I’ve said before that there is no more Syria or Iraq- there is only ISIS. Yet there are still people and governments involved- Assad, the Iraqi government, the Kurds, etc.
I’ve shown you the possible blueprints of prophecy in ISIS 5 year plan. IF- and please note I am saying IF- it comes to pass, ISIS will encompass every country listed in the Ezekiel War.
The whole world wonders what to do about ISIS. On September 3rd, I tackled WHY we can’t help anyone in Syria- not Assad nor the FSA.
So let’s turn our attention to the Kurds…or Kurdistan.
Kurdistan (the Kurds), is an autonomous region that no one in the world wants to acknowledge as a separate country. The ‘president’ of Kurdistan is Barzani and his nephew is the Prime Minister. I’ve shown you maps before of what the Kurds consider to be their country
The ‘peshmerga’ are ANY armed Kurdish fighters (I am not including the PKK in this, as they are a designated terrorist organization). The peshmerga are led by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Kurdish president Barzani), which is the main party of Iraqi Kurdistan.
Many countries have been very hesitant is arming the peshmerga and here’s the bottom line as to why: to do this would acknowledge an independent Kurdistan and all that implies. The Iraqi government, the Syrian government, the Arab League, Turkey, Iran, ad infinitum ALL refuse to acknowledge an independent Kurdistan. To do so would not only ‘carve’ up their countries, it would wreak havoc on their power bases. The ‘official’ governments involved in this nightmare that is ISIS have not asked for international help and have often put conditions on the help that is offered. If the world ‘arms’ the peshmerga, they have basically ignored the countries who do not want an independent Kurdistan, thereby incurring their wrath.
The Kurds have been around for thousands of years. They were ‘spotlighted’ during the Iraq War, after which they were given their “autonomous region”. As always, we must go to God’s Word to seek direction. Does God have a plan for the Kurds? Let’s take a look:
Most everyone is familiar with Revelation 18 “After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” This shows us that Babylon will be the epicenter of evil in the last days of history, and will eventually face the judgment of God.
Now let’s look at some Scripture:
Isaiah 13:17 — “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.”
Isaiah 13:4– “The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.“
Jeremiah 50:3– “For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.”
Jeremiah 51:11– “Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the Lord hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance of his temple.”
Jeremiah 51:28-29– “ Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion. And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant. ”
Is this to say that Jeremiah 50 and 51 have NOT been fulfilled, but will be fulfilled in these End Times? Not necessarily. The description of the capture of Babylon is mentioned in Jeremiah 50:2, and this capture is predicted to be the act of a nation (50:3a) or nations (50:9) coming from the north. In the next chapter, Jeremiah goes on to identify the specific identity of this nation, leaving no room for speculation what that nation would be. Jeremiah 51:28 recognizes the agent of Babylon’s capture to be the Medes. Historically it did turn out that the Medes invaded Babylon, as the Scripture attests in Daniel 5:31 and collaborated by other historical documents. BUT…
Although Babylon was conquered by the Medes and the Persians (just two nations) in ancient times, it was conquered in such a way it was never destroyed.
Have the walls of Babylon been destroyed? When was the city torched and never again to have any residence? History attests that Babylon survived beyond the Medes-Persian era. Not only was Babylon still inhabited during the Persian and Hellenistic period, but its great city walls were still standing according to many sources. Jeremiah 50-51 predicts Babylon’s final destruction will include her city walls taken down, the city itself to be destroyed into a burning heap or mountain of fire, and how she will be abandoned from having any inhabitants forever. Since the walls of Babylon still stand today, it seems that there will be a future literal Babylon that will one day rise again to have it’s destruction according to Jeremiah be fully fulfilled.
How exactly will these things come to pass? It’s too soon to tell, but what we DO know is that all the things Jesus told us to watch for are happening every day. With no way to battle ISIS, the peshmerga are looking to be the only option. IF the Lord DOES have a plan for the Kurds in the end times, this will happen NO MATTER what the countries of the world say about an independent Kurdistan. There are no easy answers to these problems. But what we as Christians must remember is that all we see if part of God’s plan. He has stated in His Word (Matthew 5:18) “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
