Prophecy Sign; Matthew 24:12 Jesus warned us of the following: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. In Isaiah chaper 19 we see the prophecy concerning Egypt coming against themselves.  Both of these prophecies can be seen in the video below.

Prophecy Sign: Jesus warned us Christian persecution would come in the last days. You can read about this in Matthew 24:9 and Revelation 6:9. Here is one example of this persecution. “Emboldened by government calls for a Sudan based on Islamic law since the secession of South Sudan, Muslims long opposed to a church near Khartoum have attacked Christians trying to finish constructing their building, sources said. The Sudanese Church of Christ (SCOC) congregation in Omdurman West, across the Nile River from Khartoum, has continued to meet for Sunday worshipin a building without a roof in spite of opposition from area Muslims and local authorities, the sources told Compass. Claiming that Christianity was no longer an accepted religion in the country, Muslims in the Hay al Sawra, Block 29 area of Omdurman West on Aug. 5 attacked SCOC members who were constructing the church building, the sources said. “We do not want any presence of churches in our area,” shouted members of the mob as they threw stones at the Christians, the sources said. Muslims in the north, where an estimated 1 million Christians still live following the secession of South Sudan on July 9, fear the potential influence of the church, they said. “They want to reduce or restrict the number of churches, so that they can put more pressure on believers,” said a church leader on condition of anonymity.”

Here is more news about Muslims attacks on Christians. "MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Worthy News)– Already shell-shocked by attacks from Boko Haram, a hard-line Muslim group that seeks to impose Shariah (Muslim) law in the northern states of Nigeria, Christians again had to take cover after the August 27 shooting of Mark Ojunta, a 36-year-old evangelist from southern Nigeria ministering to the Kotoko people in one of Nigeria's northeastern states. This murder comes less that three months after Boko Haram killed a Maiduguri pastor, the same city as Mr. Ojunta. Calvary Ministries (CAPRO) International Director Amos Aderonmu said Mr. Ojunta died "as a martyr on his field among the Kotokos." CAPRO had learned that all its staff members working among the shuwa Arab, Kotoko and Kanuri peoles were on a Boko Haram list of people to be killed and had evacuated them, Aderonmu said."

"Just about every person I come across who doesn’t believe in the pretribulation rapture believes so because of one main reason and it is this.  They say that the teaching of a pretribulation rapture did not even show up until John Nelson Darby who lived 1800-1882, and he was the first person to teach on a pretribulation rapture. 

Today I received another email asking me about the prerapture teaching. Here is what Will wrote me. "Hello My name is Will and I’m from Santa Maria. I’m a Baptist my roommate is Catholic. I’m currently starting my own research on Rapture but would like your input. My roommate doesn’t believe in Rapture at all mainly because the theory didn’t come about until the late 17th century.

He was also upset when I told him that the implications of the Pope’s World Bank statements were troubling. He contends the Pope’s comments were taken out of context to make a headline. I told him out of context or not the mere implications of his statements could lead to the prophesized new Roman Empire of the Last Days. That didn’t sit well with him of course. Get back to me when you can on these issues, take care and God bless."  I will answer both parts of Will's questions today.

Here is something every Christian should know concerning the teaching of a pretribulation rapture. 

John Nelson Darby was not the first person in the Church to teach a pretribualtation rapture!  Ephraem the Syrian wrote about this long before Darby did.  Author and prophecy teacher Grant R. Jeffrey gives some of the facts and I quote.

“A Discovery that the Pretribulation Rapture Was Taught in the Early Church”

“During the summer of 1994, after more than a decade of searching, I discovered several fascinating manuscripts that contain clear evidence of the teaching of the pre-tribulation rapture in the early church.

For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins. (On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World, by Ephraem the Syrian, A.D. 373)

The early Christian writer and poet, Ephraem the Syrian, (A.D. 306 – 373) was a major theologian of the early Byzantine Eastern Church. He was born near Nisbis, in the Roman province of Syria, near present-day Edessa, Turkey. Ephraem's fascinating teaching on the Antichrist has never been published in English until I wrote FINAL WARNING in 1995. Some scholars suggested that this manuscript was written several centuries later (5th or 6th century) but definitely before the birth of Islam in 622. However William Bousset, one of the greatest scholars on ancient eschatology, concluded in his book The Antichrist Legend that it was written by Ephraem the Syrian before A.D. 373.1 Andrew R. Anderson wrote in his book Alexander's Gate that he accepted the early date as being valid.2

This critically important prophecy manuscript from the fourth century of the Church era reveals a very clear statement about the pretribulational return of Christ to take His elect saints home to heaven to escape the coming Tribulation. Now I want to share with you a short section from what Ephraem of Syria wrote. “For all the saints and elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sin.”-Ephraem of Syria

Ephraem’s text alone shoots down the mistaken notion or view that the pretribulation was some new teaching made up by Darby. Would you like to know why Ephraem’s teaching probably did not make it in Christians circles, and that we are now coming to the knowledge of what was taught? 

Let’s go to Daniel 12:4 where the Lord told us our generation would be known for increase in knowledge. First off, if it weren’t for people like Grant Jeffrey who did a decade of searching, and found Ephraem’s text we may still not know the truth that Darby wasn’t the first person to teach a pretribualtion rapture. I truly believe this was a blessing to the Church and also is part of the fulfilling of Daniel 12:4 where the Church is gaining more knowledge about scripture in these last days.

I believe the main reason why the rapture teaching was put on the shelf so to speak was because of the Catholic Church.  If it weren’t for the Catholic Church putting people to death who held different views of scripture or who simply wanted to have the Bible translated into the common language, perhaps different views of eschatology could have gained more traction before now.  Let’s face facts, those who opposed the Catholic Church didn’t live long, so out of fear from the Popes rule many of the early teachings went underground.  In our generation thanks to our increase in knowledge and the birth of the computers just about everything that was hidden is coming to light on the Net. 

Maybe anyone who still thinks the prerapture of the the Church was not taught should do research on a sect know as the Dolicinites who were around 1304.  The Dolicinites held to a pretribulational rapture theory similar to the view many of us in the church hold to today. 

You still don’t believe? Try reading Peter Jurieu’s book from the year 1687 entitled “Approaching Deliverance of the Church”.  Peter Jurieu taught that Christ would come in the air to rapture the saints and return to heaven before the battle of Armageddon.

Philip Doddridge in his 1738 commentary on the New Testament speaks of the rapture as imminent.  John Gill was another man who wrote about this subject. In John’s commentary of 1748 on the New Testament, John also speaks of the rapture as imminent.  Look up Morgan Edwards who was a Baptist man who in 1744 spoke of a rapture prior to Christ’s coming to the Earth. Here is short section of what Morgan Edwards wrote.  “The dead saints will be raised, and the living changed at Christ’s “appearing in the air” (1Thessalonians 4:17…will He and they abide in the air all that time? No: they will ascend to paradise, or to some one of those many “mansions in the Father’s house” (John 14:2), and disappear during the foresaid period of time.” (cited in Thomas Ice. Mark Hitchcock, The Truth Behind Left Behind. p. 199).  You may want to look up James Macknight (1763) and Thomas Scott (1792) both taught that the righteous will be carried to heaven, where they would be secure until the time of judgment was over.

As you can see, John Darby wasn’t the first person to come up witha pretribulation rapture.  Any discussion on the rapture of the Church based on the fact that John Darby came up with a new teaching is baseless and holds no water at all. 

Here is a good example that shows you the Pope is trying to bring about this false one world Church that we see develop in Revelation chapter 17.

“VATICAN CITY, Oct 25 – Pope Benedict XVI has invited 300 religious leaders to a meeting in Assisi in Italy to repudiate “violence in the name of God” amid growing tensions fuelled by fundamentalists across the world. The day of interreligious council, which will be held on Thursday in St. Francis of Assisi’s birthplace, is intended to be a “journey of reflection, dialogue and prayer for peace and justice in the world,” the Vatican said. Over 50 Islamic representatives are expected to attend the talks from several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iran. They will be joined by Rabbis, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, a Zoroastrian, a Bahai and representatives of Taoism and Confucianism as well as of other traditional religions from Africa and America. For the first time, four atheists will also attend the meeting, which is traditionally organised so as not to coincide with the Muslim day of prayer on Friday, the Jewish one on Saturday or the Christian one on Sunday. However, the Imam from the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, a heavyweight authority on Sunnism, will not be coming, having fallen out with the pope after he urged Egypt to protect Christians from attacks by radical Islamists. The meeting is being criticised by Catholic fundamentalists who are strongly against the idea of dialogue with other religions. French fundamentalist Regis de Cacqueray said 1,000 masses would be needed to be said in reparation.”

Prophecy Sign: Daniel 2: 41-43 “And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.”

The EU’s President Barrosa, says he is looking for new integrations in the EU. He also points to the current EU treaty which may have to change. Supposedly this new integration will strength the EU. My question would be this. If the new EU measures don’t work and the EU Euro States break off, could the new integration end up with only 10 nations using the Euro currency? Considering Jesus warned us that 10 kings would give all their power over to the Antichrist, we should look to see the EU breaks down into a group of 10 at some point. Watch video below.

Here is some information from former Fed Chairman on the subject of will the EU fall apart. “The European Union is doomed to fail because the divide between the northern and southern countries is just too great, former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told CNBC in a recent interview. "At the outset of the creation of the euro in 1999, it was expected that the southern eurozone economies would behave like those in the north; the Italians would behave like Germans. They didn’t," Greenspan said. "Instead, northern Europe fell into subsidizing southern Europe’s excess consumption, that is, its current account deficits." Greenspan predicts that as the south's fiscal crisis deepens, the flow of goods from the north will stop altogether and southern Europe's standard of living will go down. "The effect of the divergent cultures in the eurozone has been grossly underestimated," he added. "The only way to have several currencies from divergent nations lumped together is if they are culturally close, such as Germany, the Netherlands and Austria. If they aren’t, it simply can’t continue to work." Greenspan feels that, to a very large extent, what’s driving the United States at the moment is Europe. "Today, there is one single integrated global stock market," he said. He also expects the European crisis, coupled with a failure to address the U.S. budget deficit, may be severe enough to cause a bond market crisis if the market suddenly decides the U.S. is more like Greece than not.”

Prophecy Sign: Matthew 24: 7 is where Jesus warns us to look for the sign of many earthquakes. In Luke 21:11 Christ then tells us to look for the sign of the "great earthquakes". There is no question we are seeing the sign of them both. I was gone and witnessing for the past week look at all the earthquakes that have struck. Some of these quakes were huge!
