Israel seizes cryptocurrency wallets used by Hamas
Israel to withhold $182 million from PA to offset terror stipends
Israel’s security establishment has begun to seize cryptocurrency wallets belonging to the Hamas terror organization, according to Israeli media reports. The move comes after Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an administrative order authorizing the seizures on June 30. Hamas is currently attempting to raise funds via virtual currencies, such as Bitcoin, in an effort to bypass the conventional banking system, Israel’s Channel 12 reported. Israeli security bodies, including the Shin Bet and the National Bureau for Counter-Terror Financing, have mobilized to try to shut off the flow of illicit funds, according to the report. Meanwhile, Israel’s Security Cabinet voted on Sunday to withhold 597 million shekels ($182 million) from the tax revenues it collects for the Palestinian Authority, in accordance with a terror finance law passed in 2018. The amount is equivalent to what the P.A. spent on “indirect support for terrorism” the previous year.

Shell lands near coalition base in eastern Syria: monitor
A mortar shell landed in a gas field in eastern Syria housing coalition forces, a war monitor reported on Sunday.
It fell in the Conoco gas field in Deir Ezzor province, near a base of the US-led coalition battling Daesh group remnants, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The war monitor said a blast was heard in the area but there were no immediate reports of casualties. It said pro-Iran militias were likely responsible for the incident that followed a series of recent attacks on the nearby Al-Omar oil field, which also houses coalition forces. The state-run SANA news agency said an explosion was heard from the area of the Conoco gas field, but did not provide additional details. The coalition was not immediately available for comment.

Explosion kills 4 in Sudan’s port city
An explosion has killed four people in a Sudanese Red Sea port city, officials said Sunday, the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area.
Tensions have been simmering in recent days in Port Sudan, where anti-government protesters have reportedly blocked roads over rising insecurity.
Local media have linked the unrest to rejection by the Hadendoa tribe of an October peace deal between rebel groups and the government. The Hadendoa, the largest subdivision of the Beja people in the region, fear their tribe will be under-represented in regional legislative and executive bodies under the agreement. Saturday’s blast took place late in the evening at a busy sporting club in Port Sudan, the provincial capital of the Red Sea state and the country’s main port, and also involved an armed attack. “An explosive device went off at Al-Amir club … killing four people,” the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors said in a statement.

Suspected Assassins Of Haitian President Moïse Trained By US, Linked To Pro-Coup Oligarchy
Haiti has asked for foreign troops to be sent to the country to protect key infrastructure after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. The request was sent by the government to the US and the UN, but the US says it has no plans to offer military assistance “at this time”. Haitian police earlier said a group of 28 foreign mercenaries killed the president on Wednesday. After a gun battle in the capital Port-au-Prince, 17 of them were detained. Some of the group, which Haiti says included retired Colombian soldiers, were held at the house they were using, others after entering Taiwan’s diplomatic compound, the police said. Three suspects were killed by police, and eight others are still being sought. The UN Security Council would have to approve any plan to send international troops to Haiti under UN auspices. Although the US will not offer troops, it said on Friday it was sending FBI and Department of Homeland Security officials to Haiti to help in the investigation. The killing has triggered some civil unrest in Haiti, the poorest nation in the Americas. A state of emergency remains in force across the country and it is unclear who is in effective charge of the country’s government.

Tens Of Thousands Of Cubans Take To Streets
Biden backs anti-government protests in Cuba
Tens of thousands of Cubans took to the streets Sunday in rare protests against the communist government. The island nation faces mounting socio-economic issues, food inflation, and other problems exacerbated by the virus pandemic. Protestors chanted “down with the dictatorship,” “freedom,” and “homeland and life” across multiple Cuban cities. Here are the scenes on the ground. Cubans are fed up with worsening economic problems, food shortage/runaway food inflation, lack of medicine and other essential products, rolling electricity blackouts, as well as the third wave of the virus pandemic. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel blames the uprising on a foreign smear campaign initiated by the US. “The order of combat is given, the revolutionaries take to the streets,” Díaz-Canel said. “In several protest areas, internet service on cell phones has been cut off, so news from the island is being interrupted, according to NBC Miami.”

Shandong hit by largest tornado outbreak in more than a decade, China
Eastern China’s Shandong Province was hit by its largest tornado outbreak in more than 10 years on July 11, 2021. At least 10 tornadoes were reported, with at least 3 of them were violent. The reports are still coming in and the number of reported tornadoes is rising. A violent tornado moved directly into downtown Shenxian around 13:00 UTC on July 11, 2021, causing ‘catastrophic’ damage. Another possible violent tornado flattened entire forests before moving directly into downtown Gaotang shortly after the Shenxian event. Another possible major tornado hit BingZhou at midnight local time. This tornado destroyed manufactured houses, completely tore down reinforced concrete telephone poles and threw vehicles.
