February 1, 2014 – Mass sea star deaths off US west coast puzzle scientists Starfish have been mysteriously dying by the millions in recent months along the US west coast, worrying biologists who say the sea creatures are key to the marine ecosystem. Scientists first started noticing the mass deaths in June 2013. Those who are not walking with Jesus will no doubt be unable to make the connection between the current events and end time prophecy.  The call for peace and safety, the Psalm 83 war, and yes God’s curse go hand in hand in these end times.  If you have been watching the news you can see very clearly that the United States has fallen under God’s curse for trying to divide up Israel.  The US is guilty of burdening themselves over Jerusalem in that they are working to make East Jerusalem the Capital of a new PLO State.  Not only is Kerry trying to divide up Israel he is as you will see from the next report giving warning to Israel concerning the stalled peace talks.  Either way you look at the present situation it is not good for the United States, at least in God’s eyes.  What is the Lord going to do to the good old USA?  Watch for more natural disasters, or maybe even the collapse of the good old dollar.  Whatever God is going to do it won’t be good for the US.  If President Obama had any spiritual sense he would bring John Kerry home and begin to act as if Israel were really your friend.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hit back at Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday, over the top American diplomat’s warning of further sanctions against Israel should the current peace talks with the Palestinians fail. Our water levels have dropped and, now government officials are moving in the direction of water restrictions.  What is happening in Santa Barbara is happening in most of California.  Keep in mind, what happens in California is going to affect the rest of the US.  How?  California is the bigger food producer and if the crops suffer I can promise you that your wallets are going to feel that suffering as well as food prices skyrocket.  The news report below has a video you can watch.

In recent footage from a Syrian Jihadist training camp in Aleppo, Mohammed Hussein, founder of Bin Laden Front,told a camera crew from VICE News that the militants’s goal was to topple the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, then its “aim is to liberate greater Syria.” Hassan Abu Ali, a 15-year old fighter profiled in the report, told VICE, “Once Syria is liberated, our next mission is to liberate Palestine and Golan and continue our conquests. Thanks be to Allah.” Hussein, the group’s leader, described the Bin Laden Front, one of many Jihadist armies fighting the regime outside of Aleppo and in the Syrian countryside, as a direct outgrowth of his training under 9-11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan, in 2001.

A rocket fired from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip Thursday night hit an open area in southern Israel without causing any damage or injuries, the army and police said. The “rocket… hit southern Israel in an open area south of [the town] Netivot,” a statement said. A police spokeswoman told AFP there was no damage or injuries. Recently, tensions have risen in and around Gaza after a year of relative calm, with six Palestinians and an Israeli killed since December 20 and militant rocket fire sparking retaliatory air strikes.

Headline: 15 Palestinians shot in West Bank protest’

Palestinian medics and security sources reported Friday that Israeli soldiers shot and wounded 10 Palestinians near the West Bank town of Ramallah during a protest over the killing of a teenager. One of the injured was reportedly shot in the neck and was in serious condition, according to Israel Radio. The IDF said that approximately 300 Palestinians had gathered in the area, with many throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at soldiers. The army said it used crowd dispersal methods to break up the rally. Palestinians sources said that protesters were hit by live rounds on the outskirts of Jalazun refugee camp, with the injured later hospitalized in Ramallah.

Headline:  Scarlett Johansson steps down as Oxfam ambassador

Oxfam International said Thursday that American actress Scarlett Johansson’s support of an Israeli company operating in a West Bank settlement was incompatible with her role as an Oxfam Global Ambassador. Oxfam’s statement followed Johansson’s announcement Wednesday that she was resigning her Oxfam role because of a “fundamental difference of opinion.” Oxfam said it accepted her resignation. The international humanitarian organization said Thursday that it believes SodaStream and other businesses operating in Israeli settlements in the West Bank contribute to the “denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support.”  The charity said it opposes all trade from the Israeli settlements, “which are illegal under international law.”

Headline:  Dayan: American Framework for Peace ‘Unacceptable’

Dani Dayan, Chief Foreign Envoy of the Yesha Council, has categorically dismissed the details of the report by US envoy Martin Indyk presenting the American framework for an interim agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA). “The American framework apparently leaves Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria under Israeli sovereignty using the ‘balloon on a string’ method,” Dayan lamented Friday. “A road will lead to communities already built, but everything surrounding it will say ‘Palestine.'” Dayan condemned the framework as “inapplicable and absolutely unacceptable.” Envoy Martin Indyk revealed Thursday select details of the plan, which would see Israel retain 75-80% of its Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. The agreement will include a reference to the PA’s incitement against Israel and will also include a reference to compensation for Jewish refugees who came from Arab countries, the leaders told Channel 10. The Arabs would recognize Israel as a Jewish state, Israel would recognize the Palestinian state, and the two sides will announce the end of the conflict, they said.

Headline:  Senior Palestinian official: If reports about contents of Kerry’s framework deal are true, there’s no deal

A senior Palestinian official said Thursday that if there is truth to New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman’s published description of the impending U.S. framework agreement for peace with Israel, the Palestinian leadership cannot accept it as the basis for a final pact.  According to Friedman’s column on Wednesday, the proposal that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will soon present to both sides includes support for the establishment of the Palestinian capital in the Arab parts of East Jerusalem, but does not include the return of Palestinian refugees to Israel.  “We don’t know what the meaning of a capital in Jerusalem is and how the Americans see Jerusalem and whether this conforms to the Palestinian position.” said the official, who insisted on anonymity. The official added: “The American demand to recognize Israel as a Jewish state alongside a vague formulation of the right of return cannot be a basis for any outline that could lead to an agreement.”  The Palestinian Authority had no official response to Friedman’s column. It is believed that the PA’s silence is intentional, assuming that his report was based on leaks and details that are still uncertain. Moreover, the Palestinian negotiating team is now in Washington meeting with Kerry and his team.

Officials from the United States, United Nations, Russia and the European Union will meet on Saturday to discuss how they can help U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s drive for a Middle East peace deal, the EU said on Friday.  The officials from the Quartet of Middle East peace mediators will meet in Munich on the sidelines of the annual security conference there. EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said she would chair the meeting with Kerry, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Tony Blair, the Quartet’s special envoy to the Middle East. “This meeting takes place in a moment when difficult and bold decisions need to be made,” Ashton said in a statement ahead of the meeting. “The dividends of peace for Israelis and Palestinians are enormous.” Ashton said she hopes that “together we can help those decisions to become a reality to continue working towards a negotiated peace agreement, setting an end to the conflict and fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of both parties.”

US President Barack Obama and Jordan’s King Abdullah II are set to meet next month to exchange views on the crisis in Syria as well as the Israeli-Palestinian talks. The White House said in a statement on Thursday that the two leaders will meet in California on February 14 and they will “continue consultations” on the latest developments in the Middle East. In March 2013, the US president paid an official visit to the Jordanian capital, Amman, where he held talks with King Abdullah II over major regional issues, including the turmoil in Syria. Headline:  Alarmed, Hezbollah takes defensive measures in Beirut

Hezbollah has taken defensive measures in its southern Beirut stronghold, anticipating a new wave of so-called tafriki attacks, Lebanese newspaper Al Nahar reported Wednesday. Tafriki refers to a Muslim who accuses another Muslim as an apostate. Hezbollah is Shi’ite, while the al-Qaeda linked Al Nusra Front is Sunni. According to the report, the exercise, performed after discovering a plan to carry out an assault, involved “locking stores in the area, evacuating the streets within ten minutes, and preventing any gatherings.” Al Nahar also reported that Hezbollah is attempting to allow only ten entrances into Dahieh “in order to properly monitor the flow of vehicles and pedestrians.” In addition, Hezbollah parliamentarians removed the blue license plates from their vehicles that identify their official status. The Sunni-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and Al-Nusra both posted messages on their websites over the past week declaring war on Lebanon and declaring an expansion of the Islamic state into the multi-sectarian state, Al Akhbar in English reported on Saturday.

Headline:  Rocket fire, shelling from Syria kill one in n. Lebanon

Rocket and artillery fire from Syria into northern Lebanon killed a Syrian man and wounded four Lebanese, including an Army soldier, security sources said. They said at least 50 rockets and artillery shells launched from across the border struck the outskirts of Mashta Hammoud and several surrounding villages in the Wadi Khaled region of Akkar, in further spillover from Syria’s war. The sources identified the fatality as 39-year-old Hisham Khaled al-Hamad, a Syrian national. The wounded were identified as Lebanese citizens Mahmoud Ahmad Ramadan, Jamileh Ahmad Assaf and Mohammad Mansour. Lebanese Army Sgt. Zakaria al-Ali was also wounded in the artillery and rocket barrage that began at 6 a.m. The shelling came as heavy battles raged between Syrian regime forces and rebels in the Khirbit al-Rammal town in Al-Zara region on the Syrian side of the border, the sources said. It was the latest in a series of salvoes to hit Lebanese towns bordering Syria.

Rather, Israel’s Air Force chief, Major General Amir Eshel called out Hezbollah for establishing thousands of terrorist bases within residential buildings and warned that the Israeli army would not be deterred from retaliating for attacks launched from within these quarters. The article quotes Maj.-Gen. Eshel: “We will have to deal aggressively with thousands of Hezbollah bases which threaten the State of Israel and mainly our interior,” Eshel said in a speech, citing Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon among the locations of the bases.

Compare the two headlines above:

 CAMERA contacted Reuters to change the erroneous headline to one that reflects the content of the story, but thus far, the misleading headline still remains. Can it be that Reuters editors prefer to defame Israel with false innuendo or is this merely a sloppy oversight? UPDATE: CAMERA heard back from a Reuters editor who refuses to change the headline and suggests it is not “misleading” because the warning to Hezbollah does not “exclude” a threat against civilians, so no, this is not merely a sloppy oversight.

Headline:  Saudis snub US congressional delegation

Saudi Arabian diplomats and military officials refused to meet with a bipartisan delegation of senior congressional staffers who visited the Middle Eastern country last week, an unusual snub that suggests increased tension between the U.S. and a key ally. “Everyone on the trip definitely took it as a snub,” one of the staffers who went on the trip, speaking on a condition of anonymity, told the Washington Examiner. The delegation was comprised of “high level” staff from three House committees: Intelligence, Homeland Security, and Armed Services. The staffer said that the delegation asked to meet with representatives of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry and Defense Ministry during the week-long trip, but the Saudis denied both requests. The rejection is especially unusual because the Saudis paid for the delegation’s visit, but did not allow them to talk to their most natural counterparts in the Saudi Arabian government. The aide, who has visited the country multiple times on such delegations, said every previous trip featured a meeting with at least one of the two ministries.

Headline:  8 Sinai militants killed in Egypt military offensive

Egyptian military officials say that troops backed by helicopters and armored vehicles have killed eight militants in the northern Sinai Peninsula, part of a continued offensive against rising militancy in the volatile region. The officials say that the dead included a senior member of an Al-Qaeda-inspired militant group, Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, which has claimed responsibility for a wave of bombings and suicide attacks since the ouster of Islamist President Muhammad Mursi. The Wednesday air raids and assaults in the Sheikh Zuweid border town come less than a week after militants in the area shot down a military helicopter with a shoulder-fired missile, killing all its crew and alarming authorities about the use of sophisticated weaponry.

THE US accused the Syrian government of using stalling tactics to delay efforts to remove and destroy chemical agents, an indication that the international community’s patience is wearing thin over the slow pace of the operation. The comments, delivered by the American representative to the international chemical weapons watchdog, marked some of the strongest public criticism of Syria’s commitment to relinquish its chemical stockpile. Syria agreed to surrender its arsenal after a deadly chemical attack in August on a rebel-held suburb of Damascus raised the threat of punitive US missile strikes. President Barack Obama has touted the agreement as a victory and a major policy achievement for his administration on Syria’s intractable civil war. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is leading the mission to eliminate Syria’s 1300-metric tonne stockpile by a June 30 deadline. Under the OPCW’s tight timeline, the most toxic chemicals in Syria’s arsenal were to have been removed from the country by December 31, but that deadline was missed due to poor security amid Syria’s raging civil war as well as other factors. So far, just two small consignments of chemicals have been shipped out. “The effort to remove chemical agent and key precursor chemicals from Syria has seriously languished and stalled,” Robert Mikulak told the OPCW’s 41-nation executive council in a closed-door meeting. His remarks were later posted on the US State Department’s website.

Syrian government shelling killed at least 16 people in a rebel-held area of the northern city of Aleppo, activists said, and at least one man was killed Friday inside Lebanon in cross-border fire from Syria, according to a security official. The attacks came as Syrian negotiators were wrapping up a week of peace talks in Geneva, the first round of what is expected to be prolonged negotiations stretching several weeks or even months trying to find a solution to the devastating civil war.

State-run television said the group’s “demonic” protest was funded by “some Americans.” Russia’s newfound embrace of traditional values has prompted a rise in Orthodox vigilantism. Extreme groups such as the Union of Orthodox Banner Bearers, an ultraconservative faction who adopted a slogan “Orthodoxy or Death,” are gaining prominence.

Headline:  Three rockets strike Baghdad airport, no casualties

Six suicide bombers burst into an Iraqi ministry building, took hostages and killed at least 24 people including themselves on Thursday before security forces regained control, security officials said. The brazen attack on the building belonging to the Ministry of Transportation in northeast Baghdad coincided with a month-long standoff between the Iraqi army and anti-government fighters in the western province of Anbar. No group claimed responsibility but suicide bombings in Iraq are the trademark of al-Qaeda linked groups. State buildings are a target for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and its allies that have been regaining momentum in a campaign to destabilize the Shi’ite Muslim-led government. A senior security source said the six militants took a number of hostages, most of them members of the Facilities Protection Service, and killed nine of them inside the building, which was used to receive visiting delegations. Four bombers detonated their explosives vests during the assault, a fifth was shot dead by security forces and the last died shortly after being shot, according to security officials.

Headline:  Erdogan in Iran to hatch joint plans for striking US interests

The Turkish armed forces opened fire on the convoy of an al-Qaeda-linked jihadist group’s vehicles in Syria in retaliation for cross-border fire on Tuesday, destroying three vehicles, Turkish media said on Wednesday. “A pick-up, a truck and a bus in an ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) convoy were destroyed,” Agence France-Presse quoted published by Turkish media. There were no casualties on the Turkish side. The army said the attack, carried out Tuesday, came after two Turkish military vehicles had been fired upon at the Cobanbey border post in the south of the country. The Turkish military targeted ISIS positions in northern Syria after a mortar shell fired from Syria landed in Turkish territory during clashes between ISIS and the rebel Free Syrian Army, Reuters reported broadcaster NTV as saying.  The incident is considered to be the first pitting Turkey against ISIS which has been fighting forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad as well as fellow rebel groups in the north of the country since January. Meanwhile, Turkey’s Tayyip Erdogan has snapped his links with Washington and rushed into Iran’s arms for direct action against US interests. He is spiting the Obama administration in the belief of a US plot to replace him with President Abdullah Gul and discredit him by corruption scandals implicating members of his family in sanctions-busting business with Iran through the state-owned Turkish Halkbank.

Headline:  German unemployment rate rises in January

Germany’s unemployment rate has hit 7.3 percent in the first month of 2014 with more than 3 million people being jobless at a time of continued economic hardship. According to an official report by Germany’s Federal Labor Office, the unemployment rate of Europe’s biggest economy rose from 6.7 percent in December last year to 7.3 percent in January. The report blamed the spike in the number of the jobless on seasonal factors, with about a quarter million more people out of work compared with December. It also put the overall number of the jobless at 3.14 million people.

Headline:  US stocks slide early on earnings, overseas woes

The U.S. stock market is opening sharply lower as investors fret over disappointing earnings and more trouble in overseas markets. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 226 points, or 1.4 percent, to 15,625 moments after the market opened Friday. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index lost 22 points, or 1.2 percent, to 1,772. The Nasdaq dropped 43 points, or 1.1 percent, to 4,079. Disappointing results and outlooks from retailers left investors uneasy. Amazon fell 8 percent after it reported earnings that fell short of expectations. Wal-Mart cut its outlook. Currencies for several countries fell against the dollar as turmoil in emerging markets flared up once again. It’s been a tough January for investors. North Korea’s increasingly shrill opposition to the annual joint drills named Foal Eagle looks very similar to the kind of vitriol that preceded the start of the same exercises last year and led to a steep rise in tensions on the Korean Peninsula. It appears the first stages of this year’s battle have already begun – though some experts say they don’t think it will be as high-pitched as last year’s. Psaki said she could not refute the details of the Times report, and there was an ongoing interagency review to determine whether the Russians had violated the terms of a US-Russian arms control pact. The 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), signed by then US president Ronald Reagan and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Gorbachev, eliminated nuclear and conventional intermediate range ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles. “The important note here is that there’s still an ongoing review, an interagency review determining if there was a violation,” Psaki stressed, adding the consultations had been continuing for some months. “We do of course take questions about compliance with arms control treaties, including the INF Treaty, very seriously.” A NATO official said “this is a serious matter” adding that the treaty was “a key component of Euro-Atlantic security.” “Compliance with arms control treaties is a fundamental requirement if we are to have more transparency in our dialogue with Russia. Headline: Six new human H7N9 cases in China

Six new human H7N9 cases have been reported in China on Friday, including one death, as more live poultry markets were shut down. One new case, a 75-year-old woman from Nanjing, the capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province, is in a critical condition. This brings the number of infections in the province to eight this year. Another five new cases are all from the southern province of Guangdong, including a 67-year-old woman, who was found dead on Wednesday. Another H7N9 patient in Guangdong died on Thursday. H7N9 has so far killed 21 in China this year, and the total number of human infections has reached 102. With bird flu cases increasing on a daily basis, public concern over people-to-people transmission of the disease during Spring Festival is growing.

The Ukrainian President, who on Thursday went on sick leave, has given an amnesty to demonstrators and rolled back some of the punitive measures against protesters. But Merkel said this “positive step” was not enough. She criticised him for asking the opposition to leave the trade unions’ building in Kiev, despite paying rent there. Thai anti-government demonstrators have once again taken to the streets of the capital city of Bangkok ahead of Sunday’s controversial general elections. The opposition protesters, who have vowed to keep up protests against the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, staged mass rallies in Bangkok on Friday in an effort to disrupt the planned vote. The move is seen as part of the opposition’s campaign to overthrow Yingluck’s administration. They want an unelected “people’s council” to oversee political reforms in the country to contain corruption and alleged vote-buying. The opposition Democrat Party has boycotted the planned vote while anti-government protesters have occupied major intersections and flyovers for weeks.

It would appear the fears of a global bank run are spreading. From HSBC’s limiting large cash withdrawals (for your own good) to Lloyds ATMs going down, Bloomberg reports that ‘My Bank’ – one of Russia’s top 200 lenders by assets – has introduced a complete ban on cash withdrawals until next week. HONG KONG: A cull of 20,000 chickens was under way in Hong Kong on Tuesday after the deadly H7N9 bird flu virus was found in poultry imported from mainland China, days before Lunar New Year. Quake hits Yogyakarta
An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Yogyakarta on Monday night but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage. In a statement reported by the Alray Palestinian Media Agency , Ariel claimed that: “The first Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, the second Temple in 70 CE, and ever since the Jews have been mourning its loss.” He added that: “Al-Aqsa Mosque is currently in place of the temple, despite the temple being much holier than it. Headline:  Israel attacked Syrian base in Latakia, Lebanese media reports

The Israel Air Force bombed a Syrian base in the Latakia airport in the north of the country on Sunday, Lebanese media reported Monday morning.  There are currently no other confirmations of this report.  Israeli security sources refused to confirm or deny the claims and there are serious doubts as to whether Israel in fact carried out the attack. In such cases in the past, information leaked was corroborated by the American government. They have not commented on this incident.  Two weeks ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that Israel is operating to thwart the transfer of weapons, even if such reports are not made public. He was relating specifically to the threat posed by Hezbollah to Israeli naval ships by precise missiles. According to various reports in foreign media, Israel attacked weapons depots in the Latakia area in the past, though Israel has not confirmed such reports. Last November, U.S. sources reported that Israel was behind an attack on Russian SA-8 surface-to-air missiles near Latakia.

Headline:  Secret Iranian team in Beirut to counter suicide attacks and upgrade Hizballah intelligence

Iran has embarked on an urgent project for rebuilding Hizballah’s intelligence and security mechanisms from scratch, to repair the ravages inflicted by the spate of suicide attacks on its strongholds in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon, since the Shiite militia joined the Syrian war.

A top team of senior officials from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Al Qods Brigades intelligence and Ministry of Intelligence and Security, landed secretly in Beirut last week. They arrived under cover of a delegation, headed by Deputy Justice Minister Abdol-Ali Mirkoohi, which came to collect information from the interrogation of Majid al Majid, the Saudi Arabian leader of the Abdallah Azzam Brigades terrorist group, who died in a Lebanese prison on Jan. 4. That group claimed some of the attacks on Hizballah targets. On its arrival, the secret Al Qods-led team separated from the delegation and got down to what is clearly a long-term project for reconstructing its Lebanese surrogate’s intelligence and security bodies.

A branch of al-Qaida has declared open warfare on Hezbollah inside Lebanon, prompting the Party of the Resistance, as it refers to itself, to tighten security in its strongholds, especially in south Beirut and throughout the Bekaa Valley. The Sunni Wahhabi Jabhat al-Nusra Front, which is fighting on the side of the opposition in Syria and against the Iranian-backed Shiite Hezbollah, which has lined up with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, declared that areas of Lebanon where Hezbollah operates are “legitimate targets” for attack. In addition, an al-Nusra statement warned Sunnis in Lebanon to avoid those areas. “We, Al-Nusra Front in Lebanon, announce that Iran’s party, Hezbollah, and all its bases and bastions are legitimate targets for us, wherever they are,” the group posted in an Internet statement. The threat to Lebanon signals an expansion by al-Nusra of its efforts to create a regional Islamist caliphate under strict Shariah law to include not only Syria and Iraq where al-Qaida forces recently have stepped up attacks in Anbar province around Fallujah and Ramadi, but also Lebanon.

Headline:  Egypt clashes kill 49 on third anniversary of revolution

At least 49 people have been killed in clashes in Egypt as the country marks the anniversary of the 2011 uprising which overthrew President Hosni Mubarak, the health ministry says. Rival demonstrations of supporters and opponents of the military-backed government took place in Cairo. But police broke up anti-government protests, and arrests were reported in Cairo and Alexandria. Hundreds have died since July when the army deposed President Mohammed Morsi. Egyptian Interior Minister Muhammad Ibrahim had urged Egyptians not to be afraid to go to events marking the anniversary of the uprising. Thousands of supporters of the military and the government gathered in high-profile locations including Tahrir Square – the focal point of the 18-day 2011 popular revolt. Participants waved Egyptian flags and banners showing army chief Gen Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, whom many urged to run for president. Meanwhile on Saturday, an army helicopter crashed in the restive Sinai peninsula, with an unconfirmed report that its crew of five soldiers was dead. A large car bomb exploded near a police building in Suez, at the southern entrance of the Suez canal, with reports that nine people were injured. At least 18 people died in violence on Friday.

Egypt’s military council has given the army chief, Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a green light to run for president, a security source told Reuters. “The top army officials all okayed Sisi running for the presidency,” said the source. Sisi is expected to announce his candidacy within days. Sisi deposed Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in July, triggering political upheaval and street violence in the Arab world’s most populous nation. Since then he has become hugely popular among Egyptians, who see him as a decisive figure who can stabilize the country which has lurched from one crisis to another since a popular uprising toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

He said there was no decision yet on allowing an aid convoy into besieged areas of the city of Homs (see 2^nd link). “We are happy and encouraged that this conference has taken place – it is one little step forward but whatever gain we have made is reversible. “We will continue trying to make this work and we hope that both parties will co-operate,” Mr Brahimi told a news conference in Geneva. The peace talks resumed in Geneva on Monday morning. The Syrian government team presented a “declaration of principles” that did not mention transfer of power; it was rejected by the opposition. The declaration reportedly demanded that Syrians choose a political system without “imposed formulas” from outside – an apparent reference to attempts to remove Mr Assad – while also insisting on discussing “terrorism” rather than transfer of power.

At the current time Israel is still calling for Peace and safety and they have bars, gates, and walls to protect them from the PLO.  The  told Ezekiel this war will take place when Israel is living in peace and feeling safe.  As long as the enemies of Israel listed in the Psalm 83 war are working to wipe out Israel, Israel will never feel safe enough to remove any of the bars, gates, or walls which shows us the Psalm war has to take place first.  Another major difference between the Psalm war and Ezekiel war is the nations who attack Israel are different. In the Psalm 83 war you see the nations that border Israel attacking her.  The nations listed to attack Israel in the Ezekiel war do not show any of the nations which are listed in the Psalm war.  Why?  The answer is simple. Israel will already have destroyed the nations who attacked them in the Psalm 83 war and they will make no other to attempt to wipe them out.  When the nations listed in the Ezekiel war see what Israel did to their Brothers listed in the Psalm war they in turn will pick up the torch and try to do what the Psalm 83 nations couldn’t do, wipe Israel off the map.  How will this Ezekiel 38-39 war end. God tells us that 5/6 of the entire army that attacks Israel will be killed.  At the end of the day Israel will have won the Psalm 83 war and the Ezekiel war.  In the Psalm 83 war the IDF will have defeated their enemies.  In the Ezekiel it will be God who steps in to wipe out all the armies who try to wipe out Israel.  The current events you are now witnessing in the Middle East is setting up the scene for both the Psalm war and Ezekiel war.

A spokesperson for the kidnappers demanded in a direct call with Al Arabiya News Channel for the release of Hadiya, also known as Sheikh Abou Obaida. Turkey ramped up action in its increasingly desperate defence of the lira on Monday with the central bank calling a crisis meeting, prompting analysts to forecast a policy U turn and big rate rise. Headline: Dramatic rise in flu deaths reported by California health officials

State health officials reported Friday that California influenza deaths this flu season have doubled to 95, with an additional 51 cases likely to be confirmed next week. That would put this year’s number of flu fatalities so far at 146. At this time last year, nine deaths had been confirmed, and only 106 were confirmed by the end of the season.  “So far we have a much more severe season,” said state epidemiologist Dr. Gil Chavez in a conference call with reporters Friday. He said that flu activity in California remained “widespread.”  In part, the gap between this year’s deaths and the number of deaths at this time last year is because this year’s season struck early, Chavez said. However, this year’s predominant flu strain is H1N1 “swine flu,” which is more deadly than other strains. Seventy-five of this year’s 95 confirmed deaths were caused by H1N1, Chavez said.

Headline: Cases of 'valley fever' on rise

The scientific term for the disease is coccidioidomycosis, most commonly known as valley fever. Whatever its name, the fungus-caused illness—which can be fatal—is being called a silent epidemic. “This is a high priority for the medical community,” said Dr. Tom Chiller, a fungal expert with the Centers for Disease Control, told CNBC by phone.  “More people are getting exposed to it, and it’s an increasing problem we want to stop,” added Chiller.  The fungus that causes valley fever lives in soil in the U.S. desert Southwest and parts of Mexico, Central America and South America. Inhaling the fungus’ airborne spores can cause flu-like symptoms that can turn into pneumonia, meningitis or even worse.  Though valley fever is not contagious, cases have been on the rise. Less than 5,000 cases were reported in 1995. That number had risen to more than 20,000 by 2011. And the CDC estimates that some 150,000 cases go undiagnosed annually.

Live poultry trading was halted in Hangzhou, Ningbo and Jinhua cities in eastern Zhejiang Province, which has reported 49 human H7N9 infections, including 12 deaths this year. The province has launched emergency surveillance of poultry farms, haunts of migrant birds and parks, in addition to halting the flying of domestic pigeons. Shanghai, which neighbors Zhejiang, will halt live poultry trading from Jan. 31 to April 30 this year and strengthen surveillance of poultry and industry staff. The city has reported eight human H7N9 infections in January, four of whom died, including one doctor. The city’s health authority will make use of media to publicize prevention information about H7N9. Guangdong Province in south China reported 26 new H7N9 cases and four deaths so far in January. Hong Kong’s health authority on Monday evening confirmed an H7N9 case at a local agricultural market and will cull about 20,000 birds in the market on Tuesday morning.

His meetings with President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev marked his breakaway from the US-led peace process with Israel, four months before it was due to expire, and signaled his bid for Russian backing for a Palestinian state. The Palestinian leader’s defection caught both Secretary of State John Kerry and Prime Minister Binyamin unprepared – and surprised their intelligence agencies. Ten deputies filed a petition on Thursday calling on Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh to designate a session for general discussion over the ongoing Middle East peace talks and results of US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Jordan. The MPs, led by Deputy Mustafa Yaghi (Balqa, 4th District), want to bring the ongoing debate on the US-mediated peace talks to Parliament.“We are a substantial part of this debate,” Yaghi said, indicating that Parliament is the first place where such issues should be addressed. He said the request was made based on internal debates in the Lower House among several MPs. The signatories to the memo want to hear the government’s point of view on the ramifications of Kerry’s visit and what it means to the Palestinian issue, Jordan and the region. They also want to know more about Jordan’s role in the ongoing negotiations. Kerry met with His Majesty King Abdullah and senior Jordanian officials this month. He was here to provide his vision over a potential solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. However, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour recently stressed that nothing was clear yet, and that he expects Kerry to come back to the region in the next few days with what he described as a “detailed proposal” to be submitted to all parties. The US diplomat, who has been leading substantial efforts to push peace negotiations forward, did not submit a clear plan but explored means to bring the two parties closer in terms of their stances on final status issues. On Tuesday, the premier advised against “jumping to conclusions” at this stage. A Lebanese network was given rare and unprecedented access to an Israeli Air Force base as part of a larger attempt to send Hezbollah a message.  A reporter from Lebanon’s LBC interviewed Ramat David Air Force Base commander, as well as Captain Avihai Aderi, head of Arab media at the IDF Spokesperson Unit. At the beginning of the report, the Lebanese network focused on attempted to reach an agreement regarding Syria: “While world power are at the Geneva II conference to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, head of the Ramat David Air Force Base sends a threatening message, warning against the continued transfer of strategic arms from Syria to Hezbollah, threatening that his army will work to prevent arms’ transfer.” The air force unit commander – who like all IAF pilots and commanders must remain unnamed and masked – said in the rare interview that “We are closely following attempts to smuggle arms from Syria to Lebanon and attempting to prevent it from reaching Hezbollah.” He further noted that “Hezbollah has begun receiving the type of weapons that are superior to those of independent and neighboring countries and we must prepare for such a scenario.”

Three bombing attacks in downtown Cairo Friday killed at least eight people and injured more than 60. The first was carried out by a suicide car bomber who tried to storm the Egyptian Security Directorate Headquarters. Guards who opened fire to keep him out detonated the bomb which killed four people and wrecked several floors of the building. Soon after, explosive devices struck the entrance to the central railway station, injuring eight people, followed by an attack on a police station, which left four dead.  This wave of terror was claimed by the Al Qaeda Sinai coalition, Ansar Beit Magdis.

Israel will already have destroyed the nations who attacked them in the Psalm 83 war and they will make no other to attempt to wipe them out.  When the nations listed in the Ezekiel war see what Israel did to their Brothers listed in the Psalm war they in turn will pick up the torch and try to do what the Psalm 83 nations couldn’t do, wipe Israel off the map.  How will this Ezekiel 38-39 war end. God tells us that 5/6 of the entire army that attacks Israel will be killed.  At the end of the day Israel will have won the Psalm 83 war and the Ezekiel war.  In the Psalm 83 war the IDF will have defeated their enemies.  In the Ezekiel it will be God who steps in to wipe out all the armies who try to wipe out Israel.  The current events you are now witnessing in the Middle East is setting up the scene for both the Psalm war and Ezekiel war.

North Korea took its demand for the United States and South Korea to halt joint military drills to the United Nations, holding a rare news conference on Friday to warn that the exercises could get “out of control and plunge into unimaginable disaster.” North Korea’s U.N. Ambassador Sin Son Ho said that the international community should no longer allow the United States and South Korea to carry out the military drills on the Korean peninsula, which are scheduled for February and March. “If the ‘coordination’ and ‘cooperation’ with the U.S. are so precious and valuable, they had better hold the exercises in the secluded area or in the U.S. far away from the territorial land, sea and air of the Korean peninsula,” Sin said. Ten human H7N9 bird flu cases were newly reported in China on Friday, including one in Beijing, one in Guangdong Province, one in Fujian Province and seven in Zhejiang Province, forcing cities in Zhejiang to close their live poultry markets. In the first case reported in the city this year, a man in Beijing was confirmed to have contracted H7N9 on Thursday night, according to the Chinese capital’s disease control and prevention center. He is receiving treatment at Ditan Hospital. The center said the patient had bought pigeons and ate them before being admitted to the hospital. The health and family planning committee of south China’s Guangdong Province likewise reported on Friday that a 34-year-old woman in Shenzhen City had contracted the virus. She is also in a critical condition. The health authorities in Guangdong’s neighboring province of Fujian also announced that a 46-year-old female villager in Hui’an county was Friday confirmed to have been sicken by the H7N9 virus, bringing the total infections in the province to eight. The patient is under treatment at a local hospital and is in a critical condition. In east China’s Zhejiang Province, seven human H7N9 cases were reported on Friday, bringing the total number of such cases to 44 in the province. Headline:   Holder: Feds to set rules for banks and pot money

The Obama administration will soon announce regulations to make it easier for banks to do business with legal marijuana sellers, Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday. “You don’t want just huge amounts of cash in these places. They want to be able to use the banking system,” Holder said during an appearance at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center. “There’s a public safety component to this. Huge amounts of cash—substantial amounts of cash just kind of lying around with no place for it to be appropriately deposited is something that would worry me, just from a law enforcement perspective.” The federal banking accommodation, being worked out jointly by the Justice and the Treasury departments, comes in the wake of decisions by voters in Colorado and Washington state to legalize the sale and possession of pot. The moves have created legal tensions, since marijuana remains illegal under federal law. One particular problem has been the refusal of banks to deal with pot-related businesses out of fears they will be accused of violating money laundering laws. “We’re in the process now of working with our colleagues at the Treasury Department to come up with regulations that will deal with this issue,” Holder said. He added that the new rules were likely to emerge “very soon” and were not intended to amount to a blessing of marijuana by the federal government. “It is an attempt to deal with a reality that exists in these states,” he said.

At least 16 people have been killed in ethnic clashes in the Central African Republic (CAR) while a new interim president was sworn into office with a plea for different militia groups to put down their arms and halt the persisting violence. The Thursday development came as nearly a million people, or a quarter of the nation’s population, have also been displaced by the escalating violence with Christian militias targeting the country’s Muslim population.  Hundreds of looters rampaged through Muslim areas of Bangui on Thursday, burning homes and carrying off furniture and metal roofs. The head of the country’s Red Cross Antoine Mbao Bogo, said the northern PK12 neighborhood was the epicenter of the anti-Muslim violence. “There are scenes of xenophobia where people are stabbing others because they belong to another ethnic group. There were 16 killed in an atrocious manner,” Bogo added, as quoted in a Reuters report. French forces, meanwhile, targeted a group of Muslim demonstrators who were protesting against lack of security after Christian militia killed a person at a camp for displaced Muslims waiting to leave the city, according to witnesses.

White House spokesman Jay Carney told a briefing Thursday that the tensions in the country were a direct result of the government failing to acknowledge the “legitimate” concerns of the Ukrainian people, after tens of thousands have demonstrated in the square over the government’s new anti-protest measures since Sunday night. Protestors claim the move is a direct violation of their rights to freedom of expression.  Washington has threatened economic consequences if talks between the two fail, according to the daily, and has called on the government to revoke the laws.
