A false prophet is a person who spreads false teachings or messages while claiming to speak the Word of God. In the Bible, false prophets also spoke on behalf of false gods. False prophets functioned in their prophetic role illegitimately or for the purpose of deception. The Bible denounces false prophets for leading people astray. In the Old Testament, the actual term false prophet does not occur, but references to false prophets are evident and abundant. In the book of Jeremiah, we encounter a clear description of false prophets: “Then the LORD said to me, ‘The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds’” (Jeremiah 14:14; see also 23:21–33; Zechariah 10:2).  The primary difference between men like Jeremiah—a true prophet of God—and false prophets was their source of information. Rather than speak the Word of the Lord, false prophets delivered messages that originated in their own hearts and minds: “This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD’” (Jeremiah 23:16; see also 14:14; 23:25–32; Ezekiel 13:1–7). God distances Himself from all false prophets: “I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied” (Jeremiah 23:21).

 

Another sign of the coming cashless society/More war signs/Disease/180,000 birds are culled ...Many years ago I received the message about Jesus Christ over a long distant phone call from my cousin Gary Sillato who is now with our Lord in Heaven. It was a Saturday night. I asked Jesus into my life on that phone conversation. Sunday morning the next day two Jehovah witnesses came to my door. At the time I thought Jesus sent them however, 11 months later after finding out they were hiding  important information from me I left the teaching of the JW Watchtower Society. I never became a Jehovah’s witness. I was just about to take my test to be baptized as a JW but the real Jesus Christ put a stop to that.

What was the information the JW’s were not telling me? They were keeping secret the fact that their organization from the very start was founded by a false prophet by the name of Charles T Russell . Fact is, after Russell more JW false prophets emerged. Below you will see a list of some of these false prophecies. Not one thing these JW false prophets said would happen as God told them actually took place!  The sad part about this information is even after these JW prophecies did not come to pass as their leaders told them the members did not leave the organization. They choose not to follow what Jesus warned about false prophets and so they become imbedded in all types of false teachings. Take a look below at some of these false prophecies made by the JW organization. But before you do let it be known that if you talk to a JW and they tell you they don’t have any prophets in their organization show they what their own orgazition teachs in their Watchtower of April, 1972.  “So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?…This ‘prophet’ was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as the International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses.” (Watchtower, April 1, 1972, p. 197)

False prophecy list: 

1880 “As the beginning of that change was marked by the coming of Christ from heaven, so the 2300 years above mentioned indicated that Christ was due to leave the most holy place – ‘heaven itself’ – in 1844.” (Watchtower 7/1880 p. 3, Reprints p. 115)

1881 January: “Matt. xxv and the parallelism of the Jewish and Gospel ages, seem to teach that the wise of the virgins ‘who are alive and remain’ must all come in, to a knowledge of the Bridegroom’s presences, by the fall of 1881, when the door – opportunity to become a member of the bride – will close.” (January 1881 Watchtower, p. 4) February: “And now we come nearer to the time when our change seems due (we know not the day or hour, but expect it during 1881, possibly near the autumn when the parallels show the favor to Zion complete and due to end, the door the marriage shut and high calling to be the bride of Christ, to cease) and light on the subject is becoming clearer…” (Watchtower, February, 18814, p. 5) Note: the closer they came to October 1881 the less definite the Watchtower became regarding the “change.” July/August: “We look to October of this year, as the limit of favor – the end of ‘the acceptable year (time or age) of the Lord’ – the closing of the ‘straight gate’ to the ‘narrow way’ of the opportunity to become a member of the bride of Christ and partaker of his Divine Nature.” (July/August Watchtower, 1881, p. 6)

1889 “In this volume we offer a chain of testimony on the subject of God’s appointed times and seasons, each link of which we consider Scripturally strong…it is beyond the breadth and depth of human thought, and therefore cannot be of human origin. (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 2, 1889, p. 15)

1892 “The date of the close of that ‘battle’ is definitely marked in the Scripture as October, 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October 1874.” (Watchtower Reprints, January 15, 1892, p. 1355)

1897 “Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874 A.D., according to the testimony of the prophets, to those who have ears to hear it.” (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, 1897, pl. 621)

1914 “The war will proceed and will eventuate in no glorious victory for any nation, but in the horrible mutilation and impoverishment of all. Next will follow the Armageddon of anarchy.” (The New York Times, October 5, 1914, p. 8)

1916 “In the meantime, eyes of understanding should discern clearly the Battle of the Great Day of God Almighty now in progress; and our faith, guiding our eyes of understanding through the Word,, should enable us to see the glorious outcome – Messiah’s Kingdom.” (Watchtower Reprints, September 1, 1916, p. 5951)

1917 “The data presented in the comments on Revelation 2:1 prove that the conquest of Judea was not completed until the day of Passover, A.D. 73, and in the light of the foregoing Scriptures, prove that the Sprint of 1918 will bring upon Christendom a spasm of anguish greater even than that experienced in the Fall of 1914.” (The Finished Mystery, p. 62(1918 ed.) (some later editions have changed the dates for obvious reasons) “Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of ‘Christianity’” (p. 485)

1920 “Even the republics will disappear in 1920…The three days in which Pharaoh’s host pursued the Israelites into the wilderness represent the three years from 1917 to 1920 at which time all of Pharaoh’s messengers will be swallowed up by the sea of anarchy. The wheels will come off their chariots – organization.” (The Finished Mystery, 1918 ed., p, 258)

1920 “As we have heretofore stated, the great jubilee cycle is due to begin in 1925. At the time the earthly phase of the kingdom shall be recognized…Therefore we may confidently expect that the 1925 will mark the return of Abraham…” (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, p. 89)

1922 “The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures because it is fixed by the law God gave to Israel. Viewing the present situation in Europe, one wonders how it will be possible to hold back the explosion much longer; and that even before 1925 the great crisis will be reached and probably passed.” (Watchtower September 1, 1922, p. 262)

1925 January: “The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during the year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his own people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire during this year that they would fail to joyfully do what the Lord would have them do.” (Watchtower, January 1, 1925, p. 3)

September: “It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated the thought that 1925 should see an end of the work, and that therefore it would be needless for them to do more.” (Watchtower, September 1, 1925)

1940 “The year 1940 is certain to be the most important year yet, because Armageddon is very near. It behooves all who love righteousness to put forth every effort to advertise THE THEOCRACY while the privileges are still open.” (Informant, May 1940, p. 1) September: “The Kingdom is here, the King is enthroned. Armageddon is just ahead. The glorious reign of Christ that shall bring blessings to the world will immediately follow. Therefore the great climax has been reached. Tribulation has fallen upon those who stand by the Lord.” (The Messenger, September 1940, p. 6)

1941 “Meantime the German people are awakening to their horrible predicament. They no longer laugh as decent men and women were made to laugh, but their faces are white, pinched and filled with forebodings of what the near future will bring and is already hastening to bring to them – Armageddon, the battle of the great day of God Almighty.” (Consolation, October 29, 1941, p. 11)

1968 “Just think, brothers, there are only about 90 months left before the 6000 years of man’s existence on earth is completed…The majority of people living today will probably be alive when Armageddon breaks out.” (Kingdom Ministry, 3/68, p. 4)

1974 “Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in the old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world’s end.” (Kingdom Ministry, May 1974, p. 3)

As the preceding conclusively proves, the Watchtower should have been speaking of itself when it said: “True, there have been those in times past who predicted an ‘end to the world,’ even announcing a specific date. Some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end. Yet, nothing happened…Why? What was missing?…Missing from such people were God’s truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them.” (Awake! October 8, 1968, p. 23)

When I did my own research on what the JW organization may be hiding I was blown away by the number of JW false prophets and, the false teachings being made by the leaders of the organization.  I have done many videos showing you the proof I found that the JW’s have altered God’s word on purpose to teach something other than what the Lord has said in the Bible. Below you will see one of these videos.

 

Below is a section on the Jehovah’s Witnesses I wrote in my book. 

Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that God sends angels to them to give them the prophecies from God.  Read what they said and are still saying to this day.  “This would indicate that Jehovah’s Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support…the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven” (The Watchtower, April 1, 1972 p.200).  “There cannot be a question of doubt that Jesus Christ can and does direct every division of his organization and that he can and does use his holy angels to carry into operation his orders and direct the course of the remnant on earth, regardless of the fact that the remnant cannot see these agents or ambassadors of the Lord and can have no direct or audible communication with them” (The Watchtower Sept. 1, 1932, p.263).  “The title of the teaching was ‘a prophet was among them’.  This ‘prophet’ was not one man, but was a body of men and women.  It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students.  Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses…Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet’ of God.  It is another thing to prove it.  The only way that this can be done is to review the record.  What does it show?  This would indicate that Jehovah’s Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support.  And since no word or work of Jehovah can fail, for he is God Almighty, the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven.  Yes, the time must come shortly that the nations will have to know that really a ‘prophet’ of Jehovah was among them” (The Watchtower, April 1972, p.197).  The Watchtower claimed in their November 1, 1931 edition that “the Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of men, nor is it published according to the whims of men.  No man’s opinion is expressed in the Watchtower.”  In other words, everything that is written in the organization’s Watchtower magazines is from God.  It’s very important to check out everything they stated to see if it really came from God, or are they false prophets?  Let us put their prophecies from the so-called “prophet” to God’s test.  Here is how God told us to make that test.  “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?  If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken.  That prophet has spoken presumptuously.  Do not be afraid of him” (Deuteronomy 18:21b-22).  The test is simple.  Let us keep one very important fact in mind before we review the record.  The Bible makes it clear that if just one prophecy is not fulfilled, then the person who made it is a false prophet.  Did everything happen just the way the Watchtower said it would or not?  Let’s find out.

Charles Russell, founder of the Jehovah’s Witness organization, on numerous occasions set dates for the return of Jesus Christ.  Witness presidents who followed Russell also set dates for the Lord’s return.  Every prophecy they made failed to come true.  In 1889 this prophecy was proclaimed.  “The battle of the great day of God Almighty (Revelation 16:14b), which will end in AD 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth’s present rulership is already commenced” (The Time Is at Hand, 907, p.101).  When the end of the world did not end in 1914, Russell changed the date:  “We consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished near the end of AD 1915” (Times of the Gentiles p.99).  When the prophecy failed in 1915, too, the date was changed again:  “The date 1925, is even more distinctly indicated by the scriptures than 1914” (Watchtower Sept. 1, 1922 p.262).  The next prophecy was made in 1918, and this prophecy was to be fulfilled in 1925.  These are their exact words.  “Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the apostle in Hebrews Chapter 11, to the condition of human perfection” (Millions Now Living Will Never Die p.89).  The organization was so convinced they purchased a mansion in San Diego, CA. called Beth-Sarim.  The mansion was to become the home for the three prophets mentioned above when they returned from the dead in 1925.  Since the leaders of the Jehovah’s Witness organization were false prophets, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob never did rise from the dead, and thus never lived in the Beth-Sarim mansion.

You want to know for sure?  Do what I did, get a copy of the deed from the courthouse.

I wrote the San Diego court and received a copy of the deed on the mansion.  In the deed, the organization had written the purpose for the purchase of the mansion was to be the home for the three prophets.  In 1925 none of the three prophets rose from the dead to live in the Beth-Sarim mansion.  After the prophecy failed, the organization sold the mansion, and to this day they keep this false prophecy hidden from new members.  Why?  Because the Jehovah Witness organization doesn’t want new members to know they have false prophets running the show.  If you are a Jehovah Witness, go to the Beth-sarim mansion.  The address is 4440 Braeburn Road, San Diego, California.  Knock on the door and ask to speak with all three of the prophets who rose from the dead.  At that point, I am sure you will understand it was all a lie!  Finally, the decision was made to try and smooth over all the false prophecies so they said, “There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah’s faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1915, 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time…and they also learned to quit fixing dates” (Vindication 1931, p.338).  However, even that was a lie because they still set new dates for Jesus to rule over the Earth.  Apparently, they didn’t learn their lesson from all the previous false prophecies.  In 1968 the organization prophesied once again.  This time the end of the world would take place in 1975.  This is a portion of what they wrote about their prophecy.  You can find their statement in the Kingdom Ministry, March  page 4.  “Since we have dedicated ourselves to Jehovah, we want to do his will to the fullest extent possible.  Making some special effort to do more than the usual helps us live up to our dedication.  In view of the short period of time left, we want to do this as often as circumstances permit.  Just think, brother, there are only about ninety months left before 6,000 years of man’s existence on earth is completed Do you remember what we learned at the assemblies last summer?  The majority of people living today will probably be alive when Armageddon breaks out, and there are no resurrection hopes for those who are destroyed then.  So, now more than ever, it is vital not to ignore that spirit of wanting to do more.”  So what happened?  The year 1975 passed, and so did 1976, 1977, and the years all the way up to 2009, and not one single thing in their prophecy came to pass!  If anyone really loved God and that person read these false prophecies, he or she would be compelled by the Holy Spirit to leave the Jehovah Witness Organization right away.  The “angels” that were supposed to be giving God’s words to the organization must have been those messengers that Paul wrote to Timothy about.  “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.  Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2).  As of January 2008, the Watchtower still won’t admit their leaders were false prophets.  The leaders never volunteer their record of false prophecies, and they will do almost anything to hide the fact not one prophecy made in their organization came to pass.  What is amazing to me is all Jehovah Witnesses teach Jesus Christ is the True Savior of the world; yet, when you question them about this issue, they will deny Him that right.  Let me give you an example.  Ask any Jehovah Witness if he or she believes Jesus was a true God.  He or she will tell you “yes.”  Then ask whether Jesus ever sinned.  This answer will be “no, He never sinned.”  Then ask if Jesus was a true prophet.  Once again he or she will say “yes.”  Ask whether Jesus ever prophesied anything that did not come to pass?  Again the answer will be “no.”  That person will be quick to tell you “everything Jesus prophesied came to pass, or He was a false prophet and false God.”  Now ask whether Jesus ever misled anyone in anyway.  The answer will be “no.”  Now ask him or her to read John 2:19-22.  These verses say, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?  But he spake of the temple of his body.  When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.”  Now ask the Jehovah Witness this question.  “Did Jesus do exactly what He said He would do?”  The response will be “Do what?”  You say, “raise Himself from the dead just as it says in the Bible.”  The answer will be “Jesus did not raise Himself from the dead but that the Father raised Him.”  As I said, Jehovah Witnesses only say they believe in Jesus, but they really don’t stand by His own words.  By not believing in the very words spoken by Jesus Himself, they make Jesus into the following.  If He didn’t raise His body as He stated He would, then He becomes a liar, sinner, false prophet, and false God.  Why is it that even His own disciples remembered what Jesus said and believed it; yet, the so-called witnesses will not?  The answer is clear.  The Jesus Christ they are following is not the same Jesus Christ found in the Bible.  Their leaders are misleading the witnesses, and they cannot challenge them on this issue either!  It is very simple; either Jesus did what He said, or He isn’t the True God.  If you’re not blinded by Satan, you will see the truth as it is written.  Jesus raised Himself because as God in the flesh, He had that power to do so.  Jesus even said He had the power to take His life back.  This is what Jesus said, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again” (John 10:18a).  The Jehovah Witnesses can’t believe Jesus had the ability to give His life and take it back.  Just because we don’t understand how Jesus did it doesn’t mean He couldn’t.  This organization is only one of many who are misleading millions of people worldwide.  If you are a true believer, you must accept the Word Christ spoke when He stated, “I will raise it up.”

The Watchtower organization says that Jesus did not rise from the dead in the same body He died in.  You can find what they teach in the book entitled, You Can Live Forever on Paradise Earth.  On pages 143-144 of that text, it stated that He rose as a spirit creature and that the material body of Jesus was taken away by God the Father.  Therefore, they deny the physical resurrection of Christ.  This is the doctrine of the Watchtower Society.  Now look at what Jesus told His disciples the day He appeared in the upper room after He rose from the dead.  When His disciples saw Christ appear, the Bible states, “But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit” (Luke 24:37).  Now read what Jesus’ response was.  I quote the very words of our Lord.  “Why are ye troubled?  And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself:  handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:38b-39).  Jesus flat out tells them He is not a spirit!  Christ said, “It is I myself,” proving that He was the exact same Jesus, who hung on the cross.  He even told them to touch and handle Him so they would know for sure it was the same exact Jesus.  He also eats fish with them to demonstrate He was flesh and bones, not a spirit creature, as the JW’s want you to believe.  Now the fact is if Jesus did not rise in the exact same body as the one hung on the cross, then He lied when He told His followers “It is I myself.”  He would have been lying when He said He wasn’t a spirit.  Did Jesus lie?  To a true Christian, the answer is NO, Jesus was exactly the same man He was when He was hung on the cross.  To a JW, Jesus becomes a liar if he or she does not accept the very words spoken by Christ.  The question is whom are you going to believe, Jesus’ own words or false prophets’?  Remember the words of the Watchtower, “This would indicate that Jehovah’s Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support…the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven” (The Watchtower, April 1, 1972 p.200).  Now listen to the warning made by Paul the Apostle concerning following another gospel and angels who deliver that gospel.  “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel – which is really no gospel at all.  Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!  As we have already said, so now I say again:  If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!” (Galatians 1:6-9 NIV Study Bible).  Paul saw the future and prophesied correctly because angels did come and give another gospel to these Jehovah’s Witnesses.  This gospel, however, would come with a curse.  What is that curse?  Paul says of the person preaching this false gospel, “let him be eternally condemned!”  The words Jesus spoke about Himself cause many problems for the Jehovah’s Witness Organization.  For example in Matthew 14:26-27 it says, “And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.  But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”  Jesus told them the exact same thing He told the disciples in the upper room when He appeared to them and they thought then He was a spirit.  Remember He told them He was not a spirit!  If Jesus was a spirit when He walked on the water and that took place before He went to the cross, that would mean He wasn’t a real human.  If He wasn’t a real human in the flesh, then His death did not count because He had to be human to make the sacrifice for all mankind.  So we conclude one thing:  Jesus had the power to do things beyond our understanding.  When He walked on the water, Jesus was a man.  When the Lord appeared to His disciples in the upper room, He was a man, not a spirit.  Now you can believe the Watchtower lies, which will make Jesus a liar, or you can simply take Jesus at His Word!

Jesus warned we would see false prophets in the last days and without a doubt they are here. The Watchtower of the JW’s isn’t the only ones who have fulfilled this statement: Rather than speak the Word of the Lord, false prophets delivered messages that originated in their own hearts and minds: “This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD’” (Jeremiah 23:16; see also 14:14; 23:25–32; Ezekiel 13:1–7).

In my video below I show you with a sad heart that many people who claimed God gave them visions, dreams or, spoke to them concerning Donald Trump staying as President in 2021. Today Jan. 22, 2021 two days after Joe Biden has become President we now know none of these prophecies came to pass. It has now become a fact that Rather than speak the Word of the Lord, these false prophets delivered messages that originated in their own hearts and minds.

Only God knows what was in the hearts and minds of all these so called prophets you will see my my video but this I know. Jesus has made us a promise that the only sin that will never be forgiven is the rejection of the Holy Spirit. Please what the video below.  I am sure you will see more of these false prophets come out the closer we get to the second coming of Jesus Christ.  One of these main false prophets will be working hand in hand with the Antichrist as warned by Jesus. 

Deuteronomy 18:21-22 deals with false prophets those who tell you they speak from God but it is a lie as what they state does not come to pass the way they stated what God told them.  22“But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ 22 If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared.

The IDF struck various Hamas guard posts in the Gaza strip in the night between Tuessday and Wednesday, according to an IDF Spokesperson. The strikes were carried out following the launch of a rocket towards Israel in the middle of the night.

Qatar Calls on Gulf States to Launch Discussions With Iran

Qatar has called for Gulf Arab countries to hold talks with Iran, the country’s foreign minister said in an interview aired Tuesday, after Doha reconciled with its neighbors following a rift. Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, who has previously called for dialogue with Iran, told Bloomberg TV he was “hopeful that this would happen and we still believe this should happen.” “This is also a desire that’s shared by other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries,” he said. It comes weeks after GCC hawks Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE reestablished ties with Qatar after breaking them off in June 2017 partly over allegations that Qatar was too close to Iran. Doha denied the accusations. Qatar and Iran share one of the world’s largest gas fields and Doha maintains cordial relations with Tehran. Doha is a close ally of Washington and has previously mediated between the US and Iran suggesting that Sheikh Mohammed’s intervention could be timed as a signal to the incoming administration of US President-elect Joe Biden.

Report: Trump Officials Say Mauritania, Indonesia Were About to Normalize with Israel, but Time Ran Out

Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim nation, and Mauritania were in the final stages of closing a normalization deal with Israel, but time ran out as Donald Trump’s presidency drew to a close, two U.S. officials told The Times of Israel this week. Mauritania was the closest to signing an agreement, the report said. The northwest African country, a member of the Arab League, established full diplomatic ties with Israel in 1999, but severed them a decade later as a result of the 2008-2009 Gaza war. Mauritania also has close ties with Morocco, which last month became the fourth country to enter the Abraham Accords after the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan. The officials said Indonesia would have likely normalized a deal with Israel in the next month or two had Trump remained in office. A senior administration official told Bloomberg that Indonesia could receive as much as $2 billion in development aid from the U.S.

US To Review Yemen Houthi Terrorist Label, End Saudi Support: Blinken

US President-elect Joe Biden’s administration will quickly revisit the designation of Yemen’s Huthi rebels as terrorists and end support to the devastating Saudi offensive on the country, his pick for secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said Tuesday. At his confirmation hearing, Blinken said he would “immediately” review the outgoing Trump administration’s labelling of the Iran-linked insurgents, fearing the move was worsening a humanitarian crisis. “At least on its surface, (the designation) seems to achieve nothing particularly practical in advancing the efforts against the Huthis and to bring them back to the negotiating table while making it even more difficult than it already is to provide humanitarian assistance to people who desperately need it,” Blinken told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “The Huthis bear significant responsibility for what’s happened in Yemen, but the way the campaign has been conducted has also contributed significantly to that situation. And so our support should end,” Blinken said.

Alleged US airstrike was ISIS attack on power lines: Iraqi officials

Two More US-Led Coalition Supply Convoys Attacked in Iraq

While pro-Iran media claimed the explosions were caused by US airstrikes, Iraqi officials have confirmed that the incident was an ISIS attack on infrastructure. An attack by ISIS militants on power transmission towers south of Baghdad caused the explosions mistakenly reported by regional media as US airstrikes on sites belonging to pro-Iranian militias in Jurf al-Sakhar south of Baghdad on Monday night, Iraq’s Security Media Cell confirmed on Tuesday morning. On Monday night, the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen news, as well as Al-Hurra and Al-Arabiya, reported that explosions were heard near Jurf al-Sakhar overnight after airstrikes targeted sites in the area. While Al-Mayadeen claimed that US airstrikes had targeted sites belonging to the Iraqi Armed Forces, Al-Hurra and Al-Arabiya claimed that the sites allegedly targeted belonged to the pro-Iranian Kataib Hezbollah militia, with multiple deaths and injuries reported in the alleged incident. Iraq’s Security Media Cell denied that Iraqi security forces in the area had been targeted by any strikes on Monday night, calling on the media and bloggers to be careful about transmitting information and not to broadcast rumors. A senior US defense official told Jennifer Griffin of Fox News overnight that there were no US airstrikes near Baghdad on Monday night, despite the reports. A Reuters reported confirmed that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied any knowledge of airstrikes in Iraq.

Iran holds ground forces drill on coast of Gulf of Oman

Blinken says US to seek ‘longer and stronger’ deal with Iran

Iran’s military kicked off a ground forces drill on Tuesday along the coast of the Gulf of Oman, state TV reported, the latest in a series of snap exercises that the country is holding amid escalating tensions over its nuclear program and Washington’s pressure campaign against Tehran. Iran has recently stepped up military drills as part of an effort to pressure President-elect Joe Biden over the nuclear deal that President Donald Trump pulled out of. Biden has said the US could rejoin the multinational accord meant to contain Iran’s nuclear program. Meanwhile, the US will come back into a nuclear accord with Iran if it returns to compliance, and Washington will eventually seek a stronger deal of greater duration, secretary of state-designate Antony Blinken said Tuesday. US President-elect Joe Biden “believes that if Iran comes back into compliance, we would too,” Blinken told his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “But we would use that as a platform with our allies and partners, who would once again be on the same side with us, to seek a longer and stronger agreement,” he said.

Sudan troops deployed in Darfur after clashes kill 155

Sudan’s transitional government ordered a heavy deployment of troops into the Darfur region on Tuesday to quell three days of tribal conflict in which at least 155 people died and tens of thousands were forced to flee their homes. The fighting began on Saturday between nomadic tribesmen and members of the Massalit ethnic group in El-Geneina, the capital of West Darfur. At least 100 people died, more than 130 were injured and up to 50,000 people fled areas in and around the Kerindig camp for internally displaced people. Authorities in West Darfur imposed a statewide curfew as troops arrived from Khartoum and other parts of Sudan to restore order. Separate clashes in South Darfur between the Fallata ethnic group and the Rizeigat tribe killed at least 55 people and injured 37. A heavy troop presence has also restored order there. The latest violence came after the joint UN- African Union peacekeeping mission ended its 13 years of operations in Darfur on Dec. 31, and began a phased withdrawal of its 8,000 armed and civilian staff.

‘Arab Spring Anniversary’ Protests Stretch to Fifth Day in Tunisia

Tuesday saw the fifth night of violent protests in cities across Tunisia – a bout of unrest that began as a commemoration of the 2011 “Arab Spring” movement, which began when a Tunisian street vendor set himself on fire to protest against government corruption. Reuters reported on Wednesday that the protesters have revived the revolutionary chant from 2011: “The people want the fall of the regime.”  The “regime” they wish to depose today is different, as former President Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali was the first leader forced out of office by the Arab Spring movement ten years ago. Ben Ali’s 23 years in power ended with a hasty flight to Saudi Arabia, where he died in exile in 2019. The Tunisian government is still struggling to recover some $67 million that Ben Ali and his family salted away in Swiss banks. The disillusioned protesters complain that the current government of Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi is not enough of an improvement over Ben Ali’s autocracy. Some said Mechichi and his “corrupt elite” stole Tunisia away from the revolutionaries of 2011.

The New York Police Department said at least 29 people were arrested – and at least 11 officers were injured – Monday when a crowd of protesters gathered on what would civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.’s 92nd birthday in lower Manhattan. Hundreds of people who first listened to speakers outside Barclays Center in Brooklyn participated in a so-called Black Liberation March, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall, where they were met with a large presence of NYPD officers, WNBC, the NBC owned TV station in New York, reported. Videos posted online showed officers wearing masks, and holding zip-tie flex cuffs, clash with demonstrators in the street that evening. Police said officers first began moving in to make arrests “when a female using an iPhone to record protestors” in front of the David N. Dinkins Municipal Building, at 1 Centre Street, had “protesters move in to harass her,” an NYPD spokeswoman confirmed to Fox News. Officers formed a circle to protect and remove the woman and then had glass bottles thrown at them. The spokeswoman said other officers used a public address system “to give clear, audible directions for protesters to leave the roadway.” A total of 29 individuals — including 12 males and 17 females who ranged in age from 20 to 41 – were arrested between Chambers and Centre streets. All but two people reside in the five boroughs of New York City — one resides in Rhode Island, the other in New Jersey.

Biden picks transgender woman as assistant health secretary

President-elect Joe Biden has tapped Pennsylvania Health Secretary Rachel Levine to be his assistant secretary of health, leaving her poised to become the first openly transgender federal official to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. A pediatrician and former Pennsylvania physician general, Levine was appointed to her current post by Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf in 2017, making her one of the few transgender people serving in elected or appointed positions nationwide. She won past confirmation by the Republican-majority Pennsylvania Senate and has emerged as the public face of the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is being reported that the South African government is working on implementing an entire Covid-19 vaccine ‘ID system’, which will not only encompass the so called ‘passports’, but will also include “management and surveillance of the Covid-19 vaccine,” as well as “an integrated track-and-trace system,” and “a dashboard system… to capture the reasons given for vaccine refusal.” Meanwhile, in Europe, another country has indicated it will adopt the vaccination passport scheme with Ukrainian health officials announcing that all vaccinated people will be entered into an electronic health care database. While scores of countries are now slowly moving toward the implementation of vaccination passports, airlines appear to have fully embraced the idea and essentially already have them in place.

IDF strikes Hamas tunnel workshops after 2 rockets fired toward Israel

The IDF struck Hamas tunnel excavation workshops in the Gaza Strip Monday morning after two rockets were fired toward Israel, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported. The rockets landed harmlessly in open areas near Ashdod, and warning sirens were not activated.  Video footage reportedly taken at the scene of one of the IDF strikes in Gaza was published on Palestinian social-media outlets Monday morning. Commanders for Israel’s Security (CIS), a nonpartisan movement of retired IDF generals and their Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), Mossad and Israel Police counterparts, on Monday said the rocket launches “make it clear that as long as Israel continues to leave the initiative in the hands of Hamas and other terrorist elements in the Gaza Strip, we will continue to see provocations from these elements… for some time toward Israel.”

Jordan condemns Israel’s approval of new settler homes in West Bank

The Israeli government on Sunday approved plans to build 780 new homes in Judea and Samaria, drawing criticism from the European Union, according to Reuters. One hundred of the units will be built in Tal Menashe, a settlement in northern Samaria that was home to Esther Horgen, a 52-year-old mother of six killed on Dec. 21 by a Palestinian terrorist while she was jogging in the forest near her house. More than 200 units will be built in Nofei Nehemia/Rehelim as well as approximately 400 units in Beit El, Evyatar, Shavei Shomron, Oranit, the Barkan Industrial Zone, Karnei Shomron and Givat Ze’ev. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the order for the construction on Jan. 11.

Egypt, Jordan intelligence chiefs meet Abbas in Ramallah

On the eve of the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden, the heads of the Egyptian and Jordanian intelligence services on Sunday visited Ramallah, where they met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Ahmed Husni, head of the Jordanian General Intelligence Directorate, and Abbas Kamel, head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, arrived unexpectedly in Ramallah at the head of delegations from their countries. Majed Faraj, head of the PA General Intelligence Service, attended the meeting. It came two days after Abbas announced new general elections for the PA presidency, parliament and the PLO’s Palestinian National Council. The visit of the two intelligence chiefs was within the context of ongoing coordination between the Palestinians and the two Arab countries in preparation for engaging the Biden administration, a PA official in Ramallah said. “We have decided to resume our contacts with the US administration,” the official said. “We are optimistic about the new US administration. We are in full coordination with our Arab brothers.”

Iran announces ‘Axis of Resistance Defense Treaty’

The Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran announced on Monday that it will work on preparing a draft resolution on the “defense and security treaty for the axis of resistance”, with the aim of collectively responding to any attack by NATO members and Israel. The deputy in the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Abu Fadl Abu Trabi, revealed the preparation of a draft resolution entitled “Defense and Security Treaty of the Axis of Resistance”. Abu Trabi indicated, in a statement carried by Iran’s Fars News Agency, that work is underway with the aim of collecting the necessary signatures to put the draft resolution up for discussion and voting. Abu Trabi noted that based on the text of the draft Defense Security Treaty for the Axis of Resistance, “when Israel attacks one of the Resistance Front countries or if Israel takes any action against this axis, the other member states of the group must exercise all its efforts from the military, economic and political aspects to completely ward off the danger.” According to the agency, the draft resolution stipulates only one article, which is: “All countries are with the liberation movements that are members of this treaty.”

Sudan demands Ethiopia withdraw its forces from ‘occupied territories’ and halt military buildup

On Sunday evening, the Sudanese Security and Defense Council appealed to Ethiopia to “withdraw its forces from the remaining positions it still occupies in Maraghad, Khor Hamar and Ghatar as soon as possible in compliance with international treaties and the sustainability of good-neighborly relations.” The Sudanese Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim Yassin, stated that “the council was informed of the developments on the eastern borders,” saying that “despite the military mobilization and build-up carried out by Ethiopia in the areas facing our forces in Al-Fashaqa, we confirm that our forces will remain in their lands in order to preserve sovereignty stipulated in the charters and agreements that affirm Sudan’s entitlement,” the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) reported. During his meeting with Tut Qalwak, advisor to the President of Southern Sudan, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok announced Khartoum’s approval of Juba’s mediation to resolve the border dispute with Ethiopia, which has worsened in recent weeks between Sudan and Ethiopia.

Tunisia arrests dozens as protests break out for second night

Tunisia arrests over 600, deploys troops after riots

Riots and violent clashes between Tunisian police and protesters broke out on Sunday in the capital Tunis and several other cities for the second consecutive day, while security forces arrested dozens of young people. The disturbances came as the country faced an unprecedented economic crisis and a nationwide lockdown imposed since Thursday as part of efforts to rein in surging coronavirus infections. Internal Security Forces spokesman Walid Hkima said riot police had arrested 242 people, mostly teenagers and children who vandalised property and tried to rob shops and banks overnight and during the day on Sunday in several cities. The protesters made no clear demands in demonstrations – which authorities described as riots – in at least 10 cities around the country. In the run-down Ettadamen area of the capital, protesters – most of them teenagers – blocked roads and threw stones at police. Police fired water cannon and tear gas to disperse them on Sunday. Clashes also spread to the Mnihla area of Tunis. The protests pose a challenge for the government of Hicham Mechichi, who has reshuffled his cabinet amid a continuing battle for political influence. Rural central and southern regions of the country remain flashpoints for rioting. Witnesses told the Reuters news agency that protests were held on Sunday in the central towns of Sbeitla and Kasserine, where police chased the protesters and fired tear gas.

Armed protesters have arrived at multiple state capitol complexes across the country Sunday morning. This follows a special bulletin from the FBI last week that warned: “armed protests” were being planned at 50 state capitols and the US Capitol in Washington, DC, ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20. While the protesters are being identified across various platforms as members of a so-called “boogaloo” movement, they largely appear to be generic anti-government anarchists – some of whom call themselves “liberty boys,” and others who oppose the conservative Proud Boys. However, as Reuters reports, only small gatherings of demonstrators had taken to the streets alongside much larger crowds of law-enforcement officers and media personnel.  Some local news agencies flipped the narrative, proclaiming that the lack of turnout of “domestic terrorists” was due to the outsize presence of National Guardsmen nationwide. So who could blame Americans for not trusting the media or the government? While the January 6, 2021 incident at the U.S. Capitol was widely covered in news media, the type of language used to describe it varied greatly from publication to publication. The influence of news media on how the public perceives events is undeniable. In fact, 88% of surveyed Americans consider the news an essential tool to keep informed about public affairs. From a riot caused by rioters to an insurrection by President Trump’s militant supporters, the way different media outlets analyze the U.S. Capitol incident impacts what their respective audiences take away from it.

Guatemala forces stall migrant caravan with tear gas, batons

Migrant caravan demands Biden administration ‘honors its commitments’

Guatemalan soldiers and police had blocked part of a caravan of as many as 9,000 Honduran migrants Saturday night at a point not far from where they entered the country, seeking to reach the U.S. border. Guatemalan police and soldiers launched tear gas and wielded batons and shields against a group of Honduran migrants that tried to push through their roadblock early Sunday. A group of about 2,000 migrants had stopped short of the roadblock the night before. The roadblock was strategically placed at a chokepoint on the two-lane highway to Chiquimula in an area known as Vado Hondo.  Some 100 migrants tried to make their way through authorities around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The security forces beat them back and deployed tear gas. None made it through and the larger remaining contingent kept its distance during the melee. Some migrants were visibly injured by baton strikes. One man, who did not give his name, leaned against a wall near police with a bandage atop his head. “We want to start a dialogue with you, to ask you to accept some of the needs of the Guatemalan people right now,” Rodriguez said, in apparent reference to President Alejandro Giammattei’s refusal to allow caravans through out of fear they could spread COVID-19. Governments throughout the region have made it clear they will not let the caravan through.

We crossed a line that should have never been crossed when we sent “stimulus payments” directly to the American people during the very early stages of the COVID pandemic.  Even many Republicans that supported the measure acknowledged that what they were doing was pure socialism, but they defended the payments by insisting that we were in the middle of a major national emergency.  At the time, I warned that once the government started issuing such checks, the American people would always keep demanding more.  Sadly, we have now reached that point. And this comes at a time when tens of millions of Americans are in desperate need because the real economy continues to implode all around us.
***As more and more stimulus payments are forthcoming, because the economy is collapsing due to “Covid”, the American people will become dependent on a “universal income”.  From there it will be a short hop to centralized bank digital currencies- in order “for everyone to get their money quickly and securely.”

Pan issued a statement Sunday recommending providers pause the administration of lot 41L20A of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine due to possible allergic reactions that are being investigated. “Our goal is to provide the COVID vaccine safely, swiftly and equitably,” Pan said in a statement. “A higher-than-usual number of possible allergic reactions were reported with a specific lot of Moderna vaccine administered at one community vaccination clinic.” The clinic is located in San Diego, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, and fewer than 10 people required medical attention. More than 33,000 doses from this lot were provided to 287 providers across the state. The shipments arrived in California between Jan. 5 and 12, according to the California Department of Public Health. “Out of an extreme abundance of caution and also recognizing the extremely limited supply of vaccine, we are recommending that providers use other available vaccine inventory and pause the administration of vaccines from Moderna Lot 041L20A until the investigation by the CDC, FDA, Moderna and the state is complete. We will provide an update as we learn more,” Pan said in the statement.

A new strain of the coronavirus – different from the highly contagious UK variant – has appeared in California, where the total number of cases approaches 3 million, according to a report. The state’s Department of Public Health said it’s unclear whether the variant, which has popped up in a dozen counties, is highly contagious or is just being identified more frequently as lab work becomes increasingly sophisticated, the LA Times reported. Researchers have linked the strain to several large outbreaks in Santa Clara County, according to the newspaper. “This virus continues to mutate and adapt, and we cannot let down our guard,” Dr. Sara Cody, Santa Clara County health officer and director of the Public Health Department, said in a statement. The Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines train the immune system to target the spike protein — which means that, theoretically, the mutations could alter the spike protein in a way that decreases the jabs’ effectiveness, according to the LA Times.

Tropical Cyclone “Kimi” to make landfall over Queensland, Australia

Tropical Cyclone “Kimi” formed at 02:10 UTC on January 17, 2021, as the 3rd named storm of the 2020/21 Australian region cyclone season. Kimi is moving slowly south of the north tropical Queensland coast and is expected to turn southwest tonight (LT) and cross the north tropical coast on Monday, January 18 (LT). At 05:00 UTC on January 17, Kimi was located about 135 km (84 miles) E of Cooktown and 175 km (84 miles) NNE of Cairns. Maximum sustained winds near the center were 75 km/h (45 mph) with wind gusts to 100 km/h (62 mph). The storm was moving south at 9 km/h (6 mph). “Kimi has been moving slowly south through today, but is expected to turn more to the southwest tonight (LT) and cross the north tropical coast on Monday, January 18 (LT),” BOM said. “There remains considerable uncertainty with the crossing time and location. The system may intensify further over the next 24 hours and may reach category 2 before crossing.”

Regional ramifications as Trump seeks to include Israel in CENTCOM

In one of his final acts as his term in office comes to an end, President Donald Trump ordered that Israel be included in CENTCOM, the major U.S. military command for the Middle East, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The expansion of the U.S. Central Command to include Israel is a last-minute reorganization that pro-Israel advocates have been pushing for in order to encourage strategic cooperation against Iran, American officials told the paper. For decades Israel had been part of the U.S. military’s European Command, mostly due to the historical friction between Israel and the Arab countries who are also American allies in the region that CENTCOM covers. That changed when the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed peace agreements with Israel, followed by Sudan and Morocco. CENTCOM maintains major U.S. military bases in both the UAE and Bahrain. There is a potential issue on the horizon. If Israel is in CENTCOM and Israel is accused of airstrikes in Syria or Iraq it will also reflect more on CENTCOM than on EUCOM in Europe. The plausible deniability for Israel’s alleged strikes in Syria or Iraq in the past has worked in CENTCOM’s favor. CENTCOM was concerned that Iranian-backed forces might target the US if they viewed the US as complicit in the airstrikes. Media in Iraq fed this rumor, claiming that the US had carried out various airstrikes. The US denied they had a role.

ECB’s Lagarde Calls For Global Regulation Of “Reprehensible” Bitcoin

President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde has called for global regulations on Bitcoin, labeling the cryptocurrency “reprehensible.” Lagarde made the comments during a Reuters Next conference earlier today, during which she asserted that Bitcoin was not a currency. “(Bitcoin) has conducted some funny business and some interesting and totally reprehensible money laundering activity,” said Lagarde. The ECB head went on to call for Bitcoin to be regulated by financial authorities. “There has to be regulation. This has to be applied and agreed upon […] at a global level because if there is an escape that escape will be used,” she said. Globalists and technocrats have long begrudged Bitcoin because it is decentralized and therefore impossible to come under the control of centralized financial institutions. The cryptocurrency has also provided a refuge for dissidents who have been deplatformed by regular financial services and institutions over their politics.

Tech coalition working to create digital COVID-19 vaccination passport

A coalition of health and technology organizations are working to develop a digital COVID-19 vaccination passport to allow businesses, airlines and countries to check if people have received the vaccine. The Vaccination Credential Initiative, announced on Thursday, is formulating technology to confirm vaccinations in the likelihood that some governments will mandate people provide proof of their shots in order to enter the nation. The organization hopes the technology will allow people to “demonstrate their health status to safely return to travel, work, school and life while protecting their data privacy.” The initiative, which includes members like Microsoft, Oracle and U.S. nonprofit Mayo Clinic, is using the work from member Commons Project’s international digital document that verifies a person has tested negative for COVID-19, the Financial Times reported.  The Commons Project’s technology, created in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation, is being utilized by three major airline alliances. The coalition is reportedly in discussions with several governments to create a program requiring either negative tests or proof of vaccination to enter, Paul Meyer, the chief executive of The Commons Project, told the Times.

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake on Indonesia’s Sulawesi island killed at least seven people, injured hundreds and damaged many buildings on Friday, the country’s disaster mitigation agency said, as panicked residents fled to safer areas. The epicenter of the quake was six kilometers (3.73 miles) northeast of Majene city at a depth of 10 kilometers. Initial information from the country’s disaster mitigation agency showed that four people had died and 637 others were injured in Majene, while there were three more fatalities and two dozen injured in the neighboring area of Mamuju.

Palestinian and Israeli forces trade attacks in southern Gaza

On Wednesday, the borders of the Gaza Strip witnessed a round of mutual bombardment between the Israeli army and the Palestinian forces. The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said via his Twitter account that an Israeli tank had bombed two Hamas sites, in response to a double-fire attack on an engineering vehicle belonging to it from the Gaza Strip. Adraee said the Israeli vehicle was carrying out a leveling operation at the western end of the security fence at the southern end of the Gaza Strip. The spokesman stated that the cause of the attack resulted in material damage, without causing any casualties.

Jordan, Egypt could join Quartet’s Mideast peace drive

 Jordan and Egypt are emerging as potential new members of the international Quartet for Mideast peace after the foreign ministers of both countries joined a meeting of the multilateral forum in Cairo on Monday. The Quartet consisting of the UN, the EU, the US and Russia was set up in 2002 to help mediate Middle East peace negotiations. Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki were invited by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to attend the meeting, which included French Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, according to a statement by Jordan’s Foreign Ministry. Oraib Rantawi, director of the Al-Quds Center for Political Studies, told Arab News that the idea of adding Jordan and Egypt to the Quartet had been discussed by the Obama-Biden administration. “Although the issue was discussed in the last days of the Obama administration, I don’t think that it will be decided until the Biden administration takes over and begins to make its position public,” he said. Rantawi said that Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the UAE also may be invited to participate.

Large Soleimani Statue Erected In Beirut Stirs Outrage, Divides Lebanese

A newly erected large bronze statue of slain Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in the middle of the Lebanese capital Beirut is driving outrage and division, causing deepening rifts in the population over the role of Hezbollah and Iranian influence in the country. In the days following the unveiling ceremony the statue created a social media storm of controversy. Many Lebanese, mostly critics of Hezbollah, took to social media to lambast the celebration of a foreign military leader in Lebanon’s capital. Much criticism has naturally centered on the fact that the Soleimani statue represents the presence and influence of a foreign power on Lebanese soil. However the small Mediterranean country has long been subject of foreign meddling in recent history, including the Saudis, Syrians, Israel, and the US – not to mention the French Mandate period in the 20th century. Soleimani’s face has become iconic throughout the Middle East, representing “resistance” to US and Israeli designs on the region.

Israeli airstrikes near Syria-Iraq border targeted Iranian weapons

Alleged Israeli airstrikes targeted dozens of sites in the Deir Ezzor region of eastern Syria and in Albukamal near the Syria-Iraq border on Tuesday night. The strikes targeted dozens of warehouses and sites belonging to pro-Iranian militias and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) throughout the area, according to local news source Deir Ezzor 24. The Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen news cited a security source in Baghad who stated that no casualties were caused as the sites that were targeted were evacuated beforehand, but reported as well that ambulances rushed to the scene to transport people who were wounded in the strikes. Regional media described the strikes as some of the largest and most intense strikes in eastern Syria in recent years. Images from the area showed a number of buildings completely destroyed after the strikes. According to the Step News Agency, strikes by unidentified aircraft, believed to be affiliated with the international coalition, targeted sites belonging to the IRGC in Albukamal as well on Tuesday. This is the third alleged Israeli airstrike reported in Syria in the past three weeks.

On January 8, ISIS terrorists launched a large attack on government forces in the eastern countryside of Hama. After a series of clashes with the Syrian Army and pro-government militias, terrorists captured a number of positions near the towns of Rahjan and al-Shakusiyah. As of January 12, ISIS cells retreated from these positions under pressure from the army. Nonetheless, at least 19 government troops and 12 ISIS members were killed in the clashes. Meanwhile in the eastern countryside of Homs, ISIS cells destroyed a pickup of the al-Quds Brigade, a Palestinian pro-government group, with an improvised explosive device. These developments coincided with some strikes by some ‘mysterious aircraft’ that once again bombed Turkish-linked oil smugglers in northern Aleppo. This time the infrastructure of the smugglers was destroyed near the village of Tarhin. The situation in neighboring Iraq is also not stable. Just on January 9, 3 supply convoys of the US-led coalition became targets of IED attacks in the central and southern regions of the country.

Iran is the “new home base” of al-Qaeda, says Pompeo

Iran has given a new operational headquarters to al-Qaeda, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Tuesday. He added that the Islamic Republic is “the new home base” for the terror group. “Tehran gives sanctuary to the terror group’s senior leaders as they plan attacks against America and our allies,” Pompeo added. He noted that since 2015, “Tehran has allowed al-Qaida figures in the country to freely communicate with other al-Qaeda members and perform many functions that were previously directed from Afghanistan and Pakistan, including authorization for attacks, propaganda, and fundraising.” Pompeo went on to say that the Iran-al-Qaeda axis poses a grave threat to the security of nations and to the American homeland itself. The outgoing secretary of state announced that the administration is designating two Iran-based al-Qaeda leaders, Muhammad Abbatay and Sultan Yusuf Hasan al-‘Arif as Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

C.African Rebels Repelled In Closest Attack Yet To Capital

Rebel forces in the Central African Republic on Wednesday mounted their closest attack yet to the capital Bangui before being pushed back with the loss of a peacekeeper, the United Nations said. The UN’s MINUSCA peacekeeping mission said Wednesday’s attack was “repelled by Blue Helmets together with the Central African forces”, adding that a Rwandan peacekeeper was killed. The UN force’s spokesman Abdoulaziz Fall said the attack occurred at a MINUSCA position 12 kilometres (seven miles) from the centre of Bangui. “Several rebels were captured, and more than 10 were killed,” he told AFP. Earlier, Interior Minister Henri Wanzet Linguissara said armed groups opposed to President Faustin Archange Touadera carried out two simultaneous raids on Bangui’s outskirts at dawn. Up until Wednesday, the rebels had carried out sporadic attacks in towns far from the capital and on the RN3 highway, the crucial supply line linking Bangui with neighbouring Cameroon. Some analysts suggested the latest assaults could point to a change in tactics. “What the rebels have understood is that the international community gauges the crisis in CAR on what happens in Bangui,” Roland Marchal, a specialist at the Centre for International Research at Paris’s Sciences-Po university, told AFP. “This is why they are carrying out attacks on the immediate outskirts of Bangui — not to take Bangui, which is strongly defended, but to demonstrate that Touadera no longer controls anything, or only very little.”

Digital Euro Could Happen ‘Within Five Years’: Lagarde

A digital euro should be a reality within five years, European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde said Wednesday. “It’s going to take a good chunk of time to make sure it’s safe,” Lagarde told an online forum organised by Reuters, adding “I would hope that it’s no more than five (years).” “There is a demand” for a digital currency, she added, but that there is a “need to have a system that is secure” and where risks such as hacking are addressed. “We’re moving on, we are not charging on.” Lagarde set a similar timeframe to China which launched a pilot scheme in 2020 and is edging closer to launching the world’s first sovereign digital currency. The comments came as the ECB concluded a consultation on the digital currency, which registered more than 8,000 respondents, according to the Frankfurt-based bank. A digital euro would be an electronic form of central-bank money, which proponents say will allow for faster and cheaper payments as they cut out the administration and the high costs needed in traditional banking.

Claim: 750 Christians Massacred By Ethiopian Forces At Major Church In Tigray

Because of the remote location and practical media blackout enforced by the government, information has only emerged in small amounts about the ongoing Tigrayan conflict in Ethiopia and Eritrea. So far thousands have died and millions have been displaced. Now according to Eritrea Hub, a claim has emerged that 750 Christians were massacred by government troops at St. Mary of Zion Church, one of the major churches for Ethiopian Orthodox Christians. On Tuesday, 15th of December, Ethiopian federal troops and Amhara militia approached the Mariam of Zion cathedral in the Tigrayan city of Aksum. It is possible that they thought that Tigrayan troops were sheltering in the church – taking advantage of the ancient right of sanctuary. According to a number of sources the church was full, with some saying that up to 1,000 people were in the building or the compound surrounding it. The advancing soldiers caused consternation: a chapel in the compound is believed by Ethiopians to house the biblical Ark of the Covenant. A confrontation ensued. Everyone in the compound was forced into the square outside the cathedral. As the crowd milled around, there was further shouting and the troops opened fire on the protesting crowd. As many as 750 people are reported to have been killed. News of the massacre has only gradually reached the outside world. People walked over 200 kilometres to the regional capital, Mekelle, and from there the story gradually filtered out – despite the clamp-down on the media in Tigray.

The new order takes effect in two weeks. The CDC order applies to U.S. citizens as well as foreign travelers. The new restrictions require air passengers to get a COVID-19 test within three days of their flight to the U.S., and to provide written proof of the test result to the airline. Travelers can also provide documentation that they had the infection in the past and recovered. Airlines are ordered to stop passengers from boarding if they don’t have proof of a negative test. Meanwhile, an English police force is using license plate recognition technology to monitor drivers and make sure they are only making “essential” journeys during the third coronavirus lockdown.

A bright fireball exploded over Norway at 23:21 UTC on January 4, 2021 (00:21 LT, January 5), producing a loud bang that was heard by many people, particularly those in Ullensaker. Norwegian Seismic Array (NORSAR) said ground impact was recorded at 23:24 UTC, 15 to 20 km (9 – 12.4 miles) S of their measuring station at Løten. On Tuesday, residents in Norway reported a bright fireball with a loud bang as the object entered the atmosphere. The sound was heard by people in the municipality of Ullensaker. According to the Norwegian meteor network, the object traveled at a speed of 50 000 km/h (31 000 mph). The meteor penetrated very far into the atmosphere and gave a fairly powerful bang, an indicator that meteorites have fallen to the ground, said Steinar Midtskogen with the meteor network. “The signal came from a southern direction and coincides with reports of sound heard by people in Ullensaker municipality,” NORSAR wrote in a press release.

Alleged Israeli airstrike reported in southern Syria

An alleged Israeli airstrike targeted locations in southern Syria as explosions were heard in the skies over Damascus on Wednesday night, according to Syrian state media SANA. The strikes were launched from the Golan Heights, a Syrian military source told SANA, claiming that most of the incoming missiles were intercepted by Syrian air defenses. Footage on Syrian state television reportedly showed a multi-story building on fire due to the strike. The opposition-affiliated Halab Today TV reported that more than five strikes targeted sites near the First Division of the Syrian military in the Al-Kiswah area, south of Damascus. The Syrian Step News Agency reported that the strikes also targeted Iranian militia sites in Al-Dimass, located west of Damascus near the Lebanese-Syrian border, and Sahnaya, located south of Damascus. This is the third alleged Israeli airstrike reported in Syria in the past two weeks.

Israel’s prime minister on Monday directed authorities to approve construction of 800 new homes for Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank, days before US President Donald Trump’s strongly pro-Israel administration departs office. The move also comes as internal political jockeying intensifies ahead of the Jewish state’s own election, its fourth in two years, following the collapse of a fractious coalition between right-wing premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his centrist Defence Minister Benny Gantz. The settlement announcement came a day after Gantz opposed plans to legalise under Israeli law a series of settlement outposts, which, given his control of the defence portfolio, in effect takes this proposal — one that has strong appeal for right-wing voters — off the table. Settler leaders meanwhile accused Gantz of intending to push ahead with retrospectively legalising under Israeli law Palestinian construction in Israeli-controlled parts of the West Bank.

Houthis Vow to Respond to US Terrorist Designation

The Yemeni government welcomed on Monday the decision by the United States government to classify the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization.
The United States will designate Yemen’s Houthi rebels as a terrorist group, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday, a late-term move that aid groups fear will worsen a humanitarian crisis. With just 10 days left before President-elect Joe Biden takes office, the action could complicate the new administration’s efforts to restart diplomacy with Iran, which has ties with the Houthis, and to reassess the US relationship with Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs said in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency Saba, that after six years of war and the imposition of numerous sanctions against individuals, the government believed that efforts to intensify all political and legal pressures on the Houthis should continue in order to create reach a political solution to the conflict.

Protests against Iraqi govt continue for 4th consecutive day

A policeman was killed and dozens of people injured Sunday in clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters in southern Iraq, multiple security officials said. They said the clashes erupted in Haboubi square in the town of Nasiriyah in violence that began over the arrest of activists in the province. Security forces used tear gas and batons in effort to disperse the protesters who threw stones and rocks at security forces. Occasional gunfire could be heard.
It was not immediately clear how the policeman was killed amid conflicting reports. The officials said at least 18 protesters were injured and more than 40 among the security forces.

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards unveiled an underground missile base at an undisclosed Gulf location on Friday, Iranian state media reported, at a time of heightened tension between Tehran and the United States. “The base is one of several bases housing the Guards’ Navy’s strategic missiles,” the state media quoted the head of the Guards, Major General Hossein Salami, as saying. Meanwhile, The spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Abul Fadl Amoui, announced that his country is working on designing a nuclear reactor similar to the Arak heavy water reactor. “During today’s meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, they discussed how to implement the Strategic Procedure Law to abolish the embargo and protect the rights of the people,” Amoui said in an interview with the Fars News Agency. On Sunday, Iran revealed that it would increase its uranium enrichment, unless the United States ended its economic blockade and sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

Armenian Leader Says Karabakh Conflict Unresolved

President Vladimir Putin hosted the heads of the two former Soviet states for a rare trilateral meeting and urged them to negotiate further steps in a November peace agreement that ended weeks of fierce clashes over disputed Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh was still not resolved as he met the leader of his country’s arch foe Azerbaijan in Moscow on Monday. But Pashinyan insisted Monday that key issues surrounding the conflict were in limbo and needed to be resolved immediately. Pashinyan said several issues remained unresolved including the question of the future status of Karabakh, an ethnic Armenian enclave recognised internationally as part of Azerbaijan. The three leaders issued a joint statement on the Kremlin website announcing the creation of a trilateral working group to oversee the “unblocking of all economic and transport links” in the region. The group will be jointly chaired by deputy prime ministers from the three countries and will hold its first meeting before January 30, the statement said.

Kim Jong-un pledges to expand North Korea’s nuclear arsenal

In his latest address to the Workers’ Party – only the eighth congress in its history – Mr Kim said Pyongyang did not intend to use its nuclear weapons unless “hostile forces” were planning to use them against North Korea first. Addressing a rare congress of his ruling Workers’ Party, Mr Kim also pledged to expand North Korea’s nuclear weapons arsenal and military potential. He said that plans for a nuclear submarine were almost complete. He said the US was his country’s “biggest obstacle for our revolution and our biggest enemy… no matter who is in power, the true nature of its policy against North Korea will never change,” state news agency KCNA reported. His speech outlined a list of desired weapons including long-range ballistic missiles capable of being launched from land or sea and “super-large warheads”. North Korea has managed to significantly advance its arsenal despite being subject to strict economic sanctions.

China Threatens ‘Counterstrike’ Over US Contact With Taiwan

China on Monday threatened a “counterstrike” against a move by the United States to lift restrictions on official contacts with Taiwan as military tensions grow between Beijing and the self-ruled island. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Saturday Washington would lift “complex internal restrictions” on contacts with Taipei by diplomats, after a year of mounting US-Chinese friction on topics including human rights, trade and the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. Beijing says Taiwan is an inviolable part of China to be reclaimed, by force if necessary, and opposes any diplomatic recognition of the democratic island. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said Beijing “strongly condemns” the move and accused the United States of violating the terms of Washington’s diplomatic relations with Beijing. “Any action that harms China’s core interests will receive a resolute counterstrike from China,” Zhao warned, urging Pompeo to retract the decision or face “severe punishment”.

Global food prices reached a six-year high in December and are likely to keep rising into 2021, adding to pressure on household budgets while hunger surges around the world. A United Nations gauge of food prices has jumped 18% since May, as adverse weather, government measures to safeguard supplies and robust demand helped fuel rallies across agricultural commodities from grains to palm oil. Prices will likely climb further, the UN’s Food & Agriculture Organization said. The spike threatens to push up broader inflation, making it harder for central banks to provide more stimulus to shore up economies, while stirring memories of food-price crises a decade ago. It’s bad news for consumers whose incomes have been hurt by the Covid-19 crisis, and adds to concerns about global food security that’s being affected by conflicts and weather shocks. The FAO’s food price index has risen for the past seven months, with annual prices capping the highest average in three years. Still, costs remain well below peaks in 2008 and 2011, when soaring prices caused political and economic instability around the world and grain-export bans tightened supply.

Without Freedom Of Speech, What Is Going To Happen To America?

It is quite ironic that many of those that are always telling us that we need “diversity” in our society are also some of the strongest voices against a “diversity of viewpoints” on social media.  The founders of this nation wanted to make sure that nobody would ever take the right to freedom of speech away from us, and that is why it was enshrined in the Bill of Rights.  Unfortunately, courts have greatly eroded that right over the last several decades, and now we are facing an all-out assault on freedom of speech that is unlike anything that we have ever seen before.  And once freedom of speech is completely gone, all of our other rights will soon follow, because there will no longer be any way to defend them. Needless to say, if we stay on the path that we are currently on there is no future for America. Without free speech, the system of government that our founders established simply won’t work. What is the point of even having elections if we can only express one point of view? In China, no dissent is allowed and one political party runs everything on a permanent basis. America appears to be heading in the same direction, and there are millions of people in this country that are actually quite thrilled that this is happening.

Intense cold waves bring rare snowfall to Taiwan

Hundreds of families have been displaced after an EF-1 tornado swept through Texas City at 18:13 CST on January 6, 2021 (00:13 UTC, January 7). Residents described the storm as ‘quick and horrifying.’ The National Weather Service (NWS) Houston placed the tornado on the higher end of EF-1 rating with maximum sustained wind speeds likely around 175 km/h (110 mph). This is still preliminary data and subject to change pending final review. The tornado was on the ground for about 1 minute, it had a path of 1.1 km (0.7 miles) and a maximum path width of 45 m (50 yards). “The most significant damage was to a convenience store near that intersection and the adjacent Tradewinds Apartments complex,” NWS meteorologist Dan Reilly noted. A clear relatively narrow path was seen in the severe damage. Although most debris was pushed toward the east dirt and insulation was found splattered on all sides of many structures including the east downwind side. Damage at a business on 6th street north was also surveyed.

Heavy snowfall fell across wide areas of the country, forcing some prefectures to request the Ground Self-Defense Force’s help in rescue operations. Hokuriku region received a record amount of snowfall on Friday, January 8, some of it falling in a matter of hours. In 3 hours, parts of Hokuriku registered at least 15 cm (5.9 inches) of snow. In just 12 hours, Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, received 59 cm (1.9 feet), Toyama 48 cm (1.5 feet) — the highest ever for the capital of the prefecture. As of 09:00 LT on January 8, the snow cover in Himi was 6 times more than in an average year and 5.5 times more in Asahi, The Asahi Shimbun reported. Meanwhile, A cold snap has gripped South Korea, bringing more than 0.3 m (1 foot) of snow and prompting a cold warning in Seoul for the first time in 57 years on Thursday. More than 0.3 m (1 foot) of snow fell in many areas, including mountainous regions on Jeju.

‎Sudan says it signed ‘Abraham Accords’ with US

Sudan on Wednesday said it signed the “Abraham Accords” with the US, paving the way for the African country to normalize ties with Israel.
A statement from the office of Sudan’s prime minister said Justice Minister Nasredeen Abdulbari signed the accord Wednesday with visiting US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. The signing came just over two months after Trump announced that Sudan would start to normalize ties with Israel. The move came during Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s visit to Khartoum, making him the first senior American official to land there since President Donald Trump’s administration removed the African country from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. The two countries, Sudan and Israel, have agreed to have full diplomatic ties, making Sudan the third Arab state — after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain — to move to normalize relations with Israel late last year. Morocco also established diplomatic ties with Israel.

Breakthrough in Saudi-Qatar dispute was short of reconciliation

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt signed a declaration calling for solidarity and stability at the Gulf Council summit on Tuesday. This statement ended the three and-half-year embargo which the three allies had imposed on Qatar for harboring Islamist terrorists and warm relations with Tehran. Although Qatar stuck to its guns on most disputed issues, Riyadh ended the sea and air blockade and invited the Qatari ruler to join the summit. Full reconciliation was held in abeyance.
Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner shuttled across the region in a bid to engineer an end to this dispute. This initiative rounded off the normalization of Arab-Israel relations that was a key component of the Trump blueprint for boxing Iran in from its Gulf neighbors while promoting regional stability.

Thanks to provocative moves by Iran and less-than-coherent actions by the outgoing Trump administration, the president-elect is facing an increasingly uncertain situation when it comes to Iran, a decades-long American nemesis that has been a target of blame for much of the Middle East’s instability. In the past week alone, President Donald Trump’s team has dispatched B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf in response to alleged Iranian attack planning and reversed an order to bring home the USS Nimitz, the only US aircraft carrier in the region. On Monday, Iran not only announced it had resumed advanced uranium enrichment in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal but also seized a South Korean-flagged oil tanker and its crew. On Tuesday, the United States blacklisted a Chinese company that makes elements for steel production, 12 Iranian steel and metals makers and three foreign-based sales agents of a major Iranian metals and mining holding company, seeking to deprive Iran of revenues as US President Donald Trump’s term winds down.  Iran then sent a new request to Interpol to issue an international warrant for US President Donald Trump over ordering a drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani on 3 January 2020. The request also contains warrants for 47 more US officials purportedly involved in the general’s assassination last year. This is the second time Tehran has requested the arrest of Trump and other American officials over their involvement in “murder and terrorism”. On Wednesday, the Iranian Army has launched a large-scale drill involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the northern province of Semnan. This combustible combination coming just two weeks before the president-elect’s inauguration threatens to derail or at least delay Biden’s hopes to return the US to the nuclear accord that Trump withdrew from in 2018.

Algerian lawmaker looks to criminalize promoting peace with Israel

An Algerian lawmaker announced in a social media post that she intends to submit a bill to parliament seeking to criminalize “the… promotion of normalization with the Zionist entity,” referring to Israel, Algerian media outlets reported late last month. This law is based on the positions of the Algerian state that rejects normalization with the Zionist entity, especially since normalization seriously affected the issue of Western Sahara through political bargaining, with commercial justifications and suspicious deals,” she added. If the law is passed, an offender could be “punished by imprisonment from three to 10 years,” and may have their professional accreditations rescinded as a punitive measure. Offenders may also be subject to a fine ranging from 300,000 to one million dinars ($2,273 to $7,619).  The development comes as neighboring nation Morocco announced at the end of December the resumption of its diplomatic relations with the Jewish state via a US-brokered normalization deal.

As of late Tuesday, police had already arrested at least six people for a variety of offenses, including weapons and ammunition possession, possessing a stun gun and assaulting a police officer, authorities said. On Wednesday, Supporters of President Donald Trump at the March to Save America are attempting to breach the U.S. Capitol, breaking through barriers in attempts to occupy the building.

More than 50 of Hong Kong’s most prominent pro-democracy activists and politicians have been arrested in the biggest crackdown since China imposed a draconian security law last year. About 1,000 police took part in morning raids on 72 premises across the city. Those held helped run an unofficial “primary” to pick opposition candidates ahead of postponed 2020 elections. They are accused of trying to “overthrow” the government. Activists say the new law aims to quash dissent. China’s government imposed the legislation on the semi-autonomous territory in June, saying it was necessary to curb months of sometimes violent pro-democracy protests. Beijing defended Wednesday’s arrests, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying saying they were needed to stop “external forces and individuals [colluding] to undermine China’s stability and security”.

Massachusetts Lowers Age To Get an Abortion Without Parental Approval to 16

It is now legal in Massachusetts for 16- and 17-year-olds to get an abortion without parental or judicial permission, after a veto override by the state legislature. Republican Gov. Charlie Baker originally vetoed the law against the unborn on Dec. 24, saying that while he believes in general abortion access, he cannot in good conscience sanction minors consenting to abortion. Massachusetts’ legislature overrode its Republican governor’s veto of a bill on Tuesday that expanded abortion access in a variety of ways, including allowing 16-year-old girls to obtain abortions without parental consent. The state’s Democratic-controlled Senate and House overwhelmingly rejected Baker’s veto. The Senate’s 32-8 vote came just a day after the House’s vote of 107-46. Tuesday’s passage represents another win for Democrats who are seeking to pre-empt a potential Supreme Court decision overturning Roe — a prospect that seemed even more likely with Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Islamic Militants Murder Two Dozen Nigerian Christians over Christmas

Militant jihadists killed at least 24 people, abducted 20 more, and torched a church in two Christmas Eve attacks in northeast Nigeria, the Barnabas Fund reported Tuesday. Islamists believed to belong to Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), an off-shoot of Boko Haram, kidnapped at least 20 Christians on Christmas Eve in Garkida, Adamawa State. The raiders chose five of their prisoners to be lined up and shot in cold blood in a terror attack the jihadists referred to as a “Christmas present” in a video of the event. In their assault, the jihadists also torched homes, shops, cars, and bulldozers, sending the Garkida villagers fleeing. Some of those who fled are still missing. One eyewitness said that the militants entered the town with about five vehicles and began shooting sporadically, and then proceeded to loot and ravage houses and pharmaceutical stores. The attack was just the latest in a string of violent assaults in the country by Islamic terrorists.

Very rare January tornadoes touch down in California

The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Tehama County, California on Monday, January 4, 2021. In the NWS Sacramento forecast area there were 39 tornadoes reported from 2010 – 2020. This works out to about 4 tornadoes a year, making yesterday’s twisters very rare occurrences. Two January tornadoes were also reported in 2017. The first tornado touched down around 21:34 UTC (13:34 LT) near the city of Corning, downing trees and power lines and causing other structural damage. According to NWS Sacramento meteorologist Eric Kurths, reports of additional damage are under investigation, including some reports of Cal Fire-Butte County. The second tornado touched down in the open field near Vina around 21:40 UTC, causing no apparent damage. Multiple photos and videos confirm a tornado in clear contact, NWS said. According to Kurths, the strong line of local thunderstorms may have combined with a high sheer environment which means it helped produce rotational wind energy. The tornado wind speeds may have been in the 105 – 130 km/h (65 – 80 mph) range, he added.

Much of the world may be in store for particularly intense winter weather in the coming weeks, according to a study just released by a team in the United Kingdom. Researchers report a major meteorological event is occurring high in the sky above the North Pole. This sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) event is estimated to occur in early January 2021. What exactly does that mean? The Earth’s stratosphere is a layer of the atmosphere located around six to 30 miles above the ground. Scientists consider an SSW event to be among the most extreme atmospheric phenomena. It usually leads to an atmospheric temperature increase of roughly 122 degrees Fahrenheit within just a few days. SSW events are known to subsequently produce periods of extreme cold weather and intense snow storms. Most recently, an SSW in 2018 called the “Beast from the East” brought heavy snowfall to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and much of Europe.

‎On September ‎2017, I  put on a prophecy seminar at Trinity Nazarene Church in Lompoc Ca.  In that seminar I showed my video on the coming Third Jewish Temple Jesus Christ warned us about. If you do not know what our Lord prophesied about this Third Temple here are four places in the bible that address this coming Temple.  

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:  and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate” (Daniel 9:27).  Just so you know, the sacrifices and oblation are done in the Temple.  Jesus refers to the Daniel prophecy below.

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)” (Matthew 24:15).

“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:4).

“And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months” (Revelation 11:1-2). 

In my prophecy seminar in 2017, I warned the people at Trinity that there would be coming  a lot of talk about building the Third Temple in the near future.  Since that seminar this last days prophecy about the coming Third Temple has sped up. The talk about building the Temple sped up so much I had to up-date the information on the coming Third Temple. On Mar 7, 2019 I posted my video on the coming Temple to my YouTube channel.  Since March of 2019, there have been even more signs we are getting very close to witnessing Israel building that Third Temple.  If you are new to this prophecy I suggest you watch my 2019, video below and my video on the signing of the Abraham According between Israel and the UAE.  Daniel talked about a covenant between Israel and many people which are the Islamic people. Since the signing of that new Abraham Accord one Islamic nation another are making peace with Israel!  Anyone who understand bible prophecy understands how huge these end times signs are.  Before you watch those videos below here are some new reports showing us the signs that things are changing over the Temple Mount issue.  Keep in mind for years the Arabs have been keeping the Jews from going up to the Temple Mount area where the first and second Temple once sound.  However, as I have been warning for years the Jews are now starting to make there way up that that Temple Mount area.

“A new Member of Knesset, a resident of the Golan, firmly established his political path with a powerful act of faith by praying on the Temple Mount. Likud won 36 seats In the last elections but recent infighting led to longtime Likudnik Gideon Sa’ar breaking away to form his own party. Rather than weaken the party, the move allowed new and enthusiastic members to step into the breach.  Nissim Vaturi, as the 40th candidate on the Likud list, stepped up, representing a unique and necessary voice in the government. Sworn in two weeks ago, Vaturi made a bold declaration of his intentions by ascending to the Temple Mount on Sunday and praying.  “On the merit of this act, may we merit full Redemption and may we merit redeeming this place for the Shechina (holy presence) to dwell, and to build the Holy Temple quickly and in our days.”

NOT THE ONLY ONE

Vaturi is the second Likud Knesset member to not only enter the Temple Mount, but to call for the construction of the third Temple this month. Earlier in December, Israel365News reported that fellow Likud parliamentarian Amit Halevi lit Chanukah candles on Tuesday outside of the Temple Mount and said that step-by-step, Israel is getting closer to the Temple.  Vaturi then recited the ‘Shehecheyanu” blessing which is recited upon auspicious and joyous occasions. “It is the right of every Jew to be able to go anywhere in the Holy Land, especially in the Holy city of Jerusalem, this place where we were before anyone else.”

I post this type of news connecting bible prophecy with current events not to scare anyone but to warn them as to what Jesus said to look for in those last days.  If we are witnessing all the last days signs Jesus said would take place all at the same time then why wait to take Christ as your savior.? After all that is why Jesus gave us so much information about what to look for in the days prior to His second coming. It is sad to see so many people are not ready for what is coming on this generation.  Keep in mind, Jesus in Matthew chapter 24 told us the following: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”

10 injured in explosion near Lebanon-Syria border

Some 10 people were injured after explosions were reported at a gas storage warehouse in the town of Al-Qasr in northeastern Lebanon near the Lebanese-Syrian border on Sunday evening, according to Lebanese media. The explosion occurred while Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah was speaking to mark the anniversary of the assassination of former IRGC Quds Force commander Qassam Soleimani. Intense flights of IDF aircraft were reported by Lebanese media over southern and central Lebanon throughout the afternoon and evening, including when the explosion occurred. Hezbollah has been accused of smuggling goods and dollars from Lebanon into Syria and harming the Lebanese economy, as well as smuggling weapons from Syria into Lebanon. According to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, the warehouse where the explosion took place on Sunday is owned by a person who is close with Hezbollah. A Fars Air Qeshm flight landed in Damascus from Iran on Sunday morning and returned to Tehran on Sunday afternoon, according to civilian flight tracking sites. The airline is suspected of being used to smuggle weapons from Iran to Syria and Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia to reopen airspace, land border to Qatar, says Kuwait

Saudi Arabia will reopen its airspace and land and sea border to Qatar as of Monday, Kuwait’s foreign minister said in televised comments, citing a deal towards resolving a political dispute that led Riyadh and its allies to impose a boycott on Qatar. Saudi state agency SPA quoted Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as saying the annual gathering of Gulf leaders would unite Gulf ranks “in the face of challenges facing the region”. Kuwait’s foreign minister said a declaration would be signed at the summit, which was postponed from its usual December date as Riyadh pushed for an agreement towards ending the rift. Doha had been given 13 demands, ranging from closing Al Jazeera television and shuttering a Turkish base to cutting links to the Muslim Brotherhood and downgrading ties with Iran. Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, joined by Middle East envoy Avi Berkowitz and Brian Hook, a special State Department adviser, were flying to the Saudi Arabia to attend the signing ceremony, a senior Trump administration official said.

At least 15 killed in Syria road attack

Gunmen killed at least 15 people in Syria, mostly government soldiers traveling on a bus in the second such road ambush in recent days, a war monitor said Monday. The ambush late Sunday resulted in the deaths of eight soldiers, four allied fighters and three civilians, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, updating an earlier toll. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the monitor said the Daesh group was to blame. Another 15 people were wounded, with cars and fuel tankers also attacked, in the Wadi Al-Azib area of Hama province. Syria’s official news agency SANA said the “terrorist attack” killed nine people, all civilians. Last week, the IS group said it ambushed a bus on December 30 in Syria’s eastern Deir Ezzor province, killing at least 37 soldiers.

Iran resumes 20% uranium enrichment, seizes South Korean tanker

Iran has resumed the production of 20% enriched uranium at its underground nuclear facility in Fordow, an Iranian government spokesman said Monday. Iranian state media later reported that authorities had seized a South Korean-flagged tanker and arrested its crew, alleging “oil pollution” in the Persian Gulf. The news comes amid heightened U.S. fears of a possible Iranian attack, one year after the assassination of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani. 20% enriched uranium — which is banned under the 2015 nuclear deal — can’t be used for military purposes, but is a step closer to the 90% enrichment needed to build a nuclear bomb. The announcement come less than three weeks before Biden assumes office, and is perceived as an Iranian attempt to pressure the new administration to move quickly toward rejoining the nuclear deal and easing sanctions.

National Guard Activated to Help Support Police During Pro-Trump Protests

Some 100 National Guardsmen will be in Washington this week to help support police officers patrolling protests planned by President Donald Trump supporters this week. “We have received confirmation that the D.C. National Guard will be assisting the Metropolitan Police Department, beginning tomorrow through the life cycle of this event,” Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee III told reporters at a press conference on Monday. National Guard personnel will be assisting police officers with crowd management and traffic control, freeing officers “to focus on anyone who’s intent on instigating, agitating, or participating in violence in our city,” he added. Bowser said guardsmen would not be armed and would not be engaged in domestic surveillance, searches, or seizures of Americans. Pro-Trump ralliers plan on gathering in D.C. this week to protest during the counting of electoral votes. The main locations police expect people to gather are the U.S. Capitol, Freedom Plaza, and the Ellipse near the White House.

The First Country To Move To A 100% Digital Monetary System Is… Venezuela

Venezuela’s government is planning to move to a fully digital economy as hyperinflation has made worthless bolivar notes practically disappear, and dollarization expands through the local financial system. As Bloomberg reports, some banks have had technical meetings with Venezuela’s central bank in an attempt to solve the problem amid high skepticism and caution due to U.S. sanctions. But Maduro vowed to create “payment formats” allowing transactions using savings and checking accounts in U.S. dollars, which is especially bizarre since Venezuela has been technically cut off from SWIFT and so Caracas may have no choice but to become the world’s first fully digital monetary regime. And yet, comedy or not, central banks the world over will be closely watching to see just how Venezuela will screw up this experiment of becoming the world’s first fully digital economy, because as we have been warning for a while: digital currencies – under the protective umbrella of the so-called ISO 20022 – are coming to every broke country near you in the next 12-24 months.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver closes Congress’ opening prayer with ‘amen and awoman’

A House Democrat tasked with leading the body in an opening prayer for the new Congress has gendered the word “amen.” To close a prayer he delivered from the House chamber Sunday to mark the swearing in of the 117th Congress, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), an ordained minister, altered the traditional “amen” to say “amen and awoman.” “May the Lord lift up the light of his countenance upon us and give us peace,” Cleaver said during his two-minute invocation, “peace in our families, peace across this land, and dare I ask, o Lord, peace even in this chamber.” “We ask it in the name of the monotheistic God, Brahma (a Hindu deity), and ‘God’ known by many names by many different faiths. Amen and awoman.” While Cleaver may have been trying to be inclusive to women, “amen” is not a gendered word. The word translates from Hebrew to mean “so be it.”

Controversial Bill Gates-funded plan to dim the sun’s rays moves forward quietly

A bizarre-sounding plan to save Earth funded by tech guru Bill Gates is “quietly” moving forward. The plan — to dim the sun’s rays and their impact on the earth — is reportedly all in the name of helping to revitalize the environment and thus save the human race. The billionaire philanthropist is set on saving the Earth no matter the cost. “While you may have been paying attention to [Gates’] efforts on vaccination and lockdowns, you may not have noticed that one of Gates’ most controversial causes just got a go-ahead: A project that would help block out the sun,” the Western Journal’s Douglas Golden wrote.  Reuters reported that the geo-engineering plan — a Harvard University project funded largely by Gates— “plans to test out a controversial theory that global warming can be stopped by spraying particles into the atmosphere that would reflect the sun’s rays.” The news organization reported that the Swedish Space Corporation has already taken strides in testing out the theory. In a small step, the Swedish Space Corporation agreed this week to help Harvard researchers launch a balloon near the Arctic town of Kiruna next June. It would carry a gondola with 600 kg of scientific equipment 20 km (12 miles) high. “The idea is simple: spray a bunch of particles into the stratosphere, and they will cool the planet by reflecting some of the Sun’s rays back into space,” Nature’s Jeff Tollefson wrote in 2018. “Scientists have already witnessed the principle in action.”

“Bomb Cyclone” Detonates Over Alaska’s Aleutian Islands Unleashing Hurricane Force Winds

A monster storm explosively intensified in the northern Pacific near Alaska’s Aleutian Islands on New Year’s Eve, battering the region with hurricane-force winds, heavy seas, and torrential rains, according to Reuters. “It’s the most intense storm ever recorded in the North Pacific, excluding typhoons,” said Brian Brettschneider, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientist with the National Weather Service (NWS).  The storm is classified as a “bomb cyclone” after meteorologists recorded barometric pressure of 921 millibars, a record-low reading for the region, equivalent to the center of a Category 4 hurricane. The National Weather Service’s (NWS) Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) tweeted Thursday night: “Here is the latest surface analysis showing a strong storm with winds to #hurricaneforce moving toward the Bering Sea. The central pressure is 921 MB making it one of the strongest storms to ever impact the North Pacific. Winds are expected to reach 95 kts near the low center!”

Tropical Cyclone “Imogen” to hit Queensland with strong winds, dangerous storm tide and heavy rain, Australia

A tropical low formed on January 1 near Groote Eylandt in the western Gulf of Carpentaria, about 635 km (395 miles) ESE of Darwin in favorable environmental conditions, characterized by very warm sea surface temperatures of up to 31 °C (88 °F), low to moderate vertical wind shear and established poleward outflow channel in the upper levels. A Tropical Cyclone Watch was issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) at 00:00 UTC on January 2 for parts of the northwestern Queensland coast. The low continued intensifying and was named Imogen at 06:00 UTC today. At the time, the system had maximum 10-minute winds of 65 km/h (40 mph), maximum 3-second wind gusts up to 100 km/h (62 mph), and a central pressure of 991 hPa. It was moving SE at 12 km/h (7 mph).

A newly-discovered asteroid designated 2021 AA flew past Earth at a distance of 0.62 LD / 0.00159 AU (237 860 km / 147 800 miles) from the center of our planet at 13:16 UTC on January 1, 2021. This is the first known asteroid to flyby Earth within 1 lunar distance since the start of the year. In 2020, we had 107 such flybys, up from 77 in 2019, 76 in 2018, 55 in 2017, and 53 in 2016. Asteroid 2021 AA was first observed at Mt. Lemmon Survey, Arizona on January 2, one day after it made its close approach to Earth. It belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids and has an estimated diameter between 11 and 24 m (36 – 79 feet).
