The US and Israel will commence the largest-ever joint air defense drill of its kind in Israel on October 21, an army source said on Tuesday.
The exercise, named Austere Challenge 12, was originally scheduled for last spring but was postponed due to regional tensions with Iran.
On October 14, large numbers of American soldiers are expected to begin arriving in Israel, where they will set up aerial defense positions on Israeli territory and on US Navy vessels off the Israeli coastline.
The three-week drill will simulate various missile defense scenarios, and is expected to end with a live-fire interception of a decoy incoming Patriot missile.
One of the objectives of the drill is to facilitate the rapid deployment of US missile defense systems to Israel and test their ability to operate in conjunction with Israeli defense systems during a conflict.
The IDF Spokesman’s Office said Tuesday that “the US and Israel hold regular joint exercises between the militaries.
These exercises are planned ahead of time and form part of the routine training program, aimed at improving mutual operations.”
The AC12 drill forms “another milestone in the common strategic relations between the US and Israel,” the office added, stressing that the drill is “unrelated to any pinpoint developments in the region.”
At the end of August, the US said it would decrease the original number of American forces due to take part in AC12. An Israeli defense source said at the time that the exercise will still be the largest of its kind to date, adding, “Defense cooperation between Israel and the US has never been better.”

Severe flooding in central north Nigeria's Kogi State has displaced more about 600,000 people, a top government official said Monday.
The camps were mostly public primary and secondary schools and some health centers, Wuya said, adding that the flood affected 457 communities across nine local government areas.
Wuya said a committee had been set up to evolve measures of addressing all sectors affected by the floods.
According to him, education, agriculture, health and roads are some of the sectors already identified to have been badly affected.
He said government had in the interim decided to merge 87 public primary and secondary schools currently being used as resettlement camps with nearby government schools.
Wuya expressed regrets that communities ravaged by the flood were the food basket of the state, saying that the situation constituted a threat to food security and health of the people.
He said government was thinking of how it could assist farmers in the remaining 12 Local Government areas not affected by the flood to expand their farmlands, using mechanized farming techniques.
At least 18 of the country's 38 states have been affected by floods caused by torrential downpours in recent weeks and concern is growing about the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera.

Days after the Obama administration announced drastic cuts in the number of U.S. troops participating in military exercises with Israel, U.S. military planes landed in Egypt for joint exercises with Egypt's military forces.
Named "Eagle Arena 2012," the exercise marks the first military interaction between the U.S. and Egypt since Hosni Mubarak was president. It also means our military is officially in joint training exercises with military personnel from a country strongly influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood (Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is a prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood).
The exercise will include air and naval training in and over Egypt, Sinai, and the Red Sea. Aircraft and naval vessels from both countries will be used for these exercises. Not only have we left Israel to face Iran alone, we're actually teaching one of Iran's emerging allies how to fight

Prophecy Sign:Matthew 24: 37-39 concerning what the last generation would be like just prior to His second coming. In verses 37-39 Jesus shows us our generation would be just like that of Noah’s. This generation turned from God and followed their own lusts and became evil people. We know part of Noah’s generation troubles came on them when they turned to homosexuality. How do we know this? Notice that Jesus compared Noah’s day to Sodom and Gomorrah and then linked it to the time of his return. I quote our Lord. Luke 17: 25-30. “But first must He [Christ] suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30“Even thus shall it be in the Day when the Son of Man is revealed.”
Since I showed you Obama on the cover of Newweek because he is like a savior to the gay population it would be a good time to show you another example of Christ's warning that our generation would be just like Noah's and Lot's generation. One of the signs of their generation was the homosexual life style. Today's generation has becoming this open homosexual life style again. It is becoming a popular thing to do today to come out of the closet to proclaim either he or she is gay. When someone who is on TV and very popular comes out to proclaim their gay hood it seemingly sends out the signal to the world that this is a normal life sytle. The world may see it that way but the Lord is very clear that this type of sin is not part of His kingdom.

Am I pointing it out to get Christians to hate the gays? Not at all. Fact is, I would be the first one to say if you hate these people you are not following Christ because Christ doesn't want us to hate anyone. We should take offense to the sin but not hate the person. My heart hurts knowing what the final outcome will be for anyone who doesn't repent from the ways of Noah's and Lot's generation. News like you see today is just another sign how close we are to the second coming of Christ. If there was ever a time to pray for people the gays it is right now while the Church is still on this Earth. Let us also keep in mind that this is only one of many sins people are allowing in their lives these days. Is one sin worse than another? Keep in mind that sins can be forgiven but the only sin that will not be forgiven in what? Matthew 12:31 Therefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. What is this? It is rejection of Christ Jesus as Savior.

The government of India has amassed a database of 200 million Indian residents' digital fingerprints, iris scans, facial photographs, names, addresses and birthdates. Yet this vast collection of private information is only a drop in the bucket compared to the volume of data it ultimately intends to gather. The Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI), the agency that administers Aadhaar — India's Unique Identity (UID) program — has a goal of capturing and storing this personal and biometric information for each and every one of India's 1.2 billion residents. Everyone who enrolls is issued a 12-digit unique ID number and an ID card linked to the data.
Once it’s complete, the Aadhaar system will require so much data storage capacity that it is projected to be 10 times the size of Facebook. Israel must not trust President Barack Obama to thwart Iran’s nuclear weapons drive, a Republican US Congressman said on a visit to Israel Wednesday, savaging Obama’s handling of the Iranian crisis in a stark departure from the American political tradition of not attacking the governing administration while on trips abroad.
Speaking in Jerusalem at a meeting of Christian Zionists, Trent Franks, a Republican from Arizona’s 2nd district, said that if Israel does not stop Iran, Obama will not prevent the Islamic Republic from gaining nuclear weapons but would merely try to contain the threat. Obama has said repeatedly that he will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
Franks predicted that Israel will “not trust other countries” in its bid to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, and encouraged Jerusalem to preemptively attack the regime’s nuclear facilities if it felt the need to do so.
“I hope I say this the right way, but I’m convinced that Israel will not trust other countries to do what they have to do to protect their own security,” Franks said at a press conference. “The prime minister [Benjamin Netanyahu] has said, ‘Israel’s security must always remain in Israel’s hand’ and I’m completely for that. I understand very clearly that Israel will not be made to walk into the gas chambers silently again.”
“If Iran gains a nuclear weapon, we will need a new calendar in the world — it would change humanity that much,” Franks said. “Iran will give these weapons to terrorists the world over, and your children and mine will step into the shadow of nuclear terrorism.”
A month before US elections and on the day of the crucial first presidential debate, the congressman harshly attacked Obama — a highly unusual step for a visiting American politician. According to the tradition that “politics stop at the water’s edge,” US politicians generally refrain from partisan attacks while on foreign soil.
