six after a gun battle lasting nearly two hours. Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said all lawmakers were safe. TV pictures showed the speaker sitting calmly and legislators leaving the building, engulfed in dust and smoke, without panicking.
Four women were among the 19 people wounded, said Sayed Kabir Amiri, a health official who coordinates Kabul hospitals. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility. A district in the northern province of Kunduz fell to the Taliban on Monday, the second such loss in two days. Officials said the militants were able to take over when urgently needed reinforcements failed to arrive. The Taliban captured Dasht-e-Archi district a day after hundreds of militants fought their way to the center of the adjacent district of Chardara.

Headline: Leaks allege assassination plot hatched by Egypt and Sudan
Egypt and Sudan collaborated in a plot to assassinate the president of South Sudan after the country secured independence in 2011, according to a document allegedly leaked from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A document released on Friday by WikiLeaks, part of the first batch of 500,000 set to be published in the coming weeks, appears to show that the Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud al-Faisal, wrote to the Saudi king, who also serves as the prime minister, about the plan to kill Salva Kiir Mayardit. Kiir led the government of southern Sudan until the secession of South Sudan from the north in 2011, when he became president – the leaked letter is not dated, but refers to the statesman as “the president of South Sudan”. According to the document text, Egypt’s intelligence apparatus sent “three of its most dangerous agents” to stay in the upmarket Khartoum district of Garden City. “The aim of sending them to Khartoum is to formulate a joint plan with the Sudanese intelligence for the elimination and assassination” of Kiir and some of his aides, Faisal allegedly wrote. The letter, which is not marked as confidential, ends with a plea for the Saudi prime minister to “examine” the contents of the document. The Egyptian and Sudanese authorities have not given any official statement about the allegations.

Headline: Tripoli forces hit Islamic State in Libya with air strikes
Libya’s self-declared government in control of the capital Tripoli has launched air strikes on Islamic State fighters in the city of Sirte, officials and witnesses said on Monday. Officials said the late Sunday night attacks were on a building where fighters had gathered, but gave no details of casualties. Witnesses reported they were accurate and said wounded militants had been taken to hospital. Fighters allied to Islamic State commanders in Iraq and Syria have been gaining ground in Libya, where two rival governments are battling for control and militants have taken advantage of the security vacuum. Islamist State has gained ground in cities like Sirte and Derna to the east, challenging local armed groups and government forces alike. “Warplanes of the air force of the National Salvation government conducted air strikes last night on an internal security building in Sirte,” ministry of defense spokesman Mohamed Abdulkafi said by phone, referring to the Tripoli government. “The strikes targeted a gathering of militants of Islamic State. No figures of casualties from the strikes have been reported so far,” he said. An eyewitness said the bombs hit a former headquarters of former ruler Muammar Gaddafi’s security forces in Sirte.

Headline: Thousands march in Armenia against price hikes
Some 4,000 Armenians took to the streets of the ex-Soviet republic’s capital Monday to protest against the government’s decision to hike electricity prices, an AFP journalist reported. Chanting “No to robbery!” and “Don’t slip your hands into our pockets,” protesters marched from Yerevan’s central Freedom Square toward the presidential palace where they were met by police cordons. Protesters accused President Serzh Sarkisian’s government of hiking power tariffs and failing to stem poverty in the landlocked Caucasus nation. A country of 3.2 million, Armenia has been badly affected by the economic crisis in Russia. Exports to Russia have fallen, as have remittances from Armenians working there. On Monday, EU foreign ministers agreed to prolong damaging economic sanctions against Russia until January 2016 over Moscow’s role in the Ukrainian crisis. In January, Armenia joined the Russia-led Eurasian Customs Union, further increasing Yerevan’s dependence on its former imperial master. The ex-Soviet country is economically isolated as its borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan are blocked due to ongoing international disputes.

Al Shabaab, al Qaeda’s official branch in Somalia, claims to have ambushed and killed more than 60 Ethiopian troops in southern Somalia last week. The claim has not yet been independently confirmed by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and the Ethiopian government has yet to release a statement about the attack. The statement from Shabaab’s media office, which has been translated by the SITE Intelligence Group, says that the “highly successful ambush carried out by a company of Mujahideen fighters from the ‘Sheikh Abu Zubayr Battalion’ began on Thursday (June 11) afternoon.” The battalion identified in the statement is named after the former emir of Al Shabaab, who was killed in a US drone strike last year. The jihadist group continues by saying that the unit destroyed 13 vehicles and killed dozens of soldiers in the Ethiopian convoy after “mowing them down with machine guns.” Shabaab claims that this ambush caused many in the Ethiopian ranks to retreat, leaving behind military hardware and “many of their comrades.” When the Ethiopian contingent sent reinforcements to the area the next morning, Shabaab said that it targeted the convoy “with a martyrdom operation,” or suicide bombing. The jihadists claimed to have destroyed many more vehicles and killed several more Ethiopian troops in this attack.

Headline: 30 dead after 2 girls blow selves up near northeast Nigeria mosque
Two girls blew themselves up on Monday near a crowded mosque in northeast Nigeria’s biggest city, killing about 30 people, witnesses said. It is the fourth suicide bombing this month in Maiduguri, which is the birthplace of the Boko Haram Islamic extremist group. Fishmonger Idi Idrisa said one teenager exploded as she approached the mosque crowded with people from the nearby Baga Road fish market, performing afternoon prayers during the holy month of Ramadan. The second teen appeared to run away and blew up further away, killing only herself, he said. Civilian defense fighter, Sama Ila Abu, said he counted at least 30 corpses as he helped to collect the dead. Both men said said there were many injured being sent to the hospitals. Boko Haram has kidnapped hundreds and hundreds of girls and women and the numbers of female suicide bombers has raised fears that it is using the captives in its campaign. A military bomb disposal expert has told the AP that most bombs carried by girls and women have remote devices, meaning the carrier cannot control the explosion.

Holding banners saying “End Austerity Now” and “Defy Tory Rule”, protesters had marched from the Bank of England in the heart of London’s financial district, in a rally which organizers said drew several hundred thousand people. Police declined to estimate numbers for the event, which featured speeches from celebrities such as singer Charlotte Church and comedian Russell Brand as well as trade unionists and Labour Party leadership contender Jeremy Corbyn. “Everyone from up and down the country is here because they have had enough of austerity, cuts and privatization,” university scientist Gareth Hardy told Reuters Video News. Similar protests took place in Glasgow and Liverpool.

Headline: Car bomb explodes in Sanaa near Houthi mosque, 2 dead
ISIS said it was behind a car bomb that exploded in Yemen’s capital Sanaa Saturday near the Qiba al-Mahdi mosque, killing two people and wounding six others, witnesses and a security source told Reuters. The group said in a statement published on militant Twitter accounts that the attack was targeting the Houthi militia, whose fighters have used the mosque, located in the old city of Sanaa. On Wednesday the Sunni Muslim jihadi group claimed responsibility for four car bombs that detonated near mosques used by the Houthis and the group’s headquarters in Sanaa, killing two and injuring around 60 people. Two coalition air raids early on Saturday hit the al-Dulaimi air base near Sanaa’s international airport, while several others targeted Saada in northern Yemen and areas near the border with Saudi Arabia, witnesses and the Houthis said.

Wars & Rumors of Wars Matthew 24:6 , Revelation 6:3-4 & Revelation 6:8 “ And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. Prophecy Sign: Weapons of Mass Destruction Zechariah 14:12 “And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.”
Headline: Russia warns Sweden it will face military action if it joins Nato
Russia would take military “countermeasures” if Sweden were to join Nato, according to the Russian ambassador. In an interview with Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, Viktor Tatarinstev warned against joining the Nato alliance, saying there would be “consequences”. Decrying what he called an “aggressive propaganda campaign” by the media, Tatarinstev stressed that “Sweden is not a target for our armed troops”. But with a recent surge of Swedish support for joining Nato, the ambassador said: “If it happens, there will be counter measures. “Putin pointed out that there will be consequences, that Russia will have to resort to a response of the military kind and re-orientate our troops and missiles. “The country that joins Nato needs to be aware of the risks it is exposing itself to.”

Scorching Sun Isaiah30:26 , Revelation 16:8-9 & Revelation 7:16, Malachi 4:1 “Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people And heals the stroke of their wound.” (Isaiah 30:26) “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” (Revelation 16:8-9) “Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.” ( Revelation 7: 16) “For behold, the day is coming,Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. Headline: At least 10 wildfires rage on in four states
Wildfires have destroyed more than 45,000 acres in the West this week. At least ten major fires are burning in Arizona, California, Oregon and Alaska. One of the biggest is in the San Bernardino Mountains, east of Los Angeles. Helicopters are attacking the 11,000-acre fire from above, as hundreds of firefighters battle it on the ground. About 400 campers and residents were ordered to evacuate the heavily-wooded area. Further north in California, a wildfire in the Sierra National Forest south of Yosemite National Park has grown to over 500 acres. For now, the fire threatens few buildings but it destroyed Roy McCain’s home. “It’s a loss. Everything I have is gone,” McCain told CBS News. Even in Alaska fire season has started with a vengeance. The 7,000-acre Sockeye Fire burned right across the Parks Highway, between Anchorage and Fairbanks. With conditions so dry after four years of drought, work to prevent wildfires is particularly urgent this year. North of San Francisco, work crews have been busy where forest grows to the edge of densely-populated towns. Watershed manager Carl Sanders told CBS News his primary concern is dead and dying trees, and overgrown brush, which he refers to as “fuel load.” In preparation for a worst-case fire season, California has added two additional large air tankers to its fleet and hired 300 extra firefighters.

Headline: Heatwave in Pakistan’s Sindh province leaves 224 dead
Some 224 people are now believed to have died during a heatwave in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province. Health officials say most of the deaths have been in the largest city, Karachi, which has experienced temperatures as high as 45C (113F) in recent days. The city has seen power cuts caused by an increased demand for electricity because of the extreme weather. Many of the victims are elderly people who have been suffering from fever, dehydration and gastric problems. Hundreds of patients suffering from the effects of the heatwave are being treated at government hospitals, provincial health secretary Saeed Mangnejo said. Local media report that more than 150 bodies have been taken since Saturday to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth, which usually receives about 20 bodies a day.
