PROPHECY:
200,000,000 man army from the East attacks
“It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number” (Revelation 9:14-16).
Revelation 16:12 “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East" (Revelation 16:12).
EXPLANATION:
There is a very interesting set of prophecies found in the book of Revelation. Although the two prophecies are different they both tie in together and they both have to do with "wars or rumor of wars.” Jesus said in the end times the Euphrates River was going to dry up. When the river dries up, there would be an army that numbers 200,000,000 that will cross this river. While it is true China does in fact have a army that numbers 200,000,000 men we need to take a closer look at Revelation 16:12. Notice if you will this verse says “kings”. I do not believe China will cross the River alone. Since we are warned that the (kings) will cross the river it will probably be a host of nations from East of the Euphrates that will cross the river to attack the Antichrist. These nations include, Iran which at the present time has an army that numbers 954,000, Afghanistan has an army of 70,000, Pakistan has an army of 619,000 with a reserve of 528,000, Iraq has an army of 273,000, Kazakhstan has an army of 65,000 with a reserve of 237,000, India has an army of 1,414,000 with a reserve force of 1,155,000, and China has any army of 2,255,000 with a reserve force of 800,000. As you can see, if these nations want to attack together they won’t have any problem forming a huge military force of 200,000, 000 men.

We know we are getting close to the coming of the Lord because in 2009 we are witnessing news informing us that the Euphrates River is drying up. On March 20, 2009 the NPR news ran a report with they entitled Drought Reveals Iraqi Archaeological Treasures”. The report stated, “Iraq is suffering one of the worst droughts in decades. While this is bad news for farmers, it is good news for archaeologists in the country. The receding waters of the Euphrates River have revealed ancient archaeological sites, some of which were unknown until now.” News out of Baghdad over the (AFP) on May 20, 2009 reported, “Turkey blamed fro looming crop ‘disaster’ in Iraq”. This report stated, “Iraq faces an agricultural “disaster” this summer if Turkey continues to retain waters from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers which have sustained Iraqi agriculture for millennia, experts say”. The Independent news ran a report with the headline that read, “As Iraq runs dry, a plague of snakes is unleashed” I quote, “Swarms of snakes are attacking people and cattle in southern Iraq as the Euphrates and Tigris rivers dry up and the reptiles lose their natural habitat among the reed beds” (June 15, 2009). Remember what I said about the dams? The Independent goes on to give us more news concerning these dams. “The plague of snakes is the latest result of an unprecedented fall in the level of the water in the Euphrates and the Tigris, the two great rivers which for thousands of years have made life possible in the sun-baked plains of Mesopotamia, the very name of which means "between the rivers" in Greek. The rivers that made Iraq's dry soil so fertile are drying up because the supply of water, which once flowed south into Iraq from Turkey, Syria and Iran, is now held back by dams and used for irrigation. On the Euphrates alone, Turkey has five large dams upriver from Iraq, and Syria has two”(Ibid). The Star-Telegram.com ran a article which they entitled, “Drought and water policies drying up Euphrates River” (July 13, 2009). On July 13, 2009 the New York Times ran a news report which they entitled, “The Shrinking Euphrates”. “Strangled by the water policies of its neighbors, Turkey and Syria, a two-year drought and years of misuse by Iraq and its farmers, the Euphrates River is significantly smaller than it was just a few years ago, and some officials worry that it could soon be half of what it is not.

You learned from chapter 4 of my book Jesus told you to watch for the signs of famine and drought. Do you think these signs have any bearing on the Euphrates drying up? You better believe it and the drought keeps getting worse. Read a short section from Market Skeptics released on February 7, 2009. I quote, “The Middle East and Central Asia regions are currently in the grip of one of the worst droughts in recent history. Widespread failure of rain-fed grain crops occurred in 2008/09, as well as sizable declines in irrigated crop area and yield. Food grain production dropped to some of the lowest levels in decades, spurring governments to enact grain export bans and resulting in abnormally large region-wide grain imports. Should drought continue into the 2009/10 growing season which begins in October, even greater declines in grain production will occur as planted area for both rain-fed and irrigated crops will be severely restricted. A second year of severely reduced grain harvests would imply significantly increased regional grain import requirements as well as posing substantial threats to internal security in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Afghanistan is the most vulnerable, owing to its lack of financial resources for large-scale grain imports and lack of institutional expertise to plan and execute such imports” Between the extreme drought, the dams, and the water use to crow crops we are witnessing the death of the Great Euphrates River just as Jesus said would happen. You can choose to believe Jesus warnings and just wait it out until the kings from the East cross it or, you can except the Words of Christ and prepare to meet Jesus Christ at the rapture of the Church.
