Things are getting so bad in Newark that the mayor has ordered the government to stop buying toilet paper.
It’s part of Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s belt-tightening plans that include reducing most city workers to a 4-day work week and shuttering city pools. Booker estimates that the pool closures alone would save $250,000. He also says that no gas will be purchased for municipal vehicles that are not deemed critically important.
Police officers, firefighters and sanitation workers would not be affected by the furlough plan. City workers were already bracing for furloughs starting in August. The number of unpaid days would increase from 11 to 19 with Booker’s plan.
The city budget shortfall is $70 million and Booker plans to meet the revenue shortfall with budget cuts instead of property tax increases.
"Taxes can not be the answer," Booker said.
Booker says property taxes in Newark have gone up 76 percent in last decade and 19 percent in the past five years.
At the news conference Booker was also quoted as saying, "Call me Mr. Scrooge, if you want, but they’ll be no Christmas decorations around the city."
Booker has proposed a $600 million budget which includes the possibility of laying off as many as 350 police and firefighters.

“Dr. David Blumenthal, the Obama administration’s National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, said on Tuesday that patients can choose to omit procedures such as abortions and positive HIV tests from the electronic health records (EHR) that every American is supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the economic stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year.
“According to CMS’s own regulations issued on July 13, doctors and hospitals must demonstrate “meaningful use” of EHRs to qualify for federal subsidies before 2014.
Among the regulations that Dr. Blumenthal issued last week for health-care providers seeking to demonstrate that they are engaging in “meaningful use” of EHRs is that they:
“Maintain an up-to-date problem list of current and active diagnoses."
The regulations also require the EHRs to include a patient’s "problem list" as well as "procedures."
What a "problem list" must entail is defined in separate
federal regulations – referenced in those issued by Dr. Blumenthal on July 13. These regulations say such a list will include: “(i) Diseases. (ii) Injuries. (iii) Impairments. (iv) Other health problems and their manifestations. (v) Causes of injury, disease, impairment, or other health problems.”
"Procedures" are defined as actions taken with regard to: “(i) Prevention. (ii) Diagnosis. (iii) Treatment. (iv) Management,” of those things listed on the problems list.”

And last, while the helicopter clearly appears to be situated at some height above the boats ahead, the readouts on the dash appear to indicate that that door and ramp are open and the parking brake engaged, not to mention that the pilot appears to be holding a pre-flight checklist:

Below is just one example what is coming! God was right on the money. No other generation could have ever done this until ours came along. It just so happens that all the signs Jesus warned us about are also taking place at the same time, this is a major sign of the last days.
In my May 1, 2010 post I wrote you the following: “Prophecy Sign: The Prophecy in Ezekiel in chapters 38-39 warns the Russia will lead a end times invasion on Israel and Iran will be one of Russia’s main allies in this invasion. Some time ago I told you that Iran would not cave in to U.S. demands to stop building their nuclear weapons program. I also told you that Russia will not go against Iran in this matter. We are getting closer and closer to the two wars which have not been fulfilled yet.”
Once again today’s news shows you I was correct. I was correct because I know what the Lord has shown us about Russia and Iran in the Ezekiel prophecy.
However, DEBKA-Net-Weekly‘s Moscow point out, none of them read Medvedev’s comments right through to the end, which is where he buried the sting of a new Russian posture. Far from seconding American policy on Iran, Moscow has crossed over to the other side and now endorses Iran’s right not only to enrich uranium but to actually acquire nuclear weapons.
Nothing left for dialogue but the size of Iran’s arsenal 
If this is where Moscow (and not just the tough-minded Putin) stands (with China expected to follow), there will not be much left to discuss in September other than the size of Iran’s nuclear arsenal – hardly a cause for celebration in Washington, London, Paris or Jerusalem.
Senior Russian sources familiar with the new position President Medvedev touched on revealed to DEBKA-Net-Weekly that it stemmed most immediately from the outcome of Obama’s talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 6.
They referred in particular to the US president’s consent to grant Israel and its nuclear program the special status the US had awarded the nations of the Nuclear Suppliers Group – NSG.
