Matthew 27:34 says, "they gave Him wine to drink mingled with gall; and after tasting it, He was unwilling to drink."

By now you have noticed that Jesus' Revelation gives this falling object a specific name called Wormwood. I for one believe the Lord named this falling object wormwood because of what the Jews did to Him. Wormwood was a Hebrew word that meant bitterness and the word is also used by the Greeks to describe a drink as being bitter and undrinkable). It appears to me that Jesus named this falling object Wormwood to show us that what the Jews did to him on the cross was now in part coming back to them in this case as water that is bitter and undrinkable just as the water they tried to give Jesus on the cross was bitter and undrinkable!

Revelation 8: 11 it says "men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
