The day my Brother Al was to be honored at his star dedication, knowing that there would be many Hollywood stars at the dedication I prayed and asked Jesus if I could speak at this dedication. I wanted to be able to give a message that would honor Jesus. The night before the night before the dedication Al received a phone call telling him one of the guest speakers could not make it. I told Al I would like to say a few things, but Al told me the organizers had control of the event but he would ask them. Later that evening Al got another call telling them that I could speak for 5-7 minutes. I knew Jesus had opened up the door for me to give glory to Him by giving a speech about my Brother’s life. Because of time limits I knew I would only be able to say a few things so I wrote down notes pin pointing exactly what I wanted to say.
The morning of the dedication Al asked me to drive a car he had built to the dedication. I was suppose to drive the car there and return to change my clothes and pick up my notes. Things went wrong and I couldn’t make it back to the house to get my notes or change but this was all in Christ’s plan for me. Just before the dedication started I grabbed a small piece of paper and wrote down a few notes. I was in a rush and couldn’t remember most of what I wrote down the night before so I was a little up-set. Since I only had 7 minutes I know I wouldn’t be able to get out what I had hoped to say.
Jesus had a different plan for me. Before going up I prayed and asked Jesus to help me with this speech since I didn’t remember most of what I was going to say. When I reached the mic to speak Jesus took over and I didn’t have any problems saying the things I wanted to say. Not only did Jesus help me with the speech I spoke a few seconds short of 15 minutes. My speak turned out to be the longest speech given that day. As I was speaking I could see the people weeping. i knew that Jesus was reaching these people.
For the rest of that day during Al’s celebration I had people coming up to me asking me questions about Jesus. I had a chance to speak to people and even lead someone to Christ in prayer right there at Al’s celebration. I asked Jesus to help me glorify Him, and my prayer was answer ten fold.
