In what seems to belie Iran's oft-repeated assertion that its nuclear program is designed for peaceful purposes, the wife of a nuclear scientist who was assassinated last month in Tehran said that the goal of her husband's life's work was the “annihilation of Israel,” the scientist’s wife told the Iranian Fars News Agency (FNA) on Tuesday.

Based on comments made to the FNA by Fatemeh Bolouri Kashani, the report said her husband, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan “sought the annihilation of the Zionist regime wholeheartedly.” He also, “loved any resistance figure in his life who was willing to fight the Zionist regime and supported the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation,” Fars said

 “VIENNA (AP) — A top U.N. nuclear official says his team could "could not find a way forward" in attempts to persuade Iran to talk about suspected secret work on atomic arms. Herman Nackaerts of the International Atomic Energy Agency says the talks in Tehran were inconclusive, although his mission approached the talks "in a constructive spirit." Nackaerts spoke to reporters at Vienna airport Wednesday shortly after returning from the Iranian capital. An IAEA statement published overnight already acknowledged the talks had failed. Iran denies it has experimented with nuclear arms programs but has refused to cooperate with an IAEA probe on the issue for nearly four years.”

More signs that a global economic crisis is on the way!

The commission previous forecast in November said the economic output in the 17 nations sharing the euro would grow by 0.5 percent this year.

"The unexpected stalling of the recovery in late 2011 is set to extend into the first two quarters of 2012," the Commission said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, economy of the wider, 27-nation European Union, which generates a fifth of global output, would be unchanged in 2012 with 0 percent growth, according to the Commission forecast.

The eurozone economy is heading into its second recession in just three years. The bloc last recession was in 2009, when its economy contracted 4.3 percent during the deepest global economic crisis since the 1930s.

The currency bloc is facing daunting challenges as a result of a poisonous mix of high public debt, disappearing investor and business confidence and rising unemployment in number of its members.

The debt crisis has forced EU governments to adopt harsh austerity measures and tough economic reforms. The new forecasts will add to concerns about the impact of austerity plans.

The 2012 forecasts for Italy, Spain and Greece were all slashed-each of them countries that are applying significant fiscal consolidation.

Europe plunged into financial crisis in early 2010.

Insolvency now threatens heavily debt-ridden countries such as Greece, Portugal, Italy, Ireland and Spain.

KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT (Worthy News)– A Kuwaiti parliamentarian will soon draft legislation banning the construction of churches and other non-Islamic places of worship in the tiny emirate.Kuwaiti Member of Parliament Osama Al-Munawer first announced on Twitter that he planned to submit a law calling for the removal of all churches in the country, but later explained that existing churches will remain as only the construction of new non-Islamic places of worship should be banned. Fellow MP Mohammad Hayef supported the proposed law. “Kuwait already has an excessive number of churches compared to the country’s Christian minority,” he said in the Kuwait Times.

Prophecy Sign: Road to Ezekiel 38 war of which Russia will lead an end time invasion against Israel.

Russia warned Israel on Wednesday that attacking Iran would be a disastrous and played down the failure of a U.N. nuclear agency mission to Tehran, saying there is still a chance for new talks over the Iranian atomic program.

"Of course any possible military scenario against Iran will be catastrophic for the region and for the whole system of international relations," Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told a news conference.

It was one of Russia's starkest warnings against resorting to force, an option Israel and the United States have not ruled out if they conclude that diplomacy and increasing sanctions will not stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb.

"I hope Israel understands all these consequences … and they should also consider the consequences of such action for themselves," Gatilov said. "I hope a realistic approach will prevail, along with a sensible assessment."

Russia, China as well as many allies of the United States are concerned that any military action against Iran could engulf the Middle East in wider war, which would send oil prices rocketing at a time of global economic troubles.

Friends,

I invite you all to read this brief summary of end-time Bible prophecy.  I feel very strongly that we are on the verge of a sequence of events, unprecedented in human history.  If I am correct, in the near future, events will cause many people to question some foundational beliefs about the world.  I will give you a thumbnail sketch of the events so that when they come to pass you will recognize them.

The rapture – (1Th 4:13-18,1 Cor 15:51-54) The Bible teaches that at some point in history, prior to God judging a world in rebellion against Him, all believers in Jesus will be removed from the Earth.  Yes, you read that correctly… gone… vanished… disappeared.  It is likely that this event will happen on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.  This year?  It is possible but I will NOT make that prediction.  I know… I am sure it almost sounds comical… Christians disappear on a Jewish holiday.  Based on the events that the Bible predicts will follow this unbelievable event, I am convinced we are very close to seeing the rapture happen. In response to the question, by His disciples, "Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign [will there be] when these things are about to take place?" (Luke 21:7)  Jesus listed many signs that would proceed His coming (Luke 21:8-28) and in conclusion He said, "Now when these things BEGIN to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

Middle East War – (Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38) – The exact sequence of events is not clear but I believe that in close proximity to the rapture you will see two attacks on the nation of Israel.  The first, predicted in Psalm 83, involves a coordinated simultaneous attack by Israel’s near neighbors (Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon).  Israel will be victorious and it is possible that the city of Damascus will be destroyed in retaliation (Isaiah 17).  In light of current events, it is reasonable to think that the first attack could be the direct result of the “Arab Spring” or a likely response to the decades long intransigence in the Middle East peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.  While the West hopes for a western style democracy to replace the dictatorships on Israel’s borders, it is much more likely that some form of Islamic government, hostile to Israel, will emerge.  We are seeing this take place now in Egypt and it’s likely to spread.  The “Arab Spring” is leading to an “Islamic Winter”.  The second attack will probably occur after the ever-elusive Middle East peace agreement is signed, as another coalition of nations is drawn to attack Israel.  In the Old Testament book of Ezekiel (about 550 BC), it is predicted that Russia, Iran, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Libya (the geographical boundaries of the Old Testament nations are in most cases broader than their modern counterparts) will be drawn against Israel and be supernaturally defeated by God as He comes to Israel’s defense.  The Ezekiel 38 attack could be the result of a preemptive strike by Israel against Iranian nuclear capabilities.  Russia has already declared that they would consider an attack on Tehran the same as an attack on Moscow.  Does anyone seriously question whether Israel will allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon after its repeated threats of annihilation?  Having said all this, it is a bit difficult and presumptuous to link current events to Biblical prophecy.  I know these attacks on Israel will happen but I can’t be certain of the timing or the events that will precipitate the attacks.

Peace Agreement – The Bible predicts that some form of peace agreement lasting seven years will be signed involving Israel (Daniel 9:27).  This may come out of the UN or through a negotiated peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.  At this point, it looks like it may come through the UN as the PA is pushing for recognition of a Palestinian state with 1967 borders.  The division of Israel is a Biblically significant event (Joel 3:2) and when it happens get ready for all hell to break loose on this planet.  Concerning this, Paul wrote, “For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” (1 Thessalonians 5:2) 

Tribulation Period – These unprecedented events will set the scene for the final seven years of human government on Earth (corresponding to the seven year peace agreement).  The period is predicted in Daniel chapter 9 and elaborated on in numerous other Bible books including the book of Revelation Chapters 4-19.  Israel will be center stage for this period of time.  The start of the period will be marked by the signing (or confirming) of the peace treaty and the seven years will culminate in the battle of Armageddon which will be interrupted by the second coming of Christ to reign on Earth for 1000 years.  The world ruler who confirms (strengthens) the peace treaty is known as the Anti-Christ.  Ultimately, he will head a “world dominating” 10 Nation coalition government.  It will be the first “world dominating” government since the days of Rome and in some way it will be related to Rome, probably rising out of, or, including the EU.  This government will set up a single monetary system (most likely cashless) with which they will be able to force compliance with their policies.  This will likely be required after a coming global financial collapse.  Half way through the seven-year period the people of the world will be forced to worship the Anti-Christ or die.  Many will worship him and many will be put to death for their refusal to worship him.  Everyone will be given a choice to worship the Anti-Christ or Jesus Christ.  The last half of the seven years will be marked by a series of catastrophic judgments on the Earth.  Jesus said, “Unless the time was shortened, no flesh would survive”.  In fact, the Book of Revelation predicts that about half of the Earth’s population will die.  More than 3 billion people… Think about that.

You may be questioning why I believe predictions made thousands of years ago will come to pass.  I will explain.  Many Biblical prophecies have already been fulfilled.  By studying these predictions and their subsequent fulfillment we can see the 100% accuracy with which Bible prophecies are fulfilled.  I will use messianic prophesies as an example.  The Old Testament makes more than 300 predictions about a coming messiah.  These predictions can be analyzed statistically to determine the accuracy of the Biblical prophecy and the identity of the messiah.  For example, if I said the messiah would be a man, then roughly half of the population could fit this prediction.  The probability that any individual would randomly meet this prediction is about 1 in 2.  If I added that he would be born in Bethlehem then the probabilities that someone would randomly fulfill the predictions are significantly reduced.  With every additional prediction or prophecy the probabilities are decreased.  For example, if only eight prophecies are made then the odds of any one person meeting the predictions by random chance are exceedingly low.  It would be statistically equivalent to covering the state of Texas two feet deep with half dollars, painting one red, and having a blindfolded man select the red half dollar with one attempt.  If those are the odds with only eight predictions then can you imagine the probabilities of one individual fulfilling more than 300 prophecies by chance?  Statistically speaking, it is so unlikely that you could say there is no chance.  The study of fulfilled Biblical prophecy has led me to two conclusions.  First, Jesus is the predicted messiah.  And second, the events that are predicted by the Bible will be fulfilled with 100% accuracy.

After this somewhat grim prediction about the future, I will take this opportunity to tell you the good news.  None of us have to go through this terrible time.  The way out is the Gospel, meaning “good news”.  Let me explain.  God has set the standard for human behavior.  If you want to go to heaven you must be sinless for your entire life.  Sin is simply breaking God’s rules.  He then condemns us ALL with the statement that “ALL have sinned”.  Not surprising.  Additionally, He pronounced a death penalty for sin.  We are all in the same predicament.  Hitler, you and I are all sinners and deserving of death in God’s eyes.  People commonly believe as long as their “good” outweighs their “bad” then God will let them into heaven.  God doesn’t use scales to determine if we get into heaven.  God will not allow sin in His presence.  This is where God’s perfect love for people and His perfect justice collide.  He loves each of us and wants to spend eternity with each of us but His holiness cannot coexist with sin.  The solution… The cross.  It is the story of how God’s love triumphed over God’s justice without compromising either.  God sent His Son – Jesus, who lived a sinless life, and took our death penalty on Himself.  Our sin was placed on Him 2000 years ago on the cross.  He died the death we deserve.  You can think of it as a deal God makes with each of us.  Jesus takes our sin and we are given His sinless perfection in God’s sight.  This is how God extends His salvation to us all.  In order to receive this “gift” we must repent and believe.  The word repentance comes from a Greek military term that means “about face”.  It simply means to turn around.  The Bible teaches we all follow our own path in life, which takes us away from God.  Repentance means we turn back to God and follow His path for our lives.  In turning to God, we must turn away from sin.  If we repent and believe that Jesus was who He claimed to be (The Son of God) who died in our place for the forgiveness of sins and was resurrected from the dead then we will be saved and spend eternity with God.  It is a simple prayer between you and God where you accept His “gift”.  The Bible teaches that when we say that prayer God’s Holy Spirit will enter us to lead and teach us.  I mentioned God’s love for each of us.  Anytime the Bible seeks to demonstrate the love of God, it points to the cross.  In essence, God is saying to each of us I love you enough to allow My only Son to take your death sentence.  Let that sink in.  Would any human parent ever consider the same offer?  In His love, mercy and grace, God will forgive anything we have done as long as we come on His terms.  His terms require us to come through His Son – Jesus. 

If this is all true then what should we do?  That depends on your relationship to Jesus.  If you have trusted in Christ for salvation then you should make sure that you are walking closely to Him and looking for His soon return.  Jesus said, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”  If you have not trusted in Jesus, then it is my sincere hope that you would make that choice now and avoid the time of trouble that is coming.  On the other hand, if you choose not to accept God’s offer at this point then please remember this one thing – while you are alive God’s offer stands… You can always turn to Him… Even in the tribulation period.

Timothy Moore and I have been blessed to spread the good news of Christ Jesus in Africa.  Timothy just sent me an up-date on our newest Church going up in Kaberwa.

Bro Frank,
Here are some photos of the work in progress at the plot for the new church in Kaberwa, Mt. Elgon in NW Kenya.  They have fenced the property and are now placing the frame posts for the pastors house which will be a three room stick, mud and stucco house with sheet metal roof.  We are moving forward!  Hope to begin work in the sanctuary within a week or two. We have also had a family donate the funds for a cow and chicken for the pastor there and his family which includes a baby boy born a couple of weeks ago.  The Lord is providing.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has turned his back on peace after the Fatah leader warned that peace negotiations cannot resume without an Israeli settlement freeze.

Abbas spoke Sunday before the foreign ministers of the Arab League in Cairo, and harshly condemned Netanyahu. He effectively posed an ultimatum before the prime minister, saying that if Netanyahu would not agree to freeze all construction in the settlements and agree to negotiate based on 1967 borders, the Palestinian Authority will renew its unilateral efforts to obtain statehood in the United Nations.

Abbas said he will be sending a letter to Netanyahu with his demands for resuming negotiations. In case of a negative response, Abbas said he will resume the campaign for recognition of a state of Palestine by the UN.

Abbas harshly condemned Netanyahu and said that he did not present any serious proposal during the talks in Jordan, and blamed Netanyahu for failing to make any significant trust building steps toward the Palestinians. Abbas claimed that Netanyahu did offer to impose another settlement freeze, but one that only includes a freeze on new state tenders and not a halt of private construction in the settlements.

Iran Offers Aid to Palestinian Authority to Defeat Israel

Iran tells Gaza’s Hamas leader Haniyeh it is offering “scientific and technological experience” to the PA for a “victory” over Israel.

 Iran has used the visit of Gaza’s Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to offer “scientific and technological experience” to the PA for a “victory” over Israel. Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told Haniyeh Saturday of “the need for Palestinian adherence to the basic principles of resistance as the key ingredient for their victory against Israel,” according to the official Iranian PRESS TV news agency. Haniyeh replied, “Muslims through full unity and with the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran will liberate Al Aqsa mosque [on the Temple Mount] in the future.” Haniyeh is in Iran for the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and is trying to shore up badly needed financial support as well as outflank PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, head of the largely secular and rival Fatah party. The two factions signed an agreement in Doha last week for a new unity government headed by Abbas and without PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Abbas is risking financial support from the European Union by joining Hamas without demanding that it reject terror and that it recognize Israel, although Abbas himself has not done so formally. Iran’s offer of “scientific” assistance to the Palestinian Authority underlines the shared and stated objective of Iran and Hamas to destroy Israel.

NEW DELHI –The wife of an Israeli diplomat in New Delhi and her driver were injured on Monday when the car they were traveling in was bombed, officials said. A second attempted bombing was defused outside the Israeli embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, at about the same time.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately blamed Iran, which has vowed revenge for the recent assassinations of several scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear program. Hezbollah, which receives funding and strong support from Iran, also had promised to avenge the assassination of one of its leaders, Imad Moughniyeh, who was killed in a car bombing in Damascus on Feb. 12, 2008.

Ticking off places where he said recent attacks on Jews and Israelis had been thwarted, including Azerbaijan and Thailand, Netanyahu accused Iran of orchestrating the attempts and called the government in Tehran “the greatest exporter of terror in the world.”

“In all these cases,” Netanyahu said, “the elements behind the attacks were Iran and its proxy, Hezbollah.”

Russia is concerned of the way Israel is openly laying out its war plans against Iran, as Russian foreign ministry officially dennounced Israel’s hawkish rhetoric on Iran.

TEHRAN / NationalTurk – The Russian foreign ministry rapped the Zionist regime for its war rhetoric against Iran, and cautioned that the approach will increase tensions and have dire consequences.

On Wednesday, Mikhail Ulyanov, the head of Security and Disarmament Department at Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, denounced Tel Aviv government’s hawkish rhetoric on Iran over its nuclear program and lashed out at Israel for inventing allegations that are raising the tension in the already tense Middle East. Russia warned such fabrications could encourage military solutions and could end up with catastrophic consequences.

The top Russian executive described the speculations over Iran’s nuclear program as out of whole cloth and reiterated that such claims have political and propaganda purposes, which are far from being inoffensive.

The US and its close ally Israel have recently intensified their war rhetoric against Iran. The two arch enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran accuse Tehran government of seeking to build nuclear arsenal, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations.

Both USA and Israel possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads. USA is UN and Nato member and though not on the paper US is the secret leader of these organisations.

Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran dovernment points out that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv in self-defense purposes. Iran is challenging Us and Israel’s war calls on every turn, attemting to show their defence industry is more than capable to thwart any kind of military operation launched against Iran.

 Iran's leaders urged the Hamas prime minister of Gaza to continue the Islamic militant group's resistance against Israel and promised support, state TV reported on Sunday. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Hamas' Ismail Haniyeh that Iran would always stand by the Palestinian "resistance" against Israel and warned him against "compromisers." President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his part said it was Iran's "duty" to stand by the Palestinians.

I quote, “The burnt out shells of at least 45 buildings in central Athens were still smoldering on Monday morning after a weekend of angry protests reached its apex on Sunday night in what Greek prime minister Luca Papademos called the worst breakdown of violence since 2008. Broken glass, chunks of marble ripped from the public squares and empty tear gas canisters lined the streets after an all-night battle pitted protesters against security forces who say they were outnumbered by a five-to-one ratio. Hundreds of protesters and police officers were injured and local Greek Sky television reported that at least twice, security forces ran out of tear gas.”
