Headline: For first time in over two years, PA to hold cabinet meeting in Gaza

Headline: 67% of PA, Gaza Arabs Want Abbas to Resign, Replaced by Barghouti or Haniyeh

For the first time in more than two years, the Palestinian Authority will hold a cabinet meeting in the Gaza Strip next Tuesday, official PA media reported on Monday morning. “[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, in consultation with President Mahmoud Abbas, issued a decision to hold the government’s weekly cabinet meeting in the Gaza Strip,” PA government spokesman Yousif Mahmoud said in a statement. The decision came just over a week after Hamas announced the dissolution of its governing body in the Gaza Strip, also known as the administrative committee, and invited the PA to take its place. Hamas has controlled Gaza since it ousted the Fatah-dominated PA in 2007 from the territory. Hamdallah and other members of the government are scheduled to arrive in Gaza on Monday “to begin assuming responsibility” for the territory, according to Mahmoud.

Headline: Report: Israel fires missile at Syrian aircraft over Golan

Arab media outlets have reported that a Syrian aircraft flying over the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights near the border with Israel was targeted by an Israeli missile. According to the report, the incident took place over the town of Kuneitra on the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan. The Syrian aircraft reportedly evaded the missile and was unharmed in the incident. Subsequent reports in Arab media outlets claim an explosion was heard in the Kuneitra area following the missile launch. No Israeli sources have confirmed the reports.

Headline: Saudis threaten fallout if Yemen probe passes

Saudi Arabia has threatened other countries over a proposed resolution at the U.N.’s main human rights body, saying if they send international, independent investigators to war-torn Yemen that could “negatively affect” trade and diplomatic ties with the wealthy kingdom, a Saudi letter obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press shows. Two competing resolutions — one by Saudi Arabia and other Arab states and another by Canada and the Netherlands — have been proposed on how to best document the human rights violations in Yemen. The resolutions are shaping up as the main diplomatic showdown at the Human Rights Council session that ends Friday. Saudi Arabia has sent a letter to at least two foreign countries warning that the Arab states “will not accept” the Dutch-Canadian resolution, which seeks an “international, independent investigation.” U.N. human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein has repeatedly called for such an investigation.

Headline: US-backed Forces in Syria Say Russians Attacked Their Position

U.S.-backed forces in Syria’s eastern Deir el-Zour province say Russian forces struck their position in a field recently captured from Islamic State militants. Fighters with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said a Russian attack killed one of their fighters and wounded two others Monday in the Conoco natural gas field, which was taken from Islamic State fighters over the weekend. Russia has denied the report. Counter-Islamic State coalition spokesman U.S. Army Col. Ryan Dillon told VOA that initial reports could not confirm whether there were any casualties. The indirect surface-to-surface fire, he said, was believed to have come from either Syrian or Russian forces.

Headline: Iran vows to stand with Baghdad, Ankara against Iraqi Kurds’ independence push

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday warned the Iraqi Kurdish leader against pushing for independence after holding a non-binding referendum, saying such a move risked sparking an “ethnic war” in the region. “If (Massud) Barzani and the Kurdish Regional Government do not go back on this mistake as soon as possible, they will go down in history with the shame of having dragged the region into an ethnic and sectarian war,” Erdogan said in a televised speech. Iraq’s Kurds on Monday voted in a historic independence referendum despite fierce opposition from Baghdad and neighboring countries Iran and Turkey. Turnout was 72 percent, with 3.3 million of the 4.58 million registered voters taking part, election commission spokesman Shirwan Zirar said late Monday.
Results were expected within 24 hours, with an overwhelming ‘yes’ vote not in doubt.

Headline: US sees ‘no indication’ Iran launched a ballistic missile, despite Trump tweet

US intelligence radars and sensors “picked up no indication” of an Iranian ballistic missile launch in the days surrounding a reported test, according to a Trump administration official familiar with the latest US assessment. Iranian reports that the nation tested a new ballistic missile so far does not appear to be true, the official said, adding: “As far as we can see, it did not happen.” State-run broadcaster Press TV reported the launch on Saturday, according to footage broadcast on Iranian state television. “Iran has released footage of the successful test-launch of its new ballistic missile, Khorramshahr, a few hours after it was unveiled during a military parade in the capital city of Tehran,” Press TV said. But the telemetry, or electronic signals, of a ballistic missile launch would have been picked up by a variety of US assets in the region who keep an around the clock eye on Iran’s weapons activities, the official said. President Donald Trump tweeted about the apparent launch on Saturday: “Iran just test fired a ballistic missile capable of reaching Israel. They are also working with North Korea. Not much of an agreement we have!” The footage shown on Iranian television appears most likely to be a re-run of a previous test launch, the official said.

Headline: ISIS in Libya: Trump Orders First Airstrikes Near Sirte

The U.S. military said it killed 17 ISIS militants with six precision airstrikes in Libya, the first publicly announced American bombing in the country since President Donald Trump took office. The attacks targeted a desert camp around 150 miles southeast of Sirte, a city held by ISIS until December. “The camp was used by ISIS to move fighters in and out of the country, stockpile weapons and equipment, and to plot and conduct attacks,” the U.S. military said in a statement. The airstrikes occurred Friday but weren’t announced until Sunday. America’s last known strike on Libya was Jan. 19, one day before Trump’s inauguration. That attack was sanctioned by President Barack Obama. It also targeted ISIS camps southwest of Sirte and killed “several dozen” militants.

Headline: Sex diseases in US surge to record high

Sexually transmitted diseases surged to a record high in the United States last year, with more than two million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis nationwide, officials said Tuesday. This was “the highest number ever,” said the annual Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report released today by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Most of the new cases — 1.6 million in 2016 — involved chlamydia, a bacterial infection that affects both men and women. Gonorrhea also increased among men and women last year, but the steepest rise was among men (22 percent), said the report. Nationwide, gonorrhea cases reached 470,000, with a large share of new gonorrhea cases among men who have sex with men. These trends are “particularly alarming” because of the growing threat of gonorrhea becoming resistant to the last recommended treatment, according to the CDC report.

Headline: Canada Passes Law Allowing Gov’t to Seize Children From Parents Who Oppose Gender Transition

Canada’s Ontario province has passed legislation that allows the government to seize children from families that refuse to accept their child’s chosen “gender identity” or “gender expression.” The so-called Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act of 2017, or Bill 89, was approved by a vote of 63 to 23, according to The Christian Times. It requires child protection, foster, adoption service providers, and judges to take into account and respect a child’s “race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, citizenship, family diversity, disability, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.” “I would consider that a form of abuse, when a child identifies one way and a caregiver is saying no, you need to do this differently,” Minister of Child and Family Services Michael Coteau, who introduced the bill, was quoted as saying. “If it’s abuse, and if it’s within the definition, a child can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops.” The bill replaces the Child and Family Services Act, or Bill 28, which governs child protection, foster care and adoption services. Bill 28 stated that the parent of a child in care retains the right “to direct the child’s education and religious upbringing.” However, the new law amends it thus: “to direct the child or young person’s education and upbringing, in accordance with the child’s or young person’s creed, community identity and cultural identity.”

Headline: Violent Crime in U.S. Rises for Second Consecutive Year

Violent crime, including homicides, rose for the second consecutive year in 2016, driven by increases in a few urban centers including Baltimore, Chicago and Las Vegas, according to F.B.I. data released Monday. Violent crimes increased nationally last year by 4.1 percent and homicides rose by 8.6 percent, one year after violence increased by 3.9 percent and homicides jumped by 10.8 percent. A total of 17,250 people were murdered in 2016, the F.B.I. said. While crime over all and violent crime remain well below their levels of the 1980s and 1990s, last year was the first time violent crime increased in consecutive years since 2005 and 2006, according to the F.B.I. data, which is collected from local police departments around the nation and released annually. Police officials and criminologists continue to express puzzlement about the upsurge. There is disagreement not only about the reasons for the increases, but also about how law enforcement should respond and whether the figures represent a blip or the start of a long-term trend.

Does anyone remember how many dates for the end of the world the Jehovah’s witnesses gave?  The Carm site link below shows 11 dates but there are many more than what is shown at the Carm site. Any one who read the JW teaching and watched those dates come and go with nothing happening knows what the Leaders of the WatchTower did when their teaching failed.  The Leaders came back and changed the dates to a new date and made excuses why the previous date failed.

What did the JW members do when the dates failed?  They went along with the new date and then the new date failed. Then again the Leaders of the WatchTower set yet another date but, every one of those dates failed as well. Why did those dates fail?  Because the leaders of the WatchTower were false teachers as predicted by Christ when He told us false prophets and false teachers who come in the last days.

 False Prophecy Date by JW organization. 

Why am I telling you about the WatchTower failures?  Because like the excuses made by the JW organization Scott Clarke has done the same thing with his teaching that the Revelation 12 sign  which comes Sept. 23, 2017 is the sign the Church would be born because as Scott teaches, the Church was not born on Pentecost.  For over a year Scott has placed many videos on his YouTube channel pointing the this Rev. 12 sign.  Now that the 23rd of September has come and gone and the Church was not raptured away like the JW’s Scott has changed things up. Now he says the 24th is a better day for the fulfillment of his teaching. What the failed 23rd date shows is that the Church was in fact really born on Pentecost as seen in the Bible and not on the coming Rev. 12 sign as Scott would have you believe.  Watch the video below and see how Scott tries to wiggled out of the fail date he stressed  for so long  for people to watch.  Before the September 23rd date came I wrote Scott and told him the 23rd would come and go without the fulfillment of what He taught. Now that he has move the date to the Sept. 24th date I will tell Scott the same thing! September 24, 2017 will be just as bad for you as the 23rd in that what you teach will fail!

Of course Scott wasn’t the only one who gave false teaching for the 23rd sign. David Meade was also one of the main people pressing this date.  Just like Scott is now doing changing his false date David Meade is also changing his date. It’s a remake if you will of what the JW’s did so many times.

Hurricane Maria: Whole of Puerto Rico without power

Hurricane Maria has knocked out power across the island of Puerto Rico, home to 3.5m people, officials have said. The US National Hurricane Center said “catastrophic” flooding was sweeping parts of the island. Meanwhile more pictures are emerging of widespread destruction on the small island of Dominica, hit on Monday.

Take a look at Luke 21:25 and you will see Jesus warned us all that nations would be perplexed. Isn’t that what is happening now?  Can you imagine now having power for days let alone for months?  Think about what the governments who have been hit by either the earthquakes or those massive hurricanes. I can assure you by the amount of damage these events have caused the Mexican and American governments are trying to figure out how to dig out of the disasters.  Can you imagine the logistics it is going to take to help hundreds of thousands of people? The bad part of all this is the disasters aren’t over they will get much worse.

Many of my viewers have heard that the rapture of the Church would happen some time on the Feast of Trumpets. Every time September comes around many take note of the date and, wonder if this will be the year Jesus comes back on this Jewish Feast day? I realize there are many bible teachers suggesting that the rapture of the Church may take place on September 23, in two days.  Since the real date of the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashana as it is called in Israel and, today  is the 21st of September it is very unlikely the rapture event will happen on the 23rd.

If you click the link below that will take you to the report you will see for yourself the Jews are celebrating this Feast today on the real day it is suppose to be celebrated.  There have been a few bible teachers who without setting a date have pushed the September 23 rd date and have gotten many Christians hope up that they will be taken away to heaven on the 23rd but, I can assure you all the 23rd will come and go without any breaking news that millions of people has suddenly disappeared from the Earth. What will all the people who have been pushing the Sept. 23rd date do when Sept. 24th comes and everyone is still on Earth?  I guess as one teacher said, “I will have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what went wrong?”

Just  because the Church doesn’t get raptured on the 23rd don’t think the Lord isn’t coming soon. It is easy to see that all the things Jesus told us would happen in one generation are in fact taking place now. We can see the birthpains are getting much worse! Ask the people in Texas, Florida, and Mexico if they think things are getting worse?

Headline Fright night! Models made-up like skeletons and vampires don nightmare-inspired outfits as they take to the catwalk for London Fashion Week

An up-and-coming rebel of the fashion world made sure that her show was one to remember as she sent her latest range of boundary-pushing designs down the catwalk at London Fashion Week on Monday night. Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, which was showcased at the alter of a Catholic church, had an element of Victorian Goth combined with satanic imagery.

Headline: Hamas Invites Abbas to Resume Control of Gaza

Hamas on Tuesday invited Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to send officials to Gaza to resume control of the coastal enclave the Islamic militant group seized a decade ago. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said his group is serious about returning power to the Western-backed Palestinian leader and called on him to respond with “practical steps.” Hamas has said it will dismantle a contentious committee that has governed Gaza in recent months – answering a key Abbas demand. It has also said it is ready to hand over all government functions to Abbas and to hold elections in Gaza and the West Bank. “We extend a clear and frank invitation without obstacles for the consensus government to work in Gaza,” Haniyeh said after returning from Cairo, where he and other Hamas leaders held rare talks with Egyptian officials.

Egypt’s more than 40 years of peace with Israel can be repeated in the Palestinian territories if Palestinian Arabs are willing to overcome their differences with Israelis and one another, Egyptian President Abdul Fatah Sisi said in an address to the UN General Assembly on Sept. 19. Addressing Israelis, Sisi said, “We have an excellent experience in Egypt in peace with you for longer than 40 years.” The 1979 peace accord between Israel and Egypt marked the first time an Arab nation signed a treaty with Israel. “We can repeat this experience and this excellent step once again – the peace and security of the Israeli citizens together with the peace and security of the Palestinian citizens,” Sisi said. “I tell the Palestinian people it’s extremely important … to overcome the differences and not to lose opportunities and to be ready to accept co-existence with the other, with Israelis in safety and security.” Sisi addressed the General Assembly hours after he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It was the first time Sisi and Netanyahu have held public talks. They twice met for closed-door talks in 2016. A statement by Netanyahu’s office following the meeting said the two leaders held a “comprehensive discussion about the problems of the region.”

Headline: Extremists launch big attack on Syrian government near Hama

Extremists launched an offensive against government-held parts of northwestern Syria near Hama on Tuesday in their biggest attack there since March, triggering heavy air strikes on rebel territory, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. It said air strikes hit three hospitals, a medical centre and premises used by a rescue service in rebel-held Idlib. A Syrian military source denied the report, saying only insurgent convoys and positions had been hit. A Syrian army source cited by state media said the attack launched on several fronts was being repelled, and the insurgents had suffered losses. “The clashes are continuing and the air force and artillery are targeting the headquarters and movements of the terrorist convoys in the area,” said the source. An insurgent source told Reuters that rebels were making advances in the northern Hama countryside, in an area where President Bashar Assad and his allies have been steadily rolling back rebel gains over the last two years. The observatory said insurgents taking part in the assault included Tahrir Al Sham, the extremist Turkistan Islamic Party, and rebels fighting under the banner of the Free Syrian Army. Headline:  Iraqi forces ‘attack last IS bastion on Syria border

Iraqi forces are reported to have launched an operation to recapture the last stronghold of so-called Islamic State in the country’s western desert. A military source told the BBC that soldiers, Anbar provincial police and Sunni Arab tribal fighters began moving on the town of Ana on Tuesday morning. Their progress was slowed initially by dozens of booby-traps, the source said. The Iraqi military source said the assault on Ana and its surrounding district was being supported by US-led coalition air strikes and military advisers on the ground. Coalition warplanes had destroyed an explosives-packed car driven by a suicide bomber shortly after the start of the operation, the source added. After retaking Ana, the troops will target Rawa, 12km (7.5 miles) to the north, and then al-Qaim, the last town before the border with Syria.

In his speech on Tuesday, Trump called Iran a “depleted rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed, and chaos,” saying that it funds “terrorists that kill innocent Muslims and attack their peaceful Arab and Israeli neighbors.” He also slammed the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran as “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions” in US history. Widespread flooding was reported, with dozens of cars half-submerged in some neighborhoods and many streets turned into rivers. People calling local radio stations reported that doors were being torn off their hinges and a water tank flew away. As of 2 p.m. EDT, Maria had weakened to a Category 3, with winds of 115 mph (185 kph). It was off Puerto Rico’s northwestern coast, moving at about 15 mph (20 kph), and was expected to pass off the coast of the Dominican Republic late Wednesday and Thursday.

Headline: In overture to Fatah, Hamas agrees to dissolve its governing body in Gaza

In an overture to its rival Fatah, Hamas agreed on Sunday to dissolve its governing body in the Gaza Strip, allow the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority government to take over in its place and hold general elections. For the past several months, Fatah and its chairman Mahmoud Abbas have called on Hamas to announce and implement such a plan.
Since Hamas ousted the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Authority from Gaza in 2007, Hamas and Fatah have essentially established two separate governments – one Hamasrun government in Gaza and another led by the PA in the West Bank. While the two parties have signed a number of reconciliation agreements aimed at creating one shared government, they have failed to implement any of them. Hamas’s announcement on Sunday followed separate talks in Cairo last week between Egyptian and Fatah officials and between Egyptian and Hamas officials. The groups of Fatah and Hamas officials were still in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Sunday evening.

Headline: Iranian official: We have the ‘father of all bombs’

A senior official in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed over the weekend that Iran is in possession of what he described as the “father of all bombs”. According to the official, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Iran has produced a domestically-made 10-ton bomb with a high destructive power. “Following a proposal by the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Iran’s Defense Industries Organization manufactured a 10-ton bomb; these bombs are at our disposal and can be launched from Ilyushin aircraft and they are highly destructive,” Hajizadeh said, according to a report in the semiofficial Fars news agency. The commander pointed to the ordnance as Iran’s “father of all bombs” as compared with the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), also known as the “mother of all bombs,” which the U.S. Air Force dropped on Islamic State (ISIS) targets in Afghanistan in April. Hajizadeh also claimed that in recent years, the IRGC has penetrated into U.S. military command centers and has evidence of their support for ISIS terrorists.

Headline: 80 Arrested in St. Louis Protests Over Police Officer’s Acquittal

St. Louis Riot police arrested dozens Sunday night following the latest round of clashes with demonstrators protesting the acquittal of a white police officer in the shooting death of a black man. At least 80 arrests were made in what was the third night of violence in the city, with hundreds of people protesting Friday’s court decision that found Jason Stockley, a 36-year-old cop, not guilty in the 2011 death of Anthony Lamar Smith. The verdict has enraged some of the city’s residents, prompting daily protests that at times turned violent. Both Friday and Saturday, the protesters got agitated and confronted the police officers. Thirty were arrested on Saturday night. On Sunday, hundreds marched through the downtown streets of St. Louis. Despite the march remaining peaceful in the early hours amid the deployment of massive police forces, the protest turned violent by nightfall after roughly 100 protesters became confrontational while marching towards the center of downtown.

Headline: Boko Haram suicide attack kills at least 15 in north Nigeria

A Nigerian rescue official says at least 15 people have been killed and 43 others injured in a suicide attack on Mashimari village in Borno state. Bello Dambatta, head of rescue operations for the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, said women were the majority of those killed in the Monday morning attack and the toll is likely to rise. Dambatta also said most of the victims were evacuated to medical facilities in Maiduguri and Konduga. Bunu Bukar, Secretary of the Hunters Association in Borno State, said three suicide bombers staged the attack after gunshots got villagers to run. The village is not far from the Mandarari Internal Displacement Camp that was attacked in August, he said.

Russia rejected a request from Jerusalem for a 60-kilometer buffer zone between the Golan Heights and any Iranian-backed militias in Syria, and is only promising that the Shi’ite fighters would not come any closer to Israel than 5 kilometers, according to media reports late on Thursday night. The news of the Kremlin’s rejection broke in advance of Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump in New York on Monday. It also came as a senior Russian negotiator said that Russia, Turkey and Iran are close to finalizing an agreement on creating four de-escalation zones in Syria. The prime minister has repeatedly warned about Iran’s expanding influence in Syria. In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, he said, “Aside from trying to build atomic bombs,” Tehran is “trying to place the Iranian Army in Syria. They want to colonize Syria the way they colonized Lebanon.”

Headline: Iraq: At least 60 die in twin attacks near Nasiriya

At least 60 people have been killed in two attacks in southern Iraq, police and health officials say. A suicide bomber detonated a vest and gunmen opened fire inside a restaurant near Nasiriya, capital of Dhiqar province, security sources said. Soon afterwards, a car bomb exploded at a nearby checkpoint. So-called Islamic State said it carried out the attacks. Shia Muslim pilgrims including Iranians were killed by the suspected militants. According to news agency AFP, one report said the attackers were disguised as members of Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilisation) – a mainly Shia group that has fought alongside Iraqi forces against IS. The attackers struck at midday local time (09:00 GMT) in stolen army vehicles. “One attacker blew up his suicide vest inside the crowded restaurant while a group of other gunmen started to throw grenades and fire at diners,” said police colonel Ali Abdul Hussain, quoted by Reuters. At least seven Iranians were among the dead, health officials said, adding that more than 90 people were injured.

Lawmakers in Togo began debating presidential term limits Friday, after days of protests calling for constitutional reform and the departure of the ruling family. The West African nation has been ruled by one family for 50 years, and its current president, Faure Gnassingbé, has held power since 2005. Gnassingbé’s opponents are demanding a two-term limit for presidents, two rounds of voting in elections and the right of the Togolese diaspora to vote. The demonstrations began on September 6, and security forces have used tear gas and physical force, most recently on Wednesday, to disperse the crowds. Government supporters have organized counter protests to voice support for the ruling party. Opposition leaders organized a walkout from parliament earlier this week after participating in a special session to address the constitutional crisis. That session ended abruptly following heated debate. During the September 6 protests, Amnesty International reported that the leader of an opposition party was confined to his house, which was surrounded by security forces. During earlier protests in August, two were killed and 28 people sentenced to prison terms, Amnesty said. The government also shut down internet access.

Police said a hunt involving hundreds of detectives backed by the intelligence services was underway to find out who was responsible. Rowley declined to say if the suspected bomber had been on the train, saying it was a live investigation.

The missile was fired from the district of Sunan in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, home to the country’s main airport. In what was the longest recorded flight by a North Korean missile, Friday’s launch flew a total of about 2,300 miles, reaching an altitude of 480 miles before falling into the Pacific Ocean. This indicates that the US military base on Guam at a distance of 2,100 miles from North Korea, is within striking distance. A second North Korean missile launched at the same time landed in the sea in the initial stages. The act of aggression came one day after the North Korean government issued a statement threatening to “sink” the Japan and turn the US “into ashes and darkness”. The Korea Asia-Pacific peace committee, which oversees North Korea’s relations with the outside world, issued a statement on Thursday saying, “The four islands of the [Japanese] archipelago should be sunken into the sea by the nuclear bomb of [North Korea],” the committee said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency, adding, “Japan is no longer needed to exist near us.” South Korea y responded by launching two missiles into the sea as a show of force while the North Korean missile was still in the air. Though the South Korean missile was not aimed at North Korea, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said to the media that it was capable of striking the Sunan airport launch site near Pyongyang used for today’s launch.

Headline: Venezuela Stops Accepting Dollars For Oil Payments

Apparently confirming what President Maduro had warned following the recent US sanctions, The Wall Street Journal reports that Venezuela has officially stopped accepting US Dollars as payment for its crude oil exports. As we previously noted, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said last Thursday that Venezuela will be looking to “free” itself from the U.S. dollar next week. According to Reuters, “Venezuela is going to implement a new system of international payments and will create a basket of currencies to free us from the dollar,” Maduro said in a multi-hour address to a new legislative “superbody.” He reportedly did not provide details of this new proposal. Maduro hinted further that the South American country would look to using the yuan instead, among other currencies.“If they pursue us with the dollar, we’ll use the Russian ruble, the yuan, yen, the Indian rupee, the euro,” Maduro also said. And today, as The Wall Street Journal reports, in an effort to circumvent U.S. sanctions, Venezuela is telling oil traders that it will no longer receive or send payments in dollars, people familiar with the new policy said. Oil traders who export Venezuelan crude or import oil products into the country have begun converting their invoices to euros. The state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela SA, known as PdVSA, has told its private joint venture partners to open accounts in euros and to convert existing cash holdings into Europe’s main currency, said one project partner.The new payment policy hasn’t been publicly announced, but Vice President Tareck El Aissami, who has been blacklisted by the U.S., said Friday, “To fight against the economic blockade there will be a basket of currencies to liberate us from the dollar.” There is no major market reaction for now – a modest bid to Bitcoin and some weakness in EUR and Gold (seems someone wants this to look like nothing).
