A seizure of a sizable amount of fentanyl led to the arrest of two people in Portland. Officials say the amount of fentanyl seized is large enough that it could kill the entire population of the city.
North Korea fires missile, Japan retracts take-cover warning
North Korea fired a ballistic missile of intermediate range or longer on Thursday, South Korea and Japan said, prompting an alert for residents in Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido to take cover. Japanese authorities later retracted the alert, saying an emergency warning system had made an erroneous prediction the missile would fall near the island. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan said his government would hold a National Security Council meeting on the launch.

San Francisco City Hall Meeting On Crime Canceled After Vandalism Knocks Out Internet
San Francisco is experiencing a surge in crime, despite leadership in the progressive-run town attempting to persuade everyone that the city is safe. The latest incident, and you can’t make this stuff up, involved vandalism of communication infrastructure near City Hall that caused a meeting to be canceled. According to The San Francisco Standard, a Tuesday meeting of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors was postponed after a telecommunications box had been “completely destroyed” down the street from the San Francisco City Hall building.
