Today is Rosh Hashana (Yom Teruah)– L’Shanah Tovah (Happy New Year)!
Today at sunset will be the Jewish Year 5775. Rosh Hashana is one of the 7 Feasts of the Lord (God’s Appointed Times), the first of the 3 Fall Feasts. Israelis celebrate this as the beginning of their civil new year (there are many new year celebrations in Israel). It is also the day they celebrate the 6th Day of Creation- when God made Adam. God tells Moses in Leviticus 23:24-25 “On the first day of the seventh month (Tishri) you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present an offering made to the Lord by fire.” (see Numbers 29:1-6 for a list of the offerings).
Traditionally, people wear white on Rosh Hashanah to symbolize their faith in God’s upcoming judgment (Yom Kippur)- they have faith that HaShem will save them and show mercy. The trumpet blasts are given with a shofar (ram’s horn), accompanied by prayers & Tanakh readings. The shofar is sounded in a “unbroken-broken-unbroken” pattern. The unbroken pattern (tekiyot) is representing God’s calling to our soul, with readings from the Torah and the Prophets. The broken pattern (truot) is representing our brokenness before the Lord, our longing for Him, with readings from the Psalms.
As this is one of the Feasts not yet fulfilled by Christ, it is believed by many that Rosh Hashanah will be the day of the Rapture due to the verse in 1 Thes. 4:16 “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first”. Let us pray that, whenever we are called to go home, it will be soon.
Headline: How Farmers in Israel Are Preparing for a Rare Biblical Event That Starts This Week
Many Israeli farmers have spent months preparing for a biblically mandated event that comes just once every seven years, in which fields and orchards managed by Jews in the Holy Land must lie fallow for the entire year. It is known in Hebrew as Shmita, or the sabbatical year, and it begins Wednesday with the start of Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year. One such farmer is Rony Rosenzweig of Kibbutz Lavi, a religious cooperative community near Tiberias in the northern Galilee region. “Shmita offers us a lot of challenges that we have to face. Our local rabbi guides us as to what we are and aren’t allowed to do,” Rosenzweig told TheBlaze. Among the rules that present a unique challenge to the work of his community: “Don’t plant crops, don’t lay new grass, just take care of what exists, don’t add anything new.”

Headline: Police Ambushed by Muslim Rioters on Temple Mount
Dozens of Arab rioters began shooting fireworks at police on the Temple Mount on Wednesday morning, just hours before the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) began, and as soon as the holiest site in Judaism was opened to Jewish visitors. The rioters fired at police at the Mughrabi Gate, which is the only point of access for Jewish visitors to the site currently under the de facto rule of the Jordanian Waqf (Islamic trust). Yassam police special forces and Border Patrol officers pushed their way onto the Temple Mount and pressed back the rioters. Upon arriving on the holy site, police forces came face to face with dozens of rioters who had prepared obstacles on the Mount, from which they threw rocks and bricks at the officers while continuing to launch fireworks at them. After an extended struggle the police were able to gain control over the rioters and return order to the site. A number of officers were lightly wounded by the salvo of rocks and fireworks, and were provided medical treatment at the scene. Despite the attack, entry remained open for Jewish visitors, with police saying “we will continue to act against the rioters and show zero tolerance for any attempt to disrupt the order.”

Headline: Obama: Too Many Israelis Ready to Abandon Peace
“Too many Israelis are ready to abandon peace”, U.S. President Barack Obama said on Wednesday, as he addressed the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. “The situation in Iraq, Syria and Libya should cure anyone of the illusion that this conflict is the main source of problems in the region; for far too long, it has been used in part as a way to distract people from problems at home. And the violence engulfing the region today has made too many Israelis ready to abandon the hard work of peace,” he said as he opened the 69th General Assembly in New York. “But let’s be clear: the status quo in the West Bank and Gaza is not sustainable. We cannot afford to turn away from this effort – not when rockets are fired at innocent Israelis, or the lives of so many Palestinian children are taken from us in Gaza,” he continued. “So long as I am President, we will stand up for the principle that Israelis, Palestinians, the region, and the world will be more just with two states living side by side, in peace and security,” said Obama.

Headline: Qatar emir urges world to shun Israeli leaders
The Qatari emir has accused Israel of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during this summer’s 50-day war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani used his speech at the UN General Assembly Wednesday to urged world leaders not to receive Israeli leaders in their “diplomatic salons.” More than 2,100 Palestinians, including hundreds of civilians, many of them children, were killed, while 66 soldiers and six civilians were killed on the Israeli side. The Qatari leader also called on the Security Council to pass a resolution forcing Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian lands according to a clear time table.

Headline: Pakistan and UAE: Israel Doesn’t Have Right to Defend Itself From Hamas
In addresses to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, representatives from Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said that Israel does not have the right to defend itself against the terrorism of Hamas. Pakistan on Monday gave an address on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, calling Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip “legally incorrect” and “morally abhorrent.” The UAE made the same argument, stating that Israel’s actions cannot be viewed as self-defense because the Jewish state controls the Gaza Strip. In fact, Israel does not control the Gaza Strip, after unilaterally withdrawing from the area in 2005. Israel and Egypt do maintain a naval blockade on Gaza, but Israel allows humanitarian supplies to enter Gaza as long as the supplies are inspected to make sure that they will not be used for terrorism.

Headline: Radical Cleric Acquitted of Terror Charges in Jordan
Terrorist and hate preacher Abu Qatada was acquitted – and released – by a Jordanian court on Wednesday, on charges of plotting the 2000 “millennium plot” on American and Israeli tourists. This is the second acquittal for Abu Qatada. The terrorist, who was deported from Britain in July 2013 after a 10-year legal battle, was acquitted last month of plotting a 1999 attack on the American school in Amman. But he remained in prison for the second terror charges, for which he had originally been sentenced 15 years in prison in absentia. Once described by a Spanish judge as “Osama bin Laden’s deputy in Europe,” tapes of his sermons on Islam were found in the home of Mohammed Atta, the ringleader of the 9/11 attacks in America.

Headline: Militants open fire at three Army posts in Tripoli
Headline: Four reasons Hezbollah is concerned by Syrian militants
Unnamed militants opened fire at Army posts in Bab al-Tabbaneh, Syria Street and Brad al-Bisar in Tripoli, read a statement released by the Lebanese Army late Wednesday. One soldier incurred a minor wound in his leg as a result of the Bab al-Tabbaneh attack. The soldier was rushed to the hospital for treatment. According to the statement, soldiers’ at all three Army posts fired back at the militants and launched a chase in an attempt to seize the perpetrators. The Army also cordoned off the Brad al-Bisar area and barred any cars from entering or leaving the area, a security source told The Daily Star.

Headline: Machnouk embraces swap-deal to solve hostage crisis
A swap deal between the Lebanese government and militants holding at least 21 servicemen hostage is on the table, Interior Minsiter Nouhad Machnouk said Wednesday. The deal represents a change of policy after the government has continuously rejected any trade off with the militants. “A trade-off is possible,” Machnouk said, shifting away from the government’s prior decision to suspend negotiations after Nusra and ISIS militants began executing soldiers in an effort to pressure the government to meet its requests. Machnouk spoke to news outlets before flying to Paris where he is set to meet Future Movement leader, former Prime Minister Saad Hariri. More than thirty soldiers and policemen were captured by Nusra and ISIS militants during an armed attack on the northeastern border town of Arsal last month. The two groups are said to be holding at least 21 captives. To date, several have been released and three were killed. With regards to militant demands, ISIS is requesting the release of Islamists detained in Roumieh prison. As for the Nusra Front, they are demanding the release of individuals detained since the eruption of clashes in Arsal last month, as well as the protection of Syrian refugees and the opening of a safe passage for civilians into and out of Arsal.

Headline: Hezbollah Leader: Israel, Not Islamic State, ‘Source of All Terror in Region’
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech televised Tuesday night, declared that the Jewish state, and not ISIS or other al-Qaeda offshoots, “…is the source of all terrorism in the region. The state of Israel is the one who receives help and support from the United States,” according to Israel’s NRG News. Nasrallah, whose forces are allied with Syrian President Bashar Assad, questioned the legitimacy of US-led airstrikes within Syria, and in Iraq, in the speech, which aired on the group’s mouthpiece, al-Manar television. “We are against an international coalition, whether it is against the regime … or whether it is against ISIS,” Nasrallah said, calling the waves of attacks against dozens of targets in northeastern Syria on Monday “…an opportunity, a pretext, for America to dominate the region again.” However, despite Nasrallah’s stance on the latest conflict, and, while the United States considers Hezbollah a terrorist group, the two may be indirectly working together to keep ISIS fighters in Syria out of Lebanon, Israel’s NRG News reported Monday.

Headline: Saudi pilots receive online death threats after air strikes on Isis
Saudi pilots who conducted air strikes on jihadis in Syria have received online death threats after photos were published of those involved, among them a son of the crown prince. Saudi Press Agency (SPA) released photographs of eight airmen it said were involved in Tuesday’s US-led operation, carried out with Gulf allies. In one picture they stood, some smiling, in green flight suits with arms around each other in front of one of their fighter jets. One of the pilots involved in the raids is a son of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, according to Saudi newspapers. Dozens of Islamic State (Isis) and al-Qaida militants were reportedly killed in the international coalition’s air raids, sparking jihadi threats online where the Saudi pilots’ photos appeared. One Twitter user said the airmen were “wanted by IS” while another said their throats “will sooner or later be slit”. A broader threat came from a tweet calling for the killing of police as well as military men.

Headline: Egypt’s El-Sisi backs fight against IS, asks for over-due US Apaches
Headline: Egypt hopes to get a seat on the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has said he supports the fight against Islamic State (IS), and called on the US to send Egypt the military hardware it promised. Egypt and nine other Arab states agreed earlier in September to rally behind Washington in the fight against IS, as they seek to build an international coalition. El-Sisi, however, seemed reluctant to reveal details of Egypt’s potential militant participation against IS, in a TV interview with Charlie Rose on CBS, published online on Tuesday. When faced with the question, El-Sisi first responded by asking whether the US needs the Egyptian air force in the attacks. The presdent then laughed, as Rose reiterated the question, and said, “Give us the Apaches and F-16s that you have been withholding for over a year and half now!” “We said it before and we reiterate the fact that Egypt is in a real and serious confrontation with terrorism,” he said. “The idea is [that] the coalition is formed and we are part of this coalition and the symbolism is there with our public announcement that we are part of the coalition.” Egypt receives $1.3 billion in military aid from the US annually.

Headline: US aircraft launch another wave of airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria
Headline: President Obama Cites Radical Cleric in UN Speech
American aircraft continued to attack Islamic State terrorists in Iraq and Syria with a series of airstrikes that were launched Tuesday and Wednesday, U.S. Central Command says. The airstrikes were carried out by a mix of attack, bomber and fighter aircraft. Two airstrikes west of Baghdad destroyed two ISIS armed vehicles and a weapons cache. Another two airstrikes, southeast of Irbil, destroyed ISIS fighting positions. A fifth airstrike damaged eight ISIS vehicles in Syria in an area northwest of the Iraqi town of Al Qa’im, according to U.S Central Command. All aircraft exited the area safely. A senior defense official told Fox News that Jordan also conducted an airstrike against ISIS in Syria on Wednesday. In a separate statement, Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said the strikes in eastern Syria hit a staging area used by the militants to move equipment across the border into Iraq. He did not specify exactly where the air raids took place, but the Iraqi town of Al Qa’im is across the border from the Syrian town of Boukamal, where Syrian activists reported at least 13 airstrikes on suspected Islamic State positions on Wednesday.

Syria Headline: Qatar says Syrian regime main problem
Qatar, which provided support for U.S.-led airstrikes in Syria this week but deployed NO ordinance, urged the international community to confront the Syrian regime, highlighting pressure by some of Washington’s Gulf Arab allies to widen its campaign against Islamic State. Qatari Emir Shiekh Tamin Bin Hamad al-Thani says the fight against terrorism will fail if the Syrian people believe that it is stabilizing President Bashar Assad’s regime. “We cannot succeed in the war on terrorism if the people were not satisfied that it is their war, and not a war to stabilize a regime that is oppressing them,” al-Thani told the UN General Assembly.

Syria Headline: Toxic gas attack hit rebels headquarters in Damascus
At least 7 Syrian regime soldiers were reported dead on Wednesday, due to artillery shelling on the strongholds belonging to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the town of Adra in Damascus countryside, south of Syria, where the pro-Assad soldiers were held hostages. Speaking to ARA News in Damascus, civil rights activist Ahmed Sabbagh said that the pro-regime forces targeted with toxic gases one of the FSA headquarters, killing 7 regime soldiers imprisoned by the FSA, in addition to the injury of two FSA fighters. Activists published online (YouTube) a video showing the casualties of the toxic gases. This development came amid raising death toll among civilians due to the regime forces’ shelling on the town of al-Miqelbiya in Damascus. Meanwhile, clashes erupted between the pro-regime military forces and the FSA rebels in the vicinity of al-Dukhaniya town near Ain Tarma city in the countryside of Damascus. In other developments, one civilian was reported dead and three others wounded in the neighbourhood of Adawi in the city of Damascus on Wednesday, amid an attack with mortar fire by pro-Assad forces. Al-Meidan neighbourhood in Damascus, on the other hand, saw a campaign of arrests by the Syrian security forces who targeted houses of opposition activists, capturing dozens, local sources told ARA News.

Syria Headline: Opposition fighters are rejecting US-led strikes in Syria
Syria Headline: Syrian opposition: Hit Assad, not just ISIS
For their part, most commanders of Free Syrian Army factions, Syrian officials involved in combat, and activists working inside Syria have not shown great enthusiasm in preparing themselves. Laziness prevails in most factions and groundwork has been neglected. The general public was not properly informed and fighters taking part in battles were not prepared or even told what was going on. Military leadership made do, as usual, with carrying out routine work in an unconventional war that knows no routine. After the strikes began at dawn on Monday, confusion could be seen on the faces of the fighters, pro-FSA activists, and opposition members working to liberate themselves from Bashar al-Assad’s regime across Syria. A few hours after the air strikes started, debates were still taking place. Statements on the strikes were not issued by the FSA’s northern and southern fronts until late morning. Reuters acquired the first copy of the two statements, in which the FSA command on both the southern and northern fronts welcomed the strikes, considering them necessary to get rid of an illness that had gone rampant across the country and caused the oppression of the Syrian people. Both statements linked the elimination of ISIS with striking at the root of the disease – the Syrian regime, which refuses to depart – and of course they did not forget to call on allied countries and friendly states to arm and train rebel fighters. The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) was quicker to react, with a brief speech by its president welcoming the air strikes against the jihadist group. However, at that moment, no one was listening to what SOC President Hadi al-Bahra had to say because between the beginning of his speech and the release of the southern and northern fronts’ statements, fighters and opposition members inside Syria had received news that, for them, was the sum of their suppressed fears: warplanes (or a Tomahawk missile) had struck a civilian residence on the outskirts of Idlib, causing civilian casualties, including three children and three women. “That is not what we wanted,” said a rebel media activist attached to one of the FSA’s brigades. His comrade interrupted him: “If the raids had targeted the regime and a large number people had been killed by mistake, we would have said they were a sacrifice for our salvation.” “After four years of death, we wanted Bashar to be toppled. We can get rid of the foreign fighters and the Syrians with ISIS and Nusra. We want weapons, not air raids,” said a civilian activist who works both in and outside Syria.

Syria Headline: Islamic State advances to Kurdish town in Syria after U.S.-led strikes near Iraq border
Islamic State has reinforced fighters who are battling Kurdish forces for control of a Syrian town at the border with Turkey in the last day, a redeployment triggered by U.S.-led air strikes on the group elsewhere, a Kurdish military official said. Ocalan Iso, deputy leader of the Kurdish forces defending the town of Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) at the Turkish border, said more Islamic State fighters and tanks had arrived since the U.S.-led coalition began air strikes on the group on Tuesday. A spokesman for the U.S. military said those strikes were “only the beginning.” “The number of their fighters has increased, the number of their tanks has increased since the bombardment of Raqqa,” Iso told Reuters by telephone.

Al Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate, the Nusra Front, has evacuated its bases in populated areas of the Idlib (Edleb on map above) region in northwest Syria after U.S.-led forces carried out air strikes on the group, its fighters said on Wednesday. Another Syrian Islamist group, Ahrar al-Sham, has also ordered its followers to evacuate bases, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitoring group. “Heavy weapons have been moved out of the bases. We do not want civilians to be harmed because of us,” one Nusra fighter said in an online message posted on the Internet. The Observatory also reported the Nusra withdrawal. At least 50 fighters from the Nusra Front and eight civilians were killed in strikes by a U.S.-led coalition in Syria on Tuesday, the Observatory said.

Iraq Headline: Iraqi PM tells Obama: We need more weapons
Iraq’s armed forces need more weapons from the United States to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (also known as ISIS, or ISIL), Iraq’s new Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told President Obama on Wednesday in their first bilateral meeting since al-Abadi took office. The one-on-one meeting occurred on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly gathering in New York. Through a translator, al-Abadi told reporters on Wednesday that Mr. Obama promised the delivery of more weapons to fight Islamic extremists “as soon as possible.” Iraq’s armed forces, he said, have lost much of their equipment in their confrontations with ISIS, al-Abadi said. Many of the weapons were destroyed, while some have fallen into the hands of ISIS.

Iraq Headline: ISIL bombings kill 700 Iraqi soldiers
ISIL Takfiri militants have unleashed a set of bombing attacks on a military base in central Iraq, killing some 700 soldiers, witnesses say. According to reports on Tuesday, two attackers detonated their explosives-laden vehicles in Camp Saqlawiyah, north of the city of Fallujah, while three others set off their explosive vests there. Some 200 soldiers survived the attack, mostly injured. The survivors said the terrorists also kidnapped a number of army troops. Hundreds of soldiers were stationed at the base at the time of the attack. The army forces were stranded at the base without ammunition and supplies after the sole supply route to the camp was cut off by the ISIL terrorists. “There were no reinforcements, no food supplies, no medicine, no water, and then our ammunition began to run out,” a surviving soldier said. Iraq’s military, backed by volunteers, launched a major operation against the ISIL militants in Fallujah on Sunday.

A Kurdish organization has accused the Turkish government of backing Islamic State militants fighting with Kurds in Syria, and suggested that could jeopardize a truce that Kurdish rebels in Turkey began in March 2013. The statement was issued Wednesday by the Kurdish Communities Union, whose honorary leader is Abdullah Ocalan, the imprisoned leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the Kurdish rebel group that has long fought Turkey for autonomy. The umbrella group accused Turkey of “waging a war against the Kurdish people” and vowed to step up its “struggle.” It accused Turkey of supporting Islamic State group battling Syrian Kurdish forces along the Syria-Turkish border, and of stalling the peace process that it launched two years ago with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party that led to the cease-fire in Turkey.

Headline: NATO: ‘significant pullback of Russian conventional forces’ from Ukraine
NATO announced Tuesday that Russian troops have reduced their presence inside Ukraine. NATO spokesman Lt. Col. Russia, which has denied that it has any troops inside Ukraine, has not yet commented on NATO’s recent assertion. Ukraine and Russian-backed rebels agreed on September 19 to establish a 15 kilometer buffer zone to facilitate the withdrawal of foreign fighters, mercenaries and military equipment, with oversight by the OSCE.

Headline: U.S. told Iran of intent to strike Islamic State in Syria: source
The United States informed Iran in advance of its intention to strike Islamic State militants in Syria and assured Tehran that it would not target the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a senior Iranian official told Reuters. The communication, confirmed in part by a senior U.S. State Department official, may signal the estranged foes are inching toward a level of contacts rarely seen in over three decades since the 1979 Islamic revolution when a hostage crisis prompted Washington to sever ties with Tehran. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the senior Iranian official said Tehran had voiced concern for Assad, its closest regional ally and the recipient of Iranian military support during a Syrian civil war now in its fourth year. “Iran was concerned about Assad’s position and his government being weakened in case of any action against IS (Islamic State) in Syria and brought this issue up in meetings with Americans,” the senior Iranian official said. “This issue was first discussed in Geneva and then was discussed thoroughly in New York where Iran was assured that Assad and his government will not be targeted in case of any military action against Daesh (Islamic State) in Syria.” The Iranian official said Iran was informed separately in advance of the airstrikes launched by Washington and Arab allies against Islamic State positions in Syria for the first time. Asked about the assurance that Syrian government forces would not be targeted, the senior U.S. State Department official told Reuters: “We communicated our intentions, but not specific timing or targets, to the Iranians. As we’ve said, we won’t be coordinating military action with Iran. And of course we won’t be sharing intelligence with Iran either.”

Headline: Israel: Iran tested nuclear tech at Parchin
Israel said on Wednesday that Iran has used its Parchin military base as the site for secret tests of technology that could be used only for detonating a nuclear weapon. The Jewish state has been a severe critic of six big powers’ negotiations with Iran on restraining its nuclear program, suspecting Tehran is only trying to buy time to master sensitive nuclear know-how and would evade the terms of any final deal. A statement from Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz, issued a day before Iranian President Hassan Rouhani – the architect of Tehran’s diplomacy with the big powers – was to address the UN General Assembly, said internal neutron sources such as uranium were used in nuclear implosion tests at Parchin. Israel, his statement said, based its information on “highly reliable information”, without elaborating.

Headline: Algerian militant group linked to ISIS kills French hostage
An Algerian extremist group linked to the Islamic State has decapitated a French hostage in retaliation for France’s airstrikes against militants, French President Francois Hollande confirmed Wednesday. A group calling itself Jund al-Khilafah said after abducting Herve Gourdel on Sunday that he would be killed within 24 hours unless France ended its airstrikes against Islamic State fighters in Iraq. Terrorism watchdog SITE Intelligence Group distributed a video by Jund al-Khilafah Wednesday announcing Gourdel’s death. The group said the video had been posted on Twitter. Gourdel, a 55-year-old mountaineering guide from Nice, was seized in mountains of northern Algeria. Hollande condemned the killing of Gourdel and said France would continue its fight against the Islamic State group.

The Filipino terrorist organization Abu Sayyaf, which recently pledged loyalty to the Islamic State (ISIS), is holding two German citizens captive and demanding 250 million Philippine Pesos (over $5.6 million) from Germany within 15 days – or they will kill the hostages. The two Germans, aged 55 and 71, were abducted in April from their sailing yacht in Palawan in the western Philippines according to the German-language news source T-Online. A Twitter account linked to the group called “IslamicStateMaldives” was cited by the German site as giving Germany until October 10 to pay up, and also demanded Germany stop “killing our brothers,” a reference to the airstrikes Germany is supporting in the newly formed US coalition hitting ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

Headline: Turkey accused of prisoner swap with Islamic State
Ankara allegedly traded Islamic State-affiliated prisoners last Saturday for Turkish consulate members captured in Mosul, in a possible violation of a UN resolution. The claim was published on Tuesday by the Turkish English language newspaper the Hurriyet Daily and alleges that 50 Islamic State members held by a Syrian rebel group were released in exchange for 49 embassy employees abducted in June. A source who spoke with the Hurriyet Daily said that Liwa al-Tawhid, an offshoot of the Free Syrian Army, had agreed to release the Islamic State-affiliated prisoners after a series of negotiations between the three parties. The wife and children of Haji Bakr, an Islamic State leader who was killed in Aleppo in February, were among those held by the rebel group currently battling the Assad regime. The source also stated that the Turkish diplomatic mission of 46 Turks and 3 Iraqis was released at the Akcakale border crossing only after the Islamic State-affiliated prisoners were freed by their captors. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not confirm reports of a swap, although he noted that “diplomatic bargaining” had occurred between Ankara and an unspecified group. “Whether a swap has taken place or not, our 49 citizens returned to Turkey,” Erdogan added in a speech made a day after the alleged swap. “Even if this swap took place, as the president, I always look after my 49 citizens. Nothing can be of more value than my citizens.”

Headline: Turkey Prevents Aid From Iraqi Kurds Reaching Kobani
Turkish authorities have hold up tons of aids sent from Iraqi Kurds to Kobani refugees close to Turkish border. Turkey has prevented a convoy of aid supplies sent by the Barzani Charity Foundation that was being sent to the people of Kobani suffering near Turkey’s border. On Tuesday, twelve trucks stocked with food and other basic needs which was provided by Barzani Foundation was sent for Kobani refugees from Erbil to Turkey, however, it was prevented from crossing by the Turkish government. The convoy is currently halted at the Ibrahim Khalil border between Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey. Turkish government officials claim the stand-still has been carried out in order to thoroughly check the passports and identification of the truck drivers and personnel who are delivering the goods. The Barzani Charity Foundation has also provided food for children from Antab, Turkey and had planned to distribute aid to Kobani’s children on Tuesday.

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)
Headline: More Unrest in Ferguson Overnight After Michael Brown Memorial Burns
Demonstrators and police officers faced off in Ferguson again overnight. At one point, an estimated 150 to 200 demonstrators were on West Florissant. Shots were heard, but no one was hit. Then looters hit the Beauty Town store for a third time in just over a month. Juan Santos works at the store which had hung a sign reading, “Beauty Town is Back,” and is now boarded up again. “We’re just gonna board it back again, and just go on,” he says. Fires were set, but did little damage, at the Whistle Stop in the old train station on Florissant Road and the auto repair shop on Chambers that works on police cars. A half-dozen protestors were arrested after some threw rocks and bottles at police who tried to clear West Florissant. The demonstrations were apparently sparked by the early Tuesday morning fire that destroyed one of the Michael Brown memorials on Canfield Drive. Some believe police set the fire. Police believe it was started by candles.

Headline: AQAP calls Sunnis to arms
United Nations Secretary-General called for the implementation “in full, without delay” of the peace and partnership agreement signed by the political parties in Yemen last Sunday. The signing of the agreement is “a positive step towards political stability and peace in the country,” Mr. Ban Ki-moon has said in a statement from his spokesperson. He commended the Yemenis for their ability to come together and read agreement on a “peaceful path forward” during a period of conflict and uncertainty. The agreement was signed by representatives of the Yemeni political parties, including Houthis at the presidential palace in Sana’a to end the current crisis. The signing of the agreement was attended by President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, Parliament Speaker, presidential advisors, the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen. In his statement, Mr. Ban calls on Yemeni political leaders to rapidly implement the political undertakings contained in the agreement, and to remain committed to the principles of the National Dialogue Conference. He urged Yemeni political leaders to ensure that the forces over which they exercise control or influence cease all violent acts, and disengage from the conflict. He also calls for the return of all Government institutions to the control of the legitimate authorities. Meanwhile, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released their most recent statement addressed to the Sunni community writ large. The “Statement Regarding The Crimes of the Houthi Faction Against the Sunnis,” also given the subtitle “A Call to Sunnis,” was disseminated on Tuesday by an AQAP-affiliated Twitter account. The statement begins by describing recent Houthi actions in Sana’a as seeking “to complete the rafidi [Shi’ite] (Persian) project in Yemen” and continues to refer to the Houthi movement as a “malicious rafidi [a derogatory term for Shiite] plant.” The leaders of the Sunni community, as well as its clerics and religious figures, are accused by the statement of aiding and abetting the “sprouting and growing” of this “plant.”

A Red Cross team was attacked while collecting bodies believed to be infected with Ebola in southeastern Guinea, the latest in a string of assaults that are hindering efforts to control West Africa’s current outbreak. One Red Cross worker is recovering after being wounded in in the neck in Tuesday’s attack in Forecariah, according to Benoit Carpentier, a spokesman for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Family members of the dead initially set upon the six volunteers and vandalized their cars, said Mariam Barry, a resident. Eventually a crowd went to the regional health office, where they threw rocks at the building. The attack is the most recent in a series that have plagued teams working to bury bodies safely, provide information about Ebola and disinfect public places. The most shocking was the abduction and killing last week in Guinea of eight people, health workers educating people about Ebola and the journalists accompanying them.

The Georgia Department of Public Health has identified nine cases of enterovirus D68 in the state. Enterovirus D68 has been linked to clusters of respiratory illness among children and teenagers in Kansas City and Chicago, reports Georgia Health News. From mid-August to September 23, 213 people in 30 states were confirmed to have respiratory illness caused by D68, according to Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta recently reported an unusual surge of such illnesses in children, reports GHN. Headline: 100 Christians, Including Children, Arrested During Major House Church Raid in China
Over 100 Christians, including children, were arrested during a major house church raid on Sunday in Foshan city in China’s Guangdong Province. Close to 200 police officers stormed in during the service, eyewitnesses said, believed to be part of a large-scale crackdown on Christians in the country. “We don’t know exactly why they raided our church,” a local believer told watchdog group International Christian Concern, which has been keeping track of the rising tide of persecution in China. “The government does not want us to get together and worship as a church.” Worshipers said that the church was raided without any warning, and that police only left behind a notice stating that people were detained for an “illegal gathering.” More than 30 parishioners reportedly still remain in custody. “It is unbelievable that local authorities arrested over 100 church members, including children, in Foshan city. Even though most people have been released, the experience has been traumatizing,” said ICC’s Regional Manager for Southeast Asia, Sooyoung Kim. “ICC urges local authorities in Guangdong Province to respect its citizens’ rights to religious freedom, that the government of China says are upheld, and free these innocent Christians as soon as possible.” The Mount Olivet Church has over 20 years of history and has close to 170 members, ICC added.Only government-approved churches are legal in China, with all house churches considered “illegal gatherings.” But even a number of officially sanctioned churches have been targeted by the government in recent months, with officials explaining that they have been “removing or modifying illegal constructions.”

No the ‘he goat’ in Daniel 8:5 is Alexander the Great as seen in Daniel 8:21 “And the rough goat is the king of Greecia and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king”. Greece is not listed in Psalm 83 as a nation that comes against Israel. I cover America in the Bible in great length in my book pages 317-360 as one of the young lions of Tarshish.
