Yesterday’s news showed us quite a bit going on in Israel. First up- The Temple Mount.  clip_image0027.jpg

The Beis Hamikdash (Temple) Revealtion 11:1-2 & Daniel 9:27

A group of rabbis and yeshiva heads have submitted a petition to the Knesset demanding legislation to extend Jewish sovereignty on the Temple Mount (the first time the issue ever has been discussed on the floor of the legislature) . The petition comes ahead of Knesset deliberation on policies regarding the Temple Mount, due to begin in the middle of next week. The session will review a proposal by MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud) to place the entire Temple Mount under Israeli supervision. “If you will go up with me to the Mount, I’ll show you how the remnants of Solomon’s Temple and the Temple of the Jews who returned by Babylon are wallowing in ashes,” said Feiglin from the podium. He sarcastically added “maybe, Mr. Chairman, we’ll invite the maintenance crew to dismantle the symbol of the nation,” a reference to the destruction of artifacts on the site by the Jordanian Waqf (Islamic trust). Feiglin attacked the discriminatory management of the holy site, which is under the de facto rule of the Waqf. Jews are often forbidden from entering and arrested for having religious or national symbols. “I call on the government of Israel to stop the discrimination and embarrassment of Jews in entering the Mount and on the site,” declared Feiglin. He further called on the government “to allow free access to all Jews to the Temple Mount from every gate, and prayer on the Mount, as required by it being part of the state of Israel, the Jewish state,” which stipulates freedom of worship. MK Shuli Muallem (Jewish Home) stepped in by reading a letter written by Netanyahu in 1994, before his first term as prime minister. In the letter Netanyahu wrote “the right of the Jewish people over its holy site – the Temple Mount – can not be questioned; I think that Jewish prayer rights at the site must be arranged, all the more so because we give freedom of religion to all religions in Jerusalem.”

Yesterday Jordon’s king expressed growing stance on the ‘plight’ of Palestinians by stating Jordan as a “‘substitute homeland’ an illusion in the minds of rumour-mongers”.  Many people have wondered how the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan, which has been in effect since 1994,will be broken.  Since we KNOW through God’s Word in Psalm 83 that this WILL happen, we have only to watch.  And it looks as though it will happen not only due to the Palestinians, but also because of the Temple Mount.

Jordanian ministers have expressed strong disapproval of any challenge to Jordan’s sovereignty over Jerusalem’s Muslim and Christian holy sites. The Jordanian parliament’s lower house even voted early in February to expel Israeli Ambassador Daniel Nevo and to recall the Jordanian Ambassador to Israel, Walid Obeidat. President Shimon Peres assured Jordan this month that Israel would honor its agreements with Jordan and ensure that all worshipers could pray in their holy sites. Apparently, that was not enough as you can see from today’s headline:

Headline: Jordanian MPs Demand End to Peace With Israel Over Temple Mount

Jordan’s opposition Islamists called on the government to freeze a 1994 peace treaty with Israel as the Knesset was Tuesday to debate Israeli sovereignty over the Temple Mount, according to AFP. “We urge the government to meet the demands of people who have repeatedly called for freezing and eventually cancelling the peace treaty,” the Islamic Action Front said on its website. The Islamic Action Front , the political arm of Jordan’s branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and main opposition party, said the planned debate “proves that Jordanian policies in dealing with the enemy (Israel) have failed.”

Tuesday morning brought riots to the Mount which Rabbi Chaim Richman, International Director of the Temple Institute, points out are in direct response to the historic discussion regarding Israeli sovereignty on the Temple Mount which is scheduled to take place in the Knesset Tuesday. Police arrested three Arab rioters Tuesday morning on suspicion of throwing rocks and firecrackers at police on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, right after police opened the Rambam Gate entrance to the Mount. Two police officers were wounded and are being taken to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital. According to Kikar HaShabbat, dozens of Muslims began throwing rocks and fireworks at police once the gate, which is the only entrance through which Jews may enter the Mount, was opened. A police force dispersed the rioters through the use of stun grenades. Police have closed the Mount to Jewish visitors as a result of the riots.

From the Temple Institute :  Photo: One last pose for the camera before it's lights-out! A good night's sleep is needed so that in the morning the stone and fire-bomb throwing can begin as scheduled.

ALL-NIGHT MOSQUE SLEEPOVER HATE-FEST! Photos posted on Arabic Facebook pages are incontrovertible evidence that the rock and fire-bomb throwing riot this morning was not only planned well in advance, but completely preventable, if only the Israeli police cared to prevent it. Muslim youth, answering the call of radical Muslim clerics, began streaming to the Temple Mount on Monday evening, where they proceeded to have a “sleepover” in the Al Aqsa mosque. Police were aware of the large numbers of Muslims arriving and of their intentions, yet chose to do nothing. Only on Tuesday morning, when Jewish worshipers began to arrive at the Temple Mount and were met by stone-throwing masked Muslim youth did  the police decide to spring into action, and do what they do best: Close the Temple Mount to non-Muslims, and hand an easy victory, once again, to the forces of Muslim racism and hatred. The victorious rioters celebrated their easy victory by unfurling the flags of the various Palestinian terror organizations. The police, in an absurd attempt to cover up their crime of passive collusion, insisted throughout the morning that the Temple Mount remained open to non-Muslims. Only when would-be Jewish pilgrims reported to the media that the Temple Mount was, in fact, closed to non-Muslims, did the police admit as much to Agence France Presse.

Now we get to another Psalm 83 nation- Lebanon and yesterday’s news Israeli warplanes attacked targets on the border between Lebanon and Syria on Monday night.  When I posted this news, the story was still developing and Hezbollah television channel Al-Manar reported that “security sources have yet to confirm that Israeli planes attacked inside Lebanese territory in the eastern mountainous areas.”Today brings more information:

Headline: In no mood for fight, Hezbollah downplays reported Israeli strike

The morning after Israeli planes reportedly attacked Hezbollah targets on the Lebanon-Syria border, many in Israel’s defense community are wondering how the Shiite terror group will respond, if it does so at all. Hezbollah has so far offered few clues, downplaying or ignoring the reports of multiple strikes Monday night on a missile shipment or missile base in the Baalbek region. On Tuesday morning, Hezbollah’s al-Manar channel opened its news broadcast with clashes on the Temple Mount between Palestinians and Israeli police (or “forces of the Zionist enemy” in its terminology). The most overt reference on the al-Manar website to the reported Israeli attack was that “senior security officials did not confirm that there was an attack.” Earlier, the network said there had been “no raid on Lebanese territory,” reporting only the “strong presence of enemy planes over the area north of Bekaa” in eastern Lebanon. The al-Mayadeen channel, considered close to Hezbollah, also buried news of the attack late Monday. Its headline emphasized that “there were no injuries or damage” in the raid, contradicting reports of Hezbollah casualties in al-Arabaiya. The report seemed to telegraph to the Lebanese public how inconsequential the attack was.

Following the reports that Israel struck a shipment of Hezbollah’s weapons on the Lebanon-Syria border Monday, a senior Israel Navy officer has warned that the Shi’ite militia is still actively trying to get hold of advanced weaponry. “The major players in the arena are active and relevant. Hezbollah has not stopped for a second to try and get its hands on advanced weaponry,” said Brigadier-General Eli Sharvit, commander of the Haifa naval base, and also responsible for naval affairs in the north. Speaking to reporters about Syrian arms transfers to Hezbollah, Sharvit said, “The efforts of the organizations, including Hezbollah, to get their hands on attack weapons are not ceasing, and we have to deal with their desire.” Sharvit refused to respond to Monday’s reports about Israeli strikes in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. He added, however, that the navy predicts that “advanced weaponry, including ‘Yakhont’ (long-range anti-ship) missiles, are in Hezbollah’s hands.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would neither confirm nor deny that Israel had struck a target in Lebanon. During a news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday, Netanyahu declined to answer directly whether Israel Air Force jets had attacked what the Lebanese media said was a Hezbollah missile base, and a route for smuggling arms to Syria. “Our policy is clear – we will not speak about reports of what we did or didn’t do,” Netanyahu said in response to a reporter’s question. “We do all that is necessary in order to defend our citizens,” Netanyahu added. The Israeli army had not commented on the reports.

So far PM Netanyahu, the Israeli Navy nor the Army have commented. However, today an anonymous Israeli official tells TIME that IAF jets DID strike a transport destined for Hezbollah of surface-to-surface missiles near the Syria-Lebanon border. The unnamed senior security official hinted to TIME that the Lebanese, Shi’ite terrorist organization was capable of carrying warheads heavier and more dangerous than Hezbollah’s reported stockpile currently pointed toward Israel.

And on to Germany- or GOMER- as seen in the Ezekiel War Ezekiel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s landed in Israel Monday along with her entire cabinet. “We have come here with almost the whole of our new government and we wanted to show you in this way that this is indeed a very strong friendship,” Merkel said. On Tuesday, she expressed public support Tuesday for Israel’s security requirements and its demand to be recognized by the Palestinians as a Jewish state. Germans are unfamiliar with the constant fear of terror attacks Israelis live with daily, the chancellor said, and especially considering the country’s small size it was important to guarantee that its citizens feel secure. Israeli President Shimon Peres even awarded Merkel with the Presidential Medal of Distinction in a ceremony at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. Merkel was given the award – comparable to France’s Legion d’Honneur or Washington’s Presidential Medal of Freedom – for “standing by” Israel and her fight against anti-Semitism and racism.

Germany and Israel are also today due to sign an agreement allowing Germany to represent Israel’s diplomatic and consular relations in countries where Israel has no embassy especially in Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia; German Der Spiegelnewspaper reported. The newspaper quoted a statement by the Israeli Embassy in Berlin saying the agreement promotes relations between the two sides and allows Germany to represent Israel’s consular affairs in countries where Israel has no embassy. Der Spiegel also quoted the Israeli ambassador in Berlin Yakov Hadas-Handelsman as saying the German offer represents a special message from Germany and reflects its global status.

While all the above comments seem to indicate that Germany is a good friend of Israel- we know they are part of an alliance that will attack Israel when they are finally living in peace and safety (“And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates- Ezekiel 38:11).

Speaking in German, Merkel told reporters that she did not support a boycott or labeling of settlement goods, but that Germany is obliged to follow European Union guidelines on the labeling of goods produced in Israeli settlements in the West Bank. ( *In June 2013, the European Commission sent new instructions to all EU countries, prohibiting the financing of, or the investment in, Israeli settlements established on occupied Palestinian and Syrian lands; the EU directives also prohibited distribution of grants or prizes to these settlements and their products. On July 19, the EU Commission published these decisions on its official webpage in a four-page document consisting of five sections. The document explains that the objective behind these guidelines is to affirm that the EU does not acknowledge Israeli sovereignty over Arab lands that were occupied in 1967, based on the principles of international law ( Article 49.6 of the 4th Geneva Convention states that ‘the Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer  parts of its own civilian populations into the territory it occupys’) and in line with the oft-repeated stance of the EU in this regard.) How do you think Germany will represent Israel in Arab countries?  By protecting Israel’s interests or by following along with the rest of the EU- as Merkel already stated they have no choice but to do??

Merkel also repeated her call for a “two-state solution” to solve the conflict, which we know from Joel 3:2 will bring God’s Judgment and God’s Curse

Gods Curse 7-26-12

“Part and parcel of the secure future for the State of Israel is the two-state solution, for which the federal government has also been working – a Jewish state of Israel and alongside it, a Palestinian state,” she said.  I don’t know about you, but I’ll be watching Germany closely over the next days!!

frank watching germany
