ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA (Worthy News)– More than 500 Muslim students assisted by Muslim police burned down a church in the village of Qoto Baloso, Ethiopia, on Nov. 29. The students screamed "Allahu Akbar" as they set fire to St. Arsema Orthodox Church, which was built on land used by the Christian community for more than 60 years. According to Inspector Mustefa Bashir of Silte Province, police had already ruined the roof after a court ruled that the church was built without a permit, but as for the razing of the church by students, we are investigating to determine those responsible. "The actions of the Muslim police as well as the Muslim students show the growing Islamization of Ethiopia," said Jonathan Racho, ICC Regional Manager for Africa. "We urge the Ethiopian government to stop gross violations of the rights of Christian minorities in areas of the country dominated by Muslims."

“Being aware is nothing when compared to being pure. Purity is of the heart, undeniably sweet and untouchable. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).
We are historically in a period of time we have never visited before, where society is touching the untouchable, where the unthought of has frequently become the norm, brotherhood of man and love of the eternal God have all but exited the stage and where morality has become a mere shadowy conception from a distant era (for any who still have a vague recollection of what that might imply, it could conjure up images from an unknown past – Victorian women in starch white collars extolling brutal punishment on unwitting children in dark classrooms). However much we find these elements of bygone societies disdainful, there is no reason why we should discard all values (so many honourable) from the past. The reality of the present world is selfishness abounding in all its true colours, trials and tribulations increasingly rendering mens hearts cold and lacking in love.
It is only when people understand the moral decay taking place and learn that they can no longer place their hope in society and their fellow beings and turn with a full heart to God, crying out to him from that desperate, empty, lonely place inside of them – that he can let them know that he hears and Loves them. Even to the most conspicuous fool, it is obvious the world we live in can only continue in its perilous decline from one catastrophe to the next. Once God chooses to remove his grace, the resulting nature of humanity will continue to deteriorate until the final curtain will fall on this world as we know it. Thankfully, we can be true to ourselves and each other while we wait in joyful hope for the return of our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.
