Prophecy Sign: Once again we are seeing reports in the news that Israel is alone in the world.  This is in step with what Zechariah warned us in Zech. 12:3 and I quote, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.  Here is some proof Israel does in fact see themselves alone in a report entitled “Israel – Alone and Strong”  “It doesn't matter how small or weak Israel may seem, compared to other nations. The power of all other nations combined is only like a drop in the bucket compared to the power of the God of Israel.” “In his address to the Israeli nation on the recent occasion of the country's 62nd Independence Day anniversary, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared, "Israel can only truly rely on itself."Obviously, and with good reason, he was reminding his nation and people that they cannot depend on the United States or anyone else in the international community to defend them, if and when Iran tries to fulfill its threats to "wipe Israel off the face of the map." Netanyahu quoted Theodore Herzl, the respected Zionist leader of 100 years ago, who said, "Don't rely on help from strangers, don't trust the charitable, and don't wish for stones to grow soft." And Netanyahu added, "A nation that wishes to stand tall must place all its trust in itself only."  The report tells what would happen to Israel if Iran hit it with a nuke like they say they want to.  However read what they say further on in this report.

“But we want to remind everyone in and outside of Israel that the God of Israel is still alive and well. He has assured the whole world that He will never slumber nor sleep in His efforts to watch over, protect and preserve Israel. He has promised through His prophets that He will never again allow the restored nation of Israel to be destroyed.  It doesn't matter how small or weak Israel may seem, compared to other nations. The power of all other nations combined is only like a drop in the bucket compared to the power of the God of Israel.”  I know Iran thinks it will someday soon wipe Israel off the map but this is not going to happen.  Fact is, in Ezekiel chapter 38 we see Iran and her allies getting wiped out by God who protects His chosen people Israel.

Prophecy Sign: Ezekiel 38 shows us Libya is going to join forces with Iran and Russia when they invade or at least try to invade Israel.  Last week Iran warned Israel they are sending escorts ship from Iran to stop Israel from boarding ships sending help to the PLO in the Gaza.  Today we now see Lybia has stepped up and is acting to aid the PLO. “A number of Libyan civil organization have decided to undertake relief convoys to Gaza by sea and land as part of the Libyan people's efforts to end the three-year blockade imposed by the Israeli occupying forces on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The organizations agreed in a meeting held in Tripoli on Wednesday that the Libyan people would participate in the international efforts that are taking place everywhere and gaining strength against the criminal Israeli policy.”  Not only is this a sign that the Ezekiel prophecy is heading toward us, it is a sign of all the nations coming against Israel as stated by Zechariah in 12:3.

As a side note the report talks about  biblical prophets who “revealed that one day a large coalition of armies will gather on Israel's land with plans to attack and destroy Jerusalem and the rest of the nation. But God will meet them on the plain of Megiddo and wipe out their armies.”  What most Jewish people think is the God that is coming to save them is not Jesus Christ, but their God who they have been waiting for for thousands of years.  What they will discover in this last day Megiddo battle is that it will be Jesus Christ who will show up.  Fact is their one of their own prophets even tells them when they see Jesus coming to save them they will cry because they had missed who the Messiah really was. I now quote from the same Prophet which warned that Israel would be alone in the last days. “On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” Who was it that was pierced?  Take a look at Jesus’ hands and feet and the hole left in the Lord’s side from the Roman spear.

There are some 300 prophecies showing the Jewish nation that Jesus Christ was the one they have been waiting for. Here are a few of those prophecies.

Isaiah 48:2-5 [3] I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. [4] For I knew how stubborn you were; the sinews of your neck were iron, your forehead was bronze. [5] Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, `My idols did them; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.'

"Isn't 'fulfilled prophecy' just a guess or luck or coincidence?"

2 Peter 1:19-21  [19] And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. [20] Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. [21] For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

"Does the Old Testament contain any prophecies about the Messiah?"

Yes!  The Old Testament contains about FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE prophecies about the Messiah.  Here is a small sample (in roughly chronological order):

GOD WOULD COME TO EARTH

BE BORN AS A HUMAN MALE

Isaiah 9:6-7 [6] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. … 700 B.C.

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

John 1:1-3, 14 [1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was with God in the beginning. [3] Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  [14] The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

BORN OF A VIRGIN

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. 700 B.C.

Mattthew 1:20-23 [20] But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.   [21] She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."  [22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: [23] "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" –which means, "God with us."

FROM THE HOUSE OF JUDAH

Isaiah 37:31 Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. 700 B.C.

Matthew 1:1-2, 16 [1] A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son [descendant] of David, the son of Abraham: [2] Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, [16] and [a later] Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

FROM THE ROOT AND STUMP OF JESSE

Isaiah 11:10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious. 700 B.C.

Isaiah 11:1-5 [1] A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. [2] The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him– the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD– [3] and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; [4] but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. [5] Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. 700 B.C.

Romans 15:12 And again, Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him."

BORN IN BETHLEHEM EPHRATHAH

Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. 700 B.C.

Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Over the years there have been a number of "Bethlehems" in Israel.  At the time of Jesus' birth, Bethlehem Ephrathah, referred to in Matthew as "Bethlehem in Judea", was a village about five miles south of Jerusalem, and there also was a town named Bethlehem about seven miles northwest of Nazareth.  (Per footnote Matthew 2:1 of the Zondervan NIV Study Bible, 10th Anniversary Edition, (c) 1995)

BE FROM NAZARETH OF GALILEE

Isaiah 9:1-2 [1] Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan — [2] The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 700 B.C.

Matthew 2:22-23 [22] But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, [23] and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: "He will be called a Nazarene."

Matthew 4:13-16 [13] Leaving Nazareth, he [Jesus] went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali– [14] to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:  [15] "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles — [16] the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."

HIS BIRTH WOULD TRIGGER A MASSACRE OF INFANT BOYS

Jeremiah 31:15 This is what the LORD says: "A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more." 625 B.C.

Matthew 2:16-18 [16] When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. [17] Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: [18] "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more."

An interesting side note: most people think that Herod killed thousands of babies. However, Bethlehem was "in the boondocks."  The chances are that less than thirty babies were killed.

COME OUT OF EGYPT

Hosea 11:1  When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. 725 B.C.

Matthew 2:14-15  [14] So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, [15] where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son."

MISSION WOULD INCLUDE THE GENTILES

Isaiah 49:6 he [the Lord] says: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth." 700 B.C.

Isaiah 42:1-4, 6 [1] "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. [2] He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.  [3] A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.  In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; [4] he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope." [6] "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand.  I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, 700 B.C.

Matthew 12:14-21 [14] But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus. [15] Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. Many followed him, and he healed all their sick, [16] warning them not to tell who he was. [17] This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: [18] "Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. [19] He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. [20] A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory. [21] In his name the nations will put their hope."

Note that in Biblical usage the Gentiles are often referred to as "the nations."

MINISTRY WOULD INCLUDE MIRACULOUS HEALINGS

Isaiah 29:18 In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see. 700 B.C.

Isaiah 35:5-6a [5] Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.  [6a] Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. 700 B.C.

Luke 7:20-22 [20] When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, `Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?' " [21] At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. [22] So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor."

MINISTRY WOULD DELIVER SPIRITUAL CAPTIVES

Isaiah 61:1-2 [1] The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, [2] to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 700 B.C.

Luke 4:16-21 [16] He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. [17] The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: [18] "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, [19] to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."  [20] Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, [21] and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

Not too shabby, considering it was His first sermon!

DESPISED AND REJECTED BY MEN

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 700 B.C.

The Crucifixion narratives in all four Gospels show this prophecy fulfilled.

HATED WITHOUT CAUSE

Psalm 69:4 Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal. 1000 B.C.

Isaiah 49:7 This is what the LORD says– the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel– to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: "Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you." 700 B.C.

John 7:48-49 "Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him? [49] No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law–there is a curse on them."

John 15:24-25 [24] If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.  [25] But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: `They hated me without reason.'

REJECTED BY RULERS

Psalm 118:22 The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone [cornerstone of a building]; [23] the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. before 400 B.C.

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures:" `The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes' ?

John 7:48-49 Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him? [49] No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law–there is a curse on them.

REJECTED BY HIS OWN BROTHERS

Psalms 69:8 I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons 1000 B.C.

(Side note: this pretty much kills the Catholic Church's claim that when the Gospels name Jesus' brothers they are talking about His cousins.)

Mark 3:20-21 [20] Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. [21] When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."

John 7:1-5 [1] After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. [2] But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, [3] Jesus' brothers said to him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. [4] No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." [5] For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

BETRAYED FOR 30 PIECES OF SILVER

Zechariah 11:12 I told them, "If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it." So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. 500 B.C.

Matthew 26:14-15 [14] Then one of the Twelve–the one called Judas Iscariot–went to the chief priests [15] and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.

SILVER RETURNED

SILVER USED TO BUY POTTER'S FIELD

Zechariah 11:12-13 [12] I told them, "If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it." So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. [13] And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"–the handsome price at which they priced me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter. 500 B.C.

Matthew 27:3-10 [3] When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. [4] "I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." "What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility." [5] So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. [6] The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money." [7] So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners. [8] That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day. [9] Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: "They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel, [10] and they used them to buy the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."

DISCIPLES WOULD SCATTER

Zechariah 13:7 "Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!" declares the LORD Almighty. "Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones." 500 B.C.

Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: " `I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'"

Prophecy Sign: A few days ago I covered the sign of pestilence from Luke 21: 11  “There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.”  Last year I warned you to keep your eyes on the news because you will begin to see more reports about pestilences.  This of course is the plagues of insects eating up crops.  A few days ago I reported on what is about to happen in Australia with the worst locust plague in more than two decades. Yesterday I spoke with a Christian Brother who lives in Wyoming and he told me they are facing the same type of problem only with grasshoppers.

“NEWCASTLE, Wyo. – Grasshopper infestations have taken on mythic tones here on the arid prairie of northeastern Wyoming — they blanket highways, eat T-shirts off clotheslines and devour nearly every scrap of vegetation on ranches and farms. The myth may come closer to reality this summer than at any time in decades in several states in the West and the Plains. A federal survey of farm areas taken last fall found high numbers of adult grasshoppers in parts of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Idaho. Each female lays hundreds of eggs so that high count could turn into costly grasshopper infestations this summer.”

“60 miles a day no problem
Making matters worse is the prevalence of migratory species in the latest surveys — insects that can fly 60 miles in a day. The Wyoming acreage infested with 15 or more grasshoppers per square yard increased more than 10-fold from 2008 to 2.9 million acres last summer, according to federal surveys. Regionwide, surveys predict at least 48 million acres of outbreak-level infestation this summer.  "In some states, we may see some of the most severe grasshopper outbreaks that we've seen in nearly 30 years," said Charles Brown, the national grasshopper suppression program manager at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. “

Jesus in the Book of Revelation warned us that food was going to be a major problem during the seven year tribulation.  We know this to be true from Revelation 6:6 where we see people working all day long for a handful of wheat or barley.  Between the wars, droughts, lack of water, and pestilence there is going to be very little food left during the tribulation.  What you are seeing showing up in the news now is only a prelude to things to come. What we are witnessing here are the birth pains as Christ warned.  Since birth pains only get worse you can expect to see even more news like these Locusts and grasshopper plagues.

Prophecy Sign: The Lord told us to expect major storms we know this from Luke 21:25 where Jesus tells us to watch for the roaring seas and waves. “At least 16 people were killed and dozens more were unaccounted for after flash floods raged through campgrounds in western Arkansas early Friday morning. As many as 300 people, including families with vehicles and off-road backpackers, may have been camping along the Caddo and Little Missouri Rivers as waters surged by 20 feet between midnight and dawn, according to Red Cross and state emergency officials. Terrified families tried to outrace the churning, swiftly rising water, some fleeing up hillsides as tents vanished, recreational vehicles flipped over and rental cabins were demolished.”  In another report we are told “Campers would have been told about a flash flood watch posted at midday Thursday, but the flood arrived after 2 a.m. Friday when many were asleep. At times, the Little Missouri River rose eight feet per hours. 

The same type of thing just happen in France. “The death toll from flash floods in southern France has risen to 20, while authorities near the country's Mediterranean coast continue to search for bodies. After two days of flooding, a fresh round of rainfall early Thursday brought waters to about one-half meter high in France's southern Var region.  At least 25,000 homes were without electricity in what French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux called an "unprecedented catastrophe." 

 I noticed in another report it said, “The worst rains in nearly 200 years wreaked havoc on southeastern France in recent days turning deadly. Torrents of flooding water more than 6 feet deep were unleashed accounting for 22 deaths with more missing”  It has been a fact that each year we are reading news telling us about the worse storms in 50, 100, or 200 years.  Anyone who has been following these reports can identify the birth pains with no problem.  If this is your first time to my site I refer to the birth pain Jesus speaks to us about in Mark 13:8. “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

Today’s news also shows us that major storms have hit India and China. “About 90 people have died and over 70 are missing as a result of heavy flooding in India and China. Heavy rains have wrecked havoc on India’s largest city of Mumbai, affecting the movement of air and rail traffic and causing electrical blackouts in some areas.” 

In yet another report we are told, “BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhuanet) — Flooding and landslides triggered by recent heavy rain have killed at least 42 people as of Wednesday in the worst hit provinces like Guangxi, Fujian and Sichuan, while 49 others are still missing. Storms are forecast to continue to sweep across most parts of South China over the next 10 days, with some areas due to receive 250mm of rain, the China Meteorological Administration said on Wednesday.” In the very near future you will be reading about more of these types of storms.  As with the other signs these are the beginning of birth pains and birth pains already get worse before the baby is born.  In the case of prophecy all these signs Jesus told us to keep on the watch for will get more intense until Jesus comes.

Prophecy Sign: The prophet Daniel was shown by the Lord that in the last days their would be one last power shift.  During the time of the end the old Roman Empire would again come to life as a revived Roman Empire.  Daniel may not have written down what would give rise to this last empire but Daniel in 12:4 did tell us that our generation would have increase in knowledge.  We in this generation as see what is bringing down the current superpowers.  Both the United States and the European Union are facing a major collapse.  The economic crisis taking place in both of these nations is going to force the rise of the last world empire which will be controlled by the Antichrist.  I am continually showing you signs that America and the EU are crashing.  As usual there are more signs today.

“European leaders meet in Brussels today amid growing fears that Spain, Europe's fifth-largest economy, is preparing to ask for a bailout which would dwarf the €110bn (£90bn) rescue plan for Greece.” At the present time their are six EU nations in the deepest economic crisis since the euro was released in the year 2000.  We are reading more reports that the EU may fall apart as a result of these nations debt.  America is in the same position. Almost two years ago I warned you what was going to happen in the U.S.  as far as the number of people losing their jobs.  I warned you that you will witness hundreds of thousands lose their jobs and this would continue in the coming months.  Today new figures were released and we see almost a half million people have had to file for help.

“WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of people filing new claims for jobless benefits jumped last week after three straight declines, another sign that the pace of layoffs has not slowed. Initial claims for jobless benefits rose by 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 472,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. It was the highest level in a month and overshadowed a report that consumer prices remain essentially flat. First-time jobless claims have hovered near 450,000 since the beginning of the year after falling steadily in the second half of 2009. That has raised concerns that hiring is lackluster and could slow the recovery.” 

Consider the fact that  the U.S. debt will top $13.6 trillion this year and climb to an estimated $19.6 trillion by 2015, according to a Treasury Department report to Congress, America is on the road to a shift collapse just like the European Union.  The question I want to ask you is this.  Jesus and Daniel show us the picture of the last days and they instruct us that one man will control the world’s economic system.  We are told this man will be able to control what you can buy or sell.  In order for something like this to ever take place there has to be a major global economic crisis that will force the world into accepting one man to control everything!  The news we are reading about now is leading up to the coming of the Antichrist.  Now there are two ways you can go with this.  First you can begin to believe what the Word of God warns about these last days and receive Christ as your Lord, or you can sit back and keep watching hundreds of thousands of people keep losing their jobs until you see the crash.  Maybe at that point you will begin to listen to what the Holy Spirit has been trying to show you. 

Another sign of America’s soon collapse;se is coming from signs in the banks. “More than 90 U.S. banks and thrifts missed making a May 17 payment to the U.S. government under its main bank bailout program, signaling a rising number of lenders are struggling to meet their obligations. The SNL Financial statistics show 91 banks missed their dividend payment under the Troubled Asset Relief Program. The statistics, compiled by SNL Financial from U.S. Treasury data, showed 91 banks and thrifts skipped the May dividend payment under the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. It was the first missed payment for 23 of the banks; for the others, it was at least their second miss.  It you didn’t know banks are continuing to fail each week.  All these signs are as I said, paving the way for the Antichrist to rise and take control of the new economic system he sets in place.

Let’s not forget what is happening in the Gulf Coast concerning the oil spill.  What do you think is going to happen when you find out the oil spilling out of the ocean won’t be able to be caped off?  News like this will just about kill off any economy recovery for the U.S.  Here is the latest on the spill.  “NEW ORLEANS – Scientists provided a new estimate for the amount of oil gushing from the ruptured well in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday that indicates it could be leaking up to 2.52 million gallons of crude a day. A government panel of scientists said that the ruptured well is leaking between 1.47 million and 2.52 million gallons of oil daily. The figures move the government's worst-case estimates more in line with what an independent team had previously thought was the maximum size of the spill.

Little by little the world is watching freedoms we used to take for granted disappearing.  These freedoms will all disappear when the Antichrist shows up, but we are on the way to his doorstep and he is a good example of what I am talking about.

The federal government would have “absolute power” to shut down the Internet under the terms of a new US Senate bill being pushed by Joe Lieberman, legislation which would hand President Obama a figurative “kill switch” to seize control of the world wide web in response to a Homeland Security directive.

Lieberman has been pushing for government regulation of the Internet for years under the guise of cybersecurity, but this new bill goes even further in handing emergency powers over to the feds which could be used to silence free speech under the pretext of a national emergency.

“The legislation says that companies such as broadband providers, search engines or software firms that the US Government selects “shall immediately comply with any emergency measure or action developed” by the Department of Homeland Security. Anyone failing to comply would be fined,” reports ZDNet’s Declan McCullagh.

The 197-page bill (PDF) is entitled Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act, or PCNAA.

Technology lobbying group TechAmerica warned that the legislation created “the potential for absolute power,” while the Center for Democracy and Technology worried that the bill’s emergency powers “include authority to shut down or limit internet traffic on private systems.”

The bill has the vehement support of Senator Jay Rockefeller, who last year asked during a congressional hearing, “Would it had been better if we’d have never invented the Internet?” while fearmongering about cyber-terrorists preparing attacks.

Prophecy Sign: In Luke 21:25 Jesus also points to signs in the sun. "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.“  Many people are now watching another factor that could play havoc on the global economy and it has to do with the sun.  I don’t think it is a coincidence that we are seeing all these events taking place all at the same time.  Read the report below and I will connect the dots.

“Britain could face widespread power blackouts and be left without critical communication signals for long periods of time, after the earth is hit by a once-in-a-generation “space storm”, Nasa has warned. National power grids could overheat and air travel severely disrupted while electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites could stop working after the Sun reaches its maximum power in a few years. Senior space agency scientists believe the Earth will be hit with unprecedented levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013, The Daily Telegraph can disclose. In a new warning, Nasa said the super storm would hit like “a bolt of lightning” and could cause catastrophic consequences for the world’s health, emergency services and national security unless precautions are taken. Scientists believe it could damage everything from emergency services’ systems, hospital equipment, banking systems and air traffic control devices, through to “everyday” items such as home computers, iPods and Sat Navs”

At this point in time many nations are on the verge of collapsing over their debt and failing economies.  All we need to a few things to go wrong and it will push the collapse that will at the end of the day force the Antichrist to power.  Since our generation is so connected to the Net and most of the banking in the world is done electronically, what do you think would happen if the space storm did last two months and it cut off banking electronically?  It would be a disaster  that could push the fragile global economy over the edge.  Considering the fact that Jesus told us to watch for signs from the sun, I think it very possible that this storm will be worse than most think.

Dr. Fisher address this issue in this report and I quote, “Dr Fisher, a Nasa scientist for 20 years, said these two events would combine in 2013 to produce huge levels of radiation. He said large swathes of the world could face being without power for several months, although he admitted that was unlikely. A more likely scenario was that large areas, including northern Europe and Britain which have “fragile” power grids, would be without power and access to electronic devices for hours, possibly even days. He said preparations were similar to those in a hurricane season, where authorities knew a problem was imminent but did not know how serious it would be. “I think the issue is now that modern society is so dependant on electronics, mobile phones and satellites, much more so than the last time this occurred,” he said. “There is a severe economic impact from this. We take it very seriously. The economic impact could be like a large, major hurricane or storm.” Could this be one of the birth pains that will be worse than even Dr. Fisher thinks?  We are going to find out soon that is for sure.

Prophecy Sign: Take a look at the warning Jesus gave us concerning our generation being the drug generation. “The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshipping demons…Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts” (Revelation 9:20-21). The words “magic arts” in Revelation 9:21 are the equivalent to the Greek word pharmakia from which our word “pharmacy” is derived. It signifies the use of medicine, drugs, spells, such as those used in witchcraft and those used today by those who are seeking a greater “high.”  Most of the world is fighting the ever growing problems surrounding the increase in drug use.  Mexico is one of the nations with the worse drug problem.  New just released stated, “MEXICO CITY — An explosion of drug violence in Mexico has killed hundreds of people in the past five days and prompted the country's president to issue a 5,000-word manifesto warning that the fight against organized crime must continue "or we will always live in fear."  Mexico has seen more people killed in this drug war than there have been killed in the Iraq war.  The drug sign is only one of many signs Jesus pointed to, but when you put them all together you see how close we are to seeing the return of the Lord.

Prophecy Sign: In Matthew 24: 32-39 Jesus point blank tells us that our generation would become just like that of Noah’s generation.  Studying what the people were like in Noah’s generation and watching current events unfold anyone who knows the Word of God knows that what Jesus had warned us has come to pass.  One of the traits of the Noah generation was the people turned to homosexuality. 

More than 800 orthodox rabbis from across the U.S. and Canada are speaking out against an amendment to repeal the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, saying it constitutes a rebellion against God. The House and the Senate Armed Services Committee voted in May to include an amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill that would repeal the military's ban on homosexuals serving openly. Rabbi Yehuda Levin, spokesman on family issues for the Rabbinical Alliance of America, representing the views of approximately 850 orthodox rabbis, issued a statement ahead of the expected full Senate vote.” This report goes on to say, “ Levin argued that Bible-believers will find themselves faces with insurmountable challenges if they choose to serve in the military. "How queer that politically correct 'equality'-fanatics in the military, who have already recognized the 'religious rights' of Wiccans, would single out traditional Bible-believers to be the object of their zero-tolerance policies," he wrote. "This will render it nigh impossible for Bible adherents to serve in the military." Levin blasted lawmakers for pushing the legislation forward and urged people of all faiths to refuse to vote for representatives who pander to homosexuals. "Passage of such evil legislation would expedite our hurdling towards Sodom and Gomorrah," he wrote. "It would also threaten to repel Divine Grace from our military's struggles and beyond. We call upon the Senate to unapologetically filibuster this legislation. We also ask all people of faith to adhere to our previous declaration that it is forbidden to vote for office-seekers who support the homosexual agenda."

Here is the bottom line to all this.  What Jesus warned has already taken place in our generation and this generation will move faster into becoming a full blown generation like Noah saw.  This sign by itself is proof that we have almost run out of time before Jesus comes to remove His Church.   God told Noah to warn the people and he did.  The people laughed at him and said he was crazy.  They did this all the way up to the point where it began to rain.  Then the joke was suddenly over. The flood rushed in and everyone was killed except Noah and his family.  God saved them from His wrath.  Jesus also told us to warn the people. I am warning you in the like manner as Noah did to his generation and people are laughing at me calling me crazy just the way they did to Noah.  This in no way bothers me because I know Jesus is going to remove me to safety just like He did with Noah.  Then those who called us crazy will also see as Noah’s generation did that the joke has come to an abrupt end.
