Headline: IDF Installs Concrete Barriers Along Syrian Border
The IDF has placed concrete barriers along the Syrian border, Walla! News reports Tuesday, following the antitank missile attack from Hezbollah last month in the Golan Heights. “Following the increase in threats to IDF soldiers patrolling the border, and for fear of similar events, it was decided to increase in various ways the security measures in the area, including placing concrete blocs,” a senior military source stated. On January 28, Major Yochai Kalengal and Sgt. Dor Chaim Nini were killed after Hezbollah terrorists shot between 4-6 antitank missiles into Israel, near Har Dov in the Golan Heights. The attack also injured six additional soldiers, and a Spanish UNIFIL peacekeeper was killed in retaliatory fire from Israel.

Headline: Israeli fighter jets stage warning passes against Syrian air force intruders over Golan. Air tension high
Israeli fighter jets flew passes over the Golan Monday, Feb. 23 as a warning to Syrian helicopters and fighter planes to stop encroaching on the no-fly zone, in violation of standing Israeli-Syrian armistice agreements. This is reported by debkafile’s military sources. The Syrian warplanes planes came over Quneitra Monday to drop barrel bombs on Syrian rebel forces holding the town. Spotters on Israeli Golan counted at least 30 bombs dropped by helicopters under cover of Syrian air force jets. Their crews took no notice of the Israeli fighter jets and drones present at the time and continued their attacks regardless. At the end of the Syrian operation, Israeli aircraft conducted its warning passes over the Golan town. Our sources report that this was the second day in a row that the Syrian air force had bombed the same sector. Sunday, they struck rebel positions in the Tel Al-Harra area 6-8 km from the Israeli Golan border. Israel’s inaction then encouraged Damascus to move its warplanes closer to the border the next day and fly into the no-fly zone. This time, Israeli avoided a direct clash, but broadcast a warning that a confrontation was possible if the Syrians returned for a repeat. Western and Middle East military sources interpret the Israeli flights over Quneitra Monday as a clear warning to Damascus that Israel will not tolerate Syrian air raids close to its Golan lines or any incursions in airspace banned by their armistice agreements.

“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” (Psalm 83)

Headline: Report: Saudis might help Israel attack Iran in exchange for progress in peace process
In private talks with European sources, the Saudis have expressed their willingness to cooperate with Israel on Iran, including use of Saudi air space by the IDF for a possible air strike, according to a report by Channel 2.Cooperation with Saudi Arabia would not come free, however. According to the report, the Saudi officials said they would need to see progress between Israelis and Palestinians before having enough legitimacy to allow Israel to use their air space.Arab governments, not only Israel, have been expressing concern over the development of a deal with Iran over its nuclear program, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.Talks with Iran over its nuclear program have instilled fear within some major Sunni states, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates that a nuclear arms race will break out in the region, and brought about speculation regarding the possible extension of a US nuclear umbrella to its non-nuclear-armed Middle East allies. According to the Wall Street Journal, concerned Arab states said that a nuclear deal allowing Iran to keep its nuclear-producing technologies would likely drive nations in the region to develop nuclear capabilities in order to match those of Iran’s.

Syria Headline: Nusra Front Claims Twin Suicide Bombings Near Shi’ite Shrine in Damascus
Two simultaneous suicide attacks killed four people and wounded 13 Monday in southern Damascus near the Shiite shrine of Sayyida Zeinab, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported. The agency, quoting police, said the twin attack took place at a security checkpoint near the shrine honoring a granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammad. “A civilian car had stopped at the checkpoint … and a terrorist got out wearing an explosive vest which he detonated,” SANA said, adding that seconds later a man who had remained in the car blew it up. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the bombing targeted a checkpoint manned by a pro-regime militia, the Popular Committees, just 10 kms east of Damascus and on the road to the international airport. Other, pro-regime accounts of the incident said three suicide bombers were involved, and that at least six people were killed.

Iraq Headline: 58 killed in bomb attacks, airstrikes in Iraq
Up to 58 people were killed in separate bomb attacks and airstrikes in central and northern Iraq on Tuesday, security sources said. In Iraq’s northern central province of Salahudin, a bomb exploded near a group of young men who were gathered at a recruitment center at a military base near the town Amerli, some 70 km east of the provincial capital Tikrit. The blast killed three recruits and wounded five others, a provincial security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Also in the province, a roadside bomb went off near a mosque in the town of Tuz-Khurmato, some 90 km east of Tikrit, killing two people and wounding four others, the source added. Elsewhere, two sticky bombs attached to a car in the town of Yousifiyah, some 20 km south of Baghdad, went off leaving two policemen killed and three people wounded, a police source on condition of anonymity. In the volatile province of Anbar, 23 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed late on Monday night when the security forces blew up a tunnel dug by the IS militants to reach to the fortified provincial government compound in the capital city of Ramadi, some 110 km west of Baghdad, a provincial security source told Xinhua.

Iraq Headline: ISIS seize 100 Iraqi tribesmen before battle for Tikrit
ISIS fighters have abducted 100 Sunni Muslim tribesmen near the city of Tikrit, local tribal leaders said Wednesday, apparently to neutralize suspected opponents before a widely expected army offensive. Iraqi soldiers and pro-government Shiite militias have been massing for days in preparation for an attack on ISIS strongholds along the Tigris River to the north and south of Tikrit, hometown of executed former president Saddam Hussein. Tikrit, about 150 km north of Baghdad, has been controlled by the Sunni Muslim radicals since they swept through northern Iraq in June, scattering Iraq’s security forces. Tribal leaders said ISIS fighters had detained 42 Sunni tribesmen in the village of Rubaidha Tuesday whom they suspected of being ready to take up arms against them. “They broke into the houses and asked for mobiles,” said Hatam al-Obeidi, a Rubaidha resident who escaped to the town of Tuz Khurmatu Wednesday. “They were checking everything in the mobiles that might show that the owner is against them,” he said, adding that his own telephone had been returned to him after a gunman told him he was “clean.”

Headline: Cyprus to sign controversial military agreement with Russia
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades flew to Moscow on Tuesday for an official visit during which he will sign a controversial defense cooperation agreement extending military facilities to Russia on the eastern Mediterranean island. Anastasiades, trying to play down the agreement, has said that it will renew an old one which covered Russia’s servicing of military equipment purchased by Cyprus. However, Cypriot government officials have acknowledged that it will extent the scope of the defense cooperation by offering facilities to Russia, such as refueling and maintenance for its aircraft at an air base in the western part of the island and also port facilities for Russian ships. Russia is the main supplier of arms to the small Cypriot National Guard. These include attack helicopters and an anti-aircraft missile system. Russia’s ambassador to Cyprus, Stanislav Osadchiy, has said that Russia asked for additional military facilities on the island, including storage space at the southern port of Limassol. Britain has voiced hardly veiled objections to Cyprus offering military facilities to Russia next to a British air base near Limassol, which is one of the most important airbases and electronic surveillance sites supporting NATO operation.

Headline: Fake US Aircraft Carrier the Target in Latest Iranian Drills
Despite Iran’s denials that it is on the path to a nuclear bomb, new evidence charges that the Islamic republic has an “underground top-secret site” that is enriching uranium intended for nuclear weapons that has been hidden from the West for years. According to the Iranian opposition group, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the complex, called Lavizan-3, is right outside Tehran, “buried deep underground in tunnels and underground facilities” with “radiation-proof doors” to prevent any leaks that could be detected by the United Nations International Energy Agency inspectors. The revelations were unveiled during a Washington, D.C., news conference by the NCRI, which first exposed elements of Iran’s covert nuclear program in 2002. “This site must be inspected,” declared Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the NCRI’s Washington, D.C., office.

Headline: ISIS kidnaps dozens in Afghanistan, official says
Gunmen in southern Afghanistan kidnapped 30 members of the Hazara ethnic community, authorities said Tuesday. The 30 people were kidnapped from two vehicles on a major road in Zabul province, provincial Gov. Mohammad Ashraf said. He said authorities were trying to find those kidnapped, some of whom may be government officials. Though no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack nor demanded a ransom, deputy police chief in Zabul province told CBS News that militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) were behind the abductions, which he said took place on the Kabul-Kandahar highway on Monday night. Deputy police chief Ghulam Jilani Farahi told CBS News’ Ahmad Mukhtar over the phone that ISIS fighters “stopped two passenger buses traveling from Kandahar to Kabul and took 11 people from one bus and 20 people from the second bus.” He said all of those abducted were Hazara Shiite Muslims. Farahi said a search and rescue operation was underway in the Zabul province. Abdul Khaliq Ayubi, a local government official, said the gunmen all wore black clothing and black masks. “We contacted the Taliban through tribal elders but Taliban said they are not behind this kidnapping,” Ayubi told CBS News. He said the drivers of both buses had told authorities that the kidnappers spoke in a foreign language. “We believe they are Daesh (ISIS),” Ayubi said, adding that he had received reports of ISIS activity in his district recently and had reported it to provincial leaders.

Headline: Libya could be next Syria without West’s help, minister warns
Libya’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Dayri has called for Western military support, saying the growing threat from jihadist groups threatened to turn his country into another Syria. “Time is running out,” Dayri told AFP in an interview on Tuesday. “Terrorism amounts to a danger not just for Libya and its neighbours. It is an intensifying threat to Europe. “Without a political solution, the country could get trapped in a full-blown civil war like in Syria,” he said. The North African country has collapsed into a bitter struggle between rival governments and militias since dictator Moamer Khadafi was overthrown and killed with Western help in 2011. Two parliaments compete for legitimacy in different parts of the country. Islamist militants control the capital Tripoli, while an internationally-recognised government has been relegated to the eastern city of Tobruk. There are also fears that the conflict is attracting an increasing amount of foreign jihadists, and a number of attacks have been claimed by the Islamic State group.

Headline: Anti-Islamist Libyan general to meet with Israeli officials in Jordan
Libyan General Khalifa Haftar, who is attempting to form a coalition to fight Islamists in Libya, will reportedly meet with Israeli officials in the Jordanian capital of Amman. According to the U.K.-based Arabic newspapers Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Haftar secretly visited Egypt twice last week. On the trip, he received 400 containers of weapons to help fight Islamic extremists in Libya. The Egyptian military recently launched attacks on groups aligned with the Islamic State terrorist organization, in response to Islamic State’s murder of 21 Egyptian Christians. Egypt, along with its Arab allies such as Jordan, has called for international intervention in Libya to combat the growing threat of radical Islam. Some have compared Haftar’s efforts to combat Islamist terror to the approach of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Meanwhile, Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni on Tuesday criticized the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union for failing to support his government’s battle against a rival movement called the Libya Dawn, which seized the Libyan capital of Tripoli last year.

Headline: Algeria rejects proposal for Arab force for Libya
Algeria has rejected a proposal to create an Arab regional force to intervene in crisis-hit Libya, an Algerian diplomatic source has said. “The proposal includes formation of a ground force to intervene in Libya,” the source, requesting anonymity, told The Anadolu Agency. He said the proposal was tabled following the decapitation of 21 Egyptian nationals by militants affiliated with the Daesh militant group in Libya’s eastern city of Darnah. “But the proposal was rejected because intervention in other countries violates the code of the Algerian army,” the source said. Daesh is the Arabic acronym for the ISIL, which last year overran vast swathes of territory in both Iraq and Syria. The diplomatic source cited several reasons for Algeria’s decision to reject the proposal, including the proposed force’s “unclear objectives” and differences between Arab countries regarding intervention in troubled Libya.

Headline: Forced from Damascus, Hamas establishing itself in Turkey
Islamist group sets up ‘West Bank and Jerusalem Headquarters’ in Istanbul, taking advantage of deteriorating ties between Ankara and Jerusalem, using it as base for recruitment. Relations been Israel and Turkey have been on a slippery downward slope in recent years; of late, however, the situation has led to grave consequences beyond the realm of politics: Turkey has become a Hamas hotbed, and members of the organization’s military wing are undergoing military training on Turkish soil, with the knowledge, support and assistance of the local authorities. The US administration has appealed in recent months to the Turkish government to prevent Hamas military activity in its territory, arguing that Turkey is a member of NATO and that Hamas is viewed by most NATO members as a terrorist organization. The appeals have gone unanswered. For his part, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon has raised the issue in his talks with the defense ministers of various NATO countries on several occasions, including last week in India, where he attended a military exhibition. Ya’alon defined Turkey’s role in helping Hamas’ build its terrorist networks in the West Bank and the Gaza as “a cynical game on the part of a NATO member state.” Hamas set up its so-called West Bank and Jerusalem Headquarters in Istanbul immediately following the organization’s expulsion from Damascus in 2011. In 2013, Hamas underwent restructuring, and the organization expanded the activities of the Turkey-based headquarters, headed by Salah Al-Arouri, who was deported from Israel in the past. Among others, under him now in Turkey are 20 militants released as part of the Gilad Shalit deal, including the likes of Zaher Jabarin and Jihad Yarmur, who were involved in the murder of soldier Nachshon Wachsman.

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)

At least 12 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a bus station in the northwestern Nigeria’s city of Kano on Tuesday, barely five hours after a similar blast hit a crowded bus station in the country’s northeastern region, local police said. Police chief of Kano state, Ibrahim Idris, confirmed the 12 deaths, adding that the bodies of the two suicide bombers who carried out the attack were also found. The official declined to give the figure of the injured. The attack was carried out at the city’s Kano Line Motor park, near a newly-commissioned overhead bridge. Malam Ibrahim, a member of the local transport union at the park said the death toll might increase as rescue workers were still searching the area. Hours earlier, at least 14 people were killed when a suicide bomber struck a crowded bus station in the northeastern Nigeria’s town of Potiskum, according to medics at a local hospital. No group has claimed responsibily for the bombing, but local people have blamed the militant group Boko Haram for the attack.

Headline: Yemen Houthis take over U.S.-trained special forces base in Sanaa
Yemen’s Shiite rebels said Tuesday that President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi, who fled the rebel-controlled capital earlier this month and has begun reconstituting his authority in the south, is “wanted for justice.” The move escalated a crisis that threatens to split the Arab world’s poorest country between the Houthi rebels, who control the capital Sanaa and much of the north, and Hadi, who enjoys wide support in the formerly independent south. The growing chaos also threatens to undercut U.S. efforts to combat Yemen’s powerful Al-Qaeda affiliate, which has been linked to several failed attacks on the United States and claimed responsibility for the attack on a French satirical magazine last month. In the latest sign of the country’s growing lawlessness, a Frenchwoman working for the World Bank was kidnapped Tuesday in front of a ministry building in Sanaa, where several Western countries, including France, have shuttered their embassies. No one claimed responsibility for the abduction. The rebel-run state news agency SABA quoted the Houthis’ Revolutionary Committee as saying that they are monitoring the “suspicious” activities of Hadi. It did not say whether a formal arrest warrant has been issued.

A Seattle missionary has been kidnapped in Nigeria and the U.S. government is getting involved to help secure her release, the church she works for said Monday. Church officials said Rev. Phyllis Sorter, of the First Free Methodist Church, was abducted Monday morning from the Hope Academy compound in Emiworo, Kogi State, according to KING 5. “She was taken in front of her house by three guys with machine guns,” Richard Sorter, Rev. Sorter’s stepson, told Q13 Fox outside of a prayer service Monday night. “She is one of the most God-fearing people in the world and all she wants is for everybody to have a good life and to be happy — and equality,” Sorter added. The kidnappers were wearing masks and “came into the school premises shooting sporadically to scare away people before taking [the hostage] away into the bush”, Kogi state police spokesman Sola Collins Adebayo told AFP. The stepson said Phyllis — a graduate of Seattle Pacific University — built schools in Nigeria and taught children there for nearly 15 years.

In Revelation 9:21 we see Jesus speaking to us about drug’s. The words “sorceries” in Revelation 9:21 is the Greek word pharmakia from which comes our word “pharmacy”. It signifies the use of medicine, drugs, spells, such as those used in witchcraft and those used today by those who are seeking a greater “high”. This generation was to be labeled a drug generation and we are.
Headline: Alaska becomes third state to legalize recreational marijuana as ballot measure takes effect
Alaska on Tuesday became the third U.S. state to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, but organizers don’t expect any public celebrations since it remains illegal to smoke marijuana in public. In the state’s largest city, Anchorage police officers are ready to start handing out $100 fines to make sure taking a toke remains something to be done behind closed doors. Placing Alaska in the same category as Washington state and Colorado with legal marijuana was the goal of a coalition including libertarians, rugged individualists and small-government Republicans who prize the privacy rights enshrined in the Alaska state constitution. When they voted 53-47 percent last November to legalize marijuana use by adults in private places, they left many of the details to lawmakers and regulators to sort out. That has left confusion on many matters. The initiative bans smoking in public, but didn’t define what that means, and lawmakers left the question to the alcohol regulatory board, which planned to meet early Tuesday to discuss an emergency response.

At the end of my last prophecy seminar on February 11, 2015 I told those in the class to expect war in 2015. Why did I say this? Take a look at what Jesus said in Matthew 24:6-7. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. For the past 5 years I have repeated my statement that because Iran would not stop their quest to get a nuclear bomb Israel would have to take action against Iran that would lead to war. If you have been watching the news you are up to speed knowing that the time gap is closing very fast for Israel to take action to halt that bomb progress. Is Israel going to attack soon? Take a look at the video below. If there really is US troop movements to Israel it is happening just prior to the total solar eclipse which will take place on March 20, 2015 and the Blood Moon which will take place on April 4, 2015. We have seen in the past how major events have taken place during these heavenly signs. The next set of Blood Moons won’t show up until 2032-2033. There are many Pastors who are saying these next set of solar eclipses and Blood Moons are the ones Jesus warned us about for the last days. I refer to Matthew 24 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken”. Most of you who have watched any news in 2014 or 2015 have already witnessed the many rumors of war that have taken place in this short amount of time. Then in the latter part of 2014, ISIS began their major assault into Iraq and, Syria and, now they have moved into areas bordering Israel as well as just recently taking over much of Libya. Seems like the fighting is everywhere you look now but, it will get worse according to Christ as you can see from the Matthew 24 scriptures.
I wish I could tell you exactly how things are going to be played out but like you all I can do is watch as Jesus instructed all of us to do and, see how these things unfold. There is one thing I can tell you for sure. I can tell you the exact names of the nations who are going to attack Israel as they are given to us in Psalm 83 and in Ezekiel 38. Is it possible that the US is going to Israel knowing that when Israel goes into Iran to bomb their nuclear plants that Iran would counter that attack and make moves on Israel? Could such an attack on Iran tick off the rest of the Muslims who are listed in the Psalm 83 war so much so that they would attack Israel for Iran? As I said, only our Lord know for sure but one thing is very clear at this point. War Is Coming Very Soon!
If you have noticed I have stepped up in trying to finish my teaching on the book of Revelation. I have been doing a verse by verse teaching through the Revelation. I just finished part 36. Jesus has laid it on my heart to finish this work. I never know how many people will watch these YouTube videos but, that is not my concern as the Lord has a plan for each person and, Christ will direct the people He wants to my teaching as He sees fit. As a watchmen on the wall for Christ I am asking any of you who have not taken Jesus Christ as your Savior yet to please consider what you are seeing in the news. I am sure that there are many of you who are watching the news not even knowing that you are seeing first hand Bible prophecy come to pass just as Christ warned it would. Even nature itself is calling out to Christ to be delivered! In my book I list all the reports concerning the mass bee deaths. I do this to show you little by little these important crop growers are dying off and, their death is going to have a huge impact on the global food supply. Did you notice in the Matthew 24:7 verse Jesus talks about famines? At the rate the bees are dying off one can see just one of the reasons why famines will occur. Are you taking notice that the list of birds, fish, and animals round the planet are also dying off in mass numbers? So far in the beginning of 2015 we have already seen 115 reports of either birds, fish, or animals dying in mass numbers in 34 nations. This sign alone should be enough to tell you there is something major going on around the world that is killing off our food supply!

Headline: Iran is Deployed, ‘Planning War’ Along Israel’s Northern Border
Iran is seeking to open a “third front” against Israel using Hezbollah fighters on the Syrian Golan Heights, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday. Netanyahu said Tehran’s attempts to entrench itself along Israel’s borders was one of the biggest emerging security threats facing the Jewish state. “Alongside Iran’s direct guidance of Hezbollah’s actions in the north and Hamas’s in the south, Iran is trying also to develop a third front on the Golan Heights via the thousands of Hezbollah fighters who are in southern Syria and over which Iran holds direct command,” he said. Speaking at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said his ministers were to be briefed on “the security challenges developing around us, first and foremost Iran’s attempt to increase its foothold on Israel’s borders even as it works to arm itself with nuclear weapons.”

Headline: Al Qaeda-Linked Al-Shabaab Calls for Attacks on ‘Jewish-Owned’ Malls in UK, Canada & USA
The Somali al-Shabaab terror group linked to Al Qaeda has called on Muslims in the West to “answer the call” and attack “American and Jewish-owned” shopping malls in the UK, US and Canada. In the 77-minute video the speaker, whose face was covered, said, “We call upon our Muslim brothers, particularly those in the West, to answer the call of Allah and target the disbelievers wherever they are,” said a speaker wearing a military jacket, face covered. Suggesting the Mall of America – the largest mall in the United States – the speaker displayed coordinates for the site on the screen. The “twin cities” of S. Paul and Minneapolis are home to the largest population of Somali immigrants in the U.S. More than a few are known to have traveled from there to the Mideast and Africa to fight with radical Islamist terrorists. The threat has become a raison d’etre for America’s Department of Homeland Security, which was slated for shutdown this week. DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson said Sunday that the propaganda video released Saturday by al-Shabaab, made clear “why I need a budget.” The video also called for attacks on Oxford Street in London and two Westfield Malls in Stratford and White City as well as Canada’s West Edmonton Mall in Alberta – the largest shopping mall in North America.

Headline: Israeli Utility Begins West Bank Power Cuts
Israel’s state-owned electric company briefly cut power to two Palestinian cities in the occupied West Bank on Monday to press for payment of what it said was $492 million owed by the Palestinian government. “The Israel Electric Corporation limited for 45 minutes today the supply of electricity to five power lines in Nablus and Jenin,” the company said in a statement, adding that further cuts were possible. Nablus Mayor Ghassan Al-Shaka’a said the power went out in parts of the city and was gradually restored. “This is collective punishment,” he told Reuters, calling the blackouts politically motivated. Israel Electric Corp said in a statement it had “long warned … about a debt that has ballooned to more than 1.9 billion shekels over the years — but no solution has been found”. Shaka’a told Reuters that Israeli power cuts would do more damage to a Palestinian economy already hit by Israel’s withholding of the monthly transfer of more than $100 million in tax revenues that it collects on behalf of the PA.

Headline: ISIS commander murdered outside Arsal
ISIS is preparing military plans to declare an Islamic emirate in Lebanon very soon to serve as a geographical extension of the so-called “Islamic State” announced by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Iraq last year, security sources said. ISIS fighters have demanded support from the militant group in northern Syria to achieve this goal, the sources said. They added that the ISIS command has begun preparations to set up a military organizational committee tasked with running Lebanese affairs and considering Lebanon as part of its state. However, ISIS is facing difficulties in choosing a Lebanese commander for this mission. The reported appointment of the fugitive preacher Ahmad al-Assir for this post was merely a trial balloon, the sources said. They added that arrangements to form an ISIS command for the Lebanon emirate were taking place under the supervision of the group commander Khalaf al-Zeyabi Halous, codenamed “Abu Musaab Halous,” a Syrian who had played a key role in the ISIS offensive to capture the Raqqa province in 2013. In the meantime, an influential party in Lebanon has received important information indicating that ISIS is bent on recruiting more suicide bombers equipped with explosives belts to target Shiite gatherings in Beirut and the southern suburbs as well as French and Western interests, while the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, which was targeted with a deadly twin suicide attack in November 2013, is still vulnerable to another assault.

Headline: Egypt Suggests Pan-Arab Force to Fight ISIS
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has called for a pan-Arab military force to fight the Islamic State (ISIS). Speaking a week after Egypt bombed ISIS positions in Libya in retaliation for the terrorist army’s execution of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, al-Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said he believes in “coordination with our Arab brothers.” Judging by the Egyptian military’s far from superior past, it is no wonder the former general wants allies. The attack on Libya last week boosted Al-Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s popularity but also raises questions why he did not act sooner, before the hostages were beheaded. The aerial strikes also served to bury to put on the back burner, temporarily, at home, where he has been harshly criticized for detaining thousands of people for alleged terrorism during the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Sisi admitted in his televised speech on Sunday, “I am sure there are many innocent people inside prisons. Soon many of them will be released according to the available permissions.”

Syria Headline: Syria forces execute 10 children of rebels: monitor
Ten children were among at least 48 people killed in a Syrian village this week when regime forces executed six families of rebel fighters, a monitoring group said on Saturday. Tuesday’s executions took place in the village of Rityan, north of second city Aleppo, after regime forces entered that day during an offensive aimed at cutting rebel supply lines to the Turkish border, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The Britain-based monitor said that villagers had discovered the bodies when they returned to their homes after the regime forces withdrew a day later. Five women and 13 rebels from the six families were among the dead. “The troops and militiamen knew exactly where they lived thanks to the informers who accompanied them,” Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said. “There was no resistance except in one house where a rebel opened fire at troops before being executed along with his family,” he added.

Syria Headline: Four killed in twin suicide bombings south of Damascus
Two simultaneous suicide attacks killed four people and wounded 13 on Monday in southern Damascus near a Shiite shrine, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported. The agency, quoting police, said the twin attack took place at a security checkpoint near the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab, a granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammed. “A civilian car had stopped at the checkpoint… and a terrorist got out wearing an explosive vest which he detonated,” SANA said, adding that seconds later a man who had remained in the car blew it up. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the bombing targeted a checkpoint manned by a pro-regime militia, just 10 kilometres (six miles) east of Damascus and on the road to the international airport. The Britain-based Observatory also reported that a rocket hit the Adra prison northeast of Damascus on Monday, killing four people and wounding 15. It did not say if the casualties were prisoners, guards or visitors.

Iraq Headline: Separate bombings leave 19 dead, injure dozens in Iraq
At least 19 people have been killed and dozens injured in separate bombings in Iraq, including a truck bomb attack on Shia fighters in the country, police say. The deadliest attack involved a bomber who drove his explosives-laden truck into a manned checkpoint near the northern city of Tikrit on Sunday, killing eight Shia fighters and wounding at least 15 others. Tikrit, situated 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of Baghdad, remains under control of ISIL Takfiri terrorists, though the Iraqi government and Shia groups maintain control of areas and roads leading into the city. In a separate incident, seven people were killed and 14 others wounded when a car bomb exploded near a chain of car shops in Baghdad’s western district of Baiyaa, police said. Elsewhere, an explosion near an outdoor market in the town of Yusufiyah, located about 32 kilometers (20 miles) south of Baghdad, left two people dead and 10 others injured. Another bomb blast on a commercial street in Baghdad’s southeastern district of Zafaraniyah killed two people and wounded six others. Meanwhile, authorities discovered four bodies with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in different areas of Baghdad. Dead bodies lying on the streets have become a common occurrence in recent years amid the widespread sectarian violence engulfing Iraq.

Iraq Headline: France deploys aircraft carrier against ISIS in Iraq – ministry
France has deployed its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) in Iraq, as part of the US-led military campaign, French media report, citing government officials. “The integration of the Charles de Gaulle in the operation… (in Iraq) begins this morning,” a member of Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian’s staff told AFP. The agency reports that the first Rafale fighter jet took off from the aircraft carrier on Monday morning. The warship was sailing about 200 kilometres (120 miles) off the coast north of Bahrain in the direction of Iraq. Jets sent from the carrier reach Iraq twice as fast as those, flying from their base in the United Arab Emirates. France announced sending the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier for use in military operations against the Islamic State in Iraq in mid-January. The decision was made in the wake of the deadly Paris attacks, when Islamist gunmen killed 17 people at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket.

Kurdish Headline: ISIS Releases Video Purportedly Showing Caged Kurdish Fighters
The latest video from the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group purportedly shows 21 men believed to be Kurdish Peshmerga fighters paraded down an Iraqi street in cages set in the backs of 21 white pickup trucks. In the video released Saturday, titled “Healing the Chest of Those Who Believe,” the men wear orange jumpsuits and ISIS’s Black Standard flag is visible numerous times. All of the militants are dressed in black with only their eyes showing, similar to their appearance in other ISIS videos. A large crowd gathers in the street to view the procession, and many people take photographs. The video is similar to two others released by the terrorist group: The cage first appeared in the video showing Jordanian pilot Muadh al-Kasasbeh’s execution, and last week a video surfaced of 17 Kurdish Peshmerga being forced by militants to walk through an Iraqi town. The latter has called into question when and where the video released on Saturday was filmed, and whether it is linked to last week’s forced walk. The SITE Intel Group, a jihadist threat watchdog, believes the cage parade was filmed in Kirkuk, Iraq. Officials have not confirmed the authenticity of the video. The fate of the men also remains in question.

Headline: Isis: Islamic State ‘moving Iraq’s HQs from Mosul to Hawija’ ahead of US-prepared offensive
Headline: The terrifying rise of ISIS: Map that shows how terror group’s tentacles now reach from Algeria to Afghanistan
Jihadi group Islamic State (Isis) is said to be relocating its Iraqi headquarters some 150km to the south in the Sunni-dominated town of Hawija, Sunni tribal fighters in Iraq told IBTimes US. IS has been running its operations in Iraq from Mosul, the country’s second largest city, since taking it over last year. Earlier in February, US officials disclosed that a coordinate military mission to retake the city involving some 25,000 Iraqi troops and Kurdish fighters was being set up. In preparation for the offensive, which is expected to start in April or May, the US has been providing weapons and training to Iraqi forces, while coalition warplanes bombarded IS positions in Mosul. Meanwhile, however, the Islamist group has consolidated its hold on Hawija, which lies some 35 miles east of the oil rich Kirkuk and the surrounding area. Since seizing the town in June 2014, IS has won the support of local residents and has recently started to increase its military presence in order to create its new Iraqi central command there, according to IBTimes US.
Last week’s Pentagon briefing outlined plans for Iraqi and Kurdish forces to retake Mosul from Islamic State, also known as ISIS. This strategy largely assumes that if ISIS is expelled from Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, pushed out of Anbar province and degraded in Syria, the organization will collapse because its narrative of victory will be tarnished and its legitimacy as a “Caliphate” will end. That may have been true some months ago. But ISIS has adapted more quickly than U.S. strategy has succeeded, and it is pursuing a deliberate strategy to offset its tactical losses in Iraq and Syria with territorial gains in the Mideast and globally. ISIS’s often stated objective is to “remain and expand.” This is not a mere defensive measure to preserve its combat power from destruction. Nor is it a mere recruiting slogan designed to replace some 6,000 ISIS fighters that Washington estimates have been killed since U.S.-led coalition airstrikes began in August. As Ms. Gambhir concludes in her recent Institute for the Study of War “ISIS Global Intelligence Summary,” open-source reporting indicates that ISIS is executing a complex global strategy across three geographic rings- the “Interior Ring” is at the center of the fighting and includes terrain the group is named for, specifically Iraq and al Sham—i.e., the Levantine states of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel-Palestine. The “Near Abroad Ring” includes the rest of the Middle East and North Africa, extending east to Afghanistan and Pakistan. ISIS has claimed auxiliary operations or established what it calls “governorates” across this region. The “Far Abroad Ring” includes the rest of the world, specifically Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Here ISIS is most focused on nearby Europe, which it terms “Rome” as a reference to the Byzantine empire, the great power adversary in decline during the rise of the early Islamic caliphs. ISIS distinguishes between established Muslim lands and those that host Muslim diaspora communities, and it uses different but interlocking strategies in each ring to expand its influence.

Headline: Ukraine says cannot withdraw heavy weapons as attacks persist
Kiev accused pro-Russian rebels of opening fire with rockets and artillery at villages in southeastern Ukraine on Monday, all but burying a week-old European-brokered ceasefire deal. The Ukrainian military said it could not pull weapons from the front as required under the tenuous truce, as long as its troops were still under attack. The Ukrainian currency, nearly in freefall this month, fell a further 10 percent on Monday on fears that the truce could collapse. The central bank said it would impose import curbs to sustain the hryvnia. The value of Ukrainian debt also fell, with bonds now trading at 40 cents on the dollar. The reported shooting came closer to killing off the truce, intended to end fighting that has killed more than 5,600 people, which rebels ignored last week to capture the strategic town of Debaltseve in a punishing defeat for Kiev. Western countries still hope the truce can be salvaged if the rebels halt having achieved that objective. But Germany, whose Chancellor Angela Merkel was the driving force behind the peace deal, said in unusually strong terms that it was now clear that the ceasefire was not being implemented.

Headline: Russia offers Iran new air defense missile deal
Headline: Proposed Deal With Iran Would Enable it to Develop Nuclear Weapons
Russia has offered Iran its latest Antey-2500 missiles, the head of Russian state defence conglomerate Rostec said on Monday according to media reports, after a deal to supply less powerful S-300 missiles was dropped under Western pressure. Sergei Chemezov said Tehran was now considering the offer, TASS news agency reported. Russia scrapped a contract to supply Iran with S-300 surface-to-air missiles under Western pressure in 2010, and Iran later filed a $4-billion international arbitration suit against Russia in Geneva, but the two countries remain allies. The United States and Israel lobbied Russia to block the missile sale, saying it could be used to shield Iran’s nuclear facilities from possible future air strikes. There was no immediate response to Chemezov’s comments from Iran, Israel or the United States.

Headline: Hezbollah suffers Aleppo losses
debkafile’s exclusive military and intelligence sources have discovered a large-scale Iranian airlift is in progress for bringing thousands of Shiite fighters to the Syrian Mediterranean port of Latakia to reinforce the Syrian army forces falling back from the key city of Aleppo. Some of the flights are taking off from Baghdad airport. The Syrian rebels in heavy fighting Thursday and Friday, Feb. 19-20 repulsed a Hizballah-backed Syrian army offensive to recapture the town and took scores of Hizballah fighters prisoner. The incoming reinforcements are being transferred directly to the Aleppo battle-front in an effort to stabilize it and reverse the Syrian army’s retreat. The incoming reinforcements are made up of Iraqi, Afghan and Pakistani Shiite militiamen. The fact that Tehran was able to raise this force in less than 24 hours from the Syrian army’s defeat in Aleppo demonstrates Iran’s total military and strategic commitment to swift action for averting a Syrian-Hizballah retreat from a key front of the four-year old civil war. The Iranian planes are taking two routes to Syria, starting out either in Baghdad or Tehran. In Baghdad, they touch down in the military section of the international airport and collect the Iraqi Shiite militiamen destined for the Syrian battlefield. This step necessitated the consent of the Iraqi government and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. The Iranian operation therefore exposes two exceedingly disturbing developments which are causing Israel’s army chiefs to burn the midnight oil: The fall of the Abadi government under Tehran’s sway is one; and Iraq’s direct involvement for the first time in the military actions of the Syrian civil war.

A bombing by suspected Islamic State (IS) militants in Libya has killed at least 40 people and wounded dozens in the eastern town of al-Qubbah. Three bombs exploded, targeting a petrol station, a police station and the home of parliamentary speaker Agila Salah, a security source told BBC News. According to an online statement, IS fighters said they struck in retaliation for Egyptian air strikes. Egypt launched strikes after IS killed 21 Egyptian Christians it had abducted. The al-Qubbah attack is one of the deadliest in Libya since the toppling of Col Muammar Gaddafi four years ago. Meanwhile, Libya’s Islamic State affiliate claimed responsibility for an attack on the Iranian embassy in Libya’s capital on Sunday. Two bombs detonated at the facility’s main gate but produced no casualties, according to Libyan and Iranian officials. Marzieh Afkham, Iran’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, condemned the attack, saying “a handmade bomb in front of the residence of the former Iranian ambassador in Tripoli only led to trivial material damages.” The Iranian ambassador was not in the building at the time of the attack, and Iran said the facility has been empty since operations were suspended there in 2012. A similar attack last month on the empty Algerian embassy in Tripoli wounded three people and was claimed by Libya’s IS affiliate.

Headline: Islamic State ‘Caliphate’ In Libya Depends On Tunisian Foreign Fighters And Desert Training Camps
Headline: Egypt sends planes to Tunisia to evacuate Libya returnees
The Arab Spring’s success story has turned into a one of the most fertile breeding grounds for fighters joining the Islamic State group. Tunisia, where a 2011 revolution overthrew a corrupt regime and sparked a season of Middle Eastern upheavals, has emerged as a relatively stable and well-off country with a secular, democratic government. But that narrative is undermined by Tunisia’s newfound role as the prime supplier of manpower to the Islamic State group — and its proximity to Libya may turn it into a major source of combatants in that country’s civil war, which threatens to pull in Egypt and European countries. Tunisia has been the number one provider of foreign fighters in Syria so far. As of last October, there were an estimated 3,000 Tunisians who had traveled to Iraq and Syria and joined extremist groups like ISIS. Many of them were trained in the country, where a lawless desert area on the border with Libya offers ideal conditions for jihadis to train undisturbed. For years, the Tunisian desert has been home to training camps for various jihadist groups, and the army has been unable to shut them down. Camps were flush with Libyan weapons smuggled out when Moammar Gadhafi’s regime collapsed in 2011, and Tunisians were the most common trainee. At least one of those camps now belongs to ISIS and, until recently, fighters were trained there and then sent to Syria through Turkey with the help of a recruiter who was usually Tunisian. Earlier this month, the government reported that it was able to stop 9,000 would-be fighters en route to that camp, but that 540 already had completed their training and left the country.

Hundreds of Turkish forces in armoured vehicles have entered war-torn northern Syria to evacuate troops guarding a historic tomb, demolishing it and moving the remains to a different site. The remains of Suleyman Shah, who died in the 13th Century, were moved to a site in Syria closer to the border. Turkey considered the shrine sovereign territory. Islamic State (IS) militants in the area had threatened to attack it last year. The government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, which has lost control over much of northern Syria as a result of the country’s civil war, condemned the incursion as “flagrant aggression”. It said that Turkey had informed its Istanbul consulate about the operation but had not waited for Syria’s consent. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his government and the armed forces had carried out a “successful operation which is beyond all kinds of appreciation”.

A girl suicide bomber as young as 10 blew herself up at a busy market in the northeast Nigerian town of Potiskum on Sunday, killing four others and seriously wounding 46 people, a witness and hospital records show. The girl, who appeared no more than 10 years old, got out of a tricycle taxi in front of the cell phone market and detonated her explosives on Potiskum’s main market day, according to survivor Anazumi Saleh, who suffered injuries to his head. Officials have not immediately ascertained the girl’s identification or her age from her remains. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing but the attack bears all the signs of similar bombings by Boko Haram and raises fears that Nigeria’s home-grown Islamic extremists are using kidnap victims as bombers. It is unclear whether the girls and young women in many recent attacks have set off the explosions themselves, or whether the detonations are controlled remotely. Separately, a new group releasing propaganda for Boko Haram denied a Ministry of Defense statement that troops Friday seized back control of the border garrison town of Baga. It has been reported that military from Nigeria and neighboring Chad are retaking towns and villages held for months by Boko Haram even as the extremists attack other northeastern communities. Scores of civilians have been killed in such attacks in recent days.

Headline: Yemen’s Shiite rebels threaten to arrest, charge ministers
A bomb exploded near a military academy in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Monday evening, security sources told Reuters, in a neighborhood that is a main stronghold of Shi’ite Muslim Houthi fighters. The blast did not cause any casualties and was being investigated, a security official was quoted as saying to the defense ministry’s official news outlet, 26 September. Security in Yemen has frayed since the Houthis formally took power in the capital this month, raising fears of an all-out civil war and of an increase in attacks by radical Sunni militants loyal to al Qaeda. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – regarded by the United States as the most dangerous affiliate of the global militant group – has taken credit for many past bombings against the Houthis, whom they regard as apostates.

Headline: Myanmar says more than 130 dead in fighting near China border
Myanmar’s army Saturday said more than 130 people had died in a deepening battle with rebels in the northeast, declaring it would not rest until stability was restored to the border area which tens of thousands have fled. Fighting raged in the remote Kokang region of Shan state where conflict erupted on February 9 with insurgent attacks on soldiers that triggered a military onslaught, prompting at least 30,000 civilians to escape into bordering China. In the first press conference since clashes began, defence ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Mya Htun Oo said the conflict had killed 61 military and police officers, and around 72 insurgents. More than 100 military members have been injured since fighting broke out. “The fighting is strong… Because of serious fighting, our helicopters are helping,” he told reporters in the capital Naypyidaw. “We will not retreat until we get stability.” He did not provide figures on civilian deaths in and around Laukkai town, where the conflict has centred, as efforts to evacuate remaining communities have been hampered by an attack Tuesday on a local Red Cross convoy which wounded two aid workers — leading relief groups to officially suspend rescue missions.

Headline: Who Won the Greek Showdown in Europe?
“Complete” surrender by the Greeks. “Major victory” for the eurocrats. To those who have followed Greece’s financial crisis for five years, there wasn’t much doubt who won the latest round Friday when the region’s finance ministers struck a deal to keep the bailout on track. Even German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, who said he didn’t “want to make it more difficult for them,” concluded Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will have a “difficult” time selling the agreement at home. That’s because Tsipras’s populist rhetoric of ending austerity was overpowered by the united front he faced. A “complete political surrender to the world of reality” was how Erik Nielsen, London-based global chief economist of UniCredit Bank AG, put it. Societe Generale SA and Berenberg Bank both labeled it a “u-turn” by Tsipras, who won election Jan. 25 promising an end to budget cutting. “If the deal holds, it would be a major victory of common sense over populism,” said Holger Schmieding, chief economist at Berenberg in London, who cut his probability of Greece leaving the euro area to 25 percent from 35 percent. “The taming of Tsipras would show that Europe’s ‘tough love’ approach is working.” While Tsipras says skirting national insolvency meant “we won a battle, but not the war,” economists say he may not have managed even that. That’s because the basics of the existing aid deal he fought against are still intact.

Headline: Oil slide could trigger Opec emergency meeting
Headline: Obama expected to get Keystone bill on Tuesday
Members of Opec have discussed holding an emergency meeting if crude continues to slide, according to Nigeria’s oil minister, in a sign of their growing alarm over the impact of a lower oil price on their economies. The comments by Diezani Alison-Madueke come three months after the cartel’s decision to hold production at 30m barrels a day, even as the oil price has plunged since mid-June. That move, driven by Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies, marked a sharp deviation from Opec’s traditional strategy of adjusting production to keep prices high. The group’s main objective is now to defend market share, despite dramatically reduced revenues. The price plunge has forced energy companies all over the world to rewrite their investment plans, and caused a major slowdown in the US shale oil industry. But it has also thrown the fiscal balances of big oil producers such as Nigeria, Venezuela and Russia into disarray. “Almost all Opec countries, except perhaps the Arab bloc, are very uncomfortable,” said Ms Alison-Madueke, who as president of Opec is responsible for liaising with member countries and the producer group’s secretary-general in the event of an emergency meeting. If the price “slips any further it is highly likely that I will have to call an extraordinary meeting of Opec in the next six weeks or so”, she said in an interview with the Financial Times. “We’re already talking with member countries.” But market analysts say it is highly unlikely that Saudi Arabia, Opec’s de facto leader, will agree to such a meeting.

Pestilence & Plagues Luke 21:11 & Revelation 6:8 “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” (Luke) “So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death (Thanatos in Greek meaning the death of the body whether natural or violent), and by the beasts of the earth” (Revelation)
Headline: India struggles with deadly swine flu outbreak
Indian health officials are struggling to contain a swine flu outbreak that has killed more than 700 people since it took hold in mid-December. The number of cases has doubled since last week to more than 11,000. Critics have accused the government of failing to distribute medicines, but officials insisted the situation was under control. This year’s outbreak of the H1N1 virus, which causes swine flu, is the deadliest in India since 2010. The northern state of Rajasthan has been worst affected. Health authorities across India have launched TV and radio campaigns to tell people about precautions they can take to avoid the flu. Health Minister JP Nadda attempted to rebuff reports of drug shortages. “If any medicine store refuses to give medicines after showing a medical prescription, it should be reported to the authorities and action will be taken,” he said. He said there was no need to panic, and insisted the government was monitoring the situation closely.

Headline: Man’s death leads to discovery of new virus in Kansas, CDC reports
The CDC has discovered a new virus that may have contributed to a Kansas man’s death, the agency announced Friday. Named the Bourbon virus after the county where the patient lived, the virus is likely spread by tick or insect bites, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. A 50-year-old man suffered multiple tick bites in the spring of 2014 while working outside on his property, the CDC said in an article published in the agency’s “Infectious Diseases” journal. The man fell ill over the next two days, went to a doctor on the third day, was hospitalized and died of a heart attack 11 days after becoming sick, the CDC said. Though the CDC only has one case to work with, the agency said “it is likely that Bourbon virus is spread through tick or other insect bites.” The Bourbon virus is part of a group of viruses linked to tick or insect bites in Europe, Asia and Africa, the CDC said. This is the first time a virus in this group, known as thogotoviruses, has been known to cause illness in the United States, the CDC said.

Headline: Coronavirus (MERS) toll hits 385 in Saudi Arabia with two new deaths
Two people have died from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus, pushing the total number of deaths from the virus in the Kingdom to 385. Another two people have been infected with the virus and two others have recovered from the disease in various parts of the Kingdom within 24 hours, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday. chairman of the ministry’s command and control center Dr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Bin Saeed said the ministry has been using the Hisn electronic system in all government and private hospitals to check all suspected coronavirus cases. He said the cases will be kept in the hospitals until the medical checkups have confirmed whether they are infected or not. Keiji Fukuda, assistant director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), in a press conference in Riyadh on Saturday appreciated the measures taken by the ministry to contain the spread of the virus. He said he had noted a remarkable improvement in these measures since his last visit. “There are command and control centers in about 20 areas and the arrangements for tests are commendable,” he added. Fukuda described the virus to still be ambiguous and said infections were being reported in the Kingdom and some other countries. He said: “The WHO is still dealing with the coronavirus as an emergency event which is not causing international anxiety. “A number of world organizations have joined hands to curb it.” Since the virus was first discovered in the Kingdom in September 2012, a total of 902 people have contracted it and almost 390 patients have died of it since then.

Increase in Drugs Revelation 9:21 “And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”
Headline: 12 hospitalized due to MDMA overdose on Wesleyan campus
Ten Wesleyan University students and two visitors received medical attention after taking a party drug known as Molly over the weekend on campus, including some who attended a rave music show, school officials said Monday. Eight people were still hospitalized Monday, university President Michael Roth said. The school became aware of the incident early Sunday morning after several students showed up seeking treatment at a hospital near campus, university spokeswoman Lauren Rubenstein said. Two students had been flown by helicopter for treatment in Hartford, 20 miles north of the campus in Middletown. Molly is a term used to describe a refined form of Ecstasy, a synthetic drug also known as MDMA. It can drive up body temperature and cause liver, kidney or cardiovascular failure. Dr. Mark Neavyn, chief of toxicology at Hartford Hospital, said users who believe they are taking Molly are often receiving different kinds of designer drugs, with ranges of purity and potency making the health risks unpredictable. He said testing is underway to confirm what drugs the Wesleyan patients took.

Headline: Brazil water shortage: Sao Paulo devastated by its worst drought on record
As Brazil continues to battle a historic drought, millions of people in its largest city are about to run out of water. São Paulo, home to around 20 million, is experiencing its lowest rainfall since 1930, and new water-saving measures have been introduced in an attempt to manage the escalating catastrophe. Services including schools and hospitals are having to adapt to the country’s newfound water struggles, with The Telegraph reporting that doctors have even been forced to cut short dialyses treatment for kidney patients.Current reserves stand at just 10 per cent – known as the “dead volume” – and the government has warned that it could get worse in the coming months. The current crisis has reached a point that actual water rationing may be necessary, with state governor Geraldo Alckmin last month admitting it was already happening.

Headline: Dozens of new craters suspected in northern Russia
Respected Moscow scientist Professor Vasily Bogoyavlensky has called for ‘urgent’ investigation of the new phenomenon amid safety fears. Until now, only three large craters were known about in northern Russia with several scientific sources speculating last year that heating from above the surface due to unusually warm climatic conditions, and from below, due to geological fault lines, led to a huge release of gas hydrates, so causing the formation of these craters in Arctic regions. Two of the newly-discovered large craters – also known as funnels to scientists – have turned into lakes, revealed Professor Bogoyavlensky, deputy director of the Moscow-based Oil and Gas Research Institute, part of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Examination using satellite images has helped Russian experts understand that the craters are more widespread than was first realised, with one large hole surrounded by as many as 20 mini-craters, The Siberian Times can reveal. ‘We know now of seven craters in the Arctic area,’ he said. ‘Five are directly on the Yamal peninsula, one in Yamal Autonomous district, and one is on the north of the Krasnoyarsk region, near the Taimyr peninsula. ‘We have exact locations for only four of them. The other three were spotted by reindeer herders. But I am sure that there are more craters on Yamal, we just need to search for them. ‘I would compare this with mushrooms: when you find one mushroom, be sure there are few more around. I suppose there could be 20 to 30 craters more.’ He is anxious to investigate the craters further because of serious concerns for safety in these regions.

Last Wednesday I finished giving a 22 week Prophecy seminar at Trinity Church in Lompoc California. In part of that seminar I cover the prophecy you see below concerning the mass deaths of birds, fish, and, animals being reported around the world. Before I finished that seminar I told those who attended to please watch the news because you are going to see more news concerning this issue. As a matter of fact I warned them to expect even more reports as we are getting closer to the second coming. I finished the seminar on the 11th of February and since then we have already seen 11 new reports! The reports you will see below are the ones I just added to my book which as you can see from the link above you can read it today for free. Most people over look this prophecy but what is happening to the fish, birds, and animals is a very serious issue as it concerns the food we eat. When you read the chapter in my book you will see there are hundreds of reports showing us little by little our food sources are getting smaller and smaller. Add to this the fact that the bee population is still declining and you have a major disaster in the making. With out the bees much of the crops will disappear from the market place! In Revelation 6:6 we see that people will have to work all day long for one very small meal. One can see down the road as the food supply decreases the price of food will sky rocket.

Headline: UN Calls for a 3 Year Truce for Hamas to Rebuild
A top United Nations (UN) official warned on Thursday that another war will break out in Gaza, calling on Israel to lift its “blockade” and for Hamas – the terrorist organization with the genocide of Jews written in its charter – to stop fighting. The UN also called for an additional $705 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza and Palestinian Authority (PA) held Judea and Samaria, with most of it for Gaza which was highly damaged in Hamas’s third full-blown terror war on Israel last summer. “Right now, things are not going well, and we’re very concerned about the possibility of a further conflict,” James Rawley, UN humanitarian chief for the Palestinian territories, told AFP. “But it’s not inevitable…as long as several things happen.” “To have a complete recovery of Gaza, even to go back to where we were in July (before the 50-day conflict) requires more than construction material going in. It requires a lifting of the blockade,” said Rawley. Rawley called for a “reconstruction hudna (truce) for three to five years” to allow rehabilitation of the increasingly unstable coastal enclave. Meanwhile the UN, at a news conference in Ramallah, said 75% of the additional aid it needs would be destined for Gaza, while the rest would be allocated to Judea and Samaria. Delivery of building materials to reconstruct damaged homes had increased significantly after a slow start, Rawley said, with “good cooperation” from Israel, which controls two of Gaza’s three crossings. Egypt controls the third.

Headline: IDF security assessment: The Palestinian Authority can collapse at any moment
This coming Monday IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz will end his four year term and will be replaced by Maj.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot. Waiting on Eisenkot’s desk are some chilling security assessments including the potential risk that the security situation in the West Bank will deteriorate in the near future. Over the past weeks, in the context of Gantz’s farewells to the various IDF divisions, the outgoing Chief of Staff spoke again and again about the fragile security reality in the West Bank. Gantz even spoke of the influence of politics on the territory, probably in reference to the upcoming Israeli elections and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ unilateral moves in international bodies. Another cause of the “heating up” of the West Bank is Israel’s decision not to transfer tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority in response to its ICC membership – a move that is bringing about the collapse of the Palestinian economy. Against this background, the army has told the government that at any given moment the Palestinian Authority can collapse. In one of the scenarios that the IDF presented, a small localized security incident, like an altercation between settlers and Palestinians, or the throwing of a Molotov cocktail could quickly escalate to rioting in the Galilee and the Triangle area. With the weakened Palestinian Authority a situation like this is liable to lead to terrorist organizations taking control of the West Bank.

Headline: Congress Calls for Expedited Weapons for Jordan to Fight IS
Members of Congress are calling on the Obama administration to expedite weapons to Jordan, an important Arab ally on the frontlines of the fight against Islamic State extremists. Jordan has intensified its fight against the jihadist group, vowing to wipe out the Islamic State, after militants burned alive a captured Jordanian pilot. The Hashemite Kingdom is ramping up its airstrikes, hitting Islamic State training camps, barracks and ammunition depots. This tempo requires more weapons and leading U.S. members of Congress, like Republican Senator John McCain, are calling for increased support. “This committee’s immediate concern is to ensure Jordan has all the equipment and resources necessary to continue taking the fight directly to ISIL,” he said. Jordanian officials say they want revenge after IS posted a horrific video of a captured Jordanian pilot who was burned alive. The same day the video was released, Jordan’s King Abdullah was in Washington seeking precision munitions, aircraft parts and additional night-vision equipment. Analysts say the arms transfers are crucial because Jordan is such an important ally in the fight against IS. “Jordan is the best partner of the United States in this war,” said David Schenker, who directs the Program on Arab Politics at The Washington Institute. “They are critical. They are the base of operations of all air operations targeting IS in Syria.”

Headline: Iran-backed Hizbullah shows off U.S. Abrams tank on YouTube
Iran’s leading proxy is promoting it acquisition of a U.S.-origin main battle tank. A Hizbullah video showed a 60-vehicle convoy in Iraq with the M1A1 main battle tank, Long War Journal reported. The video, posted on YouTube, showed an Abrams MBT as well as the U.S.-origin M113 armored personnel carriers and Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected or MRAP. The convoy of Hizbullah Brigades, said to be inspired and linked to Lebanon’s Hizbullah, also showed the Safir 4×4 armored vehicle developed by Iran. Hizbullah flew its flag over the Abrams and other U.S. vehicles. The Abrams was seen on a U.S.-origin tank transporter. The video did not indicate where Hizbullah acquired the U.S. armored vehicles. The Iraq Army lost scores of M1A1 in the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant offensive in the north in June 2014, Middle East Newsline reported. The United States has acknowledged that more than 2,000 American-origin vehicles, most of them Humvees, were captured by ISIL in its takeover of Mosul.

The Al-Qaeda-affiliated Abdullah Azzam Brigades is reportedly planning attacks across Lebanon and plotting the assassination of political and non-political figures, local newspaper As-Safir reported Friday. The report, citing information obtained by security and military agencies, said Abdullah Azzam Brigades cells were preparing to carry out bomb attacks and fire rockets on a Lebanese city and its surrounding, and also on a main highway linking a Lebanese region with Beirut. This has prompted authorities to take measures, including informing a number of political and non-political figures about the need to take extreme caution and restrict their movements, As-Safir cited a security source as saying. The report said a Syrian national identified only by his initials F.Sh. has rigged three cars with explosives: A silver Kia, a dark blue Nissan Maxima and a BMW X5.

Syria Headline: Syria opposition calls for help against Assad as death toll rises
The head of Syria’s main opposition-in-exile group called Thursday on world leaders to take “immediate action” to end government attacks on rebel-held suburbs of Damascus, amid reports that some 150 people have been killed in government airstrikes in the past 10 days. Khaled Khoja, leader of the National Coalition, made the appeal at a news conference held from the group’s base in Turkey. The government has been pounding the eastern Ghouta suburbs of Damascus for days as part of a military campaign against rebel-held districts east and south of the capital Damascus. Douma, a sprawling town east of Damascus, has taken the brunt of the airstrikes. “The Assad regime’s killing of children and the elderly with rockets, barrel bombs, and toxic gases is as a crime as horrible as ISIS’ laughtering and burning of people alive,” Khoja said. He said Assad’s “barbaric assault” on Douma constitutes a war crime and urged the U.N. to force the Syrian leader to stop indiscriminate bombardment of rebel-held territory.

Iraq Headline: Iraqi Army Repels Attack on Base Hosting U.S. Marines
Iraqi security forces on Friday repelled an attack by Islamic State insurgents against an air base in Anbar province where U.S. Marines are training Iraqi troops, Iraqi and U.S. military officials said. Militants from the jihadist group had attacked the Ain al-Asad base and the nearby town of al-Baghdadi a day earlier, leading to sporadic clashes in the town overnight. Al-Baghdadi has been besieged for months by Islamic State, which captured swathes of northern and western Iraq last year, prompting a campaign of U.S.-led airstrikes and the deployment of hundreds of U.S. military advisers to the country. A U.S. defense official said the Iraqi forces had stopped the attack and re-secured the facility. “Coalition forces were several kilometers from the attack and at no stage were they under direct threat from this action,” the official said. About 320 U.S. Marines are training members of the Iraqi 7th Division at the base, which has been struck by mortar fire on at least one previous occasion since December. Iraq’s Defense Ministry said on its website the Iraqi army killed eight assailants near the base, which is about 85 km (50 miles) northwest of Ramadi. An Iraqi military official in Baghdad told Reuters the insurgents had taken advantage of a lull in the airstrikes, caused by poor weather, to launch the offensive. He said Islamic State had been cleared from most of al-Baghdadi, with the remaining fighting centered around a police station. ***This Al-Baghdadi is a TOWN, not to be confused with al-Baghdadi – the leader of ISIS
Iraq Headline: Iraqi Terrorists Destroy Synagogue, Take Over Ezra’s Tomb
Terrorists in Iraq have seized a major synagogue and holy site in Amara, the Elder of Ziyon blog reported Wednesday – and have already destroyed much of it. According to the Iraqi media site quoted by the blog, the synagogue will become the new southern headquarters of the terrorists, whose name and affiliation are unspecified. All roads to the synagogue have been blocked and journalists have been banned from reporting on the takeover. The media site also added that Ezra’s tomb in the Amara area has also been stripped of its Jewish identity, and may possibly have been destroyed. The move is yet another blow to Iraq’s Jewish community, which the blog notes is down to a mere ten Jews – despite 2,500 years of Jewish life which began with the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem. While both reports decline to specify the name of the terror group, news of the demolition follows multiple reports that Islamic State (ISIS) has systemically destroyed multiple Jewish holy sites in Iraq.

Iraq Headline: The battle for Mosul.. Joint forces to storm ISIS units
The Peshmerga forces have arrived in the outskirts of the city of Mosul, in northern Iraq, which is under the Islamic State’s (IS/ISIS) control, amid preparations for storming the city with support of the U.S.-led international coalition, local sources from Mosul reported on Thursday. In the meantime, the so-called Popular Mobilization Forces (armed Shiite factions and volunteers) arrived in the city of Dohuk in the Kurdistan Region to be trained in a camp there and then join the fight against IS militants. Kurdish military officials said that this ground attack will be widespread to target the IS strongholds, particularly those located between Syria’s al-Bukamal and Iraq’s al-Qaem areas, pointing out that several military units from Jordan, Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia will take part in the operations. Iranian and Kurdish special units will support the Iraqi army in the invasion of the IS-held provinces of Anbar and Nineveh. On the other hand, the IS group in Mosul is studying a plan for the upcoming battle, taking into consideration the need for more military capabilities and economic expertise to repel the attack. “Thus the radical group is thinking of an efficient strategy to expel this ground attack on their strongholds in Mosul,” a military source told ARA News under condition of anonymity.

Turkey’s ruling party said on Friday that important statements over progress of the peace process with Kurds should be expected “in the coming days.” Besir Atalay, spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) made the remarks in an interview with Turkish NTV news channel. Atalay, also deputy AKP chairman and the party’s leading figure to oversee the peace process, said “there is a huge activity on the peace process recent weeks. The process is going on effectively.” Noting a key law adopted by the parliament last year that included a roadmap for the peace process, he said talks have been focusing on carrying out the road map, adding that “we have achieved a substantial progress on this sense.” Atalay also said that “a certain progress will be made before the parliamentary elections in June and this will make a significant contribution on the election.” However, the spokesman did not elaborate on the progress. He instead hinted the possibility for the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) to lay down arms, saying that the government will follow up after the disarmament and the end of violence.

Headline: EU warns of more sanctions if Russia flouts ceasefire
Headline: 25 dead as Ukraine battles persist before weekend cease-fire deadline
EU leaders gave a “cautious” welcome to the Ukraine ceasefire deal on Thursday (12 February) but warned of further sanctions if it isn’t implemented. “We gave it our cautious approval. But words set down on paper must be accompanied by deeds … If this doesn’t happen we won’t hesitate to take further steps”, Council chief Donald Tusk told press after a summit in Brussels. “This conflict isn’t just about the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The whole geopolitical order in Europe after 1989 is at stake and we’ll be ready for any further development, good or bad”. He noted the leaders didn’t discuss new sanctions in detail. But he said they are “united and ready to act, also with new measures if necessary”. He placed the burden of implementation on Russia, adding: “When it comes to implementation, the most important thing today is the good will of the Russian president, of that I have no doubt”.

Headline: Secret Iranian Unit Ships Illegal Weapons Throughout Middle East
A covert cell operating under the Iranian government is fueling the bloodshed throughout the Middle East and North Africa, Fox News revealed Thursday. Unit 190, a secret arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force made up of about two-dozen employees, has for years smuggled arms to these conflict zones, the network said. After an extensive investigation tracing the land, air and sea routes used by the Quds Force to move weapons to Hezbollah, Hamas and now the Houthis in Yemen, Fox News has also learned from western intelligence sources the name of the Iranian man who is a key player in Unit 190: Behnam Shahariyari, born in 1968 in Ardabil, northwest Iran. Western intelligence sources who spoke to the network said Shahariyari runs a network of straw companies which skirt sanctions and pack RPG’s, night-vision equipment and long-range rockets in powdered milk, cement and spare vehicle parts. “Very often arms and explosives were placed in trucks underneath legal cargo in order to hide them,” said Michael Eisenstadt, director of Military and Security Studies programs for the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Headline: Iran emphasizes ability to defeat radical groups in Syria and Iraq
Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the al-Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, said that the principles of the “Islamic revolution of Iran” are spreading across Syria, Iraq, Bahrain and Yemen. “The unique achievements for the Islamic Revolution have formed the basis for resistance against the enemies in the region,” Soleimani said during celebrations of the 36th anniversary of the Iranian revolution in the city of Kerman. “This showed the growth of capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of its enemies,” Soleimani added. Soleimani praised the recent “victories” of the Lebanese militia of Hezbollah against what he described “the Zionist occupation forces”, in reference to the escalations that took place a few weeks before between Israel and Hezbollah in the Shebaa Farms. This followed Israel’s assassination of a number of senior leaders of Hezbollah and one of the commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards at the Syrian side of the Golan Heights. The Commander of the al-Quds Force pointed out that Hezbollah is “one of the main pillars of resistance in the region” and is able to direct heavy blows to Israel despite the capacities the Israeli army enjoys.

Headline: US reportedly increases secret raids against Afghanistan insurgents
U.S. Special Forces soldiers and their Afghan allies have undertaken an increasing number of night raids targeting Taliban and Al Qaeda militants, despite Washington formally declaring an end to combat operations late last year, according to a published report. The New York Times reports that the increased raids are partially the result of intelligence seized in October of last year, when U.S. and Afghan commandos came upon a laptop computer with files detailing terror operations in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan. Military officials tell the paper that the information in the files could be as significant as what was found on a computer in Usama bin Laden’s Pakistan compound after the terror leader was killed by Navy SEALs in 2011. The officials also said that another factor playing the role in the increased raids were loosened restrictions on nighttime operations put in place by the new Afghan president, Ashraf Ghani. Ghani has previously called for a slower withdrawal of U.S. troops from his country. Current plans call for the U.S. to go from about 10,800 troops there now to 5,500 by the end of this year.

Headline: Video Report Sheds Light On Fierce Fighting In Sudan
As Sudan gears up for general elections in April, the country’s president, Omar al-Bashir, has ramped up the fight against rebel forces across the country. Bashir, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, has vowed to end the rebellions against his government by the time of the elections. Nuba Reports, an independent group of journalists, obtained dramatic footage of latest battles in the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan. The videos also show government troops traveling through the region, rebel fighters taking over army supplies and desperate civilians fleeing the violence. “Yesterday we witnessed the fighting in Angartu,” refugee Ibrahim Bargil told Nuba Reports, referring to a town in South Kordofan. “The bombing was too intense and completely random, so people were terrified and left Angartu.” Angartu, which is near the rebels’ capital of Kauda, has been at the center of recent fierce fighting between the SPLA-N and Sudanese government troops. The government has launched its largest offensive since 2011, according to Nuba Reports, and at least 10,000 people have been displaced because of the violence this fighting season alone.

Headline: IS Division in Libya Publishes Photo Report on Suicide Bombing in Benghazi
Gunmen claiming to be members of the Islamic State jihadist group have seized control of a state-run radio station in Libya’s coastal city of Sirte, residents said Friday. Jihadist websites also posted pictures showing armed men sitting in front of microphones in a broadcasting studio and brandishing Kalashnikov assault rifles. “They took Radio Sirte yesterday (Thursday). Since then they have been broadcasting (verses from) the Koran and speeches by (IS chief Abu Bakr) al-Baghdadi,” a resident of the central city told AFP by telephone. The resident said speeches of IS spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani were also being played on the air. A former local administration official said the gunmen have set up a headquarters in the centre of the city, and voiced concern that they could declare an Islamic emirate in Sirte. “They could take advantage of the absence of any central government authority to transform the city into an Islamic emirate as they did in Derna,” an eastern city held by jihadist groups including IS. The man, who declined to be named, said the gunmen apparently seized the radio “as a first step to communicate with the population”. “The situation in Sirte is very complex,” he said, because many radical groups have a foothold there.

Headline: Tunisia Attempts to Calm Citizens After Deadly Protests Over New Border Taxes
The Tunisian government sent two of its cabinet ministers to the south of the country Wednesday, with the visit coming just days after violent protests in the region over the weekend against a border tax turned deadly. Minister of Finance Slim Chaker and the Minister of Development Yassine Ibrahim traveled to the southeastern town of Dehiba to appease the population and to reaffirm the government’s commitment to the region in the wake of the unrest. The demonstrations began Saturday in Dehiba after police seized a haul of contraband fuel, which was smuggled across the border from neighboring Libya. Locals rely on smuggled goods for economic survival, and illegal trade with Libya makes up a large part of the region’s dire economy. Protests continued through the weekend, eventually leading to clashes between protestors and security officials that resulted in multiple injuries and the death of a protester on Sunday. Local officials have launched an inquiry into the death of a young man who was killed. They are also trying to determine whether or not the police used real bullets against the crowd. Residents of Ben Guardane and Tataouine — Tunisia’s two main border crossings with Libya — staged a general strike Tuesday following the escalating violence between the police and demonstrators.

Headline: Turkish Checkpoint Near Syria Bombed – by ISIS?
Three people were wounded, including one policeman, in an explosion Friday at a police checkpoint near the Syrian border in the southern Turkish town of Suruc, local officials said. The cause of the blast was not immediately clear but Turkish media said emergency service vehicles rushed to the scene, reports AFP. “The explosion took place in a rubbish bin close to a police checkpoint. Three people, including a policeman, were lightly wounded,” the governor of the Sanliurfa region, which includes Suruc, Izzettin Kucuk, told Turkish television. First images from the scene showed that a car had been severely damaged by the blast. Kucuk did not say if the explosion had been caused by a bomb. Suruc lies just over the border from the Syrian town of Kobane which was recaptured last month by Kurdish fighters after a battle with Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists.

Headline: Erdogan Slams Obama’s Silence Over North Carolina Muslim Murders
Hundreds of students and teachers across Turkey have boycotted school to protest the government’s moves to increase Islamic teachings in education. Thousands more marched Friday in several Turkish cities holding up banners demanding a secular and science-based education system. Proponents of Turkey’s secular traditions claim that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is building a more Islam-focused education, to realize his goal of raising “pious generations.” The government has in recent years loosened a headscarf ban and increased the number of religious schools and classes. Police used water cannons Friday to disperse thousands of people who marched in the city of Izmir. Media reports said at least 10 people were detained in five Turkish cities for organizing the boycott.

Nigerian Boko Haram militants have carried out an attack on Chad overnight, the first such assault on Chadian soil, officials say. Fighters crossed Lake Chad in four motorboats and attacked a village, an army spokesman told the BBC. The Islamist militants were pushed back by Chadian troops after killing several people, residents said. Colonel Azem Bermandoua Agouna, of the Chadian military, told the BBC’s Thomas Fessy that the militants had killed one soldier and wounded a further four in the village of Ngouboua. Mr Agouna said a local chief was killed during the attack by a stray bullet. He did not confirm reports of other civilian casualties. Two Boko Haram militants were killed and five injured, he said. Residents put the number of attackers at around 30 and said they torched two-thirds of the village’s homes. “They came on board three canoes and succeeded in killing about 10 people before being pushed back by the army,” one resident told Reuters. Chadian military aircraft carried out air strikes against the militants in response, destroying their vessels, officials said.

Yemeni military officials say al-Qaida militants have seized control of an important army base in the south following clashes with soldiers. The officials say at least four troops and four militants died in the fighting and that at least 15 soldiers were taken hostage. The base is home to Yemen’s 19th Infantry Brigade and is located in the Baihan area in southern Shabwa province. Meanwhile, Yemen is sliding into chaos, UN special envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar, told Al Arabiya News Channel late Wednesday, saying “we believe the situation is very dangerous. Yemen is on the brink of civil war.” “The United Nations’ position vis-à-vis the Yemeni crisis is clear: conflicts should be resolved by peaceful means,” Benomar added. “The United Nations has no choice except to stay with Yemenis to support them in this situation and help them work a deal.” He said that “all” Yemeni factions had contributed to the political and economic disturbance. “They are all party to what has happened so far, they have all made mistakes and follies and sometimes groups resorted to violence to realize political aims. And some groups used political maneuvers to impede the political process,” the envoy added.

Headline: At least 19 killed in attack on Shi’ite mosque in Pakistan
At least 19 people were killed on Friday in the Pakistani city of Peshawar in a gun and bomb attack on a Shi’ite mosque, the latest sectarian violence to hit the South Asian nation. Radical Sunni Islamist groups often target mosques frequented by minority Shi’ites, whom they see as infidels. Police said armed men broke into the mosque, where people were attending Friday prayers, and opened fire, following which three explosions were heard inside the building. The Pakistani Taliban, who are fighting against the state to set up a hardline Sunni theocracy, claimed responsibility and said the attack was revenge for Pakistan’s crackdown on militants following a December school massacre. “Either Pakistan will become your graveyard, or God’s law, sharia, will be implemented,” Taliban commander Khaleefa Omar Mansoor said in a video in which he was flanked by three young militants clutching AK-47 assault rifles. “This is the first in a series of revenge attacks … Wait for the rest,” Mansoor, who had earlier claimed responsibility for the Dec. 16 school attack in which more than 150 people were killed, said in the video sent by email to reporters. The style of the mosque attack was similar to that of the school attack, when gunmen arrived in a car, set it on fire, and broke into the building using a back entrance.

Headline: Dozens of Myanmar Troops Killed on Border
Clashes between government troops and ethnic Kokang rebels near the Chinese border in Myanmar – also known as Burma – has left 47 soldiers dead and 73 wounded, state media said Friday. The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported Friday that the government had notified Beijing, because fighting, which has raged since February 9, had forced thousands of civilians to flee across the border into China. The paper said that a Kokang renegade group had attacked military stations with the objective of capturing Laukai, the capital of the self-administered Kokang zone near the border. It was not known how many rebels had been killed or wounded. The Kokang was formerly a pro-communist fighting force that battled the government until signing a ceasefire in 1989. Fighting resumed in 2009. The clashes in Shan State, in the northeast, has alarmed China, which fears an influx of villagers fleeing violence and called this week for peace on the border.

Headline: Two More Harbingers Of Financial Doom That Mirror The Crisis Of 2008
The stock market continues to flirt with new record highs, but the signs that we could be on the precipice of the next major financial crisis continue to mount. A couple of days ago, I discussed the fact that the U.S. dollar is experiencing a tremendous surge in value just like it did in the months prior to the financial crisis of 2008. And previously, I have detailed how the price of oil has collapsed, prices for industrial commodities are tanking and market behavior is becoming extremely choppy. All of these are things that we witnessed just before the last market crash as well. It is also important to note that orders for durable goods are declining and the Baltic Dry Index has dropped to the lowest level on record. So does all of this mean that the stock market is guaranteed to crash in 2015? No, of course not. But what we are looking for are probabilities. We are looking for patterns. There are multiple warning signs that have popped up repeatedly just prior to previous financial crashes, and many of those same warning signs are now appearing once again.

Headline: Clashes in Venezuela as economic shortages continue to bite
Students clashed with riot police in the Venezuelan city of San Cristobal yesterday on the one-year anniversary of anti-government riots that left 43 people dead and a leading opposition leader in jail. The protests came as Venezuela’s socialist economy faces mounting shortages of food and medicines after being badly hit be a collapse in world oil prices this year that has left the country short of dollars needed to import many basic goods. The clashes in San Cristobal, the volatile western city that was a hotbed of protests in 2014, broke out after hooded demonstrators threw rocks and later Molotov cocktails at National Guard soldiers and police who responded with tear gas. Five security officials and three demonstrators were hurt in the standoff, and four students arrested, the Reuters news agency reported, citing witnesses and state authorities. Meanwhile in the capital, Caracas, two rival marches played out in pouring rain as student protestors competed for attention against a government-sponsored rally supporting Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela’s beleaguered president.

Headline: Sweden cuts rates below zero as global currency wars spread
Sweden has cut interest rates below zero and launched quantitative easing to fight deflation, becoming the latest Scandinavian state to join Europe’s escalating currency wars. The Riksbank caught markets by surprise, reducing the benchmark lending rate to minus 0.10pc and unveiled its first asset purchases, vowing to take further action at any time to stop the country falling into a deflationary trap. The bank presented the move as precautionary step due to rising risks of a “poorer outcome abroad” and the crisis in Greece. Janet Henry from HSBC said the measures are clearly a “beggar-thy neighbour” manoeuvre to weaken the krone, the latest such action in a global currency war that does little to tackle the deeper problem of deficient world demand. The move comes as neighbouring Denmark takes ever more drastic steps to stop a flood of money overwhelming its exchange rate peg to the euro and tightening the deflationary noose. The Danes have cut rates four times to minus 0.75pc in a month to combat fall-out from the European Central Bank’s forthcoming QE. They have even taken the unprecedented step of halting all issuance of government bonds.

Headline: Plague Is Back, With a Disturbing Twist
Back in November, the island nation of Madagascar confirmed 119 cases of plague, including 40 deaths. But the bad news recently took a disturbing turn: “The fleas that transmit this ancient disease from rats to humans have developed resistance to the first-line insecticide,” Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organization, said in a new report. You probably recognize the infectious disease as the one known as the “Black Death,” which during the 14th century became a devastating epidemic that claimed an estimated 50 million lives throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Caused by the bacteria Yersinia pestis, the disease spreads from rodents to humans via infected fleas. Those infected generally develop bubonic plague—exhibiting swollen lymph nodes and flu-like symptoms—or, if it spreads to the lungs, the deadlier advanced form, pneumonic plague. Caught early, antibiotics can effectively treat the disease; left untreated, however, plague kills 30 to 60 percent of those infected.

Sierra Leone placed hundreds of homes in the capital under Ebola quarantine on Friday, in a huge blow to its recovery less than a month after lifting travel restrictions. “Some 700 homes have been quarantined for 21 days in the tourism and fishing community of Aberdeen in the west of the capital Freetown, after the death of a fisherman who was later diagnosed Ebola positive,” said Obi Sesay of the government’s National Ebola Response Centre. The west African nation of six million had seen almost 11,000 cases and 3,363 deaths during the epidemic which has raged in west Africa for more than a year. This new struggle with the disease comes less than a month after President Ernest Bai Koroma pointed to a “steady downward trend” in new cases and lifted country-wide quarantines and travel bans.

Headline: Megadrought may plague parts of USA
We ain’t seen nothing yet: The intense drought in California is only an appetizer compared with what’s coming this century across much of the western and central USA, according to a study out Thursday. During the years 2050 to 2100, the Southwest and Great Plains will face a persistent “megadrought” worse than anything seen in the past 1,000 years, and the dry conditions will be “driven primarily” by human-induced global warming, scientists said. There’s at least an 80% chance of a megadrought in these regions if climate change continues unabated, Toby Ault, an atmospheric scientist at Cornell University and co-author of the research, said at a news conference Thursday in San Jose. A megadrought is defined as a drought that lasts for decades or longer, such as those that scorched portions of the West in the 12th and 13th centuries. Ault said megadroughts should be considered a natural hazard on par with earthquakes and hurricanes.
