I want you to keep in my the prophecy warning given to us via Jesus Christ through the Apostle John was given to us almost 2,000 years ago. Israel Eyes Becoming a Cashless Society

“A special committee headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, Harel Locker, has recommended a three-phase plan to all but do away with cash transactions in Israel. The motivation for examining a cash-less economy is combatting money laundering and other tax-evasion tactics, thereby maximizing potential tax collection and greatly expanding the tax base. This is important considering the enormous strain put on Israel’s national budget by the army, healthcare system and other public services. The committee estimated that the black market represents over 20 percent of Israel’s GDP, and cash is the facilitating factor. Cash enables tax evasion, money laundering and even financing terrorism.”

“What the committee would like to see happen, pending government approval, is greater restriction on the use of cash, limiting the use of checks as a means of payment and exchange for cash, and promotion of the use of electronic (and therefore verifiable) means of payment.”

I wish that I could lead all of you to Christ for safety in Him. However, I know that even if some of you see this major sign you will still turn your head the other way and refuse to embrace Jesus Christ as the true Messiah. Our Lord is showing us via the news that you can trust what He says about our future. 1 Thessalonians 5:3³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  Jesus told the Apostle Paul some very important information as to the last days.  When you put the call for Peace and safety along side Daniel 9:26-27 where we see the Antichrist comes confirming a covenant for a period of 7 years with Israel and many people. No doubt the many people is in reference to the Arab nations.  Daniel also points to Rome.  Take a look.

²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.  We know that the people who destroyed the city and the Temple were the Romans so in the last days we know that the Lord is pointing to Rome again and, the man of sin will rise up from the revived Roman Empire.  Knowing this any time you see news calling for Peace and Safety involving Italy or the Pope I pay special attention.   It was just confirmed that the Israeli Prime Ministry and the Leader of the PLO will be going to Rome to discuss the stalled peace talks.

The war talk between Hizballah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah’s and Israel continues. Anyone who isn’t familiar with prophecy probably wouldn’t think much about this news but for those who know what Psalm 83 says this news is pointing to the way of the next war between the Arabs and Israel.  Hassan Nasrallah more than likely doesn’t know what the Psalm 83 prophecy states but, if he did read it he may find it interesting that the Hizballah will be part of this war and, learn that the out come will be disastrous for those nations who attack Israel.

Daniel 2:42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. We read warning from the scriptures above that this revived Roman Empire will not hold together.  We have been watching signs in Europe that shows the revived Roman Empire is on the way to breaking down as we see in Daniel 2: 42-42.  According to the Revelation 17: 12 we see 10 kings from the revived Rome Empire giving all their power over to the Antichrist.  I can’t tell you for sure what will be the cause of the EU breaking up but if this is the Empire both Jesus and Daniel point to there will be a break up!  The news today points to what we see in scripture as someone just won an election in the EU with high hopes of breaking up the EU!!

Could this be the beginning of what was warned?  Better take a look again at what the report says about her being anti-EU and immigration!  They shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another.  Isn’t this exactly what we see Miss Le Pen doing?  You bet.

Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On: Busy Stretch for Large Earthquakes

If you have gotten the sense that Earth has been active lately, you were right.

A Live Science analysis of U.S. Geological Survey data finds that April’s first three weeks were the busiest stretch for earthquakes going back to at least the beginning of last year. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said April was a record month for warnings from the Alaska-based center. How about May? There were 17 magnitude-6 or larger earthquakes globally between May 1 and May 20, following a busy April that saw 26 temblors in that same magnitude range. Headline: Hilik Bar withdraws support for Temple Mount prayer bill

Labor MK Hilik Bar has withdrawn his signature from a bill that would ensure the right to prayer on the Temple Mount for Jews, just days after expressing enthusiastic support for the idea. A statement from Bar’s office said he ended his backing for the bill, which he sponsored in cooperation with Likud MK Miri Regev, after consultations with security officials and political and diplomatic figures. The Labor Party’s chairman Isaac Herzog and Knesset faction chairman Eitan Cabel asked that Bar withdraw his support in light of their position that Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount can only be achieved through “dialogue and not legislation.” “I suspend my support for the bill without happiness or celebration because the bill is moderate, has many positive aspects and is commensurate with the rulings of the High Court of Justice,” Bar said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not suggest evacuating Jewish settlements when he told Bloomberg that Israel is considering unilateral steps in the West Bank, senior officials at the Prime Minister’s Office said on Friday. “The prime minister has no intention of evacuating settlements,” the officials said. In the interview published earlier on Friday, Netanyahu told Jeffery Goldberg that “the idea of taking unilateral steps is gaining ground, from the center-left to the center-right.” It was the second time in two weeks that Netanyahu had suggested political alternatives to negotiations with the Palestinians. The senior officials at the PMO said that in the wake of the breakdown of talks with the Palestinians, several Israeli officials have talked about alternative political plans. “The prime minister is currently considering the steps that can be taken with regard to the Palestinians,” the officials said, “in light of the new situation that arose following the breakdown of talks and the reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah.” They added that Netanyahu is consulting with party leaders on this issue.

Headline: Islamic Jihad Preparing to Join PLO

Ramadan Salah, leader of the Gaza-based terror organization Islamic Jihad, declared to the Arabic paper Al-Hayat on Tuesday that his group “is prepared to join the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) on a new political and organizational basis.” The PLO has achieved international recognition as the representative of the “Palestinian people” since the 1993 Oslo Accords. The Palestinian Authority (PA) was established by the PLO to govern Arab residents living under the group’s auspices. However, the PLO has never renounced terrorism. Islamic Jihad for its part was behind the mid-March showering of roughly 100 rockets on Israel over three days. Salah’s statement confirms Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s comments last Friday, when he said that Hamas and Islamic Jihad would be integrated in the PLO’s leadership and take part in elections for PLO institutions. Such a change in the institutional organization of the PLO is a result of the unity deal between Fatah and Hamas, which is expected to the formation of a unity government next week.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) announced that they would continue to fight against the “Israeli occupation” this week, turning to the Arab League for help establishing a “sovereign and independent state under 1967 borders.” Jibril Rajoub, a member of Fatah’s Central Committee, said this week in Doha in a lecture on “State of the Palestinian struggle” that the negotiations did not lead to any outcome for the Palestinian Arabs due to “Israeli intransigence,” and that the Arab League’s support is desperately needed to solve the “Palestinian problem.” Rajoub proposed that the PA aim to be recognized internationally by “regional powers” (i.e. the Arab League), and to use such recognition to build up a large army and a popular front to end the “racist and fascist Occupation.”

The Palestinian Hamas terrorist group has been restored to the Iranian fold and won the promise of an annual allowance of $200 million per year, military assistance and advanced weapons on a par with the hardware supplied to Jihad Islami. debkafile’s sources report that this deal was secretly sealed in Doha on Thursday, May 22, at a meeting between Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Hamas’s politburo head Khaled Mashaal. It culminated a month of intense Hamas-Tehran negotiations, which were conducted quietly in parallel with Hamas’s unity talks with the rival Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Hamas is now reinstated as a member of the radical Iran-Syrian-Hizballah Middle Eastern bloc, with all the accoutrements of an ally which it forfeited by turning its back on Bashar Assad at a low moment in the civil war. Tehran has promised to restore the flow of cash and advanced weapons, and go back to training Hamas operatives at courses run by the Revolutionary Guards. US Secretary of State John Kerry knew this was going on when he met Abbas in London on May 14, but preferred not to raise the issue. Israel’s Justice Minister and negotiator, Tzipi Livni, likewise ignored the Hamas-Tehran pact when she talked to Abbas the next day. Before clinching the deal, Iran required Meshaal to publicly endorse Iran’s policy in Syria and his support for Bashar Assad.

Headline: Rocket Strikes Southern Israel, Shots Fired at IDF Troops

Terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket which struck southern Israel on Friday, without causing casualties or damage, following a weeks-long lull, the army said. A spokeswoman told AFP it struck open ground in the Shaar Hanegev area. Also on Friday shots were fired at Israeli soldiers operating near the Gaza border fence, military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner said. “Forces fired in response. No injuries reported,” Lerner wrote on Twitter. Over 100 projectiles fired by terrorists in the Gaza Strip, ruled by the Islamist movement Hamas, have struck Israel since the start of 2014, according to military data.

Headline: Deputy Hezbollah Leader: Israel is the Greatest Enemy

The Hezbollah terror group continues to see Israel as its central enemy and not the rebels in Syria, the group’s deputy leader said on Thursday. “Israel is the main enemy,” Sheikh Naim Qassem said, according to the Lebanese Daily Star. “But the tactical priority depends on the direct threat, so our confrontation with takfiri (extremist) groups derives from the direct danger they represent, and it does not affect our readiness to confront Israel,” he declared. Qassem gave the speech in a conference organized by the Institute of Wisdom Knowledge as part of the Permanent Conference for Resistance. The institute is a research school close to Hezbollah that specializes in philosophical and religious studies, according to the Daily Star. The talk focused on demonstrating that Israel’s existence is illegitimate, that the country is an eternal enemy to Lebanon and all Arabs, and that armed resistance is the right way of confronting it. “Israel is the enemy of humanity and truth,” said Qassem. “It cannot coexist with anyone.”

Headline: Clashes across Egypt leave at least four people dead

At least four people have been killed and dozens more injured after Egyptian security forces attacked anti-government protesters in yet another day of violence across the country. Security forces fired tear gas and birdshot to disperse thousands of anti-government protesters in the Egyptian cities of Cairo and Giza, as well as across the Sinai Peninsula. Two protesters were killed in the district of Matariya, which is located at the northern region of Greater Cairo. Two other anti-government protesters were killed in the town of Fayoum. Protesters held massive demonstrations across Egypt after Friday prayers, denouncing the upcoming presidential election. They argued that the vote is farce and conducted by what they call a bloody coup leader.

Headline:  Syrian opposition releases video of a reported chlorine gas attack

Mortar fire has hit an election rally in support of President Bashar al-Assad in southern Syria, killing at least 20 people, state media and activists say. The attack happened as Assad supporters gathered in a tent in the city of Deraa on Thursday evening. President Assad was not at the event. At least 30 people have been injured, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports. Syrians are due to vote on 3 June in an election branded a sham by the West. The president is facing two other challengers, but he is widely expected to secure a third seven-year term in office – despite a brutal civil war now in its fourth year. Thursday’s attack happened in the al-Matar district of Deraa, said the Observatory, which relies on reports from a network of activists on the ground. It said the strike was carried out by an Islamist rebel brigade, and killed 11 civilians – including one child – and pro-government militiamen.

Tanks and armored vehicles rolled into the grounds of the prison in the main northern city of Aleppo, more than a year into a rebel siege of the sprawling complex, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The development puts the army and its allies, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, within reach of Castelo Road, which rebels in Aleppo have relied on as a supply route leading to a countryside rear base.

One more citizen “has lost his life. We have lost a person who was wounded by a hand grenade. The death toll has risen to two,” Istanbul Governor Avni Mutlu told reporters on Friday. This comes after another Turkish protester, who was shot by security forces in a protest in Istanbul, died of his injuries on Thursday. The Istanbul governor says the 30-year-old man was shot in the head during a clash with the police. Security forces used tear gas and water cannon and fired in the air during the crackdown. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reacting to two deaths this week in clashes between police and protesters, said Friday that he was “amazed” by the patience of the police. “We won’t remain silent against the blood mongers who use (the mine disaster) as an excuse to break, ravage, attack police and commit murder,” Erdogan said in a speech to members of his ruling party. “Do you expect police to stand idly by and watch? The Department of Agriculture has warned of sticker shock facing home chefs on the eve of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the unofficial start of the U.S. summer grilling season. The agency said conditions in California could have “large and lasting effects on U.S. fruit, vegetable, dairy and egg prices,” as the most populous U.S. state struggles through what officials are calling a catastrophic drought. The consumer price index (CPI) for U.S. beef and veal is up almost 10 percent so far in 2014, reflecting the fastest increase in retail beef prices since the end of 2003. Prices, even after adjusting for inflation, are at record highs. “The drought in Texas and Oklahoma has worsened somewhat in the last month, providing further complications to the beef production industry,” USDA said. Beef and veal prices for the whole of 2014 are now forecast to increase by 5.5 percent to 6.5 percent, a sharp advance from last month’s forecast for a 3 to 4 percent rise. Pork prices are set to rise by 3 percent to 4 percent, up from a 2 to 3 percent advance expected a month ago. The USDA said overall U.S. food price inflation for 2014, including food bought at grocery stores and food bought at restaurants, would rise by 2.5 percent to 3.5 percent in 2014.

It’s like everything is coming apart,” said 34-year-old Sahira Francisco as she and her daughter waited for treatment at a hospital in San Cristobal, a town in the southern Dominican Republic that has seen a surge of the cases in recent days. The virus is chikungunya, derived from an African word that loosely translates as “contorted with pain.” People encountering it in the Caribbean for the first time say the description is fitting. While the virus is rarely fatal it is extremely debilitating. “It is terrible, I have never in my life gotten such an illness,” said Maria Norde, a 66-year-old woman confined to bed at her home on the lush eastern Caribbean island of Dominica. “All my joints are in pain.”

This has been a big week for food product recalls and the risk of food borne illness. Seven confirmed and three likely cases of E. coli infection linked to raw clover sprouts have been reported, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. The patients are all in either Idaho or Washington. Half the people who have fallen ill have been hospitalized. Preliminary investigations indicate the likely source of this outbreak are raw clover sprouts produced by Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC of Idaho, the CDC said. The state departments of health in Washington and Idaho are telling consumers not to eat raw clover sprouts produced by Evergreen Fresh Sprouts. Meanwhile, hummus and dip products totaling about 14,860 pounds are being voluntarily recalled by Lansal Inc. amid concerns about possible bacterial contamination. At the same time, Sherman Produce is recalling some bulk and packaged walnuts sold to retailers in Missouri and Illinois. These two recalls are precautionary measures against possible Listeria monocytogenes, which may cause serious and even fatal infections in people with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly.

Headline: Mid-Atlantic braves huge hail, pounding rains and powerful winds

A potent storm system socked the Mid-Atlantic and as far north as New York on Thursday, lashing the region with damaging hail, strong winds and pelting rains. Clashes over a controversial water project in the suburbs of Mexico City have left at least 100 Mexican police officers injured. The clashes broke out on Thursday after residents, protesting a water supply plan in San Bartolo Ameyalco, a town in the Mexico City borough of Alvaro Obregon, put up barricades, set fires, and threw bottles at police, who had moved in to protect city workers. Fresh clashes have erupted in Bahrain between security forces and anti-regime protesters in several towns as the ruling Al Khalifa regime continues its heavy-handed crackdown on political dissent. According to reports, Bahraini security guards fired tear gas to disperse the demonstrators who were holding an anti-regime protest rally in the Ras Rumman neighborhood of the capital, Manama, on Thursday. A series of bulletins ran on national television, one broadcast ordering former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and three other relatives of controversial billionaire-turned-politician Thaksin Shinawatra to report to military authorities today. Another bulletin declared social media platforms would be blocked if content inciting violence or criticism of the new military leaders was found. “Cooperation from social media operators and all involved to stop such messages that incite violence, break the law or criticise the coup council,” the new ruling junta said. “If we find any to be in violation, we will suspend the service immediately and will summon those responsible for prosecution.”

The US-Israel Strategic Partnership Act, under the scalpel in Congress since March of last year, was taken off the Senate agenda after top Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee attached an amendment that would have triggered hearings on any deal reached between world powers and Iran over its nuclear program. High-level negotiations are under way in Vienna on that issue, where the US, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, and Germany are trying to forge a comprehensive agreement that will end concerns over military dimensions to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear progress. Headline:  Abbas: Palestinians not seeking to join more UN agencies for now

The Palestine Liberation Organization has no plans to request membership from any additional international organizations in the near future, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said in an interview with Walla news site on Wednesday. Israel is aware of the Palestinian decision, Walla reported. The decision is surprising given that the PA leadership has been saying since April that it plans to turn to various UN agencies in light of the failure of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. The Palestinian Authority applied to join 15 UN institutions in early April, with the Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations saying the PA could also become a signatory to up to 550 international treaties or conventions. Abbas told Walla the Palestinians are still waiting to see what the next diplomatic developments will be. Headline:  Gaza Terrorists Target IDF with Mortars, Bomb

Two attacks on IDF soldiers near the security fence of Gaza occurred on Wednesday. Three mortar shells were fired at IDF forces conducting activities to expose terror tunnels just over the fence in central Gaza. Likewise an explosive charge was detonated near an IDF routine patrol near the security fence in southern Gaza. No injuries among the soldiers were reported, although the blast caused light damage to engineering equipment. Walla! reports that the blast apparently damaged a bulldozer. IDF forces responded by opening fire at points on the other side of the fence where they suspected the presence of terrorists surveying the effects of the bomb. A large package of documents, including bilateral, intergovernmental, inter-departmental and corporate agreements are expected to be signed during the two-day visit, aimed at cementing Russian-Chinese relations. Russia today carried out a successful test-launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, news agencies reported citing the defence ministry, amid a standoff between Moscow and the West over Ukraine. Interfax and ITAR-TASS quoted the defence ministry as saying a successful test of the RS-12M Topol ICBM had been carried out from Russia’s Kapustin Yar rocket launch site near the Caspian Sea at 2238 IST (1708 GMT). “The purpose of the launch was to test a prospective warhead of intercontinental ballistic missiles,” Interfax quoted defence ministry spokesman Igor Yegorov as saying, without providing further details. Tuesday’s demonstration turned violent after police fired tear gas at the students who reacted by hurling stones. “We have arrested over a hundred of them but some have been released,” Nairobi police official Paul Wanjama said. Police forces also stormed the University of Nairobi’s main campus, shooting tear gas and breaking down classroom doors. Nairobi police chief Benson Kibue defended the crackdown by its forces, saying, “In any demonstration, you must do it in such a way as not to interrupt or interfere with the activities of other Kenyans. When you cause an obstruction or instill fear among bystanders, then that ceases to be a peaceful demonstration.” Similar demos were held in various public universities throughout the country.

Headline:  Malian army flees Tuareg rebels in northern town

The UN Security Council called for an immediate end to violence in northern Mali after more than 30 people were killed in fighting between rebels and the army in a flashpoint town. Tuareg separatists clashed with Malian soldiers in Kidal during a visit by Prime Minister Moussa Mara, whose government is backed by French soldiers who have helped dislodge rebels and armed Islamic extremists from northern towns. The fighters of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) took 32 civil servants hostage but released them on Monday. The battle left eight Malian soldiers and 28 rebels dead. “The members of the Security Council strongly condemned the violent clashes in Kidal on May 17 and 18,” the 15-member Council said in a statement. “The members of the Security Council insisted on the need for those responsible for these actions to be identified and held accountable. “The members of the Security Council called on all parties to act with restraint and refrain from any further violence that could threaten civilians.” They also called for “sincere” peace talks and “reiterated that only a credible and inclusive negotiation process can bring long-term peace and stability throughout the country.”

Headline:  Dozens dead in Yemen clashes

Clashes between Yemen’s army and Houthi rebels have left dozens of people dead in a rebel stronghold in the country’s northeast. Military sources told Al Jazeera that at least eight soldiers were killed in Tuesday’s fighting in Amran city. Local officials said as many as 30 rebels were also killed in the fighting, north of the capital Sanaa. Dozens of other combatants were reported wounded in the gunfight that erupted on the western outskirts of the city, medics at Amran hospital told the AFP news agency. A military source said clashes broke out after rebels attacked an army position in the area. The rebels complain that Yemen would be divided into rich and poor regions under a federalisation plan agreed in February following national talks that were part of a political transition. Tensions remain high in Amran where Houthis have been trying to enforce their presence through armed parades and protests against the military.

Headline:  Bahrain forces kill anti-regime protester

Bahraini Security forces have killed an anti-regime protester who had participated in a rally in the island of Sitra. The victim has been identified as Seyyed Mahmoud Seyyed Mohsen. Reports indicate that the killing took place during clashes with protesters who had gathered to remember Ali Faisal al-Akrawi, who was killed in a blast near his home on May 16. At the time of his death, Akrawi was reportedly in hiding following an absentia prison sentence of 10 years over his alleged role in anti-government protests. On May 19, Amnesty International issued a statement voicing concern over the lack of judiciary reform in Bahrain and severe crackdown on anti-regime protesters.

Prayuth Chan-Ocha, assumed the role of mediator by summoning seven key political rivals for face-to-face talks Wednesday for the first time since Thailand’s political turmoil escalated six months ago. The meeting of bitter political enemies was unlikely to yield any immediate resolution, but the event itself was a stunning development. The high-profile figures invited to the meeting included anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban and his rival from the pro-government Red Shirt group, Jatuporn Prompan, and the acting prime minister, who did not attend but sent four representatives. Also summoned were leaders of the ruling Pheu Thai Party, the opposition Democrat Party, the Election Commission and representatives from the Senate. In declaring martial law Tuesday, the army said it needed to restore order after long-running political protests that have been targeted by violence. In the latest attack last week, grenades fired at an anti-government protest site in Bangkok left three people dead and more than 20 injured. The anti-government protest leader billed this week as the “final battle” in ousting the government. Meanwhile, thousands of Red Shirt government supporters were gathering on Bangkok’s outskirts.

A few days ago, the leader of a small political party in England was arrested after speaking on the steps of Guildhall in Winchester. Paul Weston is chairman of Liberty-GB. To see his picture, you would think he is a lawyer or a doctor or a CPA or even a local pastor.

However, Paul Weston must be a rabble-rouser, at the least, or an anarchist, at worst, who advocates the overthrow of the British government. Otherwise, why would the authorities arrest him for his public speech?

He may be a rabble-rouser, but he’s not an anarchist.

The public comments that caused Weston’s arrest on “suspicion of racial harassment,” were much more incendiary than the toppling of the government or the overthrow of the monarchy. Weston was critical of Islam.

On top of that, it wasn’t even Weston’s words which were critical of the world’s most protected and coddled religion and to which the authorities objected. They were the words of none other than Great Britain’s revered favorite son: Sir Winston Churchill.

Mr. Weston read a passage from a book by Churchill entitled The River War. A young Churchill wrote the book around 1899 based on his experiences as a British Army officer during the Mahdist War in the Sudan.

I have long been an admirer of Winston Churchill and have quoted him often on The Hal Lindsey Report. I have also been critical of Mr. Churchill’s complicity in the naive drawing of the borders of the nations of the modern Middle East. Despite those criticisms, however, I have always acknowledged that few men in history had a way of grasping a situation and its implications as thoroughly as Winston Churchill.

That’s why it’s worth noting when Winston Churchill describes Islam by saying, “The influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.”

And those are just some of the words that landed Paul Weston in jail.

I think it’s eerily ironic that the two practices you cannot criticize without risking your livelihood, your social standing, or even your life are Islam and homosexuality. But what’s even more bizarre is that if you’re Muslim and live in a society governed by Sharia law, it’s acceptable to not only criticize homosexuality, but execute homosexuals.

And though the Gay movement doesn’t hesitate to publicly crucify – even destroy – anyone who doesn’t “approve” of their agenda, they’re strangely silent when it comes to criticizing Islam for its beliefs and practices.

That’s part of the problem they’re facing over the Beverly Hills Hotel. A company owned by the Sultan of Brunei now owns the famous hotel, home of the even more famous Polo Lounge, long a gathering place of Hollywood’s A-list.

Brunei is a tiny, oil rich country in Southeast Asia. And what the country owns belongs to the Sultan. That’s why he’s one of the world’s richest people.

That’s not the problem, though. His wealth and mind-blowing extravagance (he has 7,000 cars and, probably, his very own parking garage!) alone would make him a really popular guy in Hollywood. But the rub comes when his nation, Brunei, acted in accordance with its Islamic roots and recently instituted laws that include death by stoning for homosexuals and adulterers.

Now, it’s understandable that that news would shake up a lot of folks in Hollywood. If someone stoned all the homosexuals and adulterers there, the place would probably be buried in rocks. Of course, the media is once again focusing on the disapproving celebrities and not on the real story — these shocking laws are just another example of what happens when Islam rules.

And, if Paul Weston’s story is any indication, it may not be long before Islam rules in Great Britain. It’s already secured more than a foothold in other European nations where the Islamic population is growing nine times faster than the non-Islamic population. And, as I shared with you a few weeks ago, Muslims are demanding that they be allowed to live their lives according to Sharia law, not the law of the host nation.

And some Europeans want to capitulate and allow them to do so. But, be warned, that won’t satisfy them. They will demand more and more until, finally, they will demand that the entire nation be governed by Sharia law.

In Nigeria, in an effort to appease radical Muslim groups, the government allowed the northern part of the nation to be subject to Sharia. But that’s not enough to satisfy some Nigerian Muslims. They want the entire nation to submit.

That desire gave birth to a group loosely called Boko Haram. That westernized name is best translated, “Non-Muslim education is forbidden.” However, the formal name of the group includes (in various translations) the words “jihad” or “Holy War.” So you get the idea.

In the last few years, Boko Haram has grown increasingly radical and aggressive. Last month, they raided a girls’ school and kidnapped 276 young women. They were whisked away into a forbidding jungle larger than the state of Indiana.

Boko Haram’s leader has announced that he plans to sell the girls as slaves or child brides, for as little as $12 each. In fact, he insists that he’s acting in accordance with the teachings and traditions of Islam, and on the direction of Allah. And it’s difficult for so-called “moderate” Muslim groups around the world to denounce him because they have to acknowledge that he is, indeed, Koranically-correct.

What makes this heinous crime even more despicable is that no serious observer believes Boko Haram is bluffing. In February, they raided a Christian boys’ school and slaughtered 50 boys. The Muslim jihadists shot some of them in their beds, slit others’ throats, hacked them to death, or locked them in their dorms and burned them alive. Simply because they were Christians and being educated as such.

Some analysts say that Boko Haram has killed more than 10,000 people.

Almost no media reported when the boys were killed. Hundreds of Christians have been slaughtered and their churches burned while the mainstream media and the American government yawned. In fact, the media and the administration ignored the kidnapping of the girls until a frantic social media campaign, mostly on Twitter, shamed them into action.

Why?

Why did former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton refuse to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, although now she feigns disgust at their actions? I think it’s because President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and a host of other world leaders, past and present, made a strategic choice to get along with Muslim terrorists by giving in to them. Appeasement became the mantra of the day.

Winston Churchill must be spinning in his grave.

I know beyond doubt that, if he were alive today (and based on his life’s example), he would remind us that if we don’t recognize the nature of the enemy and the struggle we’re in, we’ll lose before we even start to resist. As he warned his fellow Britons almost 75 years ago, we must understand WHO and WHAT we’re fighting if we have any hope of winning.

Even former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld recognizes this mistake. In an interview on CNN, he said: “The Bush administration didn’t do a good job…. you can’t win a battle of ideas unless you describe the enemy, say who it is, say what’s wrong with it, say what we do and why it”s right. We did that in the Cold War and we defeated Communism. We were tongue-tied over this and the Obama administration is much worse, they won’t even use the word.”

You probably know some “moderate” Muslims. That’s okay. I do, too. They are usually very sweet and courteous. In fact, in The River War, Churchill also wrote that some “individual Moslems may show splendid qualities.” But the fact is, “moderate Muslims” are not “good Muslims.” To the extent that Muslims are moderate, they are not following the literal Koran and the Hadith.

Once again, the media is telling the story in a way that actually protects the source of the problem, and that is Islam itself. Somehow in our politically-correct, multicultural society, we’ve come to confuse “All men are created equal” with the notion that “all ideas are equal.” They are not. Some ideas are just bad. And Islam is a bad idea.

A strong and shallow undersea earthquake hit parts of Indonesia’s Sumatra island on Sunday, causing panic but there were no immediate reports of casualties. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.2-magnitude quake hit at a depth of 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) beneath the sea. It was centered 319 kilometers (197 miles) southwest of Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province.

The U.N. findings echoed a statement published on Monday by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, whose experts had identified “a significant number of serious human rights violations” during a visit to Ukraine in March. Ukraine is preparing to hold presidential elections on May 25 and the U.N. monitors said a fair and democratic ballot would be an important factor in helping to calm the situation. But several candidates had reported intimidation and attacks and the monitoring mission said it had concerns about their security. “Those with influence on the armed groups responsible for much of the violence in eastern Ukraine (must) do their utmost to rein in these men who seem bent on tearing the country apart,” U.N. human rights chief Navi Pillay said in a statement accompanying the report. It kills about 30 percent of those who are infected. It is becoming increasingly clear that people can be infected with MERS without developing severe respiratory disease, said Dr David Swerdlow, who heads the MERS response team at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “You don’t have to be in the intensive care unit with pneumonia to have a case of MERS,” Swerdlow told Reuters. “We assume they are less infectious (to others), but we don’t know.” The CDC has a team in Saudi Arabia studying whether such mild cases are still capable of spreading the virus. More sick and dying animals are washing up on the coast of California, with new reports indicating record numbers of young sea lions, seals, and other marine mammals being admitted to care shelters for rehabilitation. The Orange County Register reports that the only facility in the county licensed to care for marine mammals is now at capacity, and that other facilities all along the coastline are being similarly inundated. The normally pudgy and active creatures are increasingly turning up emaciated and dehydrated, a mysterious phenomenon that the Sausalito-based Marine Mammal Center (MMC) has monitored across a 600-mile area of coastline that stretches from Mendocino to San Luis Obispo. After washing ashore, many of these sick marine mammals are too week to even get back in the water, let alone survive on their own. “We thought it was going to be a nice calm year; in the last month it’s just spiked,” stated Melissa Sciacca, the director of development at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) in Laguna Beach.

We entered the Church through baptism: there we are Christians,” Francis said during Mass on Thursday, Vatican Radio reported. “A Christian without a church is something purely idealistic, it is not real,” the Roman Catholic Church leader argued. He said that one cannot “understand a Christian alone” any more than “Jesus Christ alone” can be understood. “Jesus Christ did not fall from the sky like a superhero who comes to save us. No. Jesus Christ has a history. And we can say, and it is true, that God has a history because He wanted to walk with us. And you cannot understand Jesus Christ without His history. So a Christian without history, without a Christian nation, a Christian without the Church is incomprehensible. It is a thing of the laboratory, an artificial thing, a thing that cannot give life,” Francis said.

Jesus Christ alone cannot be understood?  I don’t know about you, but that seems to contradict Christ’s statement in John 14:16-17: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 

Meanwhile, let’s delve into the Catholic teaching of the phrase “the Church” and what that means:

Pope Pius XI writes that “no religion can be true save that which rests upon the revelation of God, a revelation begun from the very first, continued under the Old Law and brought to completion under Jesus Christ himself under the New” and that only “one sole Church was founded by Christ.” He exhorts Protestants to “draw nigh to the Apostolic See, set up in the city that Peter and Paul, princes of the apostles, consecrated by their blood.”

Pope Pius XII asserts in Mystici Corporis Christi that they “walk in the path of dangerous error who believe that they can accept Christ as the head of the Church while not adhering loyally to his vicar on earth.

The father-of-one said the April 15 capture by Boko Haram of more than 200 girls from a boarding school brought back painful memories of the night he was shot and beaten in his home. “When I heard about those girls I started to pray,” Adamu told NBC News on Tuesday. “Boko Haram have no mercy. All they want to do is drive the Christian community out of northern Nigeria and they won’t stop until they do it.” The businessman initially thought they were soldiers on patrol near his home one night in November 2012. “But when I saw their robes and AK-47 rifles I knew they were not from the army,” he said. “They told me they were there to do the work of Allah.” With his wife Vivian and son David, now aged seven, looking on, four men forced their way indoors and asked whether he was a member of the police force or army. He told them he was not. “Then they asked me whether I would convert to Islam and when I refused they asked whether I was prepared to die as a Christian. My wife was crying but I could not deny Christ. I felt powerful, unafraid, I don’t know why.” Before he could refuse a second time, a bullet pierced his neck. “I fell on the ground,” Adamu said. “They thought I was dead because they stomped on me twice and shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ or ‘God is great.’”

The technology is already being rolled out in Poland, where 1,730 cash machines will this year be installed with readers, negating the need for a debit card and Pin. The technology is used by Japanese banks and also in Turkey, offering “groundbreaking levels of accuracy and speed of authentication”, Hitachi said, which in theory tightens security.

Brazilian troops were drafted in to reinforce security in a World Cup host city after a military police went on strike less than a month before the country holds the event. Seven murders were reported in seven hours, a spike in deaths, during industrial action by police in Recife, Pernambuco, which will host five games including US’ group match against Germany. The strike was the most serious of a series of walk-outs that took place this week as key services threatened to stop working during the World Cup in protest at the levels of public spending on the competition. On Friday, the army and National Guard remained in place on the streets of Recife even after 20,000 police officers returned to work after demonstrating over pay. “We will work in cooperation with the reinforcements, together with the Brazilian Army and the National Guard,” said Colonel Carlos Pereira, a military police commander.

Headline: 10 Dead, 70 Hurt In Twin Kenya Bombings

Kenyan officials say at least 10 people died and 70 others were wounded Friday in two explosions targeting a minibus and a busy market in the capital city, Nairobi.  The attacks came days after the U.S. and British governments issued travel advisories regarding potential terrorist attacks in the country. Investigators said improvised explosive devises were used to target the attacks. The minibus was spattered with blood, its windows and tires blown out. A second bomb exploded nearby, also near a market best known for second-hand clothing.
“I saw the explosion. People were running in all directions,” Reuters quoted a female witness as saying. “I know some of the people who died.” Nairobi Police Chief Benson Kibui said police, acting on tips from the public, had detained a bombing suspect. Security officials said the suspect is a Kenyan national. In a statement Friday, the U.S. embassy in Nairobi warned its citizens to increase their personal security in light of Kenya’s continuing terror threats and violent crime.   “Terrorist acts can include suicide operations, bombings – to include car bombings – kidnappings, attacks on civil aviation, and attacks on maritime vessels in or near Kenyan ports,” the statement read in part.

Headline: Thousands flee in new Central African Republic fighting

Over 23,000 people were displaced by renewed fighting in the Central African Republic in the past month, the U.N. Refugee Agency reported Friday. Spokesman Adrian Edwards said children are recruited as soldiers, as well as cooks, porters and guards, and as many as 6,000 have been forced into rebel groups in the country. Humanitarian organizations secured the release of over 1,000 children from military groups in 2013. Of the displaced people, Edwards said they are mainly “Christians, mainly women and children. Many of the men are hiding due to fear of attacks by armed groups.” “Every single child we spoke to said they wanted to leave the armed group and return to school. We cannot fail them,” said Souleymane Diabete, UNICEF Representative in the Central African Republic. The fighting has followed a 2012 rebel-led coup of the country, with numerous human rights abuses reported, and a need for humanitarian aid for 2.2 million people.

Headline: Bomb blast injures 16 in north Pakistan

At least 16 people have been injured in an explosion outside a restaurant in the northern Pakistani city of Rawalpindi, security sources say. The powerful blast late Thursday had been the result of a bomb planted on a motorcycle, police official Abdul Waheed said Friday. Bomb disposal experts were called in to determine whether the device was timed or detonated by remote-control, Waheed said. A second police official confirmed the blast, adding that the condition of one of the injured was critical. No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.

Headline: Two Palestinians killed at Nakba Day protest in West Bank

Two Palestinians were shot dead by Border Police at a Nakba protest outside the Ofer Military Prison near Ramallah, Palestinians reported Thursday. At least eleven others were injured, including a minor with serious wounds. They were transferred to hospital in Ramallah for treatment. Hospital officials said Muhammad Abu Thahr, 22, and Nadim Nuwara, 17, were both shot in the chest outside Israel’s Ofer Prison near the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. According to Palestinian sources, they were shot with live ammunition. The Israeli military said that rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas, not live ammunition, were used at the site of the incident. The Israel Defense Forces has launched an investigation. Thousands of Palestinians marked Nakba Day on Thursday with rallies throughout the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem and Hebron. There were clashes reported with Israeli forces in Ramallah and Hebron. Four Palestinians were detained on suspicion of throwing stones at a 200-strong protest in Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City. Nakba is the Palestinian term for the “catastrophe” they suffered upon Israel’s establishment on May 14, 1948

Hagel’s visit — his third to Saudi Arabia in the past year — was designed to calm Gulf states that feel vulnerable to Iran’s influence and are frustrated with U.S. policy on Syria. Hagel attended a meeting in Jeddah of defense ministers from Gulf states allied with the U.S., including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Later on Wednesday, Hagel made a stop in Jordan to meet with military officials there before continuing on to Israel.

On Wednesday Kerry – who is in the British capital for talks on Syria – stressed to Abbas that the fate of the talks lies in the hands of the Israelis and Palestinians. Kerry “reiterated the need for any Palestinian government to recognize Israel, commit to non-violence, and abide by previous agreements,” a US official said in a statement. He also “urged both sides to refrain from unhelpful steps”.

While Mekdad denied any chlorine attacks, he acknowledged that the government is not fighting lightly against opposition forces.

Several people have been killed in two separate explosions in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in the latest wave of violence in the country. A car bomb went off in Baghdad’s Shia-dominated neighborhood of Karradah on Thursday, killing at least five people, including two policemen. At least 12 people were also wounded in the blast that took place near a commercial area and some government offices. Another car bomb blast also rocked the area later in the day. There have been no reports yet on the exact number of casualties. The blasts came only two days after 40 people were killed in similar attacks and acts of violence in Baghdad’s Shia-majority areas. This is while the country continues to count votes from its April 30 parliamentary election.

Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag, 27, is married to a Christian and eight months pregnant, human rights activists say. “We gave you three days to recant but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged,” Judge Abbas Mohammed Al-Khalifa told the woman, addressing her by her father’s Muslim name, Adraf Al-Hadi Mohammed Abdullah. Khalifa also sentenced Ishag to 100 lashes for “adultery”. Under Sudan’s interpretation of sharia, a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim man and any such relationship is regarded as adulterous.

Christian Arab residents of the village of El-Khader in the Bethlehem area were savagely attacked by local Muslims as they celebrated a Christian holiday last week. A report by CAMERA, an organization which monitors anti-Israel bias in the media, reported that Christians attempting to enter Saint George’s Monastery in the village were intimidated and attacked with rocks and stones. Author Lela Gilbert, author of Saturday People, Sunday People: Israel through the Eyes of a Christian Sojourner, filed a report with CAMERA over the incident. “Some local Muslims either tried to park a car too close the church and/or tried to enter the church during a service honoring St. George – the initial instigation isn’t clear,” she wrote. “But when the intruders were asked to leave, one of them stabbed a Christian man who was outside the church serving as a guard. He was hospitalized. Several then started throwing stones at the church. 7 or 8 Christians were injured and some physical damage was done – broken windows etc. The police didn’t show up for an hour.”

An out-of-control brush fire at Camp Pendleton was creeping closer to the San Onofre nuclear power plant, prompting evacuations. Southern California Edison said in a tweet that “about a dozen non-essential employees evacuated” from the plant because of the fire. The plant is located off Interstate 5 at the Orange-San Diego county line north of Camp Pendleton. Edison announced last year it was closing the plant due to structural problems with facility. The Camp Pendleton fire was spotted shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday and forced evacuations of the De Luz housing area, Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary School and the Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook, which is on the northeast edge of the sprawling base. A second school and housing area have been evacuated as the brush fire at Camp Pendleton continues to spread. The fire, dubbed the Tomahawk fire, on the northeast section of the base, had burned more than 150 acres as of 1 p.m., according to Cal Fire. More than 11,500 evacuation notices have been issued for the fire as it moves through neighborhoods amid steep brushy canyons.
