Headline:  Confirmed: Israel to Supply Gas to Egypt in $4 Billion Deal

An Israeli firm will supply Egypt with natural gas, a company spokesman said Monday, more than two years after sabotage halted the flow of Egyptian gas to Israel. For more than a decade Israel relied on Egypt for roughly 40 percent of its gas needs in line with an export accord signed in 2005 by the two countries which are bound by a peace treaty. But in April 2012 Egypt annulled the contract, saying Israel had not met the financial obligations of the agreement, in a decision that came amid a spate of bomb attacks that targeted the pipeline used to transport natural gas to Israel and Jordan. On Sunday the Israeli owners of the Tamar offshore gas field informed the Tel Aviv stock exchange they had struck a deal to export natural gas to the Egyptian firm Dolphinus Holdings. A statement said Tamar was in “exclusive negotiations” with Dolphinus Holdings to provide it with up to 2.5 billion cubic metres (bcm) over a seven-year span.

Headline:     Palestinians attack new E.Jerusalem settler homes

Palestinians hurled Molotov cocktails at an apartment building in a flashpoint east Jerusalem neighborhood just hours after it was taken over by Jewish settlers, police said Tuesday. No one was injured in the incident in the Silwan neighborhood late Monday, which saw a gang of Palestinians firing flares and throwing petrol bombs at the building, a police statement said. No serious damage was caused and no arrests were made. The building was one of two structures housing 10 apartments that were taken over by Jewish settlers before dawn on Monday, sparking fierce local opposition. Such takeovers have also been strongly condemned by the international community.

Headline:     Hamas admits rebuilding tunnel network in wake of Gaza conflict

Hamas’ military wing, the Izz a-Din al-Qassam Brigades, is openly stating that the group is rebuilding the network of tunnels used for terror attacks, which was largely demolished by the IDF during the summer’s conflict in Gaza. A reporter for the Gaza-based newspaper Al-Resalah was visited a tunnel site Sunday, where he was shown the diggers hard at work repairing a tunnel bombed by IAF planes during Operation Protective Edge. The commander of the digging team, Abu-Khaled, said that the tunnel’s repairs had started “during one of the humanitarian ceasefires reached during the war.”

Headline:     Ya’alon to U.N. Chief: Israel Won’t Allow Gaza Reconstruction if Terror Tunnels Rebuilt

Israel will not allow the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip if Hamas continues to use construction materials to build terror tunnels, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon told U.N. Secretary Ban Ki-moon during a meeting in New York on Monday. Ya’alon and Ban discussed the outcome of Israel’s Operation Protective Edge in Gaza and the continuing presence of U.N. peacekeepers in volatile areas along the Jewish state’s northern border. “We want the residents of Gaza to live in dignity and prosperity, rebuild their homes, and return to normal life,” Ya’alon said. “But, we are very worried. Just yesterday Hamas representatives said they intend to reconstruct the infiltration tunnels, instead of rebuilding the homes of Gaza’s residents.”

Headline:     Syrian mortar hits Israeli Golan Heights

Headline:     Will the UN Return Forces to the Golan Heights?

A mortar fired from Syria landed in Israeli Golan Heights near the border on Tuesday morning. There were no injuries or damage. The explosive is believed to have been fired as part of the more than three-year-old Syrian civil war. Heavy fighting between troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad and rebel forces has recently resumed near the Quneitra crossing on the border between Israel and Syria. Meanwhile, The UN Security Council on Monday held an assessment of the situation in the Golan Heights, and discussed the possibility of returning UN forces to the Syrian side of the Golan after they fled to the Israeli side a month ago. Speaking at the UN headquarters after the meeting, Argentinian Ambassador to the UN Maria Cristina Perceval told the Filipino-based Rappler that there is no definite timeline for the return of the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) to the area. Forces were pulled after Syrian rebel forces took over UN positions

Headline: Jordan said working to prevent Jewish prayer at Temple Mount

Jordan’s King Abdullah II and other Jordanian government officials have been working to ensure that the Israeli Knesset does not ratify a bill that would allow Jews to pray at the Temple Mount, a Jordanian official said Tuesday. Khalid al-Shawabka, Jordan’s Ambassador to the Palestinian territories, claimed that Israeli MKs were attempting to pass a resolution which would effectively divide the compound between Muslims and Jews, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported. “Jordan’s foreign minister has sent strongly-worded messages to foreign ministers of member states of the UN Security Council and to the UN demanding an end to the systematic assaults on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and on worshipers,” al-Shawabka told the news agency in an interview. “[T]he Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem are red lines,” al-Shawabka said, using a Muslim name for the compound. He added that the situation on the ground in the Israeli capital was “unacceptable,” though he did not elaborate.

Headline:   Trucks from Bekaa caught in crossfire in Syria, two dead

One Lebanese driver was wounded and two Syrians killed after trucks from the Bekaa Valley were caught up in crossfire at the Syria-Jordan border late Monday. The refrigerated trucks were transporting goods from Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley to the Gulf when they were caught up in a battle between the Syrian Army and rebels as they were about to cross into Jordan through the Nasib border crossing. There were at least 130 trucks waiting to cross when battles erupted in Nasib, a government-controlled border crossing surrounded by territory held by Syrian rebels. At least four trucks were completed burned, Tarshishi said. “The trucks were all carrying Lebanese products, fruits and vegetables, destined for the Gulf countries,” Tarshishi said. He said that communication with the truckers was completely cut off since Monday night due to the raging battle.

Headline:   Abdallah Azzam Brigades calls on Sunnis to fight Army

The “emir” of the Abdallah Azzam Brigades Sirajeddine Zureiqat called Tuesday for Sunnis of Lebanon to fight the Army if soldiers entered their areas and homes. “Sunni people of Lebanon; forbid the Army from entering your areas, raiding the homes of Muslims or the refugee camps,” Zureiqat posted on his official Twitter account, “regardless of the motives [of the raids].” Zureiqat’s recent call contradicted the one he made last week, in which he asked the group’s supporters to target Hezbollah and not soldiers. In Tuesday’s statement, the emir appeared to have changed his mind. “This Army only understands the language of force, and so does its master, the party of Iran,” Zureiqat added. “So answer any Army attack with arms and fire.”

Headline:  Blast kills 7 in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula

At least a roadside bomb in the restive Sinai Peninsula has killed seven Egyptian security force personnel and seriously wounded four, medical and security sources said.
They were killed by a remotely detonated roadside bomb on Sunday that exploded as a patrol responsible for protecting a natural gas pipeline passed by, the sources said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The blast occurred southwest of provincial capital Al-Arish where two policemen were killed when their patrol car was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade three days ago. The explosion ripped through the military armored vehicle traveling south of Al-Arish, which is the provincial capital of northern Sinai. The troops were heading to an area to comb it for suspected militant activities. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters.

Headline: Egypt PM says no plan for military action against ISIS

Egypt has no plans to provide the United States with direct military assistance in its war against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) even though American aerial bombardment may not be enough to defeat the group, the country’s prime minister said. But Ibrahim Mehleb left open the possibility of military action if Cairo’s Gulf Arab allies are threatened by the al-Qaeda offshoot. With one of the biggest armies in the Middle East and wide experience in battling militancy, Egypt is regarded as a vital ally for the United States, which provides billions of dollars in annual aid to Cairo. Mehleb said Egypt’s priority is ensuring stability at home, where security officials face resilient jihadist insurgents based in the Sinai Peninsula and regard militants in neighboring Libya as a serious threat.

Syria Headline:  Syria air force strikes 200 times in 36 hours

The Syrian air force carried out more than 200 air strikes around the country in the past 36 hours, a group monitoring the war said on Tuesday, a rapid increase in government raids as US-led forces bomb Islamist insurgents elsewhere. The intensified strikes by President Bashar Assad’s forces will add to the fear among his opponents that the government is taking advantage of the US raids on Islamic State to attack other foes, including opposition groups that Washington backs. Analysts say the increase could be because the Syrian military wants to weaken rebel groups before they get training and equipment promised by the United States.

Iraq Headline:  ISIL militants capture two districts in Iraq’s Nineveh Province

The ISIL Takfiri militants have taken control of two districts in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh as the Iraqi army has been battling the terrorists for nearly six months now. Iraqi military sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the ISIL members seized two districts in the town of Sinjar, situated over 400 kilometers (250 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad, on Monday. They added that the Takfiri terrorists have besieged civilian houses in these districts. This is while Kurdish Peshmerga forces defending Sinjar are trying to stop the militants’ advancement. Meanwhile, Izadi military officials have called on the Iraqi government to provide them with ammunition and secure the aerial space over Mount Sinjar. Also on Monday, an unnamed Iraqi security source said the ISIL militants are laying siege to about 700 Izadi families on Mount Sinjar.

Qara Tappa Iraq

Iraq Headline: Islamic State insurgents advance into Iraqi town of Qara Tappa

Islamic State militants advanced on the Iraqi town of Qara Tappa on Monday disguised as Kurdish peshmerga fighters, Kurdish security sources said. They seized two Kurdish villages after surprising the Kurdish fighters before launching the attack on Qara Tappa, 120 km (75 miles) north of Baghdad, seeking to expand their territory and heap pressure on Kurdish forces in disputed areas. “The terrorists were wearing peshmerga uniforms and this tactic helped them to easily infiltrate our defenses near Qara Tappa,” a peshmerga officer said on condition of anonymity. Reinforcements were sent from the Kurdish-controlled city of Khanaqin to repel the insurgents and prevent the town of Qara Tappa from falling, the sources said. The Kurdish security officers and residents said the militants approached Qara Tappa from the nearby towns of Saadiya and Jalawla, which they had already wrested from Kurdish control. Peshmerga officers and medical officials said at least 15 people were killed, including seven peshmerga fighters and eight residents.

Kurdish Headline: US sends lethal aid to Kurdish forces fighting ISIS in Kobani

Kurdish Headline: Islamic State fighters seize weapons cache airdropped by U.S.-led coalition forces meant for Kurds

The Pentagon has publicly acknowledged an air-drop of lethal aid to Kurdish rebels fighting the hardline Islamic State in the pivotal Syrian-Turkish border town of Kobani, shortly after news of considerable gains made against the terrorists there. The Sunday delivery, which also contained other supplies, comes on the heels of renewed US airstrikes on Syria and Iraq’s oil infrastructure in a bid to cripple the terrorist group’s hold on it. Eleven of the strikes were on the Kobani area overnight. A brief statement by US Central Command said US Air Force C-130 aircraft “delivered weapons, ammunition and medical supplies that were provided by Kurdish authorities in Iraq and intended to enable continued resistance against ISIL’s [Islamic State, formerly ISIS/ISIL] attempts to overtake Kobani.” A total of 27 drops with supplies were delivered, another official stated. The aircraft left the Syrian air space following the operation. On the Kurdish side, a spokesman acknowledged delivery of large quantities of ammunition, weapons and medical aid on Monday. The announcement followed another brief statement that “good news” would soon be released.

Headline: Canadian Soldier Killed After Being Run Over by Islamist

One of two Canadian soldiers run over by an Islamist extremist has died from his wounds Tuesday morning, according to NBC news. Late Monday night, Canadian police shot dead the attacker – a “homegrown” jihadist fanatic – after the 25 year-old man attacked soldiers without warning in a parking lot in his hometown. Martin Couture-Rouleau, a resident of the town of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu 40 km (24 miles) from Montreal, attempted to run over two soldiers late Monday night. Rouleau had allegedly called the police in the middle of the attack, according to the Le Paris newspaper, claiming it had been “in the name of Allah.” A 4-km (2.4 mile) car chase ensued, ending when the assailant’s car turned over into a ditch. Police were forced to shoot him dead after he ran at them with a knife. While Quebec police did not say whether the soldiers were in uniform, it has been confirmed that one was critically injured. The murdered soldier’s name has not been released at the request of his family.

Three American teenage girls from Colorado have been detained in Germany while reportedly on their way to Syria to join ISIS. The girls are 15 and 16 years old and are believed to be of Somali descent. The trio were reported missing last Friday from their homes in Denver and tracked to Frankfurt by the FBI. The girls were trying ‘to fulfill what they believe is some vision that has been put out on a slick media campaign’ by radical groups in Syria, including ISIS, a law enforcement official told ABC News today. The official added there are other cases of high school age teenagers trying to get to Syria that have not been made public.

Headline: NATO intercepts Russian jets over Baltic Sea

NATO scrambled fighter jets twice in two days to intercept Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea, it said Tuesday amid reports that Russian military activity in the region is increasing. Lt. Col. Robert Gericke said the Russian aircraft were flying in international airspace and had not violated the territory of alliance members. Two Canadian F-18 Hornet jets were scrambled from the Siauliai Air Base in Lithuania on Monday to intercept a Russian Ilyushin-20 surveillance aircraft, which they shadowed for some 15 minutes, NATO said. “Once identification was successful, the intercept mission was completed and the two Hornets returned to their base,” a NATO statement said. Earlier, the Latvian military tweeted that NATO F-16 jets were dispatched on Tuesday to intercept a Russian Ilyushin-20 surveillance aircraft over the Baltic Sea. Gericke confirmed that NATO jets had also intercepted a Russian aircraft that day, but could not immediately provide more details. NATO, which has 16 fighter jets in the region monitoring Baltic airspace, said it regularly launches jets to identify “unknown or potentially hostile aircraft” in the proximity of national airspace.

Headline:   Senator Mark Kirk: Congress Will Not Support ‘Obama-Khamenei’ Nuclear Deal

The Obama administration reportedly wants to cut Congress out of any nuclear deal with Iran – at least for the short-term — fearing they would lose if any measure to lift sanctions came to a vote. Though the White House is pushing back on the claims, The New York Times reports that the Treasury Department already has examined the issue and determined President Obama has the authority to “suspend” most sanctions currently imposed on Iran without a vote by Congress. It would take an act of Congress to permanently lift those sanctions. But the Times reports that Obama advisers have concluded they’d probably lose such a vote, even if Democrats hold the Senate in next month’s elections. Instead, the administration could try to unilaterally suspend sanctions, if a deal with Iran is reached.

Headline:   Iran says to defend Baghdad, no need for ‘foreign’ troops

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday told Iraq’s visiting premier that the Baghdad government is capable of defeating Islamic State (IS) without “foreign” troops being deployed, offering further Iranian military help. “We stand beside you and will seriously defend your government like the previous government,” Khamenei said in a meeting in Tehran with Iraq’s Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi. “Iran recognises the security of Iraq, (our) neighbour and brother country, as its own security,” Khamenei said, quoted by state television. The all-powerful Iranian leader said he believed that Iraqis had “the capacity to overcome the terrorists and establish security” alone without the “need for foreign presence”. To counter an offensive launched by IS on June 9, Iran has supplied Iraqi Kurds with weapons and sent military advisers to Baghdad, while denying it has deployed ground troops. But in early October, Iranian television published a rare picture of its elite Quds Force chief, Major General Qassem Suleimani, in an Iraqi battlefield alongside Kurdish peshmerga forces.

Headline:   Afghan officials: Attacks by insurgents on army, police checkpoints kill at least 4 troops

Officials say insurgents have attacked several army checkpoints in eastern and southern Afghanistan, killing at least four troops and wounding several people. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which happened Sunday, but the Taliban have stepped up assaults on Afghan and NATO forces ahead of the pullout of most foreign combat troops by the end of the year. Headline: Libyan army instructed to ‘liberate’ Tripoli

Libya’s interim government on Tuesday ordered army troops to launch a military operation aimed at “liberating” capital Tripoli from armed militias. In a statement, the government said it had ordered the army to “liberate” Tripoli – and the state institutions located therein – from armed groups. It called on young Libyans in Tripoli and its outskirts “to join hands with the army to liberate yourselves, your families and your city.” The interim government went on to accuse local militias of destroying public and private property in the city, torturing residents and attacking the homes of government officials. It also vowed to prosecute the speaker of Libya’s former interim parliament and the head of the country’s “illegitimate government” – now based in Tripoli – for “staging a coup” against the legitimate authority.

Headline:   Algeria-Morocco : tension flares up

The firing at about a dozen Moroccans at the border by Algerian forces on Saturday is increasing tensions between Algiers and Rabat. The firing caused no casualties but one person was seriously injured. Morocco is accusing Algeria of continuing to commit provocative acts that will hamper the management of the border. The Moroccan Foreign Ministry described the firing as an “attack on the life of Moroccan civilians by the Algerian Army” while Algeria alleged that Morocco distorted the incident. Several members of the Moroccan cabinet held a press conference to give clarifications on the border shooting. These included Foreign Minister Salah Eddine Mezouar, Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad and Communication Minister Mustapha Khalfi. Mezouar who described the attack as “unprecedented escalation” said it is a culmination of a series of previous incidents by the Algerian authorities at the borders. Such an incident “affects the norms of neighborliness” and “is incompatible with the norms of humanitarian and international human rights” with regards to border issues, he said.

Turkey is to allow Iraqi Kurdish fighters to cross the Syrian border to fight Islamic State (IS) militants in Kobane, in what is being seen as a policy reversal. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said talks on the subject were continuing. Tens of thousands of people have fled months of fighting in Kobane between IS forces and Syrian Kurd defenders. The announcement came shortly after the US carried out air drops of weapons to the town’s Kurdish fighters. Meanwhile the US-led coalition has carried out its first air strike of the day, against IS positions in the south-west of the town, says the BBC’s Kasra Naji on the Turkish border. US Central Command later confirmed six strikes near Kobane over Sunday and Monday, as well as six in Iraq near Falluja and Baiji involving French and UK aircraft.

nation against nationCooltextprophecysignLuke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword.  Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions)   Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)

At least 20 fighters from the Shia Houthi Ansarullah movement have lost their lives in a fresh fighting with al-Qaeda-linked militants in southern Yemen. Yemeni tribal sources said on Monday that the deadly clashes broke out in the strategic town of Rada’ in the province of al-Bayda. The al-Qaeda-linked militants also seized 12 Ansarullah fighters during the clashes. Houthi fighters have been making advances in Yemen’s restive south, taking control of the towns of Yarim and Rada’.  Al-Qaeda-linked militants were controlling the towns for nearly two years. The Ansarullah fighters have been sending reinforcements to the south, near al-Qaeda strongholds, in an attempt to drive the terrorists out of the area. Meanwhile, A suicide car bomb on Monday targeted a house used by Shiite Houthi rebels in a town south of Sanaa, killing at least 10 and injuring 15, security officials said, in an attack that bore all the hallmarks of Al Qaeda. The officials said the bombing in the Radaa area in Baydah province hit the house of Abdullah Idris, a top local official with the party of ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Headline: HK court orders protesters to leave district

Hong Kong’s High Court has ordered anti-election law protesters occupying streets in the Mong Kok residential and commercial district to leave the area. The protesters were ordered to disband as of Monday evening. Justice Jeremy Poon Shiu-chor accepted the arguments of lawyers for the plaintiffs that the occupations have continued for a long time and had caused public nuisance and “inconvenience.” The judge added that the prolonged occupation could lead to more violence between police and protesters in the area. Chief Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch, Hui Chun-tak, said Monday afternoon that protesters in Mong Kok had “held umbrellas in their hands and posed to charge police cordons.”

North and South Korea exchanged gunfire on Sunday when the North’s soldiers approached the military border and did not retreat after the South fired warning shots, the South Korean Defence Ministry said. The North’s soldiers fired back in an exchange of gunfire that lasted about 10 minutes but the situation did not escalate, a ministry official said.”There were no casualties or property damage,” the official said. The incident was the latest in a series of confrontations in recent weeks between the rival Koreas, that remain technically at war, and follows an urgent meeting between senior military officials on Wednesday to discuss how to ease tensions. The North’s soldiers on Saturday approached the so-called Military Demarcation Line that separates the countries but retreated after the South fired warning shots, the official added.

The Defense Department said Sunday that it is preparing a quick-response medical team to help health-care professionals should the Ebola virus spread in the United States. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered the training of the 30-member team and said the effort was in response to a Department of Health and Human Services request. Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said the move is “an added, prudent measure to ensure our nation is ready to respond quickly, effectively and safely in the event of additional Ebola cases.” The military is already assisting in efforts to stop the spread of Ebola in West Africa, where roughly 4,300 people have died so far this year from the virus. Last week, six U.S. military planes delivered more supplies and 100 Marines to West Africa. The Marines’ arrival means roughly 300 U.S. service members are now in the region, said Maj. Gen. Darryl A. Williams, the commander leading the U.S. response.

Headline: 300,000 people in U.S. have Chagas disease as country unsure how to deal with growing threat

As the world continues to grapple with the Ebola epidemic raging in West Africa, there’s growing concern about another invasive disease whose origin is much closer to home. Chagas – along with its cousins Dengue Fever and the Chikungunya virus – is a disease found mainly in Latin America, but is starting to gain a foothold in the U.S. Caused by a parasite inside triatomines, or “kissing bugs,” Chagas causes fever, fatigue, body aches, headache and other symptoms in its early stages, while more severe symptoms such as cardiac arrest and megacolon emerge in its chronic phase. While the disease is found mainly in poor, rural parts of Latin America – the U.S.’s Center for Disease Control estimates that 8 million people in the region live with the disease – isolated cases of Chagas have begun to crop up throughout the U.S. in places like Louisiana, Texas and Virginia. The CDC believes that there are currently 300,000 people infected with Chagas in the U.S., enough for a clinic devoted to diagnosing and treating the disease to open at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and doctors in New York City and Georgia to start screening patients who have travelled to Latin America.

Given the frenzy of interest following the announcement of the Apple Watch, you might think wearables will be the next really important shift in technology. Not so. Wearables will have their moment in the sun, but they’re simply a transition technology. Technology will move from existing outside our bodies to residing inside us. That’s the next big frontier. Here are nine signs that implantable tech is here now, growing rapidly, and that it will be part of your life (and your body) in the near future:

Implantable smartphones

Healing chips

Cyber pills that talk to your doctor

Bill Gates’ implantable birth control

Smart tattoos

Brain-computer interface

Meltable bio-batteries
