Look at the Lord’s warnings Isaiah 24:20 “The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
(CNN) — The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.
"At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass," said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The massive earthquake that struck northeast Japan Friday (March 11) has shortened the length Earth's day by a fraction and shifted how the planet's mass is distributed.
A new analysis of the 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan has found that the intense temblor has accelerated Earth's spin, shortening the length of the 24-hour day by 1.8 microseconds, according to geophysicist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
Gross refined his estimates of the Japan quake's impact – which previously suggested a 1.6-microsecond shortening of the day – based on new data on how much the fault that triggered the earthquake slipped to redistribute the planet's mass. A microsecond is a millionth of a second.”
“The 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Chile last year also sped up the planet's rotation and shortened the day by 1.26 microseconds. The 9.1 Sumatra earthquake in 2004 shortened the day by 6.8 microseconds.
And the impact from Japan's 8.9-magnitude temblor may not be completely over.The weaker aftershocks may contribute tiny changes to day length as well.”

The magnitude 8.8 earthquake that hit Chile over the weekend—killing hundreds, and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless—may have shortened the length of each Earth day, according to JPL research scientist Richard Gross.
He computed how Earth's rotation should have changed as a result of the Feb. 27 quake. Using a complex model, he and fellow scientists came up with a preliminary calculation that the quake should have shortened the length of an Earth day by about 1.26 microseconds (a microsecond is one millionth of a second).

An earthquake that unleashed deadly tidal waves on Asia was so powerful it made the Earth wobble on its axis and permanently altered the regional map, US geophysicists said today.
The 9.0-magnitude temblor that struck 250 km south-east of Sumatra island on Sunday may have moved small islands as much as 20 metres, according to one expert.
"That earthquake has changed the map," US Geological Survey expert Ken Hudnut told AFP.
"Based on seismic modelling, some of the smaller islands off the south-west coast of Sumatra may have moved to the south-west by about 20 metres. That is a lot of slip."
The north-western tip of the Indonesian island of Sumatra may also have shifted to the south-west by around 36 metres, Hudnut said.
In addition, the energy released as the two sides of the undersea fault slipped against each other made the Earth wobble on its axis, Hudnut said.
"We can detect very slight motions of the Earth and I would expect that the Earth wobbled in its orbit when the earthquake occurred due to the massive amount of energy exerted and the sudden shift in mass," Hudnut said. “
Bigger quakes then what we have seen are coming which will make what we have been seeing look small compared to what is going to happen. The Earth will be moved out of its place again. Ezekiel’s warning in Ezekiel 38-39 shows us that a earthquake that is coming will move every mountion! Can you imagine the water that will be displaced in that quake! If you are tossed into the 7 year tribulation you will see the final warnings about the Earth moving like a drunkard and the day getting shorter. God help all of you who refuse Christ’s offer of salvation. Take what you are now seeing as a warning from Christ that His Words all are coming to pass.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Sunday another reactor of its quake-hit Fukushima nuclear power plants had lost its cooling functions, while at least 15 people at a nearby hospital were found to have been exposed to radioactivity.
The utility supplier notified the government early Sunday morning that the No. 3 reactor at the No. 1 Fukushima plant had lost the ability to cool the reactor core. The reactor is now in the process of releasing radioactive steam, according to top government spokesman Yukio Edano.
It was the sixth reactor overall at the Fukushima No. 1 and No. 2 plants to undergo cooling failure since the massive earthquake and ensuing tsunami struck Japan on Friday.

frank is it possible that the uk could have earthquakes of that magnitude.
I think what Jesus meant by “those days shall be shortened” is that for people who choose to follow Jesus they wouldn’t stay on earth for very many days to witness any further tribulations; they would be raptured into heaven, and their days of living in the tribulation period “would be shortened”
If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. (Matt 24:22). This has to do with the time of wrath of God which will be poured out during the tribulation. Most of the worlds population will be destroyed. Since the Church is already gone at this point we know the Lord is not talking about the Christians.
The days being “cut short” in Greek means “mutilated/cut off”, and is speaking of the sun and stars not shining for 1/3 part of their times, which means that the earth will not have 24 hour days at that time, but will be shortened to one third of it.
In Genesis 1, the sun, moon, and stars are set in the stretched out heavens to rule the day and the night, and to measure time.
When they are not shining there is no time to measure -its “cut off”.
The days being mutilated/cut off -as Jesus said- would prevent all flesh on earth from dying, and dying by the great heat. The reason is that the sun will shine brighter [as the moon also will, in relation to it], when the sun is smitten in the tribulation time.
Before Revelation was given to John to write, Enoch the prophet, the seventh from Adam, had long before already written [in Ethiopian Enoch chapter 80] of the sun burning brighter in that time of the tribulation, and of the earth being turned upside down and the seasons backwards and the stars in the heavens changing their orders in that tribulation time. The number of the ordained days in the year remain the same, but the number of ordained hours in the day are cut short.
Rev 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
This is the meaning of the cut short days of the tribulation time, and it has not happened yet.
There are more Scriptures which speak of the sun smiting the dwellers on earth in that time, and the promise that it will never happen again, to those who came through that, in other verses.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Isa 49:10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
Psa 121:6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
Biblically speaking: Coronal Mass Ejectionss shake the heavens, and that shakes the earth out of its place.
Isa 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
