How can you know? Take a look at this article that just came out concerning the blood moon phenomenon. Just about everyone who writes about prophecy has a take on what so many are calling the beginning of the end. So is there an answer to this question from Christ? Yes, there is and it is found in the book of Revelation.
“A rare astrological event set to take place next week could herald the “end of days,” according to some who have been following the blood moon phenomenon. The internet is awash with forecasts, from cataclysmic catastrophes to the Rapture, as a fourth lunar eclipse in two years — the series is known as a tetrad — will fall on the first night of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot taking place on September 28. Some Christians believe the celestial event could mark the start of disaster, based on a passage from the Book of Joel, which reads: “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord comes.”
If you know what the Book of Revelation says concerning the sun and the moon you would know when this event takes place. I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red” (Rev. 6:12). Exactly when does this event take place? It takes place in the middle of the tribulation. Since we haven’t even started the tribulation yet there is no possible way that the sixth seal can take place on the 28th of September this month! So, once again we are reading a article from people who do not know the book of Revelation and so all you will get is people who read this report will probably get worried. After the 28th of this month when you see the world did not come to an end nor the Church raptured let your friends know who warned you that at this time they did not have to be concerned. What we know for sure is right after the 6th seal there is silence in heaven for 1/2 hour and it is probably at this time that the Church goes home to Christ.

Thank you Frank thats where I have been with this blood moon we still have a way to go and i think this scripture you refer to is not connected to this blood moon. A blood moon over Isreal is a warning TO THEM THAT A POSSIBLE WAR maybe possible around the temple mount. and the building of the 3rd temple must take place first.
I noticed on the FAQ of the Temple Institute site that they do not need a temple to begin their sacrifices. They only need an altar (which apparently they have completed and ready to move at a moments notice) standing in the right spot on the Temple Mount. They can then build around their service (as they did in the time of Ezra). Check it out! I found it fascinating.
