Prophecy Sign: News pointing to the Psalm 83 war.
“Israel will pursue its own unilateral steps if the Palestinians do not return to the negotiating table and instead seek UN support for unilateral moves to declare a state within the pre- 1967 lines, a government source told The Jerusalem Post late Thursday night. “If the Palestinians think that unilateral moves are a one-way street, they are sadly mistaken. It is an option that both sides have,” said the source.
“There was some speculation that Israel may be considering reviving aspects of former prime minister Ehud Olmert’s “convergence” ideas for a unilateral withdrawal from isolated parts of the West Bank, evacuating settlements and deploying soldiers there instead.”
“Israel is said to be exploring a number of unilateral options, but the source would not specify which. Other reportedly mooted ideas include the possibility that Israel would no longer seek an “end of conflict” declaration from the Palestinians — which would presumably lower the price of a non-final deal. The Palestinians would get a state in most of the West Bank, with international safeguards about a future deal, but decisions on Jerusalem and refugees would be put off. The Palestinians are said to adamantly reject any such scenario, fearing that they would lose any further leverage and end up with a mini-state.”

“SACRAMENTO, CA (KFSN) — We’re used to hearing about California’s serious budget problems, but there’s another deficit that lawmakers have largely ignored. It’s the shortfall in the state’s unemployment trust fund which is used to pay unemployment benefits and it’s a costly problem. California’s unemployment fund plunged into insolvency in January 2009, but it keeps paying out weekly benefits thanks to several loans from the federal government. Two reports out, one from the Legislative Analyst Office, estimates by the end of next year, the account will be have a $20 billion deficit; another report from the state employment office says the deficit will be more than $13 billion — either way, they spell trouble.”

“Russian gas monopoly Gazprom signed a deal with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) extending the terms of Russian gas supply to China on 27 September but the two sides have still not struck a deal on price. Meanwhile, Russia said it wants to supply its energy hungry neighbor with all its natural gas needs. No dollar value was given to the agreements signed during a state visit by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, but they included documents on cooperation in coal, natural gas, nuclear energy and renewable energy. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin told reporters in Beijing that Russia is in talks with Chinese partners on plans to launch natural gas supplies to China starting in 2015, ITAR-Tass reported. “Russia is ready to meet China’s full demand in gas,” Sechin said.”

MARC, HAITI — At least 142 people have died in a cholera outbreak, and aid groups are rushing in medicine and other supplies Friday to combat Haiti’s deadliest health problem since its devastating earthquake. The outbreak in the rural Artibonite region, which hosts thousands of quake refugees, appeared to confirm relief groups’ fears about sanitation for homeless survivors living in tarp cities and other squalid settlements.”

Prophecy Sign: Matthew 24:9 Christian persecution in the last days.
“A single, 31-year-old woman in Michigan who posted a note on her church bulletin board seeking a "Christian roommate" to share her residence has been cited by the state for violating the Fair Housing Act by discriminating against those of other faiths. The complaint signed by Tyra Khan, a "Civil Rights Representative" of the state of Michigan Department of Civil Rights, surfaced when the Alliance Defense Fund announced today it was representing the woman. ADF spokesman Joel Oster confirmed the organization sent a letter to the state explaining that such housing rules don’t apply to people living in their own homes and wanting to share their resources. "[Tricia] is a single lady looking for a roommate. She is not a landlord. She does not own a management company. She does not run an apartment complex. She is a single person seeking to have a roommate live with her in her house," the letter said. "She is not prohibited by either federal law or state law from seeking a Christian roommate. Neither Title VII of the US Fair Housing Civil Rights Act of 1968 nor the Elliot Larsen Civil Rights Act No. 453 prevents a woman like [her] from seeking a Christian roommate."
