Prophecy Sign: “Isaiah 17:1 “The burden against Damascus.

The Jerusalem Postreported on Thursday that there is growing concern in the Israeli army that Syrian dictator Bashar Assad could attack the Jewish state as pressure mounts for him to step down.

Assad is currently facing a revolution in his own country that he has sought to quell with brutal military force. Those bloody tactics have resulted in a good portion of the Syrian army joining the opposition, and Syria is nearing the point of full-scale civil war.

The situation has prompted the Arab League and Western powers to consider injecting their own military forces into Syria with the aim of ending Assad's rule. But before that happens, Israeli military officials believe Assad would lash out at Israel, both to divert Arab attention on Syria's internal struggle and to establish a lasting legacy for himself.

What has made this prospect all the more worrying is that recent reports suggest Assad has been using chemical weapons against the Syrian opposition, including civilians. If he attacks Israel, it is believed Assad would have no problem using those same weapons against the Jewish state.

Syria reportedly has the most extensive chemical weapons arsenal in the world.

The Israeli army has been holding drills and formulating plans focused on dealing with a number of possible scenarios springing from the situation in Syria.

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 (UPI) — The U.N. General Assembly, dealing a major blow to the Syrian government, passed a resolution by a 137-12 vote calling for President Bashar Assad to step down.

The non-binding resolution endorsed the Arab League's effort for an end to the Assad government's deadly crackdown on the nearly yearlong pro-democracy uprising and asking the president to leave office.

Those voting against the measure included Russia and China, CNN reported. There were 17 abstentions.

Russia and China had vetoed a similar effort this month in the U.N. Security Council, which would have made it binding. Besides Russia and China, other permanent members of the Security Council are the United States, France and Britain.

The General Assembly vote was thus seen as showing where the rest of the world stands on the issue

The government said that nationally cases dropped 62 percent this year to 40,486. Dengue affects between 50 and 100 million people in the tropics and subtropics each year, resulting in fever, muscle and joint ache.”

Many of you don't know, but Timothy Moore and I have been placed together by the Lord to help spread the Word of God in Africa. The message of Christ about His Salvation, and His warnings concerning the last days has hit home in Africa and, as you will read by this email below our Ministry in Africa is being blessed by Christ and is growing into different Ministries.

You will rejoice with me about the new evangelism/missions outreach that we have begun in Kenya. The Lord has spoken to a family who has agreed to fund the cost for a year of training and placing 6 missionary evangelists into the field to preach, win the lost and establish new churches. Most will be in Kenya but I expect at least one will be in Tanzania. In obedience to the Lord, this family is providing $100. per evangelist per month and an additional $100. per month for their supervising pastor as well as funds for about 200 Bibles for them to provide to new converts. The $100. per month is adequate to provide for rental housing and support in the field.

They are undergoing a month of intensive daily training and field experience out of the Christ the Rebuilder Church in Eldoret, Kenya under the supervision of Pastor Enock Burudi; then they will be commissioned and set forth into their assigned missions area with a new mountain bicycle which this family has also provided the funding for. Praise the Lord for His great provision! In the first day of so of their field training in Eldoret, the first 4 men of the six won five people to the Lord, and they have the local church there for their discipleship and followup.

I have attached a photo of the first 4 missionary /evangelists standing next to the church in Eldoret. The last two have now been assigned and will join the others for training on Monday. The four in the photo are (L to R) Pastor Ken, Pastor Ben, Isaac and Pastor Nathan. The ministry effort is called Jesus' Call International Ministries and the men will report regularly to Pastor Burudi for review and modification of their ministry assignment , if needed. I expect to have a number of good photos to send to you after the end of February when they will have the commissioning service and give them their certificates and bicycles and Bibles. Please remember to pray for these men and this outreach over the next year. These men will be ministering under very difficult conditions in new areas where there are many unsaved. Some of the areas will probably also have significant Muslim presence that will make the ministry work more challenging. They need our prayers.

Timothy Moore and I have been blessed to spread the good news of Christ Jesus in Africa. Timothy just sent me an up-date on our newest Church going up in Kaberwa.

Bro Frank,
Here are some photos of the work in progress at the plot for the new church in Kaberwa, Mt. Elgon in NW Kenya. They have fenced the property and are now placing the frame posts for the pastors house which will be a three room stick, mud and stucco house with sheet metal roof. We are moving forward! Hope to begin work in the sanctuary within a week or two. We have also had a family donate the funds for a cow and chicken for the pastor there and his family which includes a baby boy born a couple of weeks ago. The Lord is providing.

Looks like Planned Parenthood is pushing characteristics found in Noah’s and Lots generation. One fact is very clear when you are talking about the last day signs. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has turned his back on peace after the Fatah leader warned that peace negotiations cannot resume without an Israeli settlement freeze.

Abbas spoke Sunday before the foreign ministers of the Arab League in Cairo, and harshly condemned Netanyahu. He effectively posed an ultimatum before the prime minister, saying that if Netanyahu would not agree to freeze all construction in the settlements and agree to negotiate based on 1967 borders, the Palestinian Authority will renew its unilateral efforts to obtain statehood in the United Nations.

Abbas said he will be sending a letter to Netanyahu with his demands for resuming negotiations. In case of a negative response, Abbas said he will resume the campaign for recognition of a state of Palestine by the UN.

Abbas harshly condemned Netanyahu and said that he did not present any serious proposal during the talks in Jordan, and blamed Netanyahu for failing to make any significant trust building steps toward the Palestinians. Abbas claimed that Netanyahu did offer to impose another settlement freeze, but one that only includes a freeze on new state tenders and not a halt of private construction in the settlements.

Iran has used the visit of Gaza’s Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to offer “scientific and technological experience” to the PA for a “victory” over Israel. Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told Haniyeh Saturday of “the need for Palestinian adherence to the basic principles of resistance as the key ingredient for their victory against Israel,” according to the official Iranian PRESS TV news agency. Haniyeh replied, “Muslims through full unity and with the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran will liberate Al Aqsa mosque [on the Temple Mount] in the future.” Haniyeh is in Iran for the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and is trying to shore up badly needed financial support as well as outflank PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, head of the largely secular and rival Fatah party. The two factions signed an agreement in Doha last week for a new unity government headed by Abbas and without PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Abbas is risking financial support from the European Union by joining Hamas without demanding that it reject terror and that it recognize Israel, although Abbas himself has not done so formally. Iran’s offer of “scientific” assistance to the Palestinian Authority underlines the shared and stated objective of Iran and Hamas to destroy Israel.

NEW DELHI –The wife of an Israeli diplomat in New Delhi and her driver were injured on Monday when the car they were traveling in was bombed, officials said. A second attempted bombing was defused outside the Israeli embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, at about the same time.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately blamed Iran, which has vowed revenge for the recent assassinations of several scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear program. Hezbollah, which receives funding and strong support from Iran, also had promised to avenge the assassination of one of its leaders, Imad Moughniyeh, who was killed in a car bombing in Damascus on Feb. 12, 2008.

Ticking off places where he said recent attacks on Jews and Israelis had been thwarted, including Azerbaijan and Thailand, Netanyahu accused Iran of orchestrating the attempts and called the government in Tehran “the greatest exporter of terror in the world.”

Iran's leaders urged the Hamas prime minister of Gaza to continue the Islamic militant group's resistance against Israel and promised support, state TV reported on Sunday. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Hamas' Ismail Haniyeh that Iran would always stand by the Palestinian "resistance" against Israel and warned him against "compromisers." President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his part said it was Iran's "duty" to stand by the Palestinians.

Mexican authorities have seized a record 15 tons of pure methamphetamine in what appears to be the biggest bust in the nation’s history

"The incredible amount of methamphetamine seized in the western state of Jalisco, which was announced late Wednesday drew expressions of astonishment from experts. "It's an historic seizure: more than 15 tons of methamphetamines, five kilos of crystal, and around seven tons of precursor chemicals," said Mexican Army General Gilberto Hernandez Andreu. The bust, with a street value of USD 4 billion, is equivalent to half of all the methamphetamine seizures worldwide in 2009. The drugs could have provided an estimated 13 million doses and were found on a small ranch outside of Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city."
