Judge Orders Defiant Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Be Released From Jail, Mandates What She ‘Shall Not’ Do
The judge who ordered defiant Kentucky clerk Kim Davis to jail last week for refusing to issue gay marriage licenses has subsequently ordered her release from the custody of the U.S. Marshal. “Defendent Davis shall be released from the custody of the U.S. Marshal forthwith,” read an order from U.S. District Judge David Bunning, according to BuzzFeed. “Defendant Davis shall not interfere in any way, directly or indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.” The five clerks who had begun to issue gay marriage licenses in the wake of Davis’ arrest last week will continue to do so, and will provide a status report every 14 days in an effort to ensure that all proper and legal licensing is unfolding.

Headline: Abbas Wants UN, EU to Urge Israel to Let Palestinians Fleeing Syria Into West Bank
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas called on the United Nations Saturday to press Israel to allow Palestinians effected by violence in Syria to take shelter in Judea and Samaria. “President Abbas has asked the Palestinian representative to the UN to implement as quickly as possible, in coordination with the UN secretary general, measures for the return of Palestinian refugees from Syria to the Palestinian territories,” his office said. According to UN statistics, there are 525,000 Palestinian “refugees” living in Syria, most of whom are displaced due to the ongoing civil war. The term “refugees” in this context refers to the descendants of Arabs who fled Israel during the 1948 War of Independence; only Palestinian “refugees” are granted hereditary status by the UN, in contrast to other refugees including Jews who fled their homes during the same conflict, or were subsequently ethnically-cleansed by Arab regimes. Abbas’s demand comes two years after he rejected an offer made by Israel to allow Palestinian refugees in Syria to flee to PA-held areas and Hamas-controlled Gaza – on condition they gave up their claim to “right of return” to other parts of Israel. ***see Hijrah belowSeptember 5, 2015

Headline: EU Soon to Decide on Labeling ‘Settlement’ Produce
The European Union will soon render its decision on whether to label goods produced by Jews in Judea and Samaria. Speaking at the conclusion of a summit of European foreign ministers in Luxembourg, EU foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini said a special committee would soon submit its conclusions on the issue. “The work of the committee dealing with the issue is coming to a close – these are the last steps before we submit the conclusions,” she said. Luxembroug’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn said that in his opinion labeling Jewish-made goods produced across the Green Line was an important policy. “We are not talking about an attempt to boycott Israel,” he cautioned, claiming the move was instead intended to “provide information to the consumer to choose for himself if he is interested in buying produce from the settlements.” September 5, 2015

Headline: UN Invites Quartet, Arab Countries to Restart Israel-PA Talks
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has invited Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to a meeting this month of the Middle East Quartet seeking a diplomatic solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The foreign ministers of the three Arab countries will join their counterparts from Russia, the United States and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini for the talks on September 30, the UN spokesman said Friday, according to AFP. The secretary general of the Arab League will also attend the meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly gathering of world leaders. The invitation follows a decision by the Quartet in February to include Arab countries in the diplomatic effort to restart the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. Speaking in Luxembourg earlier, Mogherini said the European Union had “revitalized the work of the Quartet” and voiced hope that this could help “re-open prospective and political horizons to the talks.” September 5, 2015

Headline: Palestinians call day of rage after firebombing victim dies
Palestinians called for a “day of rage” throughout the West Bank in response to the death of Riham Dawabsha, who succumbed overnight to wounds she suffered in a firebomb attack on her home on July 31. Dawabsha died at the Tel Hashomer hospital, near Tel Aviv, where she was treated for burns to 90 percent of her body, inflicted in the attack on her family home in the West Bank village of Duma. It was her 27th birthday. Palestinian protests were called for Tuesday and Israeli security forces were placed on alert after news of Dawabsha’s death was released by the hospital. Dawabsha was left fighting for her life for the past five weeks after assailants hurled firebombs through the window of the family home, killing her 18-month-old son, Ali, on the spot. Her husband Saad was also critically wounded and died days later. The family’s second son, five-year-old Ahmed, is being treated at Tel Hashomer for massive burns. Palestine Liberation Organization Secretary General Saeb Erekat pleaded for international intervention Monday, saying in a statement that the Israeli government is to be held to account for the “martyrdom” of Riham Dawabsha, her son and her husband. Headline: Will Abbas Nullify the Oslo Accords?
Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas is planning to nullify the 1993 Oslo Accords, the Walla! Hebrew-language news website reported Sunday. The report cited senior PA official said Ahmed Majdalani, who was quoted as having told PA-based media that the decision will be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the Palestine National Council (PNC) in Ramallah (originally scheduled for Sept. 15, but postponed- see 2nd link) , and Abbas will officially announce it at the UN General Assembly later this month. According to Majdalani, Abbas will say at the UN that since Israel did not comply with the Oslo Accords and did not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state, the PA is no longer committed to the agreements. The Oslo Accords created the PA, which was tasked with governing over parts of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. As part of the accords, Israel also acknowledged that the PLO is its partner in permanent status negotiations about remaining issues. September 7, 2015

Syria Headline: Russian submarine with 20 ICBMs and 200 nuclear warheads is sailing to Syria
New images have come to light which appear to confirm previous reports of Russian “boots on the ground” in Syria, aiding Bashar al-Assad’s overstretched forces defend regime strongholds from advancing rebel armies. The pictures appear to be taken in a variety of locations in western Syria, including Homs and the key port city of Tartus. They show Russian fighters posing with weapons in front of Russian and Syria flags, and portraits of the countries’ respective leaders Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad. The latest pictures follow a mounting video evidence and eye-witness testimony of Russia’s increased direct military intervention on behalf of its embattled Syrian allies, even as the United States continues to hesitate over its own stance towards the conflict. A recent video released by the pro-regime National Defense Forces militia during clashes with rebels near Latakia includes the distinct sound of voices given orders in Russian to the gunner in a Russian-made BTR-82A fighting vehicle. The presence of Russian soldiers fighting on the front lines is a new and potentially game-changing development, which further complicates things for western powers hoping for Assad’s ouster. It also reveals the degree to which Assad’s own forces – including the Syrian army and special forces, and an array of indigenous and foreign pro-regime militias – are struggling to cope with resurgent rebel forces in the both the north and south of the country. Syria Headline: Syrian Druse stand between ISIS and Israeli border, Druse sheikh warns
Anti-government violence spread on Saturday in a southern Syrian province that had largely stayed on the sidelines of the country’s civil war, a day after the killing of a prominent cleric in rare explosions that claimed the lives of at least 25 others, activists and pro-government media said. Balous, who was a strong supporter of rebels trying to topple Assad, died Friday in one of two consecutive car bomb explosions, including one near the National Hospital in Sweida city. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of activists on the ground in Syria, and other activist groups said rioters destroyed the statute of late Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad in Sweida city and besieged security offices, holding the government responsible for the cleric’s death. The Observatory said the death toll rose to 37, including six security personnel killed in clashes with rioters. The city had witnessed large rallies in the days before explosion against the failure of the government to provide basic services. Activists reported that there was no internet service for the past few days. Meanwhile, Israeli Druse leaders told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday that the southern Syrian Druse city of Sweida serves as the last barrier separating Islamic State from Israeli territory on the Golan Heights. If Islamic State gets past Sweida, it puts Jordan and the Israeli border areas at risk, Israeli Druse spiritual leader Sheikh Maufak Tarif told the Post. September 7, 2015

Syria Headline: Islamic State takes Syrian state’s last oilfield: monitor
Islamic State fighters have seized the last major oilfield under Syrian government control during battles over a vast central desert zone, a group monitoring the conflict said on Monday. The Jazal field (red circle on map) was now shut down and clashes were ongoing east of Homs, with casualties reported on both sides, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, without giving dates or more details. Syria’s army said it had repulsed an attack in the same area but did not mention Jazal or comment on how much of the country’s battered energy infrastructure remained under its sway. It said it killed 25 fighters, including non-Syrian jihadists. “The regime has lost the last oilfield in Syria,” said the Observatory, which tracks violence through a network of sources on the ground. Commentators on social media said fighting had surged in the last two to three days and the rebels had taken the oilfield on Sunday. Jazal is a medium-sized field that lies to the north west of the rebel-held ancient city of Palmyra, close to a region that holds Syria’s main natural gas fields and multi-million-dollar extraction facilities. Iraq Headline: Iraqi defense minister escapes assassination attempt
Iraq’s defense minister escaped a sniper attack north of Baghdad unharmed Monday, officials said, though one of his guards was wounded in the shooting near Islamic State-controlled territory. The attack targeted Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi as he traveled in a convoy near the contested oil refinery town of Beiji, a ministry statement said. One guard was wounded, the statement said, without elaborating. The Islamic State group holds about a third of Iraq and neighboring Syria in its self-declared “caliphate.” Beiji, home to the country’s biggest refinery, has been under near-constant assault since Islamic State militants swept into Iraq last year, though authorities said they liberated the town in November. Headline: 47 fighters die in clashes near Turkey border
At least 47 fighters were killed in clashes between ISIS and rival Syrian rebels, a monitor said on Saturday, in an area where the United States and Turkey are planning to open a new front against ISIS militants. The renewed fighting raged on Friday around the rebel-held town of Marea, 20 km from the Turkish border, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The area falls within a “safe zone” Turkey said last month it would set up in northern Syria to help keep ISIS at bay. ISIS said late Friday it had waged a fresh assault on Marea, killing “dozens” of Syrian rebels fighting against it. The group last week encircled Marea, taking several villages around the town, in a blow to rebels who are likely partners for Ankara and Washington in any ground campaign. A loss of Marea would make it harder for Turkey and the United States to open a new front against ISIS. ***see also August 28, 2015 news September 5, 2015

Kurdish militants attacked a convoy of Turkish troops Sunday near the borders with Iran and Iraq, putting hopes for peace even further out of reach. Guerrillas from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party – the PKK – say they killed 15 solders when they fired on two military vehicles in Hakkari province. The death toll has not been independently confirmed. Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu hurried back to Ankara from the city of Konya for an emergency meeting with his security team. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a television interview that “a new strategy will be adopted in the fight against (PKK) terror. We’ll continue with determination.” Sunday’s attack by the Kurds may be the deadliest since July, when violence by both sides wrecked a 2-year-old cease-fire. September 6, 2015

Headline: Iran to Supply Natural Gas to Europe via Spain
Iran and Spain have signed a deal which would allow the Islamic Republic to supply oil to European countries via Spain. The agreement was formalized in Tehran Monday during a visit by a delegation representing 70 Spanish companies, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported. It comes one day after Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh met with Spain’s Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria López, and announced the two countries’ intention to facilitate the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Iran’s South Pars field to Europe. European businesses are lining up for lucrative trade deals with Iran, following the recently-declared deal with western powers over its nuclear program. Under the nuclear deal, crippling sanctions on the Iranian economy will be lifted to the tune of billions of dollars, in exchange for a limited rollback of Iran’s nuclear program. September 7, 2015

Headline: Arab separatists claim attack on Iran oil facility
A militant Arab separatist has claimed to have attacked an oil facility in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, while Iranian outlets have stayed silent on the incident. The Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz (ASMLA) published a video Sunday showing a large explosion ripping through the night sky over what the organization claimed to be an oil facility in the town of Behbahan. The group’s armed wing had issued a statement on September 3 claiming an attack on the petroleum installation, the latest attack by the Arab party since unrest hit the oil-rich region in March. “The Moheiddine Al Nasser Martyr Brigades carried out a large special operation at dawn on Thursday that targeted the oil installations near the city of Arjan (Behbahan), inflicting heavy material and economic losses on the Persian occupation,” the statement said. ASMLA added that the operation came “at the moment when some thought the Persian occupation’s state had come out victorious, or at least undefeated, in its struggle with the international community over its nuclear program and the souls of our innocent Arab brothers in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.” The separatist group on April 1 announced that anti-Tehran Arab groups had “stepped up armed operations targeting the Iranian Revolutionary [Guards]” in the southwestern region of Iran. ASMLA claimed in the early spring that the “Ahvazi national resistance” has conducted seven attacks against Iranian security forces since March 19, leaving a number of security officers dead. Iranian press outlets confirmed one of the attacks, but did not report that it was conducted by Arab separatists, saying instead than an investigation has been launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators. On May 17, the group’s military wing attacked a governorate administrative office in Susangerd in an operation acknowledged by Rahyab News, which reported that “unidentified people” had set the building alight before opening fire on it after which they fled the scene. Headline: Afghan blast wounds 3 children, alleged poisoning sickens 35 others
An air attack killed at least 11 Afghan police officers in the volatile and opium-rich southern province of Helmand, officials said Monday, but there were conflicting claims over who carried out the bombardment. The Afghan interior ministry spokesman said the strike on Sunday during a police operation against drug smugglers was carried out by NATO forces, which rejected the claim in a statement. Afghanistan’s own air force also has the capability to carry out aerial attacks, but both the force and the defence ministry declined to comment. “Eleven counter-narcotics police were killed and four others were wounded in an air strike carried out by international forces in Garmsir district of Helmand province,” deputy interior ministry spokesman Najib Danish told AFP. A Helmand police department official gave a higher death toll, saying 14 bodies had so far been recovered from the site of the bombardment. But a NATO spokesman said there were no coalition airstrikes in Helmand on Sunday, adding that there was one in neighbouring Kandahar province to “eliminate threats to the force”. September 7, 2015

Headline: Seven Libyan soldiers killed fighting off Islamists near Benghazi: source
At least seven Libyan soldiers were killed repelling an attack on their post by Islamist militants eight km (five miles) southwest of the eastern city of Benghazi on Monday, a military source told Reuters. The troops belonged to the Libyan National Army (LNA), which supports the internationally recognized government, and were trying to prevent fighters loyal to Islamic State capturing tanks in the town of Annawaghia. Benghazi is one front in Libya’s complex conflict involving two rival governments, their allied armed factions, and Islamist militants who have gained a foothold in the chaos that prevails four years after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi. “The forces of the Libyan National Army confronted the militants early this morning and forced them to withdraw,” the source said. The TAP report on Sunday said unidentified militants planned to attack “sensitive sites” in the city with car bombs and explosive belts. The report cited an unnamed Interior Ministry official. It added that police had banned traffic on Bourguiba Avenue in the heart of downtown and nearby streets to prevent attacks. There have also been increased police patrols and raids around the capital and its suburbs. Headline: Azerbaijan Starts War Games as Tension With Armenia Escalates
Azerbaijan began large-scale military drills as tension escalated with neighboring Armenia over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. After four Armenian and two Azeri soldiers died in a flare-up of violence last week, Azerbaijan deployed 65,000 soldiers, 700 armored vehicles and 90 aircraft to take part in the exercises, its Defense Ministry said on its website. The army also called up 6,000 reservists for the drills, which will continue until Sept. 13. Both sides accuse the other of escalating the conflict by using artillery and other heavy weapons, and a resumption of large-scale fighting would threaten Azerbaijan’s energy industry. The country of 9.5 million is the ex-Soviet Union’s third-biggest oil producer and has attracted more than $50 billion in investments from BP Plc and its partners since 1994. Armenians took over Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts from Azerbaijan in a war after the Soviet Union’s collapse in 1991 that killed 30,000 people and displaced more than a million. Major hostilities ended with a Russia-brokered cease-fire in 1994, but no peace agreement has been signed. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday in Moscow, the Kremlin said on its website. September 7, 2015
Headline: The Hijrah Into Europe
Headline: ISIS smuggler: ‘We will use refugee crisis to infiltrate West’
Approximately 104,460 asylum seekers arrived in Germany during the month of August, setting a new record. That makes 413,535 registered refugees and migrants coming to Germany in 2015 so far. The country expects a total of around 800,000 people to seek asylum in Germany this year. And that’s just Germany. The entire continent of Europe is being inundated with refugees at a rate unprecedented in world history. This is no longer just a “refugee crisis.” This is a hijrah (hej RA). Hijrah, or jihad by emigration, is, according to Islamic tradition, the migration or journey of Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Yathrib, later renamed by him to Medina, in the year 622 CE. To emigrate in the cause of Allah – that is, to move to a new land in order to bring Islam there, is considered in Islam to be a highly meritorious act. “And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many locations and abundance,” says the Qur’an (Chapter 4 sūrat l-nisāa) And now a hijrah of a much greater magnitude is upon us. Evidence that this is a hijrah, not simply a humanitarian crisis, came last February, but was little noted at the time and almost immediately forgotten. The Islamic State published a document entitled, “Libya: The Strategic Gateway for the Islamic State.” Gateway into Europe, that is: the document exhorted Muslims to go to Libya and cross from there as refugees into Europe. This document tells would-be jihadis that weapons from Gaddafi’s arsenal are plentiful and easy to obtain in Libya – and that the country “has a long coast and looks upon the southern Crusader states, which can be reached with ease by even a rudimentary boat.” “There is no emigration after the conquest (of Makkah) but only Jihad [(striving and fighting in the cause of Allah) will continue] and good intention. So if you are summoned to fight, go forth.” (Hadith Riyad-us-Saliheen) September 5, 2015

http://www.wnd.com/2015/09/isis-smuggler-we-will-use-refugee-crisis-to-infiltrate-west/
For complete accuracy let me be plain: most Muslims will probably tell you Hijrah simply means MIGRATION whereas Jihad means the religious duty of Muslims to maintain the religion. As you know, this has clearly changed. ***for understanding: The Quran is the Holy Book for Islam. Muslims believe this is the Word of God revealed in Arabic. There are ALSO Hadith: Qudsi & Nabawi (Qudsi is the Word of God spoken in the words of the prophet and Nabawi is the words of the prophet)
I would guess many Muslims are conflicted on the concept of Hijrah. At one point in their teaching, Hijrah- or simply MIGRATION- was mandatory. After the conquest of Mecca, the Quran gives 2 contradictory “verses”:
(a) Ibn Abbaas narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated on the day of the Conquest of Makkah, “There is no hijrah after the Conquest [of Makkah]. But there is jihad and intention. If you called to all go out [in jihad], then go out.
(b) Muaawiyyah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The hijrah will not be discontinued until repentance is discontinued. And repentance will not be discontinued until the sun rises from its West.”
Since the apparent meaning of those two sets of hadith seem to contradict one another, Muslim scholars have differed, expressing two opinions, concerning the ruling of hijrah after the Conquest of Makkah and how this apparent contradiction is to be reconciled: simply- hijrah is recommended not mandatory. In their scholarly opinions though, we may find a clue as to WHY these two terms have become almost synonymous. One scholar, who believed hijrah was no longer mandatory stated “”Except for jihad.” “Hijrah will not be discontinued as long as the enemy is being fought.” (Recorded by Ahmad and its chain is hasan. Cf., Sharh al-Sunnah, with the footnotes by al-Arnaaoot and al-Shaweesh as they said (vol. 10, p. 372). They have incorporated a third category: those for whom the hijrah is recommended but not obligatory. This is for the one who has the ability to make the hijrah yet he is also able to openly display and practice his religion in the daar of kufr. It is recommended for him to make the hijrah in order for him to take part in the jihad against the disbelievers, increase the number of Muslims, help the Muslims. “Hijrah is the transitory stage and a necessity for jihad. Jihad cannot be made truly complete and is not permitted until after the hijrah. This is because the hijrah, in its essence, is a separation between the devoted servants of Allah and His enemies… Faith precedes hijrah and hijrah precedes jihad. So the matter becomes faith then hijrah then jihad. This is the sunnah and law of Allah that we find in the Quran and Shareeah texts.” (Maahir Bakri, Kitaab al-Hijrah pg.62)

Islamist militants al Shabaab seized control of two towns over two days in southern Somalia and attacked two African Union (AU) convoys in the same region, a spokesman for the group and a local official said on Saturday. Both captured towns were on routes towards Indian Ocean ports south of the capital Mogadishu and came after al Shabaab fighters attacked an AU base in the same area on Sept. 1. On Saturday, al Shabaab said it had seized two small towns in the Lower Shabelle region: El Saliindi, 65 km (40 miles) south of Mogadishu en route to Marka, and Kuntuwarey, on the road between the capital and Barawe. Ali Nur, the acting governor of Lower Shabelle, confirmed the towns had been captured. “It is sad to say al Shabaab has taken El Saliindi. AU forces withdrew and al Shabaab now controls it,” said Nur, adding that Kuntuwarey was seized on Friday. The AU peacekeeping force, known as AMISOM, could not immediately be reached for comment. Meanwhile, Kenya plans to launch a military offensive against Islamist militants who have set up bases in a remote forest at the northern tip of its Indian Ocean coastline bordering Somalia, a police official said on Monday. The east African country says Somalia’s al Shabaab group has carried out attacks along its northern coast before retreating to hideouts in Boni forest, a 160 kilometer-reserve that is also a sanctuary for elephants. The Pakistan military said it deployed three unmanned drones Monday and killed three militants near the Afghan border, marking the first time the country used drone technology on the battlefield. Major Gen. Asim Bajwa, spokesman for the Pakistani military, said three “high-profile terrorist” were killed in the strike that hit a compound in the North Waziristan region. Officials did not further identify the dead. Earlier this year, Pakistan’s military said it successfully armed a locally made drone, called the Burraq, with a laser-guided missile. Until now, it has never been used in combat. Pakistan’s drone program officially began in November 2013 and has rapidly expanded. Initially, the country said it would only use them for surveillance, but abandoned that stance after a terrorist attack at a school left about 150 students and teachers dead. September 7, 2015

Headline: Yemen crisis: Qatar ‘deploys 1,000 troops’
Saudi Arabia announced Saturday that 10 of its soldiers were killed in a Houthi strike at an arms depot at a military base in the eastern province of Maarib in Yemen the day before, Al Arabiya News Channel reported. The incident took place when Houthis fired a missile that hit a weapons store at a military camp. It also killed 45 soldiers from the United Arab Emirates and 5 from Bahrain. In response to the attack, the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched a series of airstrikes against the Iranian-backed Houthis across Yemen. The airstrikes targeted the arms depot from which the Houthis launched the missile that killed the soldiers the day before. The coalition also targeted one of the biggest arms depots in Marib as well as Houthi positions in several parts of the capital Sanaa, according to the channel. In a separate development, forces loyal to internationally-recognized President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi seized parts of Yemen’s southwestern city of Taiz from Houthis. September 7, 2015

Headline: IAEA: North Korea Apparently Building Nuclear Site
North Korea appears to be renovating and building facilities at its Yongbyon nuclear site, a central element of its atomic weapons program, the U.N. nuclear agency’s head said on Monday. A report by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security in April said satellite images showed that activity at the site’s main nuclear reactor may have resumed after a shutdown. North Korea, which is believed to have carried out nuclear tests in 2006, 2009 and 2013, has not granted IAEA inspectors access to its facilities since 2009, reducing the agency to monitoring its nuclear activities from outside the country. “We have observed renovation and construction activities at various locations within the site,” IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano told a closed-door meeting of his agency’s Board of Governors in Vienna, according to a text of his speech. “These appear to be broadly consistent with the DPRK’s statements that it is further developing its nuclear capabilities,” he said, referring to North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Headline: Blood Rave to douse Amsterdam dancers in gallons of blood
The Netherlands will have its first ever “Blood Rave” – a dance party where dancers are sprayed with 5 thousand liters of blood – in Amsterdam on Halloween night. The event has been posted on Facebook, but with no specifics except for the date – October 31st – so far. A total of 728 guests have indicated that they are going. One of the organizers, who want to remain anonymous due to the nature of the event, told the AD that this is will be the first blood party in the world and the demand for it is high. The Blood Rave is based on the opening sequence of the 1998 vampire movie Blade. The opening shows a club full of dancing people suddenly sprayed with blood. The organizers want to use the same elements to recreate this scene. “In real life it is just more extreme.” one said to the newspaper. In terms of attendees, they expect somewhat “freaky” people in terms of personality. ***our apologies for the story being days old as it just came to our attention August 20, 2015

Increase in Drugs Revelation 9:21 “And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”
In Revelation 9:21 we see Jesus speaking to us about drug’s. The words “sorceries” in Revelation 9:21 is the Greek word pharmakia from which comes our word “pharmacy”. It signifies the use of medicine, drugs, spells, such as those used in witchcraft and those used today by those who are seeking a greater “high”. This generation was to be labeled a drug generation and we are.
Headline: DEA chief says heroin ‘back with a vengeance,’ drugs a national security threat
Foremost on Rosenberg’s agenda – the issue that every one of his 21 special agents in charge, fanned out across the country, cite as the number one problem in their respective jurisdictions – is the surge in heroin use in the United States over the past few years. The Centers for Disease Control reports that heroin usage or dependency surged by nearly 150 percent between 2007 and 2013, and that casualty rates from the drug nearly doubled in the last two years of that span. “It’s back, and it’s back with a vengeance,” Rosenberg told Fox News in his first TV interview since taking the reins of the agency in May. “There’s an enormous supply of heroin; it’s cheap. In fact, it’s a lot cheaper than prescription pills. If you take oxycodone and hydrocodone for a football injury and you get hooked, you’re going to pay a dollar a milligram on the street for a pill – thirty milligrams, thirty dollars, give or take. Heroin is probably one-fifth the price, and because it has a similar chemical effect, a similar pharmacological reaction, folks make that transition.” Asked if he sees substance abuse as a national security threat, Rosenberg at first demurred, seeking the reporter’s definition of a threat to national security. Encouraged to employ his own, Rosenberg replied: “Potentially. This is a multi-billion dollar industry. What are the bad guys doing with the money that Americans are paying for drugs? What’s it funding overseas? I’m sure some of it’s going to terrorist organizations; we’ve seen that. And so that worries me quite a bit.” U.S. officials note that drug overdoses claim the lives of approximately 44,000 Americans each year – more than firearms or car accidents – and that half of those deaths are attributable to prescription pills. Headline: Massive fireball from space witnessed in Thailand, explosions heard
A massive fireball, believed to be a meteorite, has fallen on Thailand. Awestruck commuters witnessed the spectacle, describing a green and orange glow, as it took a nosedive toward Earth. The event took place during the morning rush hour at about 8:45am local time in Bangkok, although the meteor did not make an audible sound as it struck the ground. The size of the fireball is judged to be quite substantial, as residents of the Sisawat district in Kanchanaburi province, some 200km from the capital, also described seeing the meteorite. They say they also heard a thunderous explosion, according to Thai PBS. Some even reported hearing two explosions, so a team of rescue workers was dispatched to where the crash site was assumed to be. Although something of this magnitude can potentially fill people with a mixture of awe and dread, a meteorologist interviewed on local radio says things like that are not a major event, and happen all the time. He admitted, however, that this was not a small meteorite by any measure. All aviation-related services quickly dispelled suspicions it might have been some sort of air catastrophe; no aircraft were in the area. September 7, 2015

“We are not talking about an attempt to boycott Israel,” he cautioned, claiming the move was instead intended to “provide information to the consumer to choose for himself if he is interested in buying produce from the settlements.”

Speaking in Luxembourg earlier, Mogherini said the European Union had “revitalized the work of the Quartet” and voiced hope that this could help “re-open prospective and political horizons to the talks.”

Headline: Journalists ‘killed’ by ISIS in Libya are alive: Tunisia FM
A Tunisian Interior Ministry official has warned of a plan to attack sites in the capital with car bombs and other devices, according to the country’s state news agency. In March and June, gunmen attacked the national museum and a beach resort killing nearly 60 foreign tourists. The attacks were claimed by the Islamic State group.

So if you are summoned to fight, go forth.” (Hadith Riyad-us-Saliheen)

Headline: Pakistan deploys first homemade drones, kills three
The Pakistan military said it deployed three unmanned drones Monday and killed three militants near the Afghan border, marking the first time the country used drone technology on the battlefield.

The Israeli military has said on Thursday its air force had attacked a Hamas military position in the Gaza Strip overnight from which gunfire had hit homes in southern Israel. Shots from Gaza had on Wednesday hit a number of houses in Netiv Haasara, just north of the Palestinian enclave, causing damage but no casualties, it said in a statement. “In response to the shooting, an IAF (Israel air force) aircraft targeted a Hamas military post in the northern Gaza Strip, from where the shots were fired,” it read. The army could not say whether the shots from Gaza had been deliberate or stray fire from the Hamas position, identified in Israeli media as a training base. Palestinian security sources said two missiles fired from the plane hit a training facility in Beit Lahiya belonging to Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, causing damage but no casualties.

A draft resolution on raising the Palestinian flag at the United Nations (UN) will be adopted next week in time for president Mahmud Abbas’s visit to New York, the Palestinian Authority (PA) envoy said Thursday. The UN General Assembly will vote on September 10 on the measure that is almost certain to garner a majority of votes in the 193-nation forum. “We have the votes and we are working to get as many votes as we can,” said Riyad Mansour, the PA representative to the UN. Once adopted, the UN will have 20 days to carry out the decision, which would be in time for Abbas’s visit on September 30. Mansour declined to say whether a formal flag-raising ceremony would be held during Abbas’s visit, an event that would highlight the Palestinians’ aspirations for statehood. “It is a symbolic thing but it is another step to solidify the pillars of the state of Palestine in the international arena and give our people a small hope that the international community is still supporting the independence of the state of Palestine,” Mansour told reporters, according to AFP. The draft resolution presented last week to the General Assembly would allow the flags of the PA and of the Holy See to be hoisted alongside those of the 193 member states.

We will fight him, like we will fight all corrupt politicians.” The hunger strike comes two days after protesters walked into the ministry and staged a sit-in. That standoff with security forces lasted for hours. A protest movement that began with rallies against the garbage piling up in the streets of Beirut garnered much support among the many Lebanese angered by the government’s failure to find a solution after the main landfill was closed in July. Protests have grown beyond the garbage issue and now target the government and entire political class. Protesters say the minister, Mohammed Machnouk, has become a symbol of the government’s inefficiency and corruption. Machnouk said he will not resign.

Headline: Obama Reassures Saudi King on Iran
U.S. President Barack Obama welcomed Saudi King Salman to the White House Friday for the Arab leader’s first visit to the United States since ascending the throne in January, following the death of King Abdullah. The talks between Obama and the king could not come at a more tumultuous time, as a U.S.-led coalition fights Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, and a Saudi-led coalition beats back Iranian-supported Houthi rebels in Yemen. Friday’s meeting is the first since a May 14 summit, during which Obama spent time with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders assuaging any concerns about brokering a nuclear agreement with Iran. “Many people in the Gulf, in fact the entire Arab world, are concerned about the U.S. position in the Gulf, about the Iran nuclear agreement, about what is happening in terms of Iran’s expanding influence in the Levant, in Iraq, in Yemen,” said Anthony Cordesman, a security analyst with the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Cordesman said dialogue will be critical to building Saudi confidence, particularly in the recently negotiated Iran nuclear agreement. “They have to be firmly convinced the United States is going to enforce it, is not going to ignore any violations, they will take a hard stand on it,” he said. While noting Saudi Arabia has already expressed support for the deal, Rhodes acknowledged Saudi concerns about Iran getting its hands on some $56 billion in assets due to sanctions relief.

Headline: Six Peacekeepers Injured in Egypt Bombings
Six international peacekeepers, including four Americans, were wounded Thursday in two roadside bombings in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula where Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists are active, Egyptian and US security officials said. The peacekeepers, part of a force that monitors a 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, are based in the north of the peninsula, where ISIS has killed scores of soldiers in attacks. “We are aware that four US and two Multinational Force and Observer (MFO) peacekeepers were injured today (Thursday) in two IED explosions in northeast Sinai,” US Defense Department spokesman Captain Jeff Davis said in a statement. “The MFO evacuated the soldiers by air to a medical facility where all are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.” There was no immediate word on the nationalities of the other two peacekeepers. Twelve countries contribute troops to the mission, including Australia, Britain and Canada, as well as the United States. Egyptian security officials said the peacekeepers were hit by a roadside bomb planted on a road leading from their base. The officials said ISIS terrorists had placed bombs there aimed at passing Egyptian troops.

Syria Headline: 8 killed in twin bombings in Syria’s Swaida suwayda
Two explosions rocked the predominantly-Druze city of Swaida (As-Suwayda on map) in southern Syria on Friday, leaving at least eight people killed, the state-run TV reported. The first blast took place at the Daher al-Jabal area in Swiada, in which four people were killed and 11 others wounded, said the TV. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hammoud Hinnawi, one of the most prominent Druze Sheikh in Swaida, told Xinhua that the Daher al-Jabal blast was caused by an explosive device that tore through the car of Sheikh Wahid al-Balous, a Druze spiritual leader and outspoken critic of the Syrian regime. The Lebanese al-Bina’a newspaper said Balous and his assistance were killed in the blast. Meanwhile, the second explosion was caused by a booby-trapped car that went off near the National Hospital of Swaida, amid information of high number of casualties, including doctors, the TV and sources said. The Druze minority, along with other minority groups in Syria, has emerged as supporters of President Bashar al-Assad, fearing the expansion of radical jihadist groups that showed no tolerance of minority groups in Syria. However, the Druze support of the Syrian regime didn’t stop them from criticizing the government’s conduct in that city near the Jordanian borders. Last week, several dozens of people staged protests before government institutions in Swaida, urging for reforms.

Syria Headline: Islamic State executes 40 of its militants as internal conflict intensifies
The radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) has executed 40 of its militants, including prominent Saudi leading members, in the eastern Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor on charges of refusing to follow military orders, activists reported on Thursday. The ISIS-linked Sharia Court in al-Mayadin city of Deir ez-Zor province has issued a decision to execute every member of the group who refuses to abide by the regulations of the ISIS general leadership. “ISIS has executed more than 40 militants in the Musbaq al-Suney district of al-Mayadin, saying they have refused to join the battles in Aleppo province,” media activist Mujahid al-Shami told ARA News in al-Mayadin. The group has been transferring militants to join the fighting fronts in Aleppo and northern Raqqa after losing ground to Kurdish forces and Syrian rebel battalions. “Among those executed were several Saudi leading members who refused to leave Deir ez-Zor province. ISIS considers every member who refuses to follow military orders a traitor and deserves death,” al-Shami reported. This comes after violent rifts hit the ranks of the Islamic State over money and power. On Monday, an internal clash claimed lives of 17 ISIS militants in the Iraqi region of Baaj.

Syria Headline: Kerry stresses need for Syria ground invasion
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said there will be ground troops in Syria, emphasizing that he is convinced of the need to launch ground operations in the war-torn country but “at the appropriate moment”. The U.S. has tried to avoid sending any ground troops to the Syrian soil. However, Kerry expressed his belief that such operations seem necessary but without a direct American involvement. He believed the moment would arrive for Middle Eastern countries to send soldiers to Syria. “We are talking about very specific ways to do that with other countries in the region,” Kerry said. “There will need to be people on the ground. I am convinced there will be at the appropriate moment.” “The president has made it very clear that American troops are not part of that equation,” he told the CNN. “But I do know that there are others who are talking about it. There are people in the region who are capable of that.” Kerry declined to say which countries might partake in the ground operation.

Iraq Headline: Iraqi army raids militia headquarters, suspecting link to Turkish abductees
Iraqi security forces investigating the abduction of 18 Turkish construction workers raided the Baghdad headquarters of a powerful Iranian-backed Shi’ite militia overnight, security sources and officials said on Friday. Gunmen in military uniform had seized the Turks on Wednesday from a sports stadium they were building in northeastern Baghdad, in what Ankara said appeared to have been a targeted kidnapping. The militia, Kataib Hezbollah, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Saad al-Hadithi, a spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, said security forces had come under fire on Thursday night when they tried to raid a house on Palestine Street in Baghdad’s eastern district of Mohandessen. Intelligence had indicated the presence there of a member of the group involved in the Turks’ abduction, he said. Hadithi would not confirm or deny that the suspect had been apprehended, and would not comment on his possible affiliation with Kataib or any other group. A spokesman for the Hashid Shaabi, a government body overseeing armed groups fighting Islamic State including Kataib, denied the militia had any connection to the missing Turks. Karim al-Nuri said a “routine search” had escalated into a quarrel that left one soldier dead and two militia members wounded.

Iraq Headline: ISIS militants killed in clashes with Iraqi tribal forces in Nineveh
Clashes broke out between militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) and Iraqi tribal forces in Nineveh province on Thursday. At least 15 ISIS militants were killed during clashes with tribal forces from al-Jabour clan in the Qiyara district west of Mosul in Nineveh province, local sources reported. Speaking to ARA News, member of the al-Jabour clan Amed al-Luhaibi said: “The clashes broke out when ISIS terrorists tried to force young men from our clan to join their ranks. We prevented the group from taking any of our men. We killed more than 15 terrorists in the clashes and we will continue defending ourselves.” “We have always refused the presence of this radical group in Mosul. We will fight ISIS until the last man of our clan,” al-Luhaibi said. The source added that al-Jabour clan has been supporting the Kurdish Peshmerga army and the Popular Mobilization Force in the fight against ISIS for months. “Our youth have participated in anti-ISIS battles in the Farraj and Kharbaniyah areas south of Mosul,” he said.

Tajik officials say eight police officers and nine alleged assailants have been killed in attacks in and around the capital, prompting the U.S. Embassy to close and sparking fears of further violence in the Central Asian country. The Interior Ministry website said a “terrorist group” led by Deputy Defense Minister Abduhalim Nazarzoda, also known as Hoji Halim, launched a predawn attack on September 4 on the Vahdat district police headquarters and later clashed with security forces near the Dushanbe International Airport. Police say nine attackers were killed by security forces and six others were detained. Authorities say a search operation is under way to arrest Nazarzoda, who escaped from the scene. Nazarzoda, a former Islamic opposition commander and member of the recently banned Islamic Renaissance Party, had joined the security forces in June 1997 when the government and the opposition signed a peace accord to end the five-year civil war.

Headline: Uzbekistan: Bomb Blast Rocks Tashkent
A bomb exploded in Tashkent, close to the city’s main bazaar, in one of the most crowded areas of Uzbekistan’s capital, RFE/RL has reported. No-one was injured in the blast on September 4, which was confirmed to RFE/RL by Tashkent police. It was caused by an explosive device left at a bus stop, said the police, who said they were searching for a suspect witnessed dumping it there before making a getaway. The device blew up near the Tokhtaboy Mosque, one of Uzbekistan’s largest and best-known places of worship, where Obidkhon Qori Nazarov — a religious leader whose preaching displeased the authoritarian regime of President Islam Karimov — was once the imam. The blast — extremely rare in a country with a stifling security force presence — took place one week after Washington asked Uzbekistan to join the US-led international coalition against IS. The explosion, which was not immediately reported by the tightly controlled state media, also came less than a month after the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan terrorist group swore allegiance to Islamic State. Headline: Senators Supporting Iran Deal Now Number 36
Iran’s supreme leader said Thursday “there will be no deal” if world powers insist on suspending rather than lifting sanctions as part of a landmark nuclear agreement, and said it is up to Iran’s parliament, and not him, to approve or reject it. His remarks, read aloud by a state TV anchorman, mark the first official comment on the deal since US President Barack Obama secured enough support to prevent the Republican-led Congress from blocking it. Khamenei has yet to express a clear opinion on the deal clinched in July, which would curb Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for relief from crippling sanctions. Khamenei said some US officials have spoken of the “suspension” of sanctions, which he said is unacceptable.
“If the sanctions are going to be suspended, then we will also fulfil our obligations on the ground at the level of suspension and not in a fundamental way,” he said.

Headline: Afghan forces “yet to regain control” of symbolic southern district
Afghan forces are still battling for control of a symbolic district of southern Helmand province, the NATO forces commander told reporters, contradicting the defence ministry, after more than a week of intense fighting supported by U.S. air strikes. Helmand has been among the most fiercely contested regions of Afghanistan since the war began. British forces lost more than 400 men trying to defeat the Taliban and some 350 U.S. Marines were also killed there. Musa Qala, which straddles smuggling routes, fell late last month to the insurgents for the first time since 2007. “The city centre and other places really don’t belong to either force now,” U.S. Air Force General Philip Breedlove, NATO’s supreme allied commander in Europe, said. The statement contradicted earlier claims by the Afghan defence ministry that it had regained control of Musa Qala. “ANSF (Afghan National Security Forces) are preparing now to retake that part of the city and I have great confidence that they will do that,” Breedlove said.

Zarif pointed out that the meeting created the opportunity “to hear the views of President Bouteflika” on several issues, including those related to nuclear talks. On this matter, he said that: “There have been similar views and positions regarding the right of developing countries in the peaceful use of nuclear energy,” and he praised the “support shown by the government and people of Algeria” in this regard. According to the official APS news agency, the two sides also discussed efforts being made to restore calm in the Arab region, especially in Syria and Yemen, where Zarif mentioned that Algeria and his country adopt “similar positions” and “believe in the need to search for a political solution to stop the bloodshed without foreign interference.”

Headline: Three-day-old ceasefire in Ukraine broken as fighting resumes in some areas
In Ukraine the ceasefire that was supposed to go into effect September 1 has since been broken by a number of small arms attacks by Ukrainian and Russian-backed separatist forces in the east, according to a report issued by the Ukrainian government. The attacks involved at least one use of heavy mortars. Early Wednesday two civilians were killed and six Ukrainian soldiers were wounded when an anti-smuggling operation was ambushed near Luhansk in eastern Ukraine. Later in the night, both Ukrainian troops and Russian-backed separatists traded fire near the Donetsk airport. The attacks come just days after protests in Kiev Monday sparked the worst violence the city has seen since the Euromaidan protests last year. The turmoil was in direct response to a vote by the Ukrainian parliament to give separatist controlled areas more autonomy. The protests turned bloody when a disenfranchised ultranationalist solider threw a grenade into the crowd gathered outside of the parliament building downtown. The initial blast killed one national guard soldier. Two additional police officers died in the hours following and more than 90 people were wounded.

A Russian intelligence ship, capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors, has been spotted by the U.S. military off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet. Another senior defense official told Fox News that while the Pentagon is tracking the Russian intel ship, the Russian ship “remains in international waters.” When asked if the U.S. had similar spy ships off the coast of Russia, he answered, “Of course we do, what do you think all those ‘oceanographic ships’ are doing, studying whales?”

Headline: China poses threat to global growth, IMF warns
China’s slowdown appears to have bigger repercussions for other countries than had been expected, the IMF said. The troubles in China have sent the prices of commodities such as oil and copper sliding. The falls have hit exporters of commodities, such as Brazil and Russia, particularly hard. The IMF’s warning comes ahead of a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bankers in Ankara on Friday and Saturday. The IMF said that the problems could lead to “much weaker outlook” for global growth. However, the fund still expects the global economy to expand by 3.3% this year, slightly lower than 3.4% in 2014. The US is forecast to grow by 2.5%, up from 2.4% in 2014, the eurozone should expand by 1.5%, nearly double the 0.8% seen last year, while China should expand by 6.8%, down from 7.4%. The IMF called on China to keep reforming its economy despite the recent falls in the stock markets on the mainland.

August payrolls data gave little comfort to U.S. stock investors seeking direction on interest rates amid volatile global markets and growing concern about the economy’s strength. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index lost 1.6 percent to 1,920.76 at 12:35 p.m. in New York. The benchmark index is poised for a 3.4 percent decline for the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 282.54 points, or 1.7 percent, to 16,092.22. Equity markets will be closed Monday for Labor Day. In the U.S. stock market, the S&P 500 is poised for its sixth decline exceeding 1 percent in 12 days. Prior to that there’d been 10 such declines since January. The benchmark gauge has moved up or down by an average of more than 2 percent a day since falling out of its 2015 trading range on Aug. 20 — almost four times as much as in the prior nine months. September is historically the worst month of the year for the S&P 500, with the equity gauge falling 1.1 percent on average based on data going back to 1927, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. “There’s a risk-off mentality rather than a risk-on one going into a three-day weekend for the U.S. and after the Chinese markets have been closed for four days,” Mark Spellman, a fund manager who helps oversee $4.2 billion at
Alpine Funds in Purchase, New York, said by phone. “The weakness in the market is due primarily to continued global growth concerns.” Financial markets have been unable to shake off volatility that’s jolted markets amid concern China’s slowdown will spread. The Dow yesterday erased a rally of nearly 200 points as optimism over the European Central Bank’s revamp of quantitative easing faded. The gauge surged 1.8 percent Wednesday after tumbling 2.8 percent the day before.

Pestilence & Plagues Luke 21:11 & Revelation 6:8 “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” (Luke) “So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death (Thanatos in Greek meaning the death of the body whether natural or violent), and by the beasts of the earth” (Revelation)
Headline: Sierra Leone village in quarantine after Ebola death
Nearly 1,000 people in Sierra Leone have been put under quarantine following the death of a 67-year-old woman who tested positive for Ebola. It comes five days into a six-week countdown for the country to be officially declared Ebola-free. The quarantine will last for three weeks, provided no new cases are recorded. More than 11,000 people have died since the start of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia. The BBC’s Umaru Fofana in the capital, Freetown, says the authorities had been optimistic after a long period without any new Ebola cases and this caught them off-guard. Our correspondent says the quarantine is stricter than previous ones. It includes a curfew in which people will not be allowed to move from one house to another. Soldiers and police have been deployed to keep the quarantine in Sellakaffta, a village in Kambia on the northern border with Guinea.

Headline: IS forces Syrian Christians to pledge to abide by Islamic rules, pay special tax
The Islamic State group is forcing Christians in the Syrian territory it controls to sign a contract for dhimma (non-Muslims), restricting external expressions of their faith and agreeing to pay a jizya tax levied on those who do not follow Islam. The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which monitors the Arab media, says that the Islamic State’s media office in the Damascus province on Thursday published a photo report showing Christians in the town of Al-Qaryatayn in central Syria signing the contract, which it says requires signatories “to pay the jizya poll tax, abide by Islamic rules and refrain from certain activities.” In exchange, MEMRI says, the contract offers certain protections for Christians, including a guarantee that they will come to no harm and will not be forced to convert. The contract adds that anyone found to be in violation of any of the articles in the 11-point contract will be “treated as a combatant.” The clauses in the contract include a ban on Christians building churches, monasteries, or hermitages in the town or the environs; a ban on displaying the cross or any books in the Muslims’ streets or markets; and a prohibition against ringing church bells outside of their churches. The contract also warns against “any act of aggression against ISIS, such as giving refuge to spies and wanted men,” and demands that signatories report “any plot against Muslims.” In addition, the contract states that “wealthy Christians must pay an annual jizya of four gold dinars; middle-class Christians must pay two gold dinars, and the poor must pay one.” The jizya can be divided into two payments, the contract says.

Headline: The danger of Devil’s Breath
Walking through the cosmopolitan streets of Paris’s 20th arrondissement, not far from rock star Jim Morrison’s tomb, a respectable, elderly lady is approached by a Chinese woman asking for directions. As the pair bend over a map, the Chinese woman blows a tiny dust cloud of white powder into the face of the helpful Parisian. What happens next is like something from a horror film. For, unbeknown to the victim, this white powder is Devil’s Breath, a substance so toxic and powerful that it turns everyone who ingests it into what investigators call ‘zombies’, devoid of their own free will. Indeed, so suggestible does it make its victims that South American tribes used to administer the drug to the wives of dead chiefs, who, under tribal tradition, had to be buried alive with their husbands after they died. Taken from the seeds of a plant which grows wild in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela — related to deadly nightshade — the drug meant these women could be persuaded to walk happily into the graves to their gruesome deaths. Now, in a series of cases that have horrified police, the drug is being used by criminal gangs in Europe to drug unsuspecting victims who are then easily persuaded to hand over their most valuable possessions.

Headline: Lawmaker: Synthetic weed leaving streets full of ‘zombies’
State and city legislators joined forces on Thursday to demand that online retailers such as eBay and Craigslist stop selling the dangerous synthetic marijuana known as K2 (and Spice). “The Internet has become a virtual bodega and a chemist’s warehouse,” state Sen. Jeff Klein, a Bronx Democrat, said at a Manhattan press conference. “These are things that we can find in grocery stores and bodegas around our city, and now you can actually get them delivered to your front door.” Klein and other lawmakers sent letters to the CEOs of several Internet retailers, asking that they take down ads for the potent substances and “better monitor the classifieds.” The move comes as the state plans to increase penalties for those selling the items in stores. “It is a dangerous, unpredictable and illegal substance and for too long unscrupulous stores and online marketplaces have profited,” said City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, who has led the fight to rid K2 from her East Harlem community.

Headline: Islamic Jihad leader reportedly in Cairo for ceasefire talks
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met on Tuesday with a group of women from the Women Wage Peace activist group. This summer members of the group held a weeks-long protest, entitled “Fasting with them,” outside the Prime Minister’s Residence in Jerusalem to mark the one year anniversary of Operation Protective Edge. Woman Wage Peace, which includes members from all sectors, political views and religions, calls on the government to prioritize negotiations with the Palestinian Authority, in the hopes of achieving a peace agreement. During the meeting, the women told Netanyahu about why their movement was established and asked him to initiate and lead a process to come to an agreement with the Palestinians. The Prime Minister expressed his desire to return to the negotiating table and said, “I have no preconditions for negotiations. I am ready now to go to Ramallah or any other place in order to meet and hold direct negotiations without preconditions.” “We want to conduct negotiations with the Palestinians,” he continued. “The solution is two states for two peoples – a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes the national state of the Jewish People.” “If you intend to meet with Abu Mazen [PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas], tell him that I am ready to meet if he is,” Netanyahu concluded.

Headline: Abbas and Fatah Encourage ‘Religious War’ over Temple Mount
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is continuing to openly encourage a religious war to gain exclusive Muslim control over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism. The Temple Mount also houses the Al Aqsa Mosque and Islamic complex, which are built atop the ruins of two Jewish temples. Islamist groups, along with the PA and its supporters, have sought to deny any Jewish connection to the site, claiming it is a Muslim or “Palestinian” holy site. Muslim extremists have also waged a violent campaign aimed at preventing growing number of Jewish visitors from accessing the site, while systematically destroying ancient Jewish artifacts. According to Palestinian Media Watch, in an open letter to Palestinian university students beginning the new academic year, Abbas urged them to “carry out Ribat” – an Arabic term for a religious war to maintain Muslim control over land claimed as Islamic. Text of the letter was posted to the official Facebook page of Abbas’s Fatah faction on August 17, and translated by PMW: In the name of Allah the Merciful and Compassionate, And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good. (Quran, Sura 29:69, translation Sahih International) Allah the Supreme spoke truth. We will continue to stand firm and carry out Ribat in Jerusalem and its surroundings until Judgement Day. Then the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah, and will say: ‘When is it [Allah’s victory]? It might be here soon.’

Headline: Gaza Rockets Explode on Palestinian Side, Cause Casualties
Two rockets that were fired by Gaza terrorists on Tuesday night exploded on the Gaza side of the border. Palestinian Authority-based media reported that one of the rockets exploded in the vicinity of a home, causing casualties. The incident marks the second time in less than 24 hours that Gaza terrorists have unsuccessfully attempted to fire a rocket on Israel. Sirens were heard on Tuesday morning, around 5:20 a.m. local time, in the Hof Ashkelon area of southern Israel, but the IDF said that the sirens were a result of a failed attempt to fire rockets from Gaza. There have been several rocket attacks from Gaza in recent weeks, but there have been several instances in which the rockets missed Israel. In the last month alone three such rockets fell in Gaza, landing short of their mark. While Hamas has had its rocket arsenals buoyed up by Iranian and other foreign technology, an Israeli crackdown on smuggled weaponry and weapon materials together with an Egyptian siege on the Sinai border has led Hamas to turn increasingly to its domestic rocket production industry to create new missiles.

Headline: Netanyahu May Allow Soldiers to Shoot at Terrorists
The army soon may be allowed to act like an army and actually fire at terrorists even if soldiers might only be liable to be wounded and not killed. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the Security Cabinet Wednesday morning that there will be a re-examination of a recent decision to prohibit soldiers from shooting at rock-throwing and firebombing terrorists unless their lives are in immediate danger. He said: Since the legal system is finding it difficult to deal with stone-throwing by minors, changing open-fire orders regarding the throwing of stones and firebombs will be examined, as will be the imposition – by law – of minimum sentences for those who throw stones and firebombs. Stiffer sentences, including several years in prison, for rock-throwers already are on the agenda following an imitative by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked. The issue of minors throwing rocks, intended to kill Israeli drivers either with a direct hit in the face or by causing them to lose control of their vehicles and crash, was highlighted around the world earlier this week with the video of a Palestinian Authority family whose children are “stars” in rock-throwing attacks on soldiers, whose reactions are filmed and edited to portray the children as innocent victims of a big bad army. The video showed the children and adults punching and beating the soldier, who sat helpless and without even aiming his semi-automatic rifle at them.

Lebanese police moved to eject protesters who occupied part of the environment ministry on Tuesday, in an escalation of a campaign against the country’s trash crisis and a stagnant political class. The forcible evacuation began some six hours after several dozen protesters entered the ministry to demand the resignation of Environment Minister Mohammad Machnouk. Activists from the “You Stink” campaign said police had beaten protesters, and a Red Cross official said medics treated several people for wounds sustained in scuffles with security forces. The sit-in was an unexpected escalation of a campaign that began over a trash crisis but has evolved into a broad-based movement against government impotence and corruption. As night fell, several hundred protesters demonstrated outside the ministry in support of the last activists who remained inside, occasionally skirmishing with security forces. “We will continue! Revolution!” they chanted. A security source confirmed that the evacuation of protesters had begun, with police removing a group gradually from the seventh floor of the building in central Beirut. A source at the interior ministry said some 14 demonstrators remained inside and were insisting police would have to handcuff and remove them by force.

Syria Headline: Car bomb kills 10 in coastal stronghold of Syria’s Assad
At least 10 people were killed and dozens wounded when a car bomb exploded in the Syrian city of Latakia on Wednesday, state television said, in a rare attack in a coastal stronghold of President Bashar al-Assad. In Latakia, the car bomb targeted a main square, state television said. There was no claim of responsibility for the bombing, which state media said was carried out by “terrorists”, a term it uses to describe insurgents fighting to topple Assad. Video footage showed wrecked and burning vehicles, with rescue workers and civilians fighting the fires. The governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khader al Salem, told pro-government television channels that insurgents sought to strike at the heart of government-held safe areas that had become a refuge for tens of thousands of displaced families in an attempt to sow “destruction and fear”. State media said a white van filled with at least half a ton of explosives was parked near a school and had created a huge crater in the square that lies at a crossroad inside the port city. At least two explosive-laden cars had been discovered in recent days in the city in foiled attempts to blow up heavily populated areas, it said. Separately, a mortar attack on part of the campus of Damascus University killed at least two students and wounded several, state media said. In a third attack, heavy shelling killed three civilians and wounded 45 in Jaramana city, east of Damascus. On Wednesday Syrian air force strikes killed at least 14 people east of Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said. The strikes hit Douma, Ghouta and Saqba and follow deadly strikes in the area in recent days.

Syria Headline: Islamic State allegedly strikes Aleppo and Al-Hasakah with chemical weapons
The Islamic State (IS) has reportedly struck both Marea, 26km north of Aleppo, and Al-Hasakah to the east with chemical weapons, local medical staff and activists told Syria Direct on Wednesday. “Patient injuries are similar to the attack on Marea on August 21,” Tariq Najjar, Marea Hospital administrative director told Syria Direct on Wednesday, describing the attack the day before. As many as 20 people were injured in the reported chemical weapons attack against Marea, which filled the city with a “loathsome smell,” reported pro-opposition Orient News on Tuesday. Both alleged chemical attacks are reported attempts by IS to regain the upper hand in battles against rebels in north Aleppo and al-Hasakah. IS has encircled Marea, pounding it with artillery, infantry and car-bomb attacks, as part of a broader campaign to preemptively disrupt Turkey’s early-August plan to establish an IS-free “safe zone” in north Aleppo. On-the-ground reports hint that IS might have deployed mustard agent against the north-central Hasakah neighborhood of a-Salehiyah.
“The shell left a disgusting smell and shrapnel covered in a yellow, gold-colored substance,” eyewitnesses told the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (YPD) on Tuesday.
Syria Direct could not immediately verify a video of victim injuries or reported chemical artillery shells, filmed by pro-opposition Marea News Agency on Tuesday.

Syria Headline: US launches drone campaign in Syria – report
The CIA and US special forces are carrying out a secret campaign using armed drones to target and kill Islamic State leaders in Syria, the Washington Post reported Tuesday. The clandestine program is separate from America’s wider military operations against IS fighters, the newspaper reported, citing unnamed US officials. Among those so far killed is Junaid Hussain, a jihadist hacker from Britain who the Pentagon said was recruiting Islamic State sympathizers to carry out lone wolf attacks in the West. Officials told The Post that the drone program has only resulted in a handful of strikes, which are being carried out by the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). The CIA’s main role in the operation is identifying and locating senior IS leaders. The officials said the program was focusing on “high value targets.” A decision to use the Central Intelligence Agency’s Counterterrorism Center (CTC) and JSOC in the operation reflects rising anxiety about the spread of IS fighters, the Post reported.

Iraq Headline: Multiple suicide attacks kill 12 Iraqi troops, militiamen
A series of suicide attacks by the Daesh terror group outside a town in Iraq’s western Anbar province on Tuesday killed 12 soldiers and allied Sunni militiamen, military and hospital officials said. They said the attack began when Daesh militants shelled army and militia positions outside the town of Haditha with mortars. They followed up with two suicide bombers who blew themselves up near the troops and later with three suicide car bombings. Five soldiers and three Sunni tribesmen were wounded in the attacks, the officials said. Air strikes by the US-led alliance destroyed six Daesh vehicles and killed 13 militants as they approached the site, where heavy clashes erupted, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media.

The Islamic State’s so-called “province” in the Caucasus region has claimed responsibility for its first official attack since its was established earlier this year. In a statement released online (seen above), and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group, the group says “the soldiers of the Caliphate were able to mount an attack on barracks of the Russian army in southern Dagestan, in Magharamakint village.” The raid allegedly “led to the killing and wounding of a number of them.” Afterwards, “the soldiers of the Caliphate returned to their positions safely and with spoils, and unto Allah is all praise and gratitude,” SITE’s translation reads. The Islamic State announced its Caucasus branch in June, but the jihadists had not claimed responsibility for any attacks since then.

Headline: Turkish soldier killed by cross-border fire
On Tuesday, at least one Turkish soldier was killed and two others wounded in the southern province of Kilis by cross-border fire near Syria, authorities said. The fire came from Syrian territory held by militants of the Islamic State (ISIS), a Turkish official told Reuters. Kilis province, adjacent to Syrian territory held by ISIS, has seen several such incidents in the recent weeks, especially after Turkey joined the U.S.-led coalition by striking ISIS positions in neighboring Syria. The Turkish authorities have also opened airbases for warplanes of the U.S.-led coalition amid intensifying strikes on ISIS headquarters in Syria and Iraq. Turkey has recently intensified security measures along the borderline with war-torn Syria. Ankara has started to construct a 45 kilometer-long concrete wall along its border with Syria, local media reported last week.

Headline: IS issues death warrant against Turkish President Erdogan
The Islamic State has issued a death warrant against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The fatwa, posted online on Monday by an IS-affiliated group called Al-Battar media foundation, comes after Turkey participated for the first time last Friday in US-led coalition airstrikes against the militant group. The religious edict said to be written by Shaykh Abu Khabab al-Iraqi declares Erdogan an “apostate” for supporting and collaborating with the US in its campaign against “fellow Muslims”. The authenticity of the statement cannot be independently verified, IS also accuses Erdogan of “shedding Muslim blood” and acting in unison with apostate Crusaders, Alawites and Jews. “It is imperative to acknowledge that Erdogan and his men have declared apostasy by opening their doors to the coalition which has declared war on Muslims,” the statement said. “The coalition is a crusade led by the US and Erdogan is a mere puppet in their hands. He must now be eliminated.” In the detailed proclamation, which contains 13 sub-sections, the group uses religious reasoning to sentence Erdogan to death by likening him to other apostates. It says that unless he “repents from supporting the coalition” and goes back on his actions, he faces death.

Headline: Obama wins critical backing on Iran deal, virtually ensuring survival in Congress
The Obama administration now appears to have enough support in Congress to stave off Republican efforts to reject the president’s controversial Iran nuclear deal, after a retiring Maryland Democratic senator came out Wednesday morning in favor of the pact. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., announced her support for the deal as Secretary of State John Kerry delivered a lengthy and detailed address in Philadelphia defending the accord. In his speech, Kerry disputed what he called “false information” circulating on the deal. He said, contrary to the views of many critics, that the deal provides “access” to keep Iran in check, preserves “every option” to respond if Iran balks, and has elements that will last “for the lifetime of Iran’s nuclear program.” “President Obama and I are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the framework that we have put forward will get the job done,” Kerry said.

Headline: ‘Spoil peace, face consequences:’ U.S. warns South Sudan over ceasefire
The United States on Tuesday warned both sides fighting in South Sudan to down arms or face sanctions that have already been authorized by the U.N. Security Council. A truce aimed at ending the brutal civil war between government and rebel forces in South Sudan, the world’s newest nation and one of its most troubled, came into effect on Saturday. But rebel leader Riek Machar has already accused President Salva Kiir’s forces of breaking the ceasefire and the peace process is in danger, while 200,000 civilians are sheltering in U.N. bases. The U.S. State Department did not attribute blame for the latest fighting but demanded that it cease and reminded the warring parties that the Security Council has already approved sanctions. “The United States condemns the recent fighting in Jonglei State and Upper Nile State in South Sudan,” deputy spokesman Mark Toner said. “Anyone acting to spoil the peace agreement implementation will face consequences.” A U.N. Security Council resolution has authorized targeted sanctions and an arms embargo if fighting continues.

Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni runs only a rump state in eastern Libya after a rival group seized Tripoli a year ago, setting ups its own parliament and a government not recognized by world powers. Thinni’s government and allied security forces would therefore only be able to enforce the ban at the eastern airports of Tobruk and Labraq and the land crossing with Egypt. Top army commander Khalifa Haftar, allied to Thinni, signed the latest ban, which cited the overall security situation and a need to preserve “the nation’s security and stability”. The decision, a copy of which was received by Reuters and confirmed by a senior military official, also said that Sudanese and Bangladeshi were not allowed to come to Libya, as mentioned in previous government statements.

Headline: Terror threat in Morocco increases
The Government updated its advice for British travellers yesterday, after local authorities indicated there was an increased threat from Moroccans sympathising with or linked to international terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq and Libya. Travellers have been told to be vigilant. Advice on the Foreign Office website says: “There is a high threat from terrorism in Morocco. “Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners. “Protective security measures are in place at many Moroccan hotels and sites popular with tourists. Security measures, including security personnel, may be visible in certain areas. “The Moroccan authorities have warned of an increased threat linked to the growing number of Moroccans sympathetic or belonging to international terrorist organisations operating in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and regularly report the disruption of terrorist cells. “There is considered to be a heightened threat of terrorist attack globally against UK interests and British nationals, from groups or individuals motivated by the conflict in Iraq and Syria. You should be vigilant at this time.”

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)
Headline: Somalia attack: Al-Shabab attacks African Union Janale base
Fighters from the al-Shabab militant Islamist group have overrun an African Union military base in southern Somalia, inflicting heavy casualties, witnesses have told the BBC. The militants said they have killed 70 AU soldiers at the Janale base, 90km (55 miles) south-west of the capital. AU forces say they are back in control after taking a “tactical withdrawal”. Al-Shabab, part of al-Qaeda, is battling the AU-backed government for control of Somalia. Residents said the attack started with a suicide car bombing at the base’s gate, followed by sustained gunfire which lasted more than an hour. They told the BBC Somali service that AU forces were seen leaving the base, which is run by the Ugandan troops. They said they counted the bodies of 20 AU soldiers and later they saw more troops arriving at the base after the militants had left with weapons. The AU mission in Somalia (Amisom) says the situation is complex and it does not yet have casualty figures. The BBC’s Mohamed Mualimu in the capital, Mogadishu, says the situation in the area is very tense and few residents remain there. The militants had earlier damaged a nearby bridge with a massive bomb to prevent troops from escaping, Col Ahmed Hassan from the Somali army told the Associated Press.

Headline: Suspected Boko Haram gunmen on horseback kill at least 24 in northern Nigeria
Suspected Boko Haram gunmen on horseback killed at least 24 people in two separate attacks on villages in northeast Nigeria, military and vigilante sources said on Wednesday. The gunmen opened fire and threw explosive devices in Kolori and Ba’ana Imam, in Damboa Local Government, Borno state, in the attacks on Monday evening. A military source, who wished to remain unnamed, said details only emerged on Tuesday evening when people who escaped arrived in Biu, the nearest major town. “The area is remote and about 24 people were killed,” he said. Usman Buka, part of a vigilante group formed to fight militants, said he went to the affected villages late on Tuesday and heard details of the attacks. “I was told Boko Haram people came on horses, firing into houses and at fleeing villagers,” Buka said by telephone from Biu, noting that the village of Kolori was targeted first. “They killed 17 people, while seven people were injured. They went to Ba’ana Imam, a few kilometers (miles) away, and killed seven people,” he said. Boko Haram’s insurgency in Africa’s most populous country has displaced about 1.5 million people since 2009.

Headline: Nepal police shoot dead five anti-charter protesters
Police in southern Nepal have shot dead at least five people in a series of violent clashes with angry demonstrators protesting against a proposed new national constitution, security sources say. The casualties were caused after police opened fire Tuesday on members of an ethnic group demanding a new province in the country’s draft constitution. Police official Kamal Singh Bam said at least four members of the Madhesi community lost their lives after security forces opened fire in the town of Birgunj, located about 160 kilometers south of the capital, Kathmandu. The official accused the protesters of violating a curfew order and attempting to attack the police station in the troubled region. Another protester was killed in Kalaiya town, just east of Birgunj during anti-charter protests. Meanwhile, some reports indicate that several protesters were also injured during the violent clashes. The ethnic Madhesi protesters want a province named after their group in the area. Nepal has experienced a series of violent protests in recent days by various groups demanding statehood in the draft constitution.

Headline: Two Red Cross aid workers killed by gunmen in Yemen
Medical officials say at least 20 people have been killed by two bombs that blew up at a mosque in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. Police officials say a suicide bomber blew himself up Wednesday inside the mosque during the evening call to prayers, while a car bomb exploded outside the mosque’s door. Medical officials say the death toll may rise with people now in operating rooms in several hospitals. Witnesses say the car bomb exploded while people were carrying out the wounded from inside the mosque. Hamid Ali, a witness at the scene, says the explosion left body parts and bloodied floors in the mosque frequented by both Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Meanwhile, Unidentified gunmen fatally shot two Red Cross aid workers Wednesday in Yemen’s northern province of Amran, the international organization said. The Red Cross workers, who were Yemeni nationals, were traveling from a mission in the city of Saada to the main office in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital. The workers were traveling with two others in two vehicles clearly marked with the Red Cross emblem. The vehicles were stopped by gunmen who opened fire. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. “We are shocked and appalled by the brutal killing of two of our staff members earlier today in Amran, Yemen,” the International Committee of the Red Cross in Yemen said in a statement. “We condemn in strongest possible terms the brutal targeting of the staff who put themselves in harm’s way to help improve lives of others.” The two other people yet to be identified who traveled with the Red Cross workers are safe.

Headline: Dow nosedives 470 points on more China fears
Stocks took another nosedive Tuesday following more fears about a slowdown in China’s economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 470 points, or 2.8%, and is 12.5% below the all-time high it set in May. The S&P 500 fell 3% and is once again in a so-called correction. It’s down more than 10% from the record that it hit in May. The tech-heavy Nasdaq sank nearly 3% as well and is 11% below its July peak. The Nasdaq also lost its gains for the year Tuesday and is now 2% lower in 2015. It’s an ominous start to September, which is historically the worst month for stocks. (Investors may be singing “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day if this keeps up.) And it comes after the market suffered a miserable August. The Dow had its worst month in more than 5 years while the S&P 500 had its biggest monthly drop since May 2012.

Headline: Putin says dump dollar
Russian President Vladimir Putin has drafted a bill that aims to eliminate the US dollar and the euro from trade between CIS countries. This means the creation of a single financial market between Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries of the former Soviet Union. “This would help expand the use of national currencies in foreign trade payments and financial services and thus create preconditions for greater liquidity of domestic currency markets”, said a statement from Kremlin. The bill would also help to facilitate trade in the region and help to achieve macro-economic stability. Within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) the countries have also discussed the possibility of switching to national currencies. According to the agreement between Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan, an obligatory transition to settlements in the national currencies (Russian ruble, Belarusian ruble, dram and tenge respectively) must occur in 2025-2030. Today, some 50 percent of turnover in the EEU is in dollars and euro, which increases the dependence of the union on countries issuing those currencies. Outside the CIS and EEU, Russia and China have been trying to curtail the dollar’s dominance as well.

Seven people have died and 32 sickened in a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak at a veterans home in Quincy, Illinois, state veterans and health officials said in a statement on Tuesday. The seven residents who died had underlying medical conditions, the statement said, adding that results are pending from tests to determine whether other residents have contracted the disease. Nearly 450 people call the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Quincy home, and it is the largest and oldest veterans home in the state, the home’s website said. The outbreak in Quincy, located about 240 miles southwest of Chicago, follows recent outbreaks of the respiratory illness that killed a dozen people in New York City and has sickened inmates at a California prison.

Headline: Pope Francis: Priests Can Forgive Abortion If Women Are ‘Contrite’
Pope Francis will allow Roman Catholic priests to absolve women who have had abortions if they seek forgiveness during the upcoming Holy Year of Mercy, the Vatican announced Tuesday. The pontiff said he will allow priests “discretion to absolve of the sin of abortion those who have procured it and who, with contrite heart, seek forgiveness for it” during the special year, beginning December 8. “I am well aware of the pressure that has led [women] to this decision,” he wrote in the announcement. “I know that it is an existential and moral ordeal.” Abortion is considered a grave sin by the Catholic church, and those who seek it are usually excommunicated. In normal circumstances, forgiveness can only be granted by senior church figures. Deputy Vatican spokesman Father Ciro Benedettini told Reuters that “for now” the change would apply only during the Holy Year. The pope’s letter did not mention people who perform abortions.

Headline: A new, deadly drug is extremely popular among high-school students
Synthetic cannabinoids, commonly referred to as synthetic marijuana, are a new deadly drug that are soaring in popularity among high-school-aged students, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration. “[Synthetic cannabinoids] are the second most popular drug used by high school seniors, with marijuana being the first,” DEA spokesman Matthew Barden told Business Insider. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, 11% of all high-school seniors used synthetic cannabinoids in 2012, and that number is likely to have grown. New York City’s police commissioner, William Bratton, recently said that the drug, which he referred to as “weaponized marijuana,” is of “great and growing concern” to the city’s police force, which has seen a spike in hospitalizations from the drug. Barden explains that the drugs are usually marketed to adolescents as a synthetic form of marijuana that is safer and cheaper and won’t show up on a drug test. But according to the Erowid Center, which seeks to educate people on drugs, “synthetic marijuana” is a huge misnomer for these drugs, since they produce far different effects and can be up to 100 times more potent than traditional marijuana. Synthetic cannabinoids are made of dangerous research chemicals that are usually imported from drug traffickers in China and mixed into a solvent, according to Barden. The solvent is then sprayed on crushed-up tea leaves that are meant to look like marijuana. The drug is supposed to mimic the effects of a marijuana high by having the chemicals in the drug bind to the brain’s CB1 receptors.

Headline: At least 4 dead in Mexico hailstorm
Authorities in Mexico state said Monday that at least four victims were killed when an unusually strong hailstorm hit the capital suburb. A 45-day baby and two homeless people were amongst the victims of Sunday night’s storm, state government said in a press release. Gov. Eruviel Avila said the baby died in a car accident but the parents and another five-year child survived. The most affected towns in the region received 53 millimeters (2 inches) of precipitation in 50 minutes – an amount three times more than the municipalities’ ability to drain.
By Monday afternoon, piles of hail were still blocking streets in the towns of Coacalco, Tultitlan and Ecatepec. Avila estimated that 100 houses suffered damages, and 35 trees and two billboards were also damaged by storm. The rising waters also carried vehicles and streetlights. State government has advised residents in the region to continue to be careful. More precipitation is forecast for Monday night.

Headline: Report: ‘Strained’ US to Remove Patriot Battery from Jordan
A report over the weekend said that the United States was likely to remove its Patriot missile defense batteries from Jordan. In a statement, Riki Ellison, Chairman of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance (MDAA) said that with the missile threat against Jordan from Syria greatly reduced, there was less of a need for the missile interception system. The “requirement for having an Army missile defense battery deployed in Jordan…is also likely removed, with a pending decision for withdrawal of these forces forthcoming,” Ellison said in a statement. The MDAA, a private group, bills itself as “the only organization in existence whose primary mission is to educate the American public about missile defense issues and to recruit, organize, and mobilize proponents to advocate for the critical need of missile defense.” According to the organization, Jordan has a single Patriot installation with 4 to 6 launchers. The installation is manned by 150 American soldiers. The battery was first placed in Jordan in 2013 as part of a defense drill, but was never removed, as US officials feared that the Syrian civil war could spill over into Jordan. According to the group, withdrawing the battery – and the soldiers manning it – “will reduce some of the intense strain on the U.S. Army’s limited number or Patriot units. Currently, 60% of U.S. Army’s Patriot units are forward deployed. This is nearly twice normal U.S. Army doctrine which mandates a deployment ratio of 33%, with the other two thirds either recuperating or preparing for deployment.”

Headline: Lebanese Army and riot police deploy in Downtown Beirut
Thousands of protesters waving Lebanese flags and chanting “revolution” took to the streets of Beirut on Saturday for an unprecedented mobilization against sectarian politicians they say are incompetent and corrupt. The “You Stink” protest campaign, ignited by a waste crisis, has widened to reflect anger at widely-perceived graft in the political class and the state’s failure to provide basic services. It is seen as the biggest protest movement in Lebanon’s history organized independently of the sectarian parties that dominate politics. “We need a revolution to free ourselves from these politicians,” said Hani Abu Hamdan, a 23-year-old unemployed civil engineer. “We want power, we want water, we don’t want rubbish in the streets. We want these politicians to get lost.” Protesters mobilized after the government failed to agree on trash disposal, leaving piles of refuse stinking in the summer sun. Protesters say the crisis reflects the rot inside Lebanon’s political system. Similar protests descended into violence last weekend and Prime Minister Tammam Salam threatened to resign, a move that could tip the state struggling with political deadlock and spillover from Syria into deeper turmoil.

Headline: Syria ceasefire breaks down in three areas
A ceasefire in a Syrian town near the Lebanese border and two villages to the north has broken down after renewed shelling, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said on Saturday. The truce between the Syrian army and the Lebanese group Hezbollah on the one side, and Syrian insurgents on the other, came into effect in the western town of Zabadani and the Shi’ite Muslim villages of Kefraya and al-Foua in the northwest on Thursday. It had been extended late on Friday but had collapsed by the morning, said Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the Britain-based Observatory. Talks between the same parties earlier this month failed after rebels refused Iranian conditions to evacuate encircled rebels from Zabadani. However, information leaked by an Ahrar a-Sham source to Syria Direct’s Ammar Hamou indicates that although Iranian negotiators agreed to rebel demands in the most recent round of talks, it was the Syrian regime’s refusal to implement the agreement that led to the collapse of the ceasefire and caused “problems between Iranian negotiators and the regime.” “It seems that Iran wants [to rescue] its sect in Kafariya and al-Fuaa, and the regime wants to abandon them.” On Monday, Hezbollah and the Syrian army have killed six militants and caught nine as they advanced further toward the center of the Syrian border town of Zabadani near Lebanon’s borders.

Headline: Egypt sends Assad secret arms aid, including missiles, with Russian funding
Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi has begun supplying Bashar Assad with arms, including missiles, after concluding a secret deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his consent to pick up the tab, debkafile’s military and intelligence sources reveal. The first batch of short-range Egyptian-made surface missiles has reached the Syrian forces fiercely battling rebels for weeks for the recovery of the strategic town of Zabadani without breaking through It is not clear if the Egyptian missiles have also been passed to the Hizballah forces fighting with the Syrian army, considering that El-Sisi and Hizballah are at daggers drawn. Our sources also reveal that the Egyptian arms consignments are freighted from Port Said to the Syrian port of Tartus by Ukrainian cargo vessels. These ships are today the most popular means of transport for clandestine and Black Market arms freights across the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. Sums and quantities are yet to be determined, but Western intelligence sources report that Ukrainian vessels called in at Egyptian ports at least three times from July 22 to Aug. 22 and sailed off to Syria laden with weapons. It is a deal that may affect the fate of the Assad regime from five, often conflicting, perspectives:

Syria Headline: Russian jets in Syrian skies
Russian fighter pilots are expected to begin arriving in Syria in the coming days, and will fly their Russian air force fighter jets and attack helicopters against ISIS and rebel-aligned targets within the failing state. According to Western diplomats, a Russian expeditionary force has already arrived in Syria and set up camp in an Assad-controlled airbase. The base is said to be in area surrounding Damascus, and will serve, for all intents and purposes, as a Russian forward operating base. In the coming weeks thousands of Russian military personnel are set to touch down in Syria, including advisors, instructors, logistics personnel, technical personnel, members of the aerial protection division, and the pilots who will operate the aircraft. The Russians do not harbor offensive intentions towards Israel or other sovereign states in the area, and their main stated goal is battling ISIS and preserving Assad’s rule. However, their presence will represent a challenge to the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of operation in the skies above the Middle East. Western diplomatic sources recently reported that a series of negotiations had been held between the Russians and the Iranians, mainly focusing on ISIS and the threat it poses to the Assad regime. The infamous Iranian Quds Force commander Major General Qasem Soleimani recently visited Moscow in the framework of these talks. As a result the Russians and the Iranians reached a strategic decision: Make any effort necessary to preserve Assad’s seat of power, so that Syria may act as a barrier, and prevent the spread of ISIS and Islamist backed militias into the former Soviet Islamic republics.

Iraq Headline: ISIS detains dozens in Iraqi town after rare street protest
Islamic State militants moved on Saturday to stamp out dissent in a remote western Iraqi town, detaining at least 70 and tying dozens of residents, including tribal leaders, to streetlight poles as a punishment, security officials said. The crackdown followed a rare street demonstration on Saturday to protest the extremist group’s execution of a local resident, they said. The protest by hundreds of residents in Rutbah, in Anbar province, was triggered by the execution earlier on Saturday of Munir al-Kobeisi, a civil servant, for killing an IS member. The killing was part of a long-running blood feud between two local clans. Eid Amash, a spokesman for Anbar’s provincial government, confirmed al-Kobeisi’s execution and the subsequent protest. Relying on sketchy information from Rutbah, in Iraq’s far west near the Jordanian border, the officials said they didn’t know the whereabouts of the detained residents. The militants, they said, tied two residents to each light pole and that the town was gripped by fears that the group would carry out mass executions.

Headline: Washington names first envoy for hostages
The United States named a senior envoy Friday to work for the safe return of hostages after criticism of its response to the kidnap and murder of Americans held in Syria.
One year ago journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff were killed by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, triggering critical debate over Washington’s handling of the crises.
President Barack Obama ordered a review of U.S. policy in hostage cases that led to new protocols for coordinating the national response and helping victims’ families.
Foley’s parents welcomed the naming of former senior diplomat Jim O’Brien as “First Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs,” attached to the State Department in a coordinating role. Secretary of State John Kerry said: “Jim will be focused on one overriding goal: using diplomacy to secure the safe return of Americans held hostage overseas.”
“To that end, he will be in close contact with the families of American hostages,” said Kerry, in a nod to criticism from Foley and Sotloff’s families that they were kept at arms’ length.
After Foley’s murder, his family complained the Obama administration had kept them in the dark about developments and had threatened to prosecute them if they sought to pay a ransom.

Headline: Islamic State Plotting ‘Second Blow’ to U.S. Financial System in Bid to ‘Purify the Earth of Corruption’
Headline: ISIS declares war on the US dollar with the “gold dinar”
The Islamic State group revealed over the weekend that at the centerpiece of its goal to bring down America is a concerted effort to weaken the U.S. dollar and replace it with gold currency. A video posted Saturday warned of the “dawning of a new age” in which replacing the dollar with gold would deliver “the second blow to America’s capitalist financial system of enslavement … casting into ruins their fraudulent dollar note.” The first blow, it said, was the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center. The English-language video included archival footage from U.S. news channels, including a 2007 clip of Ron Paul sounding the alarm over the vulnerability of the dollar. Produced by the Islamic State’s Al Hayat Media, the extremist Sunni group positioned itself as leading the fight against fiat currency by minting caliphate gold, silver and bronze coins. It named them after historical Islamic caliphate coins: the gold dinar, the silver dirham and the bronze fals (or the plural fulus). The Islamist group likened its military efforts, shown in a montage of exploding buildings and militants firing their automatic weapons, to financial warfare against America’s “satanic financial system.” It described the introduction of its gold dinar coin as “blessed” by Allah, as the “prophesy of prophet now unfolding” and as an effort to “purify the earth of corruption.” The group vowed that in the future, it would sell oil only in exchange for gold, not “fraudulent” paper bills.

Headline: Turkish jets attack IS Syria targets
Turkey’s foreign ministry said its jets began attacking IS targets across the border in Syria late on Friday. Turkey has stepped up its operations against the militant group in recent weeks, granting US jets access to a key air base close to the Syrian border. The US began operating from Turkey earlier this month with a series of drone strikes from Incirlik airbase. “Our fighter aircraft together with warplanes belonging to the coalition began as of yesterday evening to jointly carry out air operations against Daesh targets that constitute a threat against the security of our country,” the foreign ministry said in a statement, using a pejorative term for IS. The precise targets of the new Turkish strikes have not been not revealed.

Afghan security forces on Sunday recaptured the strategically important Musa Qala district in southern Helmand province after fierce fighting, Afghan defense ministry said in a statement. “Following successful operations, the security forces inflicted huge casualties to the Taliban rebels in Musa Qala district and re- established government control there Sunday morning,” the statement said. According to the statement, some 120 militants were killed and some 80 others sustained injuries in the operations. Dawlat Waziri, a spokesman for the defense ministry, told local media Sunday that several foreign insurgents were among those killed. According to Afghan official news agency BNA (Bakhtar News Agency), the government forces cleared the militants from Musa Qala district in the wee hours of Sunday. BNA, citing defense ministry officials, reported that Afghan chief of Army Staff General Qadam Shah Shaheem is monitoring cleanup operations to ensure lasting peace in Musa Qala and adjoining areas. BNA said the government forces are now busy consolidating their positions and reactivating local administration in the district. Taliban militants, who on Friday claimed overrunning Musa Qala district as “big victory,” have yet to make any comments.

Libyan pro-government forces on Monday battled jihadists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants in second city Benghazi, where five pro-government fighters have been killed in two days of violence, media said. Four loyalist soldiers died and 22 were wounded on Sunday in clashes with ISIS in the southern district of Hawari, the pro-government LANA news agency reported. “Fierce clashes with all sorts of weapons are still ongoing Monday between the army and terrorist groups,” LANA said, quoting a military source.
Loyalist forces have advanced into Hawari and control much of the district, it added. The eastern city has been rocked by near-daily fighting for more than a year between pro-government forces and armed groups including fighters from the radical Ansar al-Sharia and ISIS. LANA also cited an army spokesman as saying that a special forces commander, Imad el-Jazwi, was killed in a mine blast on Monday.

Headline: Governor: Boko Haram kills 56 in remote part of Borno State
Islamic extremist group Boko Haram killed 56 villagers in a remote area, the governor of Borno State of the region said Sunday, as the government warned that the extremists are trying to extend their violent campaign. Gov. Kashim Shettima confirmed the attack in Baanu village during a meeting with the parents of the 219 girls abducted from a school in the region by the extremists last year. Thursday marked 500 days of captivity of the girls from a school in Chibok. “I want us all to understand that the Boko Haram crisis is a calamity that has befallen us, as the insurgents do not discriminate whether somebody is Christian or Muslim, neither do they have any tribal sympathy or affiliations. Just yesterday they killed 56 people in Baanu village of Nganzai local government, as I am speaking to you their corpses are still littered on the street of the village because virtually everyone in the village had to run for their lives”. He did not provide futher details of the attack.

One Bahraini security officer was killed and several others injured as a result of a homemade bomb attack in the village of Karana, Al Arabiya News Channel reported. “The terrorist attack also resulted in wounding four other security officers, one of them critically. A citizen and his wife were also injured while they were passing as the attack happened and a child was also hurt,” Bahrain ministry of interior said on their Twitter account. Bahraini Information Minister Isa Abdulrahman Al Hammadi told Agence France-Presse the explosives used in the apparent bomb attack were “very similar” to that seized by authorities last month which “came from Iran”. In July, Bahraini authorities declared they had foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons from Iran. A few days later, two police officers were killed and six others injured in a bomb attack in the mainly Shi’ite village of Sitra outside Manama.

Headline: Czech President Calls for Army to Defend Border Against Migrants
The Czech Republic should defend its borders, using the army to expel “illegal immigrants” because the European Union isn’t curbing the influx of refugees into the bloc, President Milos Zeman said. Zeman’s comments echoed those of other politicians calling for the EU to take action to stem the flood of people into the region from Syria and other conflict areas as they travel through Greece and the Balkan states to western Europe. “Of course I would wish for the EU to strengthen its borders, but I don’t see any real action,” Zeman told reporters in Prague castle on Monday. “Therefore I believe the Czech Republic should take of its borders alone and expel illegal immigrants from the borders, including with the use of the army.” The refugee crisis has escalated in central Europe this month, with Austrian police finding a Hungarian-licensed truck containing the bodies of 71 migrants last week. Scores more drowned when their boats capsized off the coast of Libya. Most refugees traveling to the EU pass through former communist countries as they head to Germany and other richer states.

Headline: Japanese hold massive rally to protest Abe’s foreign wars bill
Tens of thousands of people gathered outside Japan’s parliament building on Sunday to protest Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s controversial bill, which authorizes Japanese armed forces to join foreign military operations. Some also called for the PM’s resignation. Protesters of all ages, raging from young people to the elderly who had witnessed WWII, braved the rain to participate in the rally. Many people arrived with their children. The demonstrators were singing songs, shouting slogans and waving banners and placards as they demanded that the bill be defeated and Shinzo Abe leave office. “War is over!” “No War!” “No to war, yes to peace!”“Peace not war” and “Stop the security bills,” as well as “Abe, quit!” and “Stop Abe!” were among the slogans featured on the posters, with some placards depicting the Prime Minister as a warmonger, or even Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Sunday’s rally, which was organized by several protest groups, was among the most massive protests in Japan in recent years, with organizers putting the number of participants at 120,000. Japanese police estimated that only 30,000 protesters came to the parliament building.

Saudi forces in the kingdom’s southwestern Jizan region bordering Yemen shelled Houthi militias over the frontier on Sunday in retaliation to an attack on a courthouse, Al Arabiya News Channel reported. Houthi militants had reportedly targeted the courthouse in the area of al-Horth near the Yemeni border with a missile earlier on Sunday. Earlier this week, Saudi air defense intercepted a Scud missile fired by Houthi militias and supporters of deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh towards Jizan city. Meanwhile, a car bomb exploded Saturday in Yemen’s rebel-held capital Sanaa, not far from the vacated U.S. embassy complex and close to a position of the Shiite insurgents, witnesses said. The blast occurred near a mosque in Sawan neighborhood, in northeastern Sanaa, close to a checkpoint leading to the U.S. Embassy, witnesses said. The target of the attack was unclear.

Headline: Ukraine police conscript dies in Parliament clashes
A Ukrainian National Guard officer died on Monday after being injured in the heart in fierce clashes between protesters and police that wounded around 100 people. “He died on the operating table,” a spokeswoman for the National Guard, Svitlana Pavlovska, told AFP. Street battles broke out between dozens of demonstrators and police outside Parliament as MPs backed on first reading controversial constitutional amendments giving more autonomy to pro-Russian separatists. It was worst unrest in Kiev since a bloody popular uprising ousted Kremlin-backed Viktor Yanukovych early last year. Around 100 people were injured on Monday including around 90 police, with authorities detaining some 30 people. Interior ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko said the guardsman who died was a conscript. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov initially said the officer, who is believed to be 24 or 25, died from a bullet wound to the heart but later wrote that he was apparently killed by a fragment of a grenade. “More than 30 people have already been detained. More to come,” Avakov said on Facebook, adding that people who threw “several” explosive devices wore T-shirts with the logo of the Svoboda nationalist party.

Headline: World to Fed: We’re prepared for U.S. rate hike, so don’t delay
Headline: S&P 500 Index Heads Toward Worst Month in More Than Three Years
Central bankers from around the world are telling their American counterparts that they are ready for a U.S. interest rate hike and would prefer that the Federal Reserve make the move without further ado. In private and in public at last week’s global central banking conference in Jackson Hole, the message from visiting policymakers was that the Fed has telegraphed an initial monetary tightening and, following a year-long rise in the dollar, financial markets globally are as ready as they can be. The powerful group gathered at the end of a roller-coaster week in markets in which the Dow tanked by 1,000 points on Monday on concerns of a slowdown in China but recovered to trade higher by the end of the week. Remarks by Fed officials that liftoff could come in September were blamed by some for that volatility. An end to more than six years of rock bottom U.S. rates will touch off a wave of potentially painful adjustments as countries deal with the likelihood of an even stronger dollar as well as capital outflows from some emerging markets and changes in the relative prices of traded goods. An end to uncertainty for policymakers, however, could outweigh those difficulties.

Headline: Dozens of inmates at California prison under observation after Legionnaires’ diagnosis
At least six San Quentin State Prison inmates were ill with Legionnaires’ disease and dozens more under observation Sunday, prompting a weekend halt to visitors, no hot meals and limited drinking water supplies at California’s oldest prison. At least 51 inmates are under observation for respiratory illness at the prison’s medical unit, said Dana Simas, a spokeswoman with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Cooking at the prison has stopped because Legionella bacteria grow in water and spread through water molecules. Instead inmates are being served boxed meals, Simas said. Water use at California’s oldest prison has been limited since last week, when an inmate was hospitalized with a confirmed case of the disease. Officials brought in portable toilets, bottled water and large water tanks to serve thousands of inmates and employees. The disease, caused by a bacterium, is considered a severe type of pneumonia that can bring high fever, chills and a cough. It occurs when contaminated water is inhaled into the lungs in the form of steam, mist or moisture. It is considered particularly dangerous for older people and those with underlying health issues. A recent outbreak that sickened 128 people and killed 12 in New York City was traced by the city’s health commissioner to a rooftop air conditioning unit at a Bronx hotel.

The Last Chronicles of Planet Earth August 26, 2015 Edition written by Frank DiMora.
Over the years I have repeated myself here at my prophecy site and at the many prophecy seminars I have given concerning the rising temperatures as outlined in the book of Revelation. Each year my message has been the same which is get ready for new temperature records and each year that is exactly is what is happening. If you are new to my site go ahead and do a Google search on Frank DiMora and scorching heat at either the endtimesresearchministry.com or at bibleprophecyman.com. You will see my warning go back to when I first opened up my first prophecy site in 2007. I am telling you this so you can check the record to see if the information I am quoting from is trust worthy? If you check the quotes I have given you from the Bible on this issue you will learn what I learned and, that is Jesus Christ is always trust worthy in His warnings. Here is a prime example in the news today about the 2015 heat record!
“It is rare for climate experts to make such a bold prediction so soon in the year, but they believe that a surge in ocean temperatures in particular now makes it almost inevitable that 2015 will turn out to be the hottest year globally since instruments were first used to gather readings more than 130 years ago.
The average temperature increase will be so much higher than the previous record, set in 2014, that it should melt away any remaining arguments about the so-called “pause” in global warming, which many climate sceptics have promoted as an argument against action on climate change.”
Did you know that in the book of Daniel God outlines every major world power from Daniel to the second coming of Jesus Christ? Did you also know that the United States is no where in sight as a world empire in the last days. I have people asking me over and over again why isn’t the USA mentioned in prophecy if the USA is supposed to be the strongest nation in the world? America has never been a WORLD EMPIRE and she never will be! Fact is, our generation can now see first hand why it is America never makes it to a WORLD EMPIRE status and, therefore didn’t have to be mentioned by Daniel. Do you want the answer? You will find your answer in The Wall Street Journal report below. Let it be know that Christ puts people in power for His own reason and it has become very clear that President Obama has been installed as leader to help bring down America from its superpower status. The Wall Street Journal will show you what Obama has done to the U.S.. America has tossed Jesus to the side line and because of it God gave us Obama!
