Arabs hurled stones at Israeli security forces and shouted nationalist slogans on the Temple Mount on Sunday, hours before Jews began to visit the site to mark the fast day of Tisha B’Av. The burst of violence, which according to Israel’s s Channel 12 began at around 5 a.m., was quickly dispersed by Border Police. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held an assessment of the situation on Sunday together with top security officials, following which he instructed that Jewish visits to the Temple Mount be allowed to continue. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) subsequently issued a ‘clarification’ on Monday, stating that the “status quo” remains in place, according to which Jews only have the right to visit their holiest site but not to pray there. While the prime minister gave no reason for backing down on his statement Sunday, some pundits suggest it was in reaction to the vehement objections to the visits raised by its Islamist coalition partner, Ra’am, as well as by Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority. Meanwhile, Jordan’s King Abdullah is set to become the first leader of an Arab nation to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden since the president’s inauguration in January. The meeting comes after weeks of rapprochement between Israel and Jordan – but also on the heels of an official Jordanian complaint over Jewish prayers on the Temple Mount on Sunday. July 19, 2021
A U.S. drone attack targeted a truck for an Iran-backed militia in eastern Syria on Sunday, destroying the vehicle without causing any casualties, two Iraqi militia officials said. The Iraqi militia officials refused to say what the truck was carrying. They said the U.S. drone first fired a warning shot, after which the driver jumped out, and a missile hit the vehicle shortly afterward. They said the truck belonged to Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, which is active along the Iraq-Syria border. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military. Syrian state TV reported the attack saying it was carried out by American drones. It said the truck was carrying food and there were no human losses. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, said the truck was carrying weapons and ammunition for an Iraqi militia and was hit shortly after crossing the border from Iraq. CDC health officials are now working vigorously to trace contacts of anyone directly exposed to a Dallas resident who recently returned to the US on a trip to Nigeria. The man is now in isolation at a Dallas hospital after testing positive for an extremely rare disease known as Monkeypox – said to be the first ever case of its kind in Texas. It’s also the first case seen inside the United States in two decades, with the last significant outbreak in 2003 including 47 reported human cases. The infected person flew into Atlanta international airport on July 8, and then on to Dallas Love Field the next day. Dallas health officials have declared there’s “no cause for alarm” given monkeypox has a lower fatality rate than smallpox. The two diseases are similar in that they can cause a severe rash which lasts for about a month. But the rash causing large swollen bumps all over the body appear particularly nasty and painful-looking in the case of Monkeypox. However monkeypox may not be as easily spreadable given it’s carried by rodents or other animals and human-to-human transmission is through bodily fluids and respiratory droplets. July 18, 2021
At least 120 people have died and around 1,300 people are still missing across western Europe in the wake of extreme rainfall, bursting rivers, and heavy flooding that devastated parts of Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The bulk of the casualties were in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, where authorities say some mobile networks are still out of service, making it impossible to contact people on the ground. Some 114,000 people remained without power Friday. Most of the 1,300 people unaccounted for are in the northern part of Rhineland-Palatinate. “In some areas, we have not seen this much rainfall in 100 years,” Andreas Friedrich, a German weather service spokesman, told CNN. He also said that “in some areas we’ve seen more than double the amount of rainfall which has caused flooding and unfortunately some building structures to collapse.” Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said this “could be the most catastrophic flooding our country has ever seen” and has declared July 20 a national day of mourning even as the toll of the disaster is still becoming clear. A magnitude earthquake struck the Iranian southern city of Bushehr on Sunday, 250 kilometers from the Iraqi border, the Iraqi General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring announced. The authority said the tremor recorded 5.6 on the Richter scale, and was felt by residents in Basra, Iraqi News Agency reported. The quake struck at a depth of 11 kilometers, with the epicenter near the town of Khesht, at around 7 PM (1430 GMT). Several weaker aftershocks followed, according to Iran’s seismological center. The United States Geological Survey put the initial tremor at 5.4-magnitude. There were no reports of casualties or damage, about two hours after the quake. Rescue and survey teams were sent to the area and hospitals put on alert, Fars province’s head of crisis management Rahim Azadi told state television. July 18, 2021

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid addressed his 26 European counterparts during a speech to the EU Foreign Affairs Council, the first Israeli cabinet member to do so since Tzipi Livni in 2008. In his remarks, Lapid said it is “no secret” that he supports a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, but he noted that the conditions are not currently in place for a peace agreement. “A future Palestinian state must be a democracy that seeks peace with Israel,” he said. Lapid said he supported all humanitarian activities in favor of the Palestinians and any efforts made to improve their economic situation. He also declared that Israel is seeking to open a new chapter in its relations with the EU, emphasizing the liberal values shared by Israel and European states. July 12, 2021
In a surprising discovery, the person who arranged the phone call between President Isaac Herzog and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday was Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Israel Hayom learned Tuesday from sources privy to the matter. Abbas met with Erdogan last week during a three-day diplomatic visit to Ankara. And while speaking to the media, the PA leader claimed that “Israeli aggression in Jerusalem continues,” it seems that behind the scenes, he was trying to revive the relationship between Israel and Turkey that were once close regional partners. While it is not clear what motivated Abbas, it was most likely an attempt to keep Erdogan from working with Hamas. July 13, 2021
The Taliban are reported to have raised their flag above a key border post between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and claim it is now under their control. Videos being shared on social media show the white flag fluttering above the Spin Boldak crossing near Kandahar.Afghan officials have denied the post has fallen, although pictures on social media show the militants chatting to Pakistani border guards. The BBC has been told the Taliban took the border crossing with no resistance. In recent weeks, the militants have made rapid advances across the country, seizing a series of border posts from Afghan forces, including crossings with Iran, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It comes as the US withdraws its forces from Afghanistan ahead of an 11 September deadline set by President Joe Biden. The border post dividing the Afghan town of Spin Boldak in Kandahar province on one side and the Pakistani town of Chaman on the other, is the second busiest crossing between the countries. It links the city of Kandahar to Pakistan’s ports, and sees some 900 trucks pass through each day. The crossing would be a major prize. July 14, 2021
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Wednesday vowed to repel attacks by Ethiopia’s “enemies” after rebels in Tigray launched a fresh offensive to regain territory in the war-torn region. Tigrayan forces this week claimed a series of battlefield gains in a renewed assault that comes two weeks after the federal government declared a unilateral ceasefire in the face of rebel advances. The latest rebel push followed the stunning recapture of the regional capital Mekele last month from federal forces, a turning point in a brutal eight-month conflict that has killed thousands of people and left many hundreds of thousands facing famine. Abiy said he remained committed to peace — even if it came at a “cost” — but these latest attacks would not go unanswered. A spokesman for the Tigray Defence Forces (TDF) told AFP on Tuesday they had seized Alamata, the main town in southern Tigray, and pushed into the western part of the region where fertile farmlands have long been contested. The death toll in South Africa has risen to 72 as violence continues across the country following the jailing of former President Jacob Zuma. Crowds looting and setting alight shopping centres clashed with police in several cities on Tuesday. A day earlier, 10 people were killed in a stampede during looting at a shopping centre in Soweto. The military have been deployed to help police overstretched since the unrest began last week. South African police said in a statement they had identified 12 people suspected of provoking the riots, and that a total of 1,234 people had been arrested. President Cyril Ramaphosa has called it some of the worst violence witnessed in South Africa since the 1990s, before the end of apartheid. The catalyst was the arrest last week of Zuma, with his supporters blockading major roads – the economic arteries of the nation – as they demanded the release of their political hero. Low income levels and unemployment – standing at a record high of 32.6% among the workforce and even higher at 46.3% among young people – are seen as the ticking bombs that have exploded. Many South Africans have been shaken by the riots that have swept through Zuma’s political heartland of KwaZulu-Natal and the economic hub of Gauteng. And many feel that his successor as president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has failed to provide decisive leadership – either to calm anger over Zuma’s imprisonment or to reassure South Africans that they will be safe. Hundreds of Cuban American protesters blocked a major expressway in Miami on Tuesday demanding President Biden do more to support the people of Cuba. “We need Biden’s support,” one man with a Cuban flag draped over his back told Fox News. “We haven’t gotten support from the president. So, we are trying to fight, to finish with the communism.” Heavy rains did not stop many who police turned away when they reached the highway. The crowd chanted “SOS Cuba” as a line of cars forced to a standstill honked their horns. Anti-government protests broke out in Cuba on Sunday as the communist island nation faces an economic crisis. At least 100 demonstrators, including activists and journalists, have been detained, Reuters reported. “Biden, you should listen to the people here, the elected officials that are Cubans and know what is best for the people in Cuba,” a woman with a sweatshirt covering her head from the rain told Fox News in Miami. “So just hear us out and try to come together to see what we can do.” Biden praised Cuban protesters Monday. “We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime,” Biden said in a statement. Biden’s statement followed allegations from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel that the U.S. is funding the demonstrators. July 14, 2021
The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 (SOFI 2021) report warns food insecurity and malnutrition have hit 15-year highs and are likely to worsen. Well before the COVID-19 pandemic, the world was on track to minimize hunger and malnutrition by 2030. But the virus pandemic disrupted economic flows around the globe, unleashing supply chain hell, compounded by disruptive weather, along with overstimulation by central banks and governments, helping to induce inflation, which has put the world at a critical juncture. A staggering 811 million people went hungry in 2020, or about 10% of the entire world population. The decade ending in 2014 saw the number of undernourished people fall to 607 million and base through 2019 around 650 million. But as soon as the pandemic hit, food insecurity soared by more than 150 million people to 811 million. None of this should come as a surprise to readers as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) global food price index recently hit a new high. The non-governmental organization warned surging food prices may induce a “potential crisis” in lower-income countries: “Rising food imports as a share of all imports can be an early warning indicator for potential crises in some areas.” As a reminder, ahead of the rapid rise in food prices, SocGen’s market skeptic Albert Edwards in December shared his thoughts about why he started to panic about soaring food prices. And since then, food supply chains remain broken, trillions in fiscal stimulus spent, and exploding commodity costs, we can only imagine the situation is getting worse by the month. July 13, 2021
The Food and Drug Administration on Monday added a warning to the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine, saying the shot can lead to an increased risk of a rare neurological condition. The Food and Drug Administration announced the new warning, flagging reports of Guillain-Barre syndrome, an immune system disorder that can causes muscle weakness and occasionally paralysis. Health officials described the side effect as a “small possible risk” for those getting the shot. The action comes after the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reviewed reports of about 100 people developing the syndrome after receiving the one-dose vaccine. Almost all of were hospitalized and one person died, the FDA said. Guillain-Barre syndrome occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks some of its nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis that typically is temporary. An estimated 3,000 to 6,000 people develop the syndrome each year, according to the CDC. July 13, 2021
More than 14 000 firefighters and support personnel are battling 67 large wildfires raging across the United States. An undermined number of homes have been lost and thousands more are threatened. 67 large fires have so far burned more than 371 000 ha (917 000 acres) of land in the United States, The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) reports. Of those, 13 are burning in Idaho, 13 in Arizona, 12 in Montana, 8 in California, 6 in Alaska, 6 in Oregon, 3 in Washington, 2 in Wyoming, and one each in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Minnesota. New large fires were reported in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon on July 13. Type 1 and Type 2 Incident Management Teams are assigned to 24 large fires or complexes, with more than 14 200 wildland firefighters and support personnel are assigned to incidents, NIFC said. “As record temperatures continue across many states, it’s important to remember that we all play a valuable role in wildfire prevention. The national average of human-caused wildfires comprises 87% of all wildfire occurrences every year. Most of these fires can be prevented. Please Recreate Responsibly while enjoying your public lands.” The U.S. has seen a total of 33 953 wildfires from January 1 to July 13, 2021, with a total area burned 834 078 ha (2 061 054 acres). The 10-year average (2010 – 2020) to date is 29 837 wildfires and 1 190 067 ha (2 940 721 aces). July 14, 2021
Earth-observing satellites are picking up two dense clouds of Saharan dust — one moving NE over the Mediterranean Sea into Europe and the other W over the Atlantic Ocean. The European cloud has already reached southern Spain, Corsica, and most of Italy and is spreading further NE toward central Europe, Slovenia, Croatia, and the rest of the Balkan Peninsula and Greece on July 13. On July 14 and 15 parts of it will spread further into NE Europe and Scandinavia. The second cloud is spreading west into the Atlantic Ocean, heavily affecting all islands west of Morocco and Western Sahara. Waves of dust picked up over the past couple of days have already reached the Caribbean and spread through the region. This new wave should reach it by July 18 or 19. July 13, 2021

Israel’s security establishment has begun to seize cryptocurrency wallets belonging to the Hamas terror organization, according to Israeli media reports. The move comes after Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an administrative order authorizing the seizures on June 30. Hamas is currently attempting to raise funds via virtual currencies, such as Bitcoin, in an effort to bypass the conventional banking system, Israel’s Channel 12 reported. Israeli security bodies, including the Shin Bet and the National Bureau for Counter-Terror Financing, have mobilized to try to shut off the flow of illicit funds, according to the report. Meanwhile, Israel’s Security Cabinet voted on Sunday to withhold 597 million shekels ($182 million) from the tax revenues it collects for the Palestinian Authority, in accordance with a terror finance law passed in 2018. The amount is equivalent to what the P.A. spent on “indirect support for terrorism” the previous year. July 12, 2021
A mortar shell landed in a gas field in eastern Syria housing coalition forces, a war monitor reported on Sunday. It fell in the Conoco gas field in Deir Ezzor province, near a base of the US-led coalition battling Daesh group remnants, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The war monitor said a blast was heard in the area but there were no immediate reports of casualties. It said pro-Iran militias were likely responsible for the incident that followed a series of recent attacks on the nearby Al-Omar oil field, which also houses coalition forces. The state-run SANA news agency said an explosion was heard from the area of the Conoco gas field, but did not provide additional details. The coalition was not immediately available for comment. An explosion has killed four people in a Sudanese Red Sea port city, officials said Sunday, the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area. Tensions have been simmering in recent days in Port Sudan, where anti-government protesters have reportedly blocked roads over rising insecurity. Local media have linked the unrest to rejection by the Hadendoa tribe of an October peace deal between rebel groups and the government. The Hadendoa, the largest subdivision of the Beja people in the region, fear their tribe will be under-represented in regional legislative and executive bodies under the agreement. Saturday’s blast took place late in the evening at a busy sporting club in Port Sudan, the provincial capital of the Red Sea state and the country’s main port, and also involved an armed attack. “An explosive device went off at Al-Amir club … killing four people,” the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors said in a statement. Haiti has asked for foreign troops to be sent to the country to protect key infrastructure after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. The request was sent by the government to the US and the UN, but the US says it has no plans to offer military assistance “at this time”. Haitian police earlier said a group of 28 foreign mercenaries killed the president on Wednesday. After a gun battle in the capital Port-au-Prince, 17 of them were detained. Some of the group, which Haiti says included retired Colombian soldiers, were held at the house they were using, others after entering Taiwan’s diplomatic compound, the police said. Three suspects were killed by police, and eight others are still being sought. The UN Security Council would have to approve any plan to send international troops to Haiti under UN auspices. Although the US will not offer troops, it said on Friday it was sending FBI and Department of Homeland Security officials to Haiti to help in the investigation. The killing has triggered some civil unrest in Haiti, the poorest nation in the Americas. A state of emergency remains in force across the country and it is unclear who is in effective charge of the country’s government. July 12, 2021
Tens of thousands of Cubans took to the streets Sunday in rare protests against the communist government. The island nation faces mounting socio-economic issues, food inflation, and other problems exacerbated by the virus pandemic. Protestors chanted “down with the dictatorship,” “freedom,” and “homeland and life” across multiple Cuban cities. Here are the scenes on the ground. Cubans are fed up with worsening economic problems, food shortage/runaway food inflation, lack of medicine and other essential products, rolling electricity blackouts, as well as the third wave of the virus pandemic. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel blames the uprising on a foreign smear campaign initiated by the US. “The order of combat is given, the revolutionaries take to the streets,” Díaz-Canel said. “In several protest areas, internet service on cell phones has been cut off, so news from the island is being interrupted, according to NBC Miami.” July 12, 2021
Eastern China’s Shandong Province was hit by its largest tornado outbreak in more than 10 years on July 11, 2021. At least 10 tornadoes were reported, with at least 3 of them were violent. The reports are still coming in and the number of reported tornadoes is rising. A violent tornado moved directly into downtown Shenxian around 13:00 UTC on July 11, 2021, causing ‘catastrophic’ damage. Another possible violent tornado flattened entire forests before moving directly into downtown Gaotang shortly after the Shenxian event. Another possible major tornado hit BingZhou at midnight local time. This tornado destroyed manufactured houses, completely tore down reinforced concrete telephone poles and threw vehicles. The enthusiasm surrounding the Abraham Accords, particularly the seemingly flourishing relationship between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, seems to have taken a backseat following reports that none of the economic projects promised by the U.S. as part of the agreements have take off the ground. The Biden administration has also yet to replace Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone, whom Trump selected to lead the Abraham Fund and who left his position in January. According to Globes, Israeli sources confirmed that an unnamed senior U.S. official confirmed the fund was indefinitely frozen. According to Hebrew-language daily Globes, despite seemingly supporting the accords, the Biden administration is reluctant to allocate a budget for the Abraham Fund. The fund is a $3 billion commitment by the U.S. to develop an initiative meant to promote regional, economic cooperation in the Middle East as part of the agreements. July 8, 2021
According to Israeli media, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett secretly met with Jordan’s King Abdullah in Amman this week, a further sign that the two countries are looking to improve relations and reverse years of tension. The meeting was defined by a senior security official as “very good” and said it opens a “new page” between the countries, according to Channel 12. Barak Ravid of the Walla news website first reported the news. Bennett apparently left for Jordan on Tuesday and met with King Abdullah at his palace in Amman. Earlier this week Israel approved a deal to transfer water to Jordan for the next five years. Today, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met with his Jordanian counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Spadi, where they also agreed on other trade and water projects in addition to increasing Jordan’s export potential to the West Bank. “The Kingdom of Jordan is an important neighbor and partner,” Lapid said in a statement. “We will broaden economic cooperation for the good of the two countries.” The meeting marks a clear shift in Israeli foreign policy with the Bennett-Lapid government. One of the three huge logistics bases which the US military recently dismantled in Qatar and relocated to Jordan was the largest in the world. In the last few days, the US has shut down Army Camp As Sayliyah Main, Army Camp As Sayiliyah South and the Falcon an ammunition supply point. Their 27 warehouses storing tanks, armored personnel carriers and other equipment were stored in this forward staging post in Qatar for US supplies across the Middle East and as a reserve stock in case hostilities erupted with Iran. Supplies from the three bases, as well as a support mission based there, are now part of the US Central Command Area Support Group-Jordan. American sources say that this massive relocation is aimed at reducing friction with Iran and clearing the path to revived nuclear negotiations, as well as decreasing the threat of rocket attacks in the Gulf region by Iran-backed Iraqi militias. A facility housing U.S. troops in eastern Syria came under attack late Sunday when rockets were fired from nearby areas, an opposition war monitor, state media and a spokesman for U.S.-backed fighters said. Earlier Sunday, Siyamend Ali, a spokesman for the U.S.-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, said two rockets were fired at al-Omar field in Syria’s eastern province of Deir el-Zour without inflicting any casualties. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the rockets were fired from areas controlled by Iran-backed fighters in the area of Mayadeen, also in Deir el-Zour. The U.S. military denied there was any attack. “There is no truth to the reports that U.S. forces in Syria were attacked by rockets today,” tweeted coalition spokesman Col. Wayne Marotto. Meanwhile, a day after rumors of an attack on US forces in Syria by pro-Iran militias, they made good on their threats with two rounds of attacks on the US in Iraq. During the afternoon, rockets targeted Al-Asad base; by the evening, drones were reported to have targeted an area near the US embassy. The coalition said “initial report: At approx. 2:45 p.m. local time, Ain Al-Assad Air Base was attacked by three rockets. The rockets landed on the base perimeter. There are no injuries, and damage is being assessed.” Then after midnight, but less than 12 hours after the first attack, sirens were triggered at the US embassy area and Union III facility near the embassy. C-RAM, which is a kind of munition used to down mortars, was used to try to stop the drone threat. Then, two rockets were fired at the US embassy inside Baghdad’s Greene Zone early on Thursday, Iraqi security sources told Reuters. The embassy’s anti-rocket system diverted one of the rockets, said one of the sources – a security official whose office is inside the Green Zone. The second rocket fell near the zone’s perimeter. Iraqi security forces have a new problem to deal with, as ISIS terrorists have been attacking electric power lines, usually the kind that travel long distances on large pylons. The worldwide jihadist group has attacked dozens in recent weeks. Now Iraq says that it ambushed some of the terrorists near the city of Hit. It has succeeded in thwarting attacks in Diyala province. ISIS has started attacking this infrastructure as a way to send a message that it still controls the countryside. Meanwhile, in other parts of Iraq, there have been increasing attacks on US forces by pro-Iran militias. ISIS is also attacking Iraqi checkpoints in some parts of the country. July 6, 2021
A mysterious fire broke out on Monday evening at a military facility in western Tehran, not far from the centrifuge factory that was damaged in a drone attack last month. The military facility is located in an industrial area west of Iran’s capital. The cause of the fire is unknown. Firefighters were called to the scene. According to one report in Iran, the facility belongs to a company that produces ballistic missile fuel. Iran has been suffering from power outages in several areas in the country in recent days. The outages have caused slowdowns in the activities of public and government bodies, hospitals, businesses and factories. On Saturday, Israeli intelligence group The Intel Lab released satellite photos of what it said is damage from the reported drone attack on an Iranian nuclear facility in Karaj last month. The Taliban has hinted that Kabul could become a military target should any foreign troops remain in the Afghan capital past the US-led coalition’s withdrawal deadline, as the insurgent group continues to seize more territory. Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen told the BBC that any foreign soldiers who stay behind after the September exit agreement risk being treated as occupiers. He said that, while capturing the Afghan capital was “not Taliban policy,” nothing would be off the table should foreign forces – including military contractors – remain in the capital after the withdrawal was complete. The warning comes after the Pentagon signaled that as many as 1,000 US troops could remain in the city to guard embassies and help protect Kabul’s airport. Meanwhile, A prominent anti-Taliban commander with private militia will help Afghan forces in their fight against Taliban insurgents to claw back control over parts of western Afghanistan including a border crossing with Iran, local officials said on Friday. A key district in Herat province, home to tens of thousands of minority Shi’ite Hazaras was captured by fighters of the hardline Sunni Muslim insurgent group on Thursday as part of their strategy to oust Afghan forces and hold sway over critical border towns and trade routes. Gunmen assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and wounded his wife in their home early Wednesday, inflicting more chaos on the unstable Caribbean country that was already enduring an escalation of gang violence, anti-government protests and a recent surge in coronavirus infections. Claude Joseph, the interim prime minister, confirmed the killing and said the police and military were in control of security in Haiti, where a history of dictatorship and political upheaval have long stymied the consolidation of democratic rule. While the streets of the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, were quiet Wednesday morning, some people ransacked businesses in one area. The country appeared to be heading for fresh uncertainty ahead of planned general elections later this year. Supermarkets are stocking up on everything from sugar to frozen meat before they get more pricey, girding for what some executives anticipate will be some of the highest price increases in recent memory. Some supermarkets said they are buying and storing supplies to keep their shelves full amid stronger demand. Grocery sales in the U.S. for the week ended June 19 rose about 15% from two years earlier and increased 0.5% from a year earlier, according to Jefferies and NielsenIQ data. Stockpiling by food retailers is driving shortages of some staples, grocery industry executives said, and is challenging a U.S. food supply chain already squeezed by transportation costs, labor pressure and ingredient constraints. The move is a reversal from last year when consumers hoarded groceries because of concerns about food availability, disrupting the food industry. A very bright fireball exploded over Idaho, U.S. at around 04:48 UTC on July 4, 2021. The event lasted 5 or 6 seconds, culminating in a flash that illuminated the sky. The American Meteor Society (AMS) received 84 reports from Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Meanwhile, another fireball exploded over Taiwan shortly after 16:02 UTC on July 6, 2021 (00:02 LT, July 7). The event lasted around 40 seconds before the object disintegrated. The fireball was recorded by Lulin Observatory, located at the summit of Lulin Mountain in Nantou County, and numerous residents. The object flashed four times, with each ignition causing the fireball to grow bigger and brighter. July 8, 2021

I recently ready a post that had pointed out some bible prophecies which would be fulfilled soon. What I am about to show you is extremely important for those who are watching the end time signs and, even more important to those of you who do not believe in Jesus Christ as the true and only savior of the world. For the believer we are watching because we know when we see the fulfillment of these prophecies, we know that the rapture of the Church is at hand. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord yet you may witness these signs as one of the people who were left behind when Jesus calls His church home. If you are left behind you will be dealing with the Antichrist during the tribulation period. You may think this is a joke, but I promise you when the tribulation starts you will wish you listened to our warnings. For all I know you may be one of the people who are already fulfilling the prophecy found in 2 Peter 3:4 where Peter states the following: “They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” Let us now take a look at some of the prophecies that will be fulfilled soon.
Who is Elam in prophecy? Elam is modern day Iran
Disaster in Iran – (Jeremiah 49:34-39),34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,35 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the Lord.39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord.
More than likely this prediction identifies a nuclear disaster that happens in the ancient territory of Elam, which is where the Bushehr Nuclear Reactor is situated. As you will see form the link below Russia is presently working with Iran on the construction of two more reactors in this area, Bushehr 2, which is to be completed in 2024, and Bushehr 3 to be finished in 2026. This nuclear disaster creates a humanitarian crisis that causes millions of Iranian exiles to leave the affected territory.
If you take a look at the news below you will see for yourself we are on the road to seeing Iran and Israel marching toward a major conflict. Iran has again warned they will wipe Israel out and Israel has warned Iran they will never let Iran finish building their nuclear plant. It wouldn’t surprise me to witness Israel attacking Iran’s nuclear plant which would cause millions of Iranians to evacuate as nuclear material begin to spread.
Destruction of Damascus – (Isaiah 17,1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. Jeremiah 49:23-27),23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord of hosts.27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
This prophecy clearly declares that the Syrian capital city of Damascus, which is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, will be entirely destroyed. It will be reduced to rubble and become a ruinous heap. This destruction is caused by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). When you take a look at the current events and see what Syria looks like after many years of civil war you should expect that both prophecies I listed dealing with Syria will soon be completely fulfilled. Israel and Syria are still at odds with each other and it is only a matter of time before war breaks out with these two nations. I for one believe the full fulfillment of Isaiah and Jeremiah will take place when the Psalm 83 war breaks out.
Toppling of Jordan – (Jeremiah 49:1-6, Zephaniah 2:8-9, Ezekiel 25:14), This prophecy pronounces that Amman Jordan, like Damascus, will be a destroyed city. This destruction will be caused by the IDF and it also involves the toppling of other cities in Central and Southern Jordan.
Terrorization of Egypt – (Isaiah 19:1-18), According to this prediction, Egypt’s economy will entirely collapse soon and quickly. It happens as a result of a forthcoming conflict between Egypt and Israel, which may be part of the Psalm 83 prophecy. Egypt presently has a fragile peace treaty with Israel, but this prophecy points out that this pact is paper-thin.
Final Arab-Israeli War – (Psalm 83), This amounts to the final conflict that ends the Arab-Israeli conflict. The IDF wins this war. The image below identifies the Arab confederacy of Psalm 83.
Emergence of the Exceedingly Great Israeli Army – (Ezekiel 37:10, Obadiah 1:18, Jeremiah 49:2, Ezekiel 25:14, Isaiah 11:14, 17:9, Zechariah 12:6), The IDF exists in Bible prophecy and as the above prophecies pointed out, they defeat their Arab enemies and resolve the Mideast conflict militarily. The IDF is not involved in the Ezekiel 38 invasion or the Battle of Armageddon. Thus, they exist today to deal with their Arab foes.
Expansion of Israel – (Obadiah 1:19-20), As a result of the IDF victories, Israel will enlarge its borders into Southern Lebanon, Jordan and parts of Egypt. They will also possess the Gaza, where the Hamas are, and the entire West Bank.
Vanishing of the Christians – (1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18), This event is a miraculous disappearing act, rather than a magic one. Jesus Christ will come at an unannounced time and remove all of the true believers from the earth in an instant. This miracle will end the Church Age and could happen at any time. I know many reading this will laugh at the idea of millions of people disappearing in a blink of an eye however, these will be the same people who will be left behind to face the Antichrist and then they won’t be laughing.
Emergence of a Greater, Safer and Wealthier Israel – (Ezekiel 38:8-13), A major prophecy involving a coalition spearheaded by Russia, Turkey and Iran that invades Israel when it is dwelling prosperously and securely. These conditions seem to result after the IDF defeats its enemies in some of the afore listed prophecies.
The Decline of America -In my book the Last Chronicles of Planet Earth you will find the chapter on the Attack Against Israel. I show you how the (USA could be the young lions of Tarshish in Ezekiel 38:13), The USA seems to be identified in this Ezekiel 38 prophecy as a protester of the Russian-led invasion. The good news is that America is not identified among the invaders, but the bad news is that the country can’t seem to fight on behalf of Israel. This implies that between now and this invasion that the America will slip from its present superpower status. I my prophecy site I have been warning you this would happen for years. Under the Biden Administration we are watching the U.S. decline faster than we ever imagined.
Russia, Turkey, Iran and their Coalition Invade Israel – (Ezekiel 38), This invasion has been mentioned already, but when it happens it will undoubtedly be the most massive Mideast invasion of all time up to that point. God will stop these forces supernaturally and the world will be in shock when they see the Lord win this war on Israel’s behalf. This is the marquee event, whereby God intends to uphold His Holy Name as per Ezekiel 39:7. Lately we have been seeing a lot of news about the Iran, Russia, and Turkey alliance. There is no question the foot prints to the Ezekiel war is being set up.
Unrestrained Supernatural Deception – (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12), For almost 2000 years, Satan has been aware of a prophecy that promises of a time to come when he will be unrestrained to deceive mankind. The prophecy says that the Devil will unleash all of his power through signs and lying wonders in the immediate aftermath of the Rapture.
You can bet the Devil has something powerfully deceptive in his bag of tricks. It could involve fallen angels and demons masquerading as extra-terrestrials from outer space who claim that they are superior to people and that mankind is not alone in this universe. This would blow a huge hole in the biblical narrative. Presently, the USA is beginning to divulge some of its classified findings on the UFO phenomenon. It will be interesting to see how this scenario develops in the near future.
Arrival of the Antichrist- (Revelation 6:1-2), As per #12 above, one of the purposes of the Satanic supernatural deception is to introduce the Antichrist into the world. So, after the Rapture, the deception begins and the Antichrist arrives on the scene. This coming charismatic world leader shows up as the White Horseman of the First Seal Judgment. He is the one who will confirm the covenant of Daniel 9:27 between Israel and another party and that starts the Seven-Year Tribulation Period. Thus, he has to be on the scene before the Tribulation begins, but he isn’t revealed until after the Rapture takes place.
World Wars, Famines & Plagues – (Revelation 6:3-6), After the Antichrist rides in on the White Horse, the Red and Black Horsemen of the Second and Third Seal Judgments ride onto the earth’s stage and they take peace from the earth and bring about wars that lead to famines and plagues. Some scholars believe these judgments take place during the Tribulation, but in my book entitled, The NEXT Prophecies, I point out that the first Five Seal Judgments, might find fulfillment within the Post-Rapture / Pre-Tribulation Gap.
The prophecy about 144,000 Jewish men. 144,000 Jewish Evangelists Emerge – (Revelation 7:1-8), Amidst all of the Satanic deception and chaos taking place on the earth, God will call upon 12,000 men from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel to evangelize the world. These men will be virgins’. According to Revelation 7:9-17 they are instrumental in leading a vast multitude of people to Jesus Christ. However, it’s important to note that these are people who were left behind from the Rapture because they were unbelievers at the time. In this passage, we see an angel carrying the seal “of the living God” (Revelation 7:2). This is a title that is used whenever God is about to intervene on behalf of His people. In this case, God’s seal not only indicates ownership (2 Corinthians 1:22) and authenticity (John 6:27), but also protection (Ephesians 4:30). The “bond-servants” (Revelation 7:3) who are to receive God’s seal will be protected from divine judgment throughout the remainder of the tribulation and most likely from death.
The prophecy concerning “Mystery, Babylon,” the Harlot religion – (Revelation 17), The Bible predicts the coming of a global world religion. Some believe that this is an ecumenical version of diverse Christian denominations and other faiths, a sort of a super-church. If you watch my video below you will see why I make the case that this Mystery Babylon maybe coming out of Mecca.
Two phases of the “Overflowing Scourge” – (Isaiah 28:15-18, Rev. 6:7-8), The Bible speaks about a scourge that comes in two phases that overtakes the earth and concerns Israel. It is this scourge that motivates Israel to become a signatory in the false covenant that triggers the start of the Seven-Year Tribulation Period as seen in Daniel 9:27. There are many prophecy teachers who now believe we have seen the beginning foot prints to the Daniel 9:27 prophecy. Could the Trump deal with was made between Israel and th Arabs be the beginning of that prophecy? Watch the video below to get a better idea of what I am talking about.

The Rapture prophecy: Post-Rapture Christian martyrdom – (Revelation 6:9-11,17:6), After the Rapture, many people will come to the Lord, it will be an unprecedented revival. However, these converts will meet with three different Christian killing crusades. The global religion appears to martyr believers after the Rapture until it gets desolated by Ten Kings in Revelation 17:16. Subsequently, the Antichrist, as per Revelation 20:4 beheads Christians who don’t receive his Mark of the Beast spoken of in Revelation 13:15-16. If you reject Jesus as Lord you can place yourself in this Revelation time frame, not a good place to be to say the least!
