Gold surges past $4,000 an ounce as uncertainty fuels rally

The price of gold has hit a record high of more than $4,000 (£2,985) an ounce as investors look for safe places to put their money over concerns about economic and political uncertainty around the world.

Gold has seen its biggest rally since the 1970s, rising by around a third since April when US President Donald Trump announced tariffs which have upset global trade.

Analysts say another issue worrying investors is delays to the release of key economic data as the US government shutdown enters its second week.

This silence could suggest that America has lost its influence and ability to act on the world stage. In any case, the fall of America’s global dominance appears to be a necessary step in the fulfillment of end-time prophecy. The rise of the Antichrist and the formation of the One World Government will not happen until the current superpowers are removed or subdued—and America’s fall may be the key event that accelerates that process.

Let me explain something about the Daniel 12:4 prophecy you see below. There is no question our generation is the one the Lord warned about. The global movement to make the Bible available in every language is gaining remarkable momentum, with new figures showing historic progress in translation efforts.

Many are teaching that, because we live in a generation experiencing an unprecedented explosion of knowledge and because Bibles are now being placed into the hands of millions in their own languages, Jesus’ return must be very near. Revelation 14:6–7 tells us:

This passage occurs during the tribulation, likely in its first half, serving as a divine call for repentance before God’s judgments intensify. Notice that it is an angel, not humans, preaching the gospel to every nation, tribe, language, and people—not just to believers. Our generation may be blessed with the ability to distribute Bibles worldwide, but it is the angel who ensures that the message reaches everyone.

The timing of this angel’s mission tells us something critical: the tribulation must begin first. The seven-year period known as the tribulation has not yet started.

Later, in Revelation 14:9–11, another angel issues a warning to the entire world not to take the mark of the beast—the Antichrist. This warning fits into the tribulation timeline: the Antichrist will rise and begin enforcing his mark in the middle of the tribulation, setting the stage for God’s final judgments.

Paul clarifies in 2 Thessalonians 2:3–5 that two things must occur before the rapture of the Church:

“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.”

The first is a great falling away from the faith, and the second is the revealing of the man of lawlessness, the Antichrist. Scripture tells us that from the moment the Antichrist is revealed, there will be 1,260 days until Jesus returns to establish His kingdom on Earth.

• Earthquakes, major storms, and natural disasters are increasing in frequency and intensity.
• Violence and lawlessness are rising globally — just like the days of Noah and Lot.
• Pestilences and new diseases continue to emerge, including global pandemics.
• A record number of Jews are ascending the Temple Mount, with growing calls to rebuild the Third Temple.

Jesus said these signs would be like birth pains — increasing in frequency and intensity as the end draws near. If you’re seeing this, it’s not by accident. God is giving this generation every possible warning. The time is short, and the signs are undeniable. I could go on and on but I will finish with this, Jesus also warned our generation would be like Sodom and Gomorrah and Lot’s generation. Their generation were infamous for widespread sexual immorality and perversion (Genesis 19). We are seeing a redefinition and distortion of sexuality and gender on a global scale. The normalization — even celebration — of behavior the Bible clearly identifies as sin.
Today, our generation is witnessing: Perversion being promoted in media, schools, and even children’s content. There is no question now we are in those last days Jesus talking about. The only question is, will you believe him?
