“And You Did Not Speak Out”
“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich (Yisrael Beytenu) has called on the government to take a much firmer hand with Hamas, just hours before a ceasefire is rumored to go into effect Monday. Aharonovich made his comments following a “difficult” visit to the Tragerman family, whose four-year-old son Daniel was killed in a mortar attack on Kibbutz Nahal Oz in southern Israel on Friday. Relating to criticism by residents of southern Israel towards the government’s dealing with incessant rocket fire by Hamas and other terrorists, Aharonovich said “I understand these things and accept them,” according to Channel 10. “They expect us to reach a decision, and I agree with them,” he said. “With a terrorist group you need to deal in a far more violent and harsh way, to defeat it. I have said this already a number of times in the past.” “What is important to us is to return security to the residents of the State, with an emphasis on the south,” he continued, adding that the government was committed to “taking care of the residents” of southern Israel, and was preparing additional aid and benefits to help them cope with their difficult situation. Meanwhile, amid increasing talk of an imminent ceasefire, terrorists continue to pound southern Israel with rockets. 25 struck in the Eshkol Region alone, with five landing inside communities and the rest in open areas around them. At least 37 rockets have been fired on Israeli civilians since Monday morning, following six hours of quiet overnight.

Headline: Mashaal Threatens Terror Attacks in Judea and Samaria
Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal threatened on Sunday that his group will not only continue attacking Israel from Gaza, but will also launch attacks from Judea and Samaria as well. In an interview with Iranian media, Mashaal claimed that Gaza has been under attack for fifty days but was able to disrupt the plans of the “Zionists”. He further claimed that the Palestinian Arab side had offered a ceasefire but Israel made verbal maneuvers in order to avoid agreeing to it. Mashaal reiterated the Palestinian side’s conditions for a ceasefire, including the lifting of the blockade, full opening of border crossings, construction of a seaport and airport, transfer of funds to and from Gaza, the passage of goods and people between Gaza and Judea and Samaria, releasing Palestinian Arabs who were released in the Shalit deal and re-arrested, and for Israel not to interfere with the operations of the national unity government between Hamas and Fatah.

Headline:Gaza Fighting Rages but Egypt Pushing New Cease-fire
Fighting raged in Gaza again Monday, even as Egypt pressured Israel and the Palestinians to agree to a new cease-fire that could last at least a month. Monday’s airstrikes came a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Israelis to be prepared for the conflict to stretch into September, and warned Gaza Palestinians to leave sites where Hamas militants are operating. He said any site used by Hamas is a target for Israeli forces. Meanwhile, Egypt pressed the warring sides to stop fighting and resume negotiations to forge an enduring truce in Gaza. Cairo proposed opening key crossings into the blockaded territory and allowing humanitarian aid and reconstruction material to be taken into Gaza, where there is widespread destruction from the Israeli attacks aimed at Hamas.

Headline: What You Can’t See on the UN’s Maps of Gaza- VIDEO
Last week, the UN published several maps showing the aftermath of Operation Protective Edge. The maps mark damaged buildings with red dots scattered throughout Gaza. But these maps tells only half the story: Hamas used many of these buildings – including houses, hospitals and schools – as sites to launch rockets and carry out other attacks. In many cases, the IDF struck buildings in order to stop Hamas’ violence. This means that the red dots on the UN’s maps represent more than destruction. They show the many cases in which terrorists attacked Israel from heavily populated areas in Gaza.

Headline: Interview with Abu Tariq: Commander in the Nasser Salahuddin Brigades
The al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades is the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, a set of various Palestinian militant organizations which operate in the Gaza Strip.
***I will pick bits out of the interview, but use caution if you choose to read it in its entirety
We in the Nasser Salahuddin Brigades, we were against granting the enemy a truce because we feared the enemy would take advantage to reactivate its agents, and gather intelligence on the whereabouts of Resistance fighters, leaders and rocket storage facilities. We took advantage of the truce by ensuring that [the location of] rocket storage facilities and platforms remained unknown to collaborators; we do not just have to deal with local spies and agents, but also with regional powers that collaborate with the enemy against us. The leaders of the Brigades are adamant about continuing to make and develop rockets despite the blockade, and although we know there are agents watching what we do. The development unit in the Brigades is resolved that no matter the cost in blood or treasure to develop our rocket capabilities, we will not stop. In addition to locally manufactured rockets, we use tunnels to bring in weapons and raw materials for manufacturing. We feel great gratitude and appreciation for our brothers in Hezbollah, who do not withhold anything from us in the Brigade. They enrolled men and fighters from the Brigade in several military sessions for training with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Our fighters learned new combat skills, and gained a broader knowledge of the type of rocketry, their manufacturing techniques, how to specify coordinates, down to camouflage and planting bombs. We have now excellent knowledge on “cooking explosives” of all kinds.

Headline: Jordanian Terror Attack on Israeli Embassy Foiled
Jordanian military prosecutors on Monday charged eight suspects, including a Syrian fugitive, with plotting to attack US soldiers and Israel’s embassy in the Hashemite kingdom, as well as trying to recruit people to join the Lebanese- based terror group Hezbollah. “State security court prosecutors accused the eight men with plotting to carry out terrorist acts, including attacks against US soldiers in 2006 and the Israeli embassy in Amman,” a court official told AFP. “The suspects, seven Jordanians and a Syrian fugitive, also recruited to join Hezbollah,” he said, adding that the group was arrested in May last year. The official gave no further details, but said the suspects face life imprisonment if convicted. In May, the military tribunal handed jail terms of between four and 20 years to 11 people it convicted of plotting to attack the US embassy for Al-Qaeda in 2012. Enmity has been boiling over against the Israeli embassy in Amman lately, with a demonstration late last month during Operation Protective Edge bringing hundreds of mainly Islamist Jordanian protesters to burn Israeli flags in front of the embassy. The demonstrators reportedly chanted “Death to Israel” and urged Hamas terror attacks in one of the biggest public outpourings of anger against Israel in the last few years. They were joined in smaller marches throughout Jordan.

Headline: Jordanian Army clashes with border infiltrators, kills 2
The border guards on Sunday killed two infiltrators, seriously injured a third and detained four people who attempted to cross the border from Syria at 4:30pm. The infiltrators were aboard a wheeled armoured personnel carrier, according to an official source of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), as quoted by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Following an exchange of fire with the group of seven, the army managed to bring the vehicle to a halt, the army source said. Seven machine guns and different amounts of ammunition were seized, he added. Military investigators were questioning the detainees, whereas the injured man and those who were killed were transferred to the nearest field hospital. Such clashes have become common on the 370km-long Syria border, around 90km from Amman. Jordanian officials have reiterated that the JAF will respond firmly to such violations and will take all available measures to preserve the security and the safety of the country, its borders and citizens.

Headline: Nasrallah In Interview With ‘Al-Akhbar’: Israel An Illegitimate Entity, Must Be Eliminated
Headline:Hezbollah is no stranger to takfir; As Sunni jihadists alarm the world, the Party of God seeks to brand itself a bastion of moderate Islam. Nobody should be fooled. Explaining his position on Israel, Nasrallah used terms familiar from Iranian rhetoric, saying that it is a religious duty to destroy it, and condemned what he sees an Arab tendency to put up with its existence. He said: “The most severe problem we are dealing with now in terms of the atmosphere in the Arab and regional arena is that we are approaching a phase in which the peoples of the region see Israel’s existence as natural and not a threat to them. [They think that,] if Israel is a problem, then it is the problem of the Palestinian people, not of the peoples of the region. This relates to politics, security, and economics. “First of all, Israel is an illegal entity and constitutes a perpetual… threat to the entire region. [Since] we cannot coexist with this threat, the end of this nation must be its annihilation, unconnected to all the problems and the sensitivities, of everything that has happened or will happen between Palestinians and non-Palestinians, between Sunnis and Shi’ites, or between Muslims and Christians. All the conflicts, sensitivities, schisms, and struggles must not neutralize the culture that considers Israel a cancerous growth, absolute evil, and a danger to all peoples and governments in this region, and to their honor and their holy places. The final goal must be its annihilation… “From the point of view of [religious] faith, [Israel] is a matter that cannot even be discussed. When it comes to the [religious] faith, the [extent to which] public debate that is impacted by mood and emotion is more limited. [Since] the people stress that their opinion on Israel stems from [religious] belief, this position has nothing to do with the question of whether we and the Palestinians are reconciled or divided…”

Nasrallah addressed his organization’s ties with Syria, and said that, in its current fighting in that country, Hizbullah is learning lessons that may benefit it in a future confrontation with Israel.

Headline: Nusra may resort to force to free Roumieh inmates
Detained jihadist Imad Jomaa, whose detention sparked five days of intense clashes between militants and the Lebanese Army in the northeastern town of Arsal earlier this month, confessed to plans of establishing an Islamic State between the Bekaa Valley and North Lebanon, highlighting that all Hezbollah loyalists would have been either detained or killed. “Al-Nusra head in Qalamoun Aba Malek al- Souri and his twenty nine groups had agreed on launching a united assault on Arsal” Jomaa told Lebanese judicial authorities. The confessions were aired by LBC TV during its 8 o’clock news bulletin Monday. The assault against Lebanese villages and Army soldiers was meant to create a state of chaos that would start in the Bekaa Valley, and would later spread to North Lebanon, Jomaa rreportedly said. Jomaa added that an “Islamic State,” under the authority of Abdallah Azzam brigade Spokesperson Sirajeddine Zureiqat, would have been declared in the captured areas between the Bekaa Valley and north Lebanon.

Martin Dempsey, speaking to reporters on board a military plane traveling to Afghanistan, said Sunday that he believes the Sunni insurgent group formerly known as ISIS is not currently plotting or planning attacks against the U.S. or Europe. On Sunday, Dempsey contrasted ISIS with the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which has plotted and attempted attacks against the U.S. and Europe. As a result, the U.S. has conducted counterterrorism strikes against the group within Yemen. Dempsey said that so far, there is no sign that the Islamic State militants are engaged in “active plotting against the homeland, so it’s different than that which we see in Yemen.”

Germany’s Angela Merkel has said Ukraine is free to “go to” Russia’s “Eurasian Union”, amid signs of a new willingness to make peace with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Speaking to German public broadcaster ARD on Sunday (24 August), the German chancellor said her visit to Kiev on Saturday was designed to prepare for peace talks between Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko and Putin in Minsk on Tuesday, but warned the public not to expect a “breakthrough”. She mentioned Ukrainian “decentralisation”, a deal on gas prices, and Ukraine’s “trade relations” with Russia as elements that could bring about an accord. “And if Ukraine says we are going to the Eurasian Union now, the European Union would never make a big conflict out of it, but would insist on a voluntary decision,” Merkel added. “I want to find a way, as many others do, which does not damage Russia. We [Germany] want to have good trade relations with Russia as well. We want reasonable relations with Russia. We are depending on one another and there are so many other conflicts in the world where we should work together, so I hope we can make progress”.

Fresh clashes have broken out between Ukrainian army troops and pro-Russia fighters escorting a convoy of vehicles near the border with Russia, Ukraine’s military says. Andriy Lysenko said the border guards have engaged in fighting with pro-Russia forces, trying to stop the convoy’s movement. Pro-Kiev local militias alleged the column was heading toward Ukraine’s port city of Mariupol, on the Azov Sea. Semen Semenchenko, the commander of the Azov Battalion, a paramilitary group supporting the Kiev government, said on his Facebook page that around 50 armored vehicles had crossed the border from Russia. Headline: South Sudan rivals sign new ceasefire deal
South Sudanese loyal to former vice-president Riek Machar are crossing into Unity state from Sudan with heavy military equipment, a spokesperson for the army said. Col. Philip Aguer did not directly accuse Khartoum of aiding the rebels, but said actions by the latter contravened the cessation of hostilities agreement signed between government and the opposition. “There have been unusual activities, including hostile movement of rebels of Riek Machar with heavy equipment and weapons crossing into Unity state from Sudan, which is a violation of the agreements that have been signed with the rebels and others,” he told the state-owned SSTV. Samuel Goch, a national lawmaker, said the Sudanese government had allowed rebels to carry out “illegal and provocative acts”.

Headline: Rockets Target Lifeline Airport in Eastern Libya
Attackers fired rockets at eastern Libya’s Labraq airport on Monday, its director said, targeting one of the oil producer’s few functioning air hubs as violence between armed groups escalates. The airport east of the city of Benghazi has become a major gateway into Libya since Egypt and Tunisia canceled almost all flights to the capital Tripoli and the west of the country last week, citing security reasons. The North African nation has descended into anarchy with a weak government unable to control fighters, who helped topple strongman Moammar Gadhafi in 2011 but now vie for control of territory and resources. The unknown attackers used a Grad multiple rocket launcher, but did not cause any major damage and Labraq was still operating, according to director Abu Bakr al-Abidi.

Headline:Libya jihadists urge Islamist unity as lawmakers fight back
A Libyan jihadist group urged other Islamists to unite under its banner on Monday after parliament appointed a new army chief to tackle the unrest sweeping the North African nation. Ansar al-Sharia, which Tripoli and Washington have both branded a “terrorist” organisation, made the call as Libya’s foreign minister and his counterparts from neighbouring states met in Cairo to discuss the Islamist threat. “Unite with the mujahedeen in Benghazi so together we can defend the same objective — a total rejection of any Western plan” for Libya, Ansar al-Sharia said in an online message aimed at other militias in the violence-plagued country. “Proclaim that your struggle is for sharia (Islamic law) and not democratic legitimacy, so the world unites under the same banner to bolster the forces of good against the forces of evil,” it added. Ansar al-Sharia urged other Islamists to beware what it dubbed Western plots aimed at “opposing the mujahedeen under the pretext that they are extremists”.

Headline: Egypt sponsors initiative to disarm Libya’s militias
Airstrikes by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates were launched against anti-government militias in Libya last week, four senior U.S. officials revealed Monday. The attacks against Islamic militias in the vicinity of Tripoli, Libya’s capital, were performed without the knowledge or consent of the United States. In fact, U.S. diplomats — more interested in a negotiated peace in Libya — were explicitly told no air operation was planned. “We don’t see this as constructive at all,” said one U.S. official. The battle in Libya comes as Arab powers line up on both sides of the pro-democracy Arab Spring’s aftermath. Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates form a bloc against Islamist movements including the Muslim Brotherhood, backed by governments that include Turkey and Qatar. Two airstrikes against Islamists in the Tripoli area were launched last week, with Egypt providing bases of operations and the UAE — whose Air Force was supplied and trained by the United States — providing the pilots and planes, the diplomats said. Despite the attacks, the militants were successful in capturing Tripoli’s airport. The airstrikes were initially regarded as mystery, with no one claiming credit and witnesses unaware of whose planes were engaged in the bombing.

Headline: Germany: no Iraq combat troops or weapons to PKK
Chancellor Angela Merkel has ruled out sending German combat troops to Iraq and is dismissing suggestions her country could send weapons to the separatist Kurdish PKK movement. Germany said last week it is prepared to arm the regional Kurdish government forces battling Islamic militants in northern Iraq. It’s still determining what to send them. Sunday’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper reported some German government lawmakers also are considering arming the PKK, which the EU classifies a terrorist organization. Merkel, however, said the group “does not come into question as a recipient” of German arms. Merkel said in an interview with ARD television Sunday that Berlin “will not under any circumstances send combat troops to Iraq” and has no “concrete plans” to send troops in any other function, such as training.

Headline: Istanbul residents in violent protest over Syrian refugees: reports
Kurdish rebels have abducted three Chinese workers in southeast Turkey and attacked a thermal power plant where they worked, injuring a security guard, Turkey’s state-run news agency reported Monday. The Anadolu Agency said the workers were seized while grocery shopping near the town Silopi on Sunday and that Turkish security forces had launched an operation to rescue them. The Chinese Embassy in Ankara would not confirm the report. Officials in Silopi could not immediately be reached for comment while Firat news, a Kurdish news agency that is close to the rebels, made no mention of the reported incident. The Anadolu Agency said Kurdish rebels attacked the plant with rocket-propelled grenades and rifles late on Sunday. Kurdish rebels have abducted foreigners in the past to draw attention to their cause, but none have come to any harm. The attack by the autonomy-seeking Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, is widely believed to be retaliation to the killing in another town last week of a Kurd who was protesting against the Turkish security forces’ removal of a statue of a Kurdish rebel fighter.

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)

Even KKK members summer in the Hamptons. The Ku Klux Klan has been leaving recruitment pamphlets next to mailboxes and in driveways in Hampton Bays over the past few weeks. The hate-filled leaflets include racist cartoons and caution recipients to “beware” of people looking to steal their jobs in the Suffolk County community, said the Southampton Town Police Department. The flyers promote the Loyal White Knights, a North Carolina-based Klan group, which has recruited in other states, according to reports. The Suffolk County hate crime unit has been notified, but distributing such leaflets is legal. Robert Jones, grand dragon of the Loyal White Knights, said he didn’t know anything about the New York recruitment — but had an idea what it was about. “Everybody’s fed up with immigration,” Jones told Newsday, which first reported the leaflets. “That’s why we have so many people from New York calling right now.”

Riot has broken out in a Brazilian prison where at least two prisoners are beheaded and another is killed by being thrown off the roof. Military police captain Ricardo Pinto said on Sunday that two agents were taken hostage after the riot erupted by the inmates of the penitentiary in the city of Cascavel, located in the Paraná state. Captain Pinto said negotiations still continued 12 hours after the riot started in an effort to bring better conditions in the prison. Authorities learned of the third man’s death after they said two had been decapitated at the jail, which is home to more than 1000 inmates. Pinto said the revolt erupted before sunrise and after the inmates captured a guard during breakfast.

****Since we know Islamists are spreading at an alarming rate, and the photo above shows the militants have their faces covered, I want to address this question that some of you have: WHY do they cover their faces? Well, besides the fact they don’t want their identity known, it is an Islamic tradition to do this before battle. It is called Sunnah (the way of life prescribed for Muslims) of their prophet and that of his companions, as the following lines show:
On what is known in Islam as the Day of Conquest, that is, the Conquest of Mecca, Sira provides these lines: The Messenger of Allah mobilized his companions. The tribes passed with their leaders, squadrons, and flags…. When the green battalion of the Messenger of God appeared, black dust rose from the hooves of the horses, and the people began to pass….Until the Messenger of god passed by marching on his female camel al-Qaswa, between Abu Bakr and Usayd b. Hudayr, and he was talking to them. Al-Abbas said, “This is the Messenger of God with his green battalion, in it are Muhajirn and the Ansar. The have flags and banners. With every clan of the Ansar is a flag and a banner. Clad in iron, one sees only their eye balls….” (The Life of Muhammad, Al-Waqidi’s Kitab al-Maghazi, Translated by Rizwi Faizer, Amal Ismail, and AbdulKader Tayob, Routledge; New York, NY, 1st Publication, 2011; P. 404.)

Supporters of opposition politician Imran Khan held an anti-government protest in the city on Sunday. The demonstrators reiterated that they will keep protesting until Sharif steps down. According to reports, Sharif supporters burnt Khan’s pictures in a show of support for the government in another part of the capital. So far, negotiations between the government and Khan have failed to bring about a solution to the current standoff, with both sides sticking to their positions. Tens of thousands of people have descended on Islamabad in recent days, answering the call from Khan and cleric Muhammad Tahir ul- Qadri to push for Sharif’s departure. However, the government has rejected the calls for resignation.

Headline: France thrown into political turmoil after government dissolved
France has entered uncharted political waters after the prime minister, Manuel Valls, presented his government’s resignation amid a political crisis triggered by his maverick economy minister who called for an end to austerity policies imposed by Germany. The prime minister, a social democrat who has been compared to Tony Blair, acted with characteristic swiftness in a bid to reassert his authority. His aides had let it be known on Sunday that the economy minister, Arnaud Montebourg, had crossed a “yellow line” for his dual crime of criticising both the president of France and a valued ally. Montebourg, 51, fired his first broadside in an interview with Le Monde on Saturday and followed up with a speech to a Socialist party rally the following day. In a veiled reference to President François Hollande, he said that conformism was an enemy and “my enemy is governing”. “France is a free country which shouldn’t be aligning itself with the obsessions of the German right,” he said, urging a “just and sane resistance”.

Headline: Congo declares Ebola outbreak in northern Equateur province
Democratic Republic of Congo declared an Ebola outbreak in its northern Equateur province on Sunday after two out of eight cases tested came back positive for the deadly virus, Health Minister Felix Kabange Numbi said. A mysterious disease has killed dozens of people in Equateur in recent weeks but the World Health Organization had said on Thursday it was not Ebola. “I declare an Ebola epidemic in the region of Djera, in the territory of Boende in the province of Equateur,” Kabange Numbi told a news conference. The region lies about 1,200 km (750 miles) north of the capital Kinshasa. Numbi said that one of the two cases that tested positive was for the Sudanese strain of the disease, while the other was a mixture between the Sudanese and the Zaire strain — the most lethal variety. The outbreak in West Africa that has killed at least 1,427 people in West Africa since March is the Zaire strain. The World Health Organization said on Thursday that the disease which had killed at least 70 people in Equateur was a kind of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis.

Headline: Obamacare Now Pays for Gender Reassignment
Among the less-talked-about implications of the Affordable Care Act is the relief it is providing to many transgender people, many of whom are low-income and who have struggled to obtain health coverage. Getting jobs that offer insurance often has been difficult for transgender people and the cost of purchasing plans on the private market can be prohibitive. Some have been denied policies altogether after being diagnosed with “gender identity disorder,” often considered a pre-existing condition. Without insurance, many people were unable to afford the hormones, surgeries and counseling needed to complete their transition. Nor would they have been covered in the event of surgical complications, which can include infections. “We are still dependent on insurance and the medical community for us to be able to live authentically,” said Aydin Kennedy, coordinator of the transgender health program at St. John’s Well Child and Family Center in Los Angeles. Now, federal law prohibits health insurance companies from discriminating against transgender people, and it bars insurers from denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions. That makes it possible for more transgender people to purchase private plans. And in states that expanded their Medicaid programs, those with low incomes may get free coverage.
