Headline: PM orders removal of wooden ramp at Temple Mount, following pressure from Jordan

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Israeli authorities to dismantle a wooden footbridge between Jerusalem’s Western Wall plaza and the Temple Mount, in response to Jordanian pressure. Work began Wednesday to remove the footbridge, less than two weeks after construction began. The order came after the royal palace expressed anger over the lack of coordination with Jordan. A senior Israeli official said the walkway was the initiative of local officials who lacked authority and did not notify or request the permission of Israel’s government. When the Prime Minister’s Office became aware of the footbridge, an inquiry was held into the matter with the Jerusalem Municipality and officials at the Western Wall plaza management. The matter was brought to the attention of the prime minister when the Jordanian government and royal palace. The Jordanians conveyed their message via several channels including the Foreign Ministry, fearing that the project could even have an effect on the stability of the Hashemite kingdom, the official said. According to the Israeli, the Jordanians said some officials in Amman were using the incident to claim that Israel was making unauthorized changes at the Temple Mount. “In light of the Jordanian government’s messages and the fact that the temporary bridge is of doubtful importance, and because it was built without coordination with the prime minister … a decision was made to dismantle it right away,” the official said. “The entire area of the Western Wall is under the prime minister’s responsibility precisely because of such sensitivities. We wanted to avoid a situation in which Israel is accused of igniting the Middle East — now of all times.”

Headline: UN seeks help to free abducted UN peacekeepers

The U.N. Security Council called Wednesday on “countries with influence” to press al-Qaida-linked insurgents to release 45 U.N. peacekeepers from Fiji abducted last week in the Golan Heights. “We are sparing no effort to obtain the release of the detained peacekeepers,” he said, but gave no details stressing the importance of “discretion.” U.N. diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the negotiations, said the Nusra Front has made a series of demands, including being taken off the U.N. blacklist of terrorist organizations subject to sanctions. The Nusra Front accused the U.N. of doing nothing to help the Syrian people since the uprising against President Bashar Assad began in March 2011. It said the Fijians were seized in retaliation for the U.N.’s ignoring “the daily shedding of the Muslims’ blood in Syria” and even colluding with Assad’s army “to facilitate its movement to strike the vulnerable Muslims” through a buffer zone in the Golan Heights.

Headline: War Crimes Indictment Filed Against Hamas Head at ICC

The Shurat Hadin civil rights group has announced it has submitted a criminal indictment against Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal at the International Criminal Court in the Hague (ICC). Shurat Hadin, which prosecutes international terrorist groups and their supporters, said the indictment was in response to the summary execution of 38 Palestinians in Gaza during the final days of Operation Protective Edge. Such executions without any legal due process is a clear violations of international humanitarian law, the NGO pointed out. The men were shot dead – some of them publicly – after being accused of cooperating with Israel, following the assassination of three senior Hamas military leaders and the attempted assassination of the terrorist group’s military chief Mohammed Deif. But rights groups say the charges of “collaboration” with Israel were simply used as an excuse for Hamas to kill off several high-profile political opponents, including members of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party.

Headline: Fatah said threatening to obstruct Rafah opening

Fatah officials have reportedly warned that if Hamas does not cede control of the Gaza Strip to the unity government, the presidential guard forces of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will not deploy along the borders and the crossings will remain closed. According to an Israel Radio report, a member of the Palestinian delegation to the Cairo talks added that ceasefire negotiations would resume in October. The report came a day after a high-level Egyptian delegation visited Ramallah to hold a series of consultations on the bid for a lasting ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and simmering tensions between Hamas and Fatah. Following the discussions, Egyptian ambassador to the PA Wael Atiyeh said that Egypt is ready to train presidential guard forces to man the borders and that once they are ready, Egypt will then open the Rafah crossing to full capacity, the report said. Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri said that he was confident that the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas would end in a lasting deal. Tensions between the two groups seem to have boiled over in recent weeks following the allegation by Israeli intelligence that Hamas was plotting a coup against the PA in the West Bank.

comment****Let me remind you again: Abbas’s term as President expired 15 January 15, 2009. Since then Aziz Duwaik has been recognized as President by the government in the Gaza Strip, while Abbas is recognized as President by the government in the West Bank and all the states that recognize the independence of Palestine, as well as the UN. Headline: Abbas rejects Egyptian offer to settle Gazans in Sinai

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has rejected an Egyptian proposal to resettle Palestinian refugees in a large tract of land in the Sinai Peninsula to be annexed to the Gaza Strip. Speaking to a gathering of his Fatah party in Ramallah Sunday, Abbas said that an unnamed senior Egyptian official recently approached him and suggested settling Palestinians in an area 1,600 square kilometers (618 square miles) large adjacent to Gaza, reviving an idea originally proposed by former Israeli national security adviser Giora Eiland. “They [the Egyptians] are prepared to receive all the refugees, [saying] ‘let’s end the refugee story’,” Abbas was quoted by Ma’an news agency as saying. The Palestinian leader noted that the idea was first proposed to the Egyptian government in 1956, but was furiously rejected by Palestinian leaders such as PLO militant Muhammad Youssef Al-Najjar and poet Muin Bseiso who “understood the danger of this.” “Now this is being proposed once again. A senior leader in Egypt said: ‘a refuge must be found for the Palestinians and we have all this open land.’ This was said to me personally. But it’s illogical for the problem to be solved at Egypt’s expense. We won’t have it,” Abbas said.

Headline: Slain US journalist Sotloff also had Israeli citizenship

Headline: Islamic State officially outlawed in Israel

Steven Sotloff, a U.S. journalist beheaded by Islamic State militants, also held Israeli citizenship, Israel said Wednesday after apparently withholding the information in a bid to stem the risks to the captive. “Cleared for publication: Steven Sotloff was # Israel citizen RIP,” tweeted Paul Hirschson, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in occupied Jerusalem. ISIS published footage of Sotloff’s execution Tuesday, which it called retaliation for U.S. airstrikes. The video was authenticated by the White House Wednesday. Sotloff’s death was extensively covered by Israeli media, which identified the 31-year-old reporter as Jewish and an occasional contributor having withheld such observations since ISIS announced he could be killed two weeks ago. “We refused to acknowledge any relationship with him in case it was dangerous for him,” said Avi Hoffman, editor of the Jerusalem Report magazine, which had published Sotloff’s work.

Headline: Israel, Jordan Sign $15 Billion Natural Gas Deal

Israel is to supply Jordan with natural gas from its vast Leviathan offshore gas field over a period of 15 years, US giant Noble Energy announced Wednesday. A source close to the deal said it was worth $15 billion (11.4 billion euros) – a significant chunk of some $60 billion which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said will come from Israel’s offshore gas exports. Noble announced in a statement the “execution of a non-binding letter of intent to supply natural gas from the Leviathan field, offshore Israel, to the National Electric Power Company Ltd (NEPCO) of Jordan.” “Noble Energy and the Leviathan partners will supply a base gross quantity of 1.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas from the Leviathan field over a 15-year term,” it said. Leviathan is majority-owned by three Israeli companies, with 40 percent owned by Noble. A source close to the deal, who asked to remain anonymous, said it was worth some $15 billion, and hailed the deal as “important for Israel geopolitically to establish our relationship with Jordan and other Arab countries.”

Headline:   Jordan’s potential role in anti-ISIL alliance to be discussed at NATO meeting — envoy

His Majesty King Abdullah’s participation in the upcoming NATO summit will be of “immeasurable illumination” on how to face the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), British Ambassador to Jordan Peter Millett said on Tuesday. Briefing journalists on the agenda of the summit, which will be held from September 4-5 in Newport, Wales, Millett said that the third big issue to be discussed during the periodic meeting, after Ukraine and Afghanistan, is the developments in Iraq and Syria, and the threat ISIL poses to the region’s security and stability. Participants in the summit, Millett said, will look at ISIL in terms of the threat it poses first to the security of the member states of the alliance and also to the countries of the region, particularly Jordan. “The King’s participation is of prime importance because there will be a lot of discussions, ideas and proposals on the role that NATO can play in confronting ISIL’s threat. How can we cooperate and coordinate, and work with Jordan to achieve the security of Jordan and the region and NATO’s allies,” Millett said. The ambassador explained that the rise of ISIL and the spread of its radical ideology has turned into a worrying matter in the West, adding that “the big debate in the UK at the moment is about the British jihadists returning home one day”. Millett also said that Jordan has been a strategic partner to NATO since 1994, adding that the Kingdom’s stability and security is a top priority to all the 28 members of the alliance. On the nature of Jordan’s role in any NATO action against ISIL, the ambassador only cited the important role of the Kingdom in assisting the alliance’s military and humanitarian operations in Afghanistan and Libya.

Headline: Russian ambassador confirms military cooperation with Lebanon

The Russian ambassador to Lebanon confirmed Wednesday that the two countries are discussing possible formulas for military cooperation, without disclosing any details on the possible deal. “There is some news on many media outlets about technical military cooperation, but I am not tasked with disclosing any detail about it,” said Alexander Zasypkin, after meeting Sports and Youth Minister Abdul-Muttaleb al-Hinawi. “I sum up by confirming that negotiations in this concern are taking place, and we hope that positive results come out in the near future.” “The terrorist threat does not only target Lebanon, it is a problem for everyone,” Zasypkin said. “Henceforth, there is a necessity to concentrate efforts and form a coalition based on the UN’s capacities to develop international efforts [in this direction].”

Headline: Sisi Blames Israeli Lack of ‘Peace’ For Islamic State

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi blamed Israel for fueling terrorism in the Middle East by not making peace with the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Wednesday, in light of the tensions between the West and the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS). The lack of a “peace process” in Israel contributes to a “fertile environment for the growth and spread of extremism, violence and terrorism,” claimed Sisi, who violently overthrew former President Mohammed Morsi last July 3. “What strengthens this environment, and gives excuses to those who exploit religion and terrorism, is the continuation of the Palestinian cause for decades without an equitable resolution,” his office quoted him as saying in a statement, reports AFP. Sisi has been critical towards Israel, despite serving as mediator between the Jewish state and the terrorist organization Hamas in negotiations that led to a ceasefire deal last Tuesday. It is worth noting that during elections in May, he said he would be open to amending the peace treaty with Israel.

Headline:   Egypt policeman killed, two wounded in Sinai attacks

An Egyptian policeman was shot dead and two colleagues were wounded in attacks in the restive Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday, security officials said, a day after a bomb killed 11 policemen. Assailants in a car gunned down a police sergeant in the North Sinai town of El-Arish, the officials said. Two policemen were wounded later in a roadside bombing that targeted their armored vehicle near the town, officials added. The attacks came a day after the deadliest ambush of policemen in months, when a roadside bomb that exploded near an armored police vehicle killed an officer and 10 conscripts. Militants in Sinai have killed scores of policemen and soldiers in a string of attacks since the army overthrew Islamist president Mohammed Mursi in July 2013.

NOTE FROM FRANK 2

***Last night I put up a headline that read: Pro-Assad forces attack residential areas of IS-held Deir ez-Zor

http://aranews.net/2014/09/pro-assad-forces-attack-residential-areas-held-deir-ez-zor/

Then I asked you to read a 2nd link: Assad regime backs ISIL against rebels in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

http://aranews.net/2014/07/assad-regime-backs-isil-rebels-syrias-deir-ez-zor/

I stated that these NEWS articles were not meant to ‘back’ any side- as ETRM never does. We stand only for Jesus Christ our Lord and Risen King. I had said that “Assad was looking like a good guy lately compared to ISIS”. The meaning of this should be clear: the media, as you can see from the two opposing headlines, show that Assad is bombing ISIS. This SEEMS like a good thing, with the whole world crying out against ISIS. But, I also stated, that we MUST remember the TRUTH: he backed them originally.   Now I’m going to paint you a truly frightening picture: the TRUTH is…the US backed Free Syrian Army (or rebels as they are called) are working WITH the Islamic State (Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra, ISIS). I have made this statement before- that they are all working together. I have shown you time and again how many ‘differing’ terror groups (all with different names) have pledged to ISIS.

So just to make it VERY clear, here are few headlines:

Today’s headline shows Syrian rebels offer to join int’l forces in fight against ISIS

A spokesperson for the Free Syrian Army, the main rebel force fighting to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad, said the group and other rebel forces it represents are willing to participate in the fight against the Islamic State (formerly ISIS). In a statement made to the Turkish news agency Anatolia, he said the forces were fighting against the Islamic State in northwest Syria, but had recent retreated because of lack of equipment.

Do we need MORE proof? So what’s to do in Syria? We can’t help Assad, we already helped the FSA and now they work with ISIS. How seriously should this ‘offer’ to help international forces be taken? Not at all. People hear FSA and they think of the poor Syrian people being slaughtered by Assad (which they are) but then they think…oh the FSA is the good guys trying to get rid of Assad. Well Assad backed ISIS, FSA works WITH ISIS. Again I ask….Now what?

The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap”. The reaping is now. Unfortunately, innocent people are paying the price along with the sowers.

Syria Headline:   Syrian airstrike hits bus, killing 13

Syrian opposition activists say at least 13 people, most of them children, have died in a government airstrike that hit a bus in the country’s east. The Local Coordination’s Committees group says the bus was carrying civilians traveling to the capital, Damascus, from the eastern Deir el-Zour province when it was struck in the village of Shoula on Wednesday. The group says 13 people were killed. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the death toll at 16, including 10 children. It says the death toll was likely to rise because there were many wounded.

Iraq Headline: IS Plant IEDs on Main Road between Kirkuk and Baghdad

The Security Committee of Diyala Province has said that Islamic State militants have planted Improvised Explosive Devices or IEDs on the main road between Kirkuk and Baghdad that connects the Kurdistan Region to southern Iraq. ’IS insurgents have used a new way of planting IED bombs on the main road from Ozem until Amrli town in Diyala province,’ said the Head of Security Committee of Diyala, Sadiq Hussein. Hussein stated that IS militants used another form of IED that connects 3-4 bombs together that explode simultaneously by the push of a button. ’All the bombs are linked, creating a circle about 20-40 meters in area that target the military units and civilians that use the road daily,’ added Hussein. He mentioned that a special military team has defused more than 50 bombs from Amrli to Ozem town in the last few days. A few days ago, Kurdish Peshmerga forces along with Iraqi army and Shiite Militia groups freed the main highway between Kirkuk and Iraqi Capital Baghdad.

Iraq Headline:   First Chinese ISIS fighter captured in Iraq says Ministry of Defense

Iraqi Army Forces claim to have captured an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria fighter from China. If the claim proves accurate, it would be the first time a Chinese national has been found fighting for the terrorist organization ISIS. Iraq’s Minister of Defense posted two pictures of what appeared to be a captured soldier, along with a short message that described the man as a “Chinese Daash,” the South China Morning Post reported, adding that the Chinese government has yet to release a statement on the Iraqi claims. “Daash” is an acronym for “Dulat al-Islam fi al-Iraq wal-Sham,” Arabic for the Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria. In one picture, the captured Islamic militant, whose face is badly swollen, is seen being guarded by an Iraqi soldier while, in another picture, the militant is shown lying apparently unconscious on the ground. If the captured militant proves to be a Chinese national, it would be the first sign of Chinese citizens fighting for the Sunni group in Iraq and Syria, along with hundreds of other foreign Islamists, including citizens of Britain, Australia and the United States, who have traveled to this region of the Middle East, answering the call of jihad to establish what they call an “Islamic Caliphate.”

Iraq Headline: Kurdish official says US aid not ‘effective’ against ISIS, appeals for heavier arms

A top Kurdish representative to the U.S. claims that the Obama administration is not doing enough to supply vital advanced weapons to Kurdish peshmerga security forces in their fight against Islamic State militants – amid signs that other nations may be eclipsing the U.S. in their level of support. “To this point, we have only received light arms, nothing effective against ISIS militants,” Karwan Zebari, director of U.S. congressional affairs for the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), told Fox News. “We need effective equipment to go on the offensive. We need to be going after them,” he said, adding: “There are two heads to this snake that need to be cut off. The one in Iraq is Mosul and the other in Syria is Raqqa.” Currently, the U.S. is providing only ammunition for small arms and mortars and has stopped short of arming the Kurds directly. When asked Wednesday if the White House was planning any changes to its policy, a Defense official told Fox News, “The Department of Defense has not provided direct arms to the Kurds and has no plans to do so in the future.” Zebari cautioned the Pentagon against working with the Iraqi government in Baghdad to facilitate the transfer of arms. “They always slow things down,” he said. Last week, Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren said the focus is “to coordinate this multinational effort to provide munitions.” Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel at the time announced plans for a seven-nation effort to arm the Kurds.

Headline: 9/11 anniversary attacks ready to go. New undetectable explosive may be used

Credible information has reached Saudi, British and Australian agencies that two al Qaeda branches – IS in Iraq and Syria and AQAP at its base in Yemen – have wrapped up plans to roll out coordinated terrorist spectaculars around the 13th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. According to debkafile’s counterterrorism sources, they are preparing to strike simultaneously in the Middle East and a West European city. Next, they will go for US targets in the Middle East and Europe. In the estimate of Islamist experts, the IS and AQAP have decided to delay direct terrorist action in the United States, calculating that an attack on America will have a greater shock impact some time after the first cycle of outrages, toward the end of 2014 or early 2015. It was this information that galvanized Saudi King Abdullah into warning the West that Al Qaeda’s plans were imminent. “If neglected,” he said strongly last week, “I am certain that after a month they will reach Europe and, after another month, America.” Our intelligence and counterterrorism sources disclose that the data on the two Al Qaeda groups’ plans to mark the 9/11 anniversary with major attacks has been in the hands of Middle Eastern, European and US security agencies since the second week of May, i.e., five months ago. They were also anxiously aware that Al Qaeda’s top bomb-maker, Ibrahim Hassan A-Asiri, who works out of Yemen, had developed a secret explosive substance that can pass undetected through the screening devices and security measures currently in use at international airports and public places in the West and the Middle East. Intelligence experts believe that this novel substance, when hidden in special shoes or electronic devices like iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones, can beat even tight security scrutiny. However, information has also been received about the new undetectable explosive substance being implanted in the bodies of suicide jihadists, to produce the ultimate “body bombs.” It is feared that this hazard is already in place and that a surgical procedure may have been carried out to implant it on carriers of American or European passports, at a secret clinic in Yemen or a Gulf emirate by a surgeon dedicated to the radical Islamist cause. These human bombs will have been able to travel through Jordan or Iraq through Turkey to their targeted destinations. Such carriers of invisible bombs may be Americans, Belgians, Britons, Australians, French citizens or Germans, and already on standby for the prearranged signal to push a certain button and demolish a selected target.

Headline: Dem senator plans bill to approve airstrikes in Syria, as Obama hedges on plan

Headline:   Obama vows US will not be intimidated by Sotloff execution

A Democratic senator is planning to introduce legislation authorizing U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria, in a bid to ensure President Obama is not waiting on Congress to escalate the military campaign. When Congress returns next week, Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., says he plans to introduce a bill to “ensure there’s no question that the president has the legal authority he needs to use airstrikes in Syria.” Nelson said in a statement: “Let there be no doubt, we must go after ISIS right away because the U.S. is the only one that can put together a coalition to stop this group that’s intent on barbaric cruelty.” Legal analysts and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have long been at odds over what type of military action requires congressional approval — the debate flared during the 2011 operation in Libya, and amid the threats of military action in Syria last year — and this case is no different. The president also has taken heat in recent days for what critics describe as a muddy approach to the Islamic State. Obama admitted last week his team does not have a strategy yet for tackling the group, also known as ISIS, in Syria.

Headline: ISIS Expands Into Pakistan And Afghanistan

ISIS is now expanding into Pakistan and Afghanistan, by distributing copies of a pamphlet entitled Fatah (victory), to Islamists in these countries. As we read from a recent account (2nd link) : The dreaded Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is trying to expand its influence in Pakistan, with pamphlets being distributed in Peshawar and border provinces of Afghanistan, seeking support for jihad. A booklet titled ‘Fatah’ (victory) in Pashto and Dari languages was distributed in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as well as in Afghan refugee camps on the outskirts of the city, the Express Tribune reported. The logo of the pamphlet has the Kalma, the historical stamp of Prophet Muhammad and a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Some copies were also mysteriously sent to Afghan journalists working in Peshawar, the paper said. On the last page of the pamphlet, the editor’s name appears to be fake and where the document has been published cannot be ascertained, it said. Since long, Afghan militant groups, including Haqqani Network and Hizb-e-Islami, have been publishing similar pamphlets, magazines and propaganda literature in Peshawar black markets. Formerly known as the ISIS, the group introduced itself as Daulat-e-Islamia (Islamic State) in the pamphlet and made an appeal to the local population for supporting its jihad (struggle) for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate. A number of hardline groups operating in border areas have already announced support for the outfit. Among them, Abdul Rahim Muslim Dost and Maulvi Abdul Qahar, stalwarts of Saudi Arabia-backed Salafi Taliban groups operating in Nuristan and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan, have extended support to the self-styled caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Besides distribution of its literature and pamphlets, some of the ISIS supporters have also made wall chalking, asking locals to join and support the group. Some cars and vehicles also have ISIS stickers pasted on them. Recently, established Ahrarul Islam, a faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, is already working on the lines of ISIS. Similar is the status of the East Turkistan Islamic Movement, also known as Hizb-e-Islami Turkistan. Ahrarul Islam doesn’t believe in boundaries between Islamic countries, therefore, it is working for the establishment of a network throughout South and Central Asian regions. The group doesn’t recognize al-Baghdadi as the caliph, but considers Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Omar as ‘commander’. ISIS or IS is an al-Qaida splinter group and it has seized hundreds of square miles in Iraq and Syria. Al-Qaida has distanced itself from the group, chiding it for its lack of teamwork in its aggressive, brutal expansion.

Headline: Russian Security Council: ‘Aggression Against Crimea Constitutes Attack on Russia’

Headline:   Russia’s strategic nuclear forces to hold major exercise this month

Military aggression against Crimea will constitute an attack against Russia, Mikhail Popov, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, told RIA Novosti in an interview Tuesday. “Today, Crimea is the territory of Russia and armed aggression against Crimea will be treated as an attack on Russia, with all due consequences,” the official said. “The military force in Crimea, established by the president’s decree, is self-sufficient and capable of repelling a potential invasion of the republic by an aggressor.” According to Popov, the changed situation around the Russian-Ukrainian border requires a thorough analysis and detailed consideration of all the surrounding circumstances. However, the main responsibility of the Black Sea Fleet and the military force on the Crimean peninsula remains the same; in Popov’s words, “To ensure the military security of the state within the boundaries of accountability.”

Headline:   Obama says NATO must help strengthen Ukraine’s military

As fighting between the army and Russian-backed rebels rages in eastern Ukraine, preparations are under way near its western border for a joint military exercise this month with more than 1,000 troops from the United States and its allies. The decision to go ahead with the Rapid Trident exercise Sept. 16-26 is seen as a sign of the commitment of NATO states to support non-NATO member Ukraine while stopping well short of military intervention in the conflict. The annual exercise, to take place in the Yavoriv training center near Ukraine’s border with Poland, was initially scheduled for July, but was put back because early planning was disrupted by the crisis in the eastern part of the country. “At the moment, we are still planning for (the exercise) to go ahead,” U.S. Navy Captain Gregory Hicks, spokesman for the U.S. Army’s European Command said on Tuesday. NATO stepped up military activity in its eastern member states after Russia’s annexation of Crimea in March, and is expected to agree at a summit in Wales this week to create a new rapid reaction force of several thousand troops. In addition to staging air force exercises, the United States is moving tanks and 600 troops to Poland and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for joint maneuvers in October, replacing a more lightly armed force of paratroopers.

Headline:   Putin calls on rebels to ‘stop advancing’ as Ukraine, Russia in agreement on steps needed for cease-fire

Headline:   Rebels reject Ukrainian cease-fire announcement

Russian President Vladimir Putin says he hopes for Kiev and pro-Russian militias to reach a peace agreement on the spiraling crisis in east Ukraine on Friday. Putin made the remark on Wednesday as he outlined a seven-point peace plan which calls for the end “of active offensive operations by the (Ukrainian) armed forces” and pro-Russia forces “in the southeast of Ukraine.” “I believe that a final agreement between the authorities of Kiev and southeastern Ukraine can be reached and cemented during a meeting of the Contact Group on September 5,” said Putin. He was referring to the European-mediated negotiations planned to be held in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, on Friday. The blueprint calls for the Ukrainian forces to halt airstrikes on cities in the volatile east. Putin also called for the deployment of international observers to monitor a ceasefire, the unconditional exchange of prisoners as well as the establishment of corridors for humanitarian aid supply to crisis-stricken cities of Donetsk and Lugansk. The roadmap raises hopes of an end to months-long fighting which has left more than 2,600 people dead. Earlier in the day, Kiev said Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Putin had agreed to a “permanent ceasefire” in the volatile eastern Ukraine. Russia, however, said the leaders agreed on steps towards peace in eastern Ukraine but not a truce as Moscow is not a party to the crisis.

Headline:   Ukraine rebels say they are poised to recapture Donetsk airport

Headline:   Six civilians killed in Ukraine fresh shelling

Rebels in Donetsk, the biggest city under their control, said they were close to recapturing its airport from Ukrainian troops who had defended it since capturing it two months ago. “The airport is 95 percent under our control. Practically, we are holding it by now. Some remaining Ukrainian troops need to be cleared,” said Aleksandar Timofeyev, a leader of one of the main rebel units in Donetsk. “The Ukrainian army is retreating. It’s more of a flight by now. Reasonable ones give up their weapons and go. Others stay in the ground for good.” A rebel source said an attempt to storm the airport was under way: “It will soon be over”. Losing control of the airport in Donetsk would be a humiliating reversal for government forces that recaptured it after going on the offensive in June. Ukrainian forces abandoned the airport at the other rebel stronghold, Luhansk, on Monday.

Headline: Iranian Oil Minister Vows to Bypass Sanctions

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said Tehran would continue to bypass sanctions after the United States penalized a number of companies for violating sanctions imposed on Iran, mostly in connection with its nuclear program. On Friday, the United States imposed a fresh round of curbs on a number of Iranian and foreign companies, banks and airlines. The new measures came just over two weeks before talks between Iran and six world powers on Tehran’s nuclear program resume in New York. Washington said the firms were helping Iran’s nuclear program, which Tehran says is peaceful but the West suspects may be aimed at developing a nuclear weapons capability. They included Goldentex FZE, a UAE-based firm working with Iran’s shipping sector, and an Italian firm, Dettin SpA, which it said was working with Iran’s petrochemical industry. “The sanctions are cruel and illegal and we fulfill our duty for circumventing the sanctions,” Zanganeh was cited as saying by the oil ministry’s news website Shana. “We do not recognize the sanctions,” he said, referring to Friday’s new curbs.

Headline:  Iran denies cultural centers in Sudan closed

Iran Wednesday denied its cultural centers in Sudan have been closed on the orders of Khartoum, saying Sudanese authorities would not want to damage relations. “The embassy and the cultural and economic centers of Iran and Sudan are continuing with their normal activities in the two countries,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolahian, quoted by Fars news agency. “Sudanese authorities would not allow damage to our historic bilateral relations,” he said. On Tuesday, an official in Khartoum, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Sudan has ordered Iran to close its cultural centers and given their managers 72 hours to leave the country. He said the decision was in response to “increased activity by the cultural centers in spreading Shiite Islam,” the majority faith in Iran but not in overwhelmingly Sunni Sudan. The AFP correspondent in Sudan’s capital said the Iranian cultural center with its Sudanese employees was operating as usual Wednesday. Khartoum has maintained generally close relations with Tehran, whose warships have made port calls in Port Sudan this year. Iran is also reportedly a significant arms supplier to Sudan and the two governments both support the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.

Headline: Libyan Islamist rebels pose with planes seized from Tripoli airport as U.S. officials warn they could be used to carry out terrorist attack on 9/11 anniversary

Libyan terrorists have posted pictures of themselves online posing with some of the aeroplanes taken from Tripoli airport after fighters seized it last month. Soldiers from the group Libyan Dawn can be seen climbing on to the wings of commercial jets while smiling and waving for the camera. U.S. officials fear that these aeroplanes could now be used to carry out 9/11-style attacks in the region on the anniversary of the tragedy this month. A total of 11 commercial jets from state-owned carriers Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways went missing in August after militants from the so-called ‘masked men brigade’ overran the airport. September 11 not only marks the anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center but it will also be the second anniversary of the  raid of the U.S. Ambassador’s compound in Benghazi, Libya. Four Americans were killed in the attack, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Ansar al-Shariah, the group Washington holds responsible for the attack, have also seized parts of the Libyan capital and are known to work with terrorists from ISIS. However they are not thought to be working with fighters from Libyan Dawn, as they are an Al-Qaeda affiliated group.

A soldier in the Royal Moroccan Armed forces was arrested today, September 3, by the National Bureau of the Judicial Police (BNJP). According to the newspaper al-Ahdath al-Maghribiya, he was charged with attempting to recruit former Moroccan soldiers for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s Islamic State (Daach, in Arabic), The accused allegedly  contacted former Moroccan soldiers on social media in an attempt to enlist them. The arrest by the BNJP was followed by a report from the Directorate of Territorial Security (DGST) in collaboration with a special unit of the Royal Gendarmerie. The arrest took place in the Sahara province following clandestine meetings between the soldier and experienced jihadists, according to the same source. The soldier attempting to recruit former Moroccan soldiers was said to be deeply influenced by takfirist adherents in Fez. He had used electronic communication to come into contact with extremists who are responsible for recruiting for ISIS. The fighters undertake jihad under the banner of the Islamic State, based in Syria and Iraq. Morocco has become a “nursery” for  candidates for the jihadi terrorist al-Baghdadi, the same source added. Morocco ranks third in the Arab world in recruiting fighters for the benefit of Daach, according to a report issued by the PEW American research center.

The Gaza Strip’s electricity network was severely damaged during Israel’s seven-week conflict with Hamas, and Turkey is stepping into the breach.  Turkey’s consul-general in Jerusalem, Mustafa Sarnic, was quoted on Wednesday by the Istanbul website Daily Sabah as saying that the country planned to send a power-generating ship to help supply power to the Strip.  The idea was suggested by Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yıldız, Sarnic said.  A Palestinian delegation visited Turkey last week for talks regarding the proposal, and if an agreement is reached, the ship would provide 80 to 100 megawatts for Gaza, he noted.  On Friday, Daily Sabah reported that the chairman of the shipbuilder Karkey, Orhan Karadeniz, said that if permits for a crew can be obtained, a power-supply ship could sail for Gaza within four months.

Headline: ISIL’s foreign fighters to be discussed during Hagel’s visit to Turkey

Foreign fighters heading to Syria to join the extremist group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) will be on the agenda of US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel when he visits Turkey, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby has said.  Defense Secretary Hagel is planning to pay a visit to Turkey after his participation at the Sept. 4-5 NATO summit in Wales and visit to Georgia next week. Hagel’s first official visit to Turkey as head of the Pentagon will take place amid a US push for a coalition against ISIL insurgents in Syria and Iraq.  In a press briefing on Tuesday, Kirby refrained from answering a question about how he evaluates Turkey’s role in foreign fighters crossing into Syria from Turkish territory. He said it is not for him to evaluate Turkey’s role and that he was not going to answer a question that should be asked of the Turkish government. He added that the issue will be discussed during Hagel’s visit to Turkey.  “What I’m telling you is Turkey has a stake here. We understand that. It’s an important partner in the region, a NATO ally. The Turkish government has concerns about foreign fighters, and right they should, and we’re going there next week, and I think — I have no doubt that this will be a topic of discussion between Secretary Hagel and his counterpart [Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz],” Kirby told the reporters.  When the reporter insisted on asking whether Turkey plays a helpful role in allowing ISIL’s foreign fighters to travel to Syria, Kirby said that “Turkey is spending its effort and its energy to address this as best it can” and has concerns about these fighters like other countries in the region. “I’m not going to go into more detail than that,” he said.

Headline:  Al-Qaeda claims Mali peacekeeper attacks

Four United Nations peacekeepers were killed Tuesday (September 2nd) and another 15 injured when their truck was blown up in northern Mali. The attack on the Chadian convoy on the Kidal-Aguelhok road came just days after al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) claimed credit for a series of deadly assaults on Mali peacekeepers. In an audio recording released on Saturday, the jihadist organisation’s spokesman, Abdarrahmane al-Azawadi, claimed responsibility on behalf of AQIM for the August 16th suicide bombing in Ber, 60km to the east of Timbuktu. That attack left two Burkinabe troops dead. He also mentioned two other attacks in June on MINUSMA vehicles, one in Goundam (45km from Timbuktu) and another 13km from Timbuktu. Al-Azawadi also said that AQIM launched Grad rockets at Timbuktu Airport on July 12th. The spokesman issued a threat that there would be more attacks on French forces. This upsurge in AQIM activity is causing concern for MINUSMA forces.

Latest official figures demonstrate that Spain’s already high unemployment rate rose in August as the eurozone’s fourth-largest economy struggles to cement a fragile economic recovery. According to data released by Spain’s employment ministry on Tuesday, a total of 8,070 Spaniards joined the jobless ranks last month, meaning that 4,427,930 people were registered as looking for work at the country’s state-run employment offices by the end of August. The figures also revealed that the number of the people signed on to the country’s social security system plummeted by 97,582 to 16,649,521people. Spain’s national statistics institute recorded 5.5 million unemployed individuals in Spain in June, yielding an unemployment rate of 24.47 percent. The number was second only to Greece, where the jobless rate stood at 27.3%.

Military teams should be sent to west Africa immediately if there is to be any hope of controlling the Ebola epidemic, doctors on the frontline told the United Nations on Tuesday, painting a stark picture of health workers dying, patients left without care and infectious bodies lying in the streets. The international president of Médecins sans Frontières (MSF), Dr Joanne Liu, told member states that although alarm bells had been ringing for six months, the response had been too little, too late and no amount of vaccinations and new drugs would be able to prevent the escalating disaster. “Six months into the worst Ebola epidemic in history, the world is losing the battle to contain it,” Liu said. “In west Africa, cases and deaths continue to surge,” she said. “Riots are breaking out. Isolation centres are overwhelmed. Health workers on the frontline are becoming infected and are dying in shocking numbers. “Others have fled in fear, leaving people without care for even the most common illnesses. Entire health systems have crumbled.” She said Ebola treatment centres had been reduced to places where people went to die alone. “It is impossible to keep up with the sheer number of infected people pouring into facilities. In Sierra Leone, infectious bodies are rotting in the streets,” she said. “Rather than building new Ebola care centres in Liberia, we are forced to build crematoria.”

Headline:   California: All Health Insurance Must Cover Abortion

Health insurance companies in California may not refuse to cover the cost of abortions, state insurance officials have ruled. The decision is a reversal of policy stemming from the decision by two Catholic universities not to fund elective abortions through their employee health plans.  Although the federal Affordable Care Act does not compel employers to provide workers with health insurance that includes abortion coverage, California’s Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) Director Michelle Rouillard said in a letter to seven insurance companies on Friday that the state Constitution and a 1975 state law prohibits them from selling group plans that exclude the procedure. Rouillard said her department had “erroneously approved or did not object” to a small number of health insurance policies that excluded abortions.  But Bill Donahue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, said both Santa Clara University and Loyola Marymount University had already agreed to cover abortions in cases threatening the mother’s life or health. Loyola also allowed employees to purchase separate insurance for elective abortions. The two schools said their insurers, Anthem Blue Cross and Kaiser Permanente, had cleared the move with the state.  Abortion-rights groups and university employees who objected to the decision lobbied the women’s caucus of the California Legislature, which in turn asked Gov. Jerry Brown to clarify and reverse the healthcare department’s decision.

Headline:   Indian villages crack down on Christians

Christian minorities in central India face a new threat as Hindu extremists in more than a dozen village councils have passed resolutions imposing restrictions on religions other than Hinduism. The laws, passed under the guise of stopping false conversions, made Christian prayer, services and “propaganda” illegal, World Watch Monitor reported. The Bastar district president of the World Hindu Council, Suresh Yadav, told The Times of India that more than 50 village councils have banned all non-Hindu missionaries. The state government of Chhattisgarh, where the tribal Bastar villages are located, has not intervened to strike down the rules but plans to monitor developments, according to the Times. Chhattisgarh Christian Forum president Arun Pannalal told the newspaper that village councils were wrong to think they could pass resolutions that override constitutional protections. Pannalal noted that Article 25 of India’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion for all. Church leaders said the resolutions have already harmed Christians and called for higher government officials to overturn them. “In some places, the passing of the resolution has been followed by attacks on pastors and pulling down of village churches,” Aneesh Andrews, Methodist district superintendent for the region, told World Watch Monitor. He called the restrictions a “ploy to harass Christians” and explained that in some villages Christians have been denied food or access to water. In other towns, Christians have been ordered to leave.

Tropical Storm Dolly moved ashore late Tuesday and soaked Mexico’s Gulf coast, where authorities suspended school classes and readied shelters. The U.S. Hurricane Center said Dolly was located about 25 miles south-southeast of Tampico on Tuesday evening.  The storm’s maximum sustained winds were near 45 mph and it was moving to the west at 9 mph. The storm is expected to bring 5 to 10 inches of rain to states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz, along the Gulf coast and inland. Life-threatening flash floods and mud slides were possible in mountainous areas. Tropical storm force winds extended outward up to 140 miles but weakening is expected to occur over the next 24 hours as Dolly moves inland. Tamaulipas state authorities said earlier in the day that shelters were being readied and that classes would be suspended Wednesday in several municipalities along the Gulf coast. Authorities in neighboring Veracruz state ordered classes in the whole state suspended.

Hello Frank. I came across this compelling video on YouTube I would like to share with you. Its about the formation of the ten kings of Prophecy (right now). It seems to make a lot of sense to me and I would be greatly interested on your thoughts on this. If the assumption is correct here we could only have literally days left here on earth not biblical days but literal days. That would be sweet but not to get to excited now we just have to be more vigilant in these days like the 5 virgins that brought enough oil for their lamps.
And thank you for all your work on this page and YouTube God will greatly bless you.

Hi Gordan- I cover this in great detail in my book pages 47-77. The most important verse to look at- and take literally- is “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast” (Revelation 17:12-13). God bless you
