I've been sitting here at my computer tonight going through some news items as I always do at night when it's quiet, and I've been reading and listening to comments made about the Gulf oil disaster by many experts and others who seem to know what they are talking about and the general consensus is that this leak cannot be stopped even though nobody will come out and admit it. It seems as though the pressure from the oil that is gushing out is so great that it's caused fissures in the ocean floor around the area where the Deepwater well is located and as a result there is oil that is making it's way out through these openings. I read last week that some of the workers that are out in the ocean trying to clean some of the mess up have been saying that they noticed oil plumes away from the well that must be coming from places other than the well. BP has denied this of course and the FAA declared the Gulf area affected by the oil as a "no-fly zone" so there is no way to verify that information. But the important thing is that there appears to be no way to stop the oil from coming out. As we've already witnessed, it's killing wildlife and ruining the coastline along the affected area and this apparently is only the beginning. If they don't stop the leak then there will be worse things to come. Now to the point of why I'm writing you.
I think I have an idea what is going on and why it is happening. I believe that God's hand is in this all the way. Let me quote from Revelation 8:8, 9: “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.” I could never understand how it would be possible for this to take place but I know that it is possible because God tells us so in this verse. And I think He's showing us how it is possible and how He's putting His plan into motion by allowing all of this to take place. It seems almost as though the ocean is being "primed" for this future event. Regardless of why this happened and regardless of whether it was intentional or not (I'm sure you've heard the various thoughts and opinions on this), I believe that God is using this incident to set up the fulfillment of the second Trumpet Judgment in Revelation 8:8,9. I believe that it could also be a fulfillment of another prophecy but I'll get to that one in a minute. According to experts and others who know more of the details about what is coming out of that well; there is gas and other poisonous compounds being emitted along with the oil and BP is also still using a highly toxic dispersant which will, and is, killing any living creature in it's path.

Notice in this article that the oil is depleting oxygen levels in the water. Just imagine the devastation if a third of the ocean is filled with oil which I believe is quite realistic in this situation. There is the very real possibility that another part of the seafloor could rupture and there is also the possibility that if they don't find a way to stop the oil that is gushing from the well (which is impossible) the friction from the particles in the oil itself and the sand that is also shooting out of the well will eventually erode what is left of the well away completely.

If this is the case then I imagine that eventually this oil will not just be confined to the shores of the United States. If the meteorologists are correct in their forecasts of an especially active hurricane season then I think it's quite possible that this oil and the other deadly compounds associated with this disaster (including the dispersants) would eventually spread out to cover the entire east coast as they are predicting even now and maybe even make it's way to the west coast. And IF what I'm saying is correct then it appears as though God will wait until a third of the ocean fills up with oil before that "great mountain burning with fire (whatever that may be)" is cast into the sea. Since the oil sits on the surface it's not hard to imagine the consequences if something were to ignite it.

This would explain why there are no real efforts being made to clean up the oil. Why spend the money on a lost cause. They know there is no solution to this problem. Now for the part where you may think I'm a nut. It was reported last week that the oil had reached the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida.
The really interesting part is where this waterway leads to. I copied the following information from the Columbia Encyclopedia: "Intracoastal Waterway, c.3,000 mi (4,827 km) long, partly natural, partly artificial, providing sheltered passage for commercial and leisure boats along the U.S. Atlantic coast from Boston, Mass. to Key West, S Fla., and along the Gulf of Mexico coast from Apalachee Bay, NW Fla., to Brownsville, Tex., on the Rio Grande. The toll-free waterway, authorized by Congress in 1919, is maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers at a minimum depth of 12 ft (4 m) for most of its length; some parts have 7-ft (2.1-m) and 9-ft (2.7-m) minimum depths. Among some of the waterway's most often used canals along the Atlantic route are the Chesapeake & Delaware and the Chesapeake & Albemarle; along the Gulf route the most used are the New Orleans-Rigolets Cut, the Port Arthur-Corpus Christi Channel, and the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal at New Orleans. The separate Okeechobee Waterway, S Fla., crosses the Florida peninsula. Plans to build a canal across N Florida to link the Atlantic and Gulf sections were blocked in 1971 by a presidential order to prevent potential environmental damage. Many miles of navigable waterways connect with the coastal system, including the Hudson River-New York State Canal System, the Chesapeake Bay, the sounds of North Carolina, the Savannah River, the Apalachicola River, and the entire Mississippi River system. The Intracoastal Waterway has a good deal of commercial activity; barges haul petroleum, petroleum products, foodstuffs, building materials, and manufactured goods." Now for the crazy – or maybe not so crazy part. Referring back to that video link that we listened to about the methane gas buildup which is causing the seabed around the well to bulge….I wonder what would happen if or when it blows. Might it possibly cause a ripple effect along the ocean floor and possibly track north along the eastern seaboard? Might it cause the tectonic plates around the U.S. to shift in a way that might cause severe earthquakes to take place……possibly all over the world? Might all of these things cause a tsumani or tsunamis that would wipe out a large portion of the southern and possibly even the eastern seaboard of the United States? Coincidentally, in the last week or so I've seen two different descriptions of this disaster in the regular news media. One of the news sources called it "apocalyptic" and another one said it was an "Armageddon" event. I have a feeling they are both correct. So what I'm leading up to with all this is might it also be possible that this could lead up to the fulfillment of Revelation 17 &18? In Revelation 17:16,17 we read that the beast and the "ten horns" will bring Babylon to ruin. I know that there has been much discussion and disagreement over the identity of the latter day "Babylon." The question that comes to mind in regards to this is why the beast and the ten horns would hate the prostitute as mentioned in verse 16. Could it be that by destroying New York/Manhattan thus destroying the United Nations that this would be another step in the shift in power from the United States to the Revived Roman Empire. Right now the United Nations has more say and more power on world issues especially when it comes to Israel than the European Union does. Maybe by the destruction of New York and United Nations and possibly even the a large chunk of the United States as a result of this possible stage setting which may be taking place as a result of this oil catastrophe this would give the Antichrist and the EU uncontested power to rule the world? "For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish His purpose by agreeing to give the beat their power to rule, until God's words are fulfilled." Rev 17 sounds a bit like science fiction but it since this book was given to John directly for Christ you should pay extra attention to the detail. Could the Lord be be using this catastrophe to show us that the tribulation is about to begin? I want to break from all of this for a moment to show you some things that I find to be quite interesting in regards to Manhattan.
I pulled up Manhattan on Wikipedia and after reading Revelation 18 again tonight I skimmed through the information on Manhattan and some things caught my attention. To me, anyway, it does seem to fit the description of the latter day Babylon and I know you've heard and read the comparisons before. First, in the section "CULTURE" we learn that the term "melting pot" was first used in 1908 to describe the diversity of cultures and tongues in Manhattan but more specifically to the Lower East Side. The United Nations is located on the East side of Manhattan. In the "LANDMARKS AND ARCHITECTURE" section it's easy to see that Manhattan is literally the heart of all of New York City. And I mean the HEART of it. The World Trade Center was located there. The "ECONOMY" section informs us that one of the largest and most powerful financial districts in the world is located here in Manhattan. Lastly, we also learn from the section "DEMOGRAPHICS" that the largest religious affiliation in Manhattan is the Roman Catholic Church and right behind that the Jews comprise the second largest religious group with a population of over 300,000 persons in 102 congregations. The New York City metropolitan area is home to the largest Jewish community outside Israel, and the city proper contains the largest Jewish community in the world. Revelation 18:4,5 says, "Then I heard another voice from heaven say 'Come out of her my people, so that you may not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled into heaven, and God has remembered her crimes." My intention in mentioning my thoughts on the modern day Babylon isn't to start up a debate on whether it actually is or isn't the Babylon referred to in Revelation because I really don't know but the reason I mention it is because I don't think it can be totally ruled out either. The debate on modern day Babylon has been an ongoing one and I don't see a need to extend that debate. This may be something we may never know because we will have been Raptured out before it comes to pass anyway regardless of where it is. But it sounds like if the oil travels up the eastern seaboard via the Intracoastal Waterway and and also by way of the loop currents around Florida and up the east coast; eventually Manhattan will be sitting in a pool of oil. It won't happen overnight if it happens at all because I'm sure it will take some time for a third of the ocean to fill with oil if this is what this disaster is leading up to.
It's hard to imagine that a disaster of this scale and magnitude doesn't have a prophetic implication attached to it. To me it seems like God is telling us to pay attention because He is speaking to us. His is showing us something. I read in Daniel 12 verses 9 and 10 the following: "He replied, 'Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand."
I wonder if Revelation 8:8,9 is one of those things that we've been reading for so many years but could never really understand how it might happen, but is finally being revealed to us because we are at the time God has chosen to reveal it to us. Oh sure, I've read the explanation that the second trumpet probably refers to a large meteorite that strikes the ocean and all that but that doesn't explain why only a third of the sea life dies and all the other things take place and everything is affected by only a third. I think the missing ingredient in the explanations that I've read, anyway, in regards to this prophecy is the oil. If a meteor or missile or whatever would strike a large body of oil it would cause a massive explosion and along with that the surface of the ocean would catch on fire – or at least the part of the ocean that is filled with the oil – a third part of it. This would without a doubt be followed up very quickly by a tsunami the likes of which the world has never seen. "Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said: 'With such violence the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to be found again." Rev 18:21 As for the timing of when this prophecy would take place I would assume it would be at some time after the city of Jerusalem has been divided and parts of Israel handed over to the Palestinians which would also mean that the Antichrist would be present and we will be attending the marriage supper of the Lamb. I think that everybody is in agreement that the United Nations will play a large role in the dividing of Israel and Jerusalem and this will bring the full fury of God's wrath. If, and again I say, If this is how God is going to fulfill this prophecy then I would imagine that the oil would need to come out even more quickly than it already is in order to fill the ocean by a third. This would mean, unfortunately, that the ocean floor would probably need to rupture creating a larger exit for the oil to pass through. Maybe the oil pocket they hit only has enough oil in it to fill a third part of the ocean. I don't think the oil contained in this pocket or chamber is limitless because the scriptures tell us that "only" a third part will be destroyed.
So the second trumpet deals with the ocean and the third trumpet deals with the rivers and other water sources that people use in everyday life but that judgment more than likely won't be revealed, again, until the appropriate time – in God's time. I think I should close this out now and I'd like to do that by referring to Daniel 12:1-4. " 1At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge." I have to admit that I've read this verse before but never really thought too much about it and the only reason I'm including it now is because in the course of writing this letter and referencing the various scriptures from Daniel I just kind of stumbled on it. I'm sure you have more insights on it than I do but what I take from this is this is describing the Rapture of the Church and that it will happen at a time of great distress. I would say the situation we currently find ourselves in fits the bill here and even more so because we haven't even come close to seeing the full extent of the possible destruction this will cause. I'm too tired right now to research this verse any further so I've just told you what I think and I'll leave it at that. I actually started writing this last night (Wednesday night) and wasn't going to break from it until I finished it and sent it to you but at 5:30 this morning I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and I slept until about 10:30 and now I'm back at it again. I'm still pretty tired so instead of continuing any farther and making a total fool of myself if I haven't already I'd better close it out.
Anyway, following along with my train of thought I'm beginning to wonder if the United States might be taken out of the picture as a result of this oil disaster and we Christians raptured away before the Mideast wars start. Not knowing what the total effect of what would happen should the ocean floor burst or explode releasing all that oil and gasses and possibly causing massive earthquakes and tsunamis, it would seem like it is something that could be considered. And for a "final touch" I suppose it would also be quite possible for an enemy sub to launch some sort of missile that would level New York City and wipe it off the map. Actually, the 'wiping off the map' part would be accomplished by the angel who throws that boulder into the sea in Rev 18:21. With the U.S. or a large portion of the U.S. destroyed it would more than likely embolden the enemies of Israel to attack it and could also explain why Israel is going to be fighting alone as told to us in Ezekiel.
This letter is nothing more than "food for thought." I may be way out in left field on this but then again maybe I'm not. In any case it gives us all something more to think about as we watch together how all of this is going to unfold. I'm fully expecting to hear the trumpet call of God at any moment now and this has convinced me more than ever that it is going to happen very soon.
It is my prayer that my work for Jesus has guided you to accept Christ as your Savior. If this is the case, you can begin your new walk by saying this prayer. Notice I said begins your walk. Once you make a commitment to Christ pour out your heart to Him and let Him help you grow in His ways. Seek out a Church where they teach the entire Bible, and join in the Lord’s fellowship. We are much to close to the Lord’s second coming to be a lukewarm Christian.
Heavenly Father, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe in you and that you’re Word is true. I believe and accept Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God, and that he died on the cross so that I may now have forgiveness from my sins and have eternal life in the Name of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that without you in my heart my life is meaningless and I am without hope and would be cast into hell. I believe in my heart that you, Lord God, raised Jesus from the dead, and Jesus is alive and waiting to come back for all who have abided in Him. Please, Jesus, forgive me, for every sin I have ever committed, past, present, and even future. Please, Lord Jesus, forgive me and come into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior today. I need you to be my Father and my Lord. I give you my life and ask you to take full control from this moment on. I do repent of all my sins, and I ask you Lord to help me become a good and faithful servant. I thank you for adding my name into your Book of Life. I know this is the first step in our new relationship, and I ask you now Jesus to teach me the way to live my life for you, and please help and guide me so I will abide in you from this day forward. I now ask you to direct me to a fellowship where I may begin to grow in you. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
