What is so important about the East Gate in Jerusalem that has the Muslims so angered again? To understand we first must read the prophecy in Ezekiel 44:1-3 below.
“Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing east, and it was shut. The Lord said to me, ‘This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no man may enter through it. It is to remain shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it. The prince himself is the only one who may sit inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the Lord. He is to enter by way of the portico of the gateway and go out the same way’” (Ezekiel 44:1-3).
The picture you see above is the East Gate which is also called the Golden Gate or, Gate of Mercy and, is the only eastern gate of the Temple Mount, and one of only two Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem that used to offer access into the city from the East side. The gate has been sealed since the Middle Ages. Its interior can be accessed from the Temple Mount.
Okay, now that you know about the East Gate let’s look at part of the Ezekiel prophecy which says, ” It is to remain shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it. This prophecy tells us that the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it. Do you know who that is? It is Jesus Christ! When he came the first time Jesus entered through that gate so that part of the prophecy was fulfilled. Then Ezekiel tells us that the East Gate would be sealed up. It is interesting who shut up the East Gate. The gate in its present form was sealed by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman in 1541. Why would the Muslim Sultan Suleiman shut the Gate? Could Suleiman think that by shutting the gate it would stop the rest of Ezekiel’s prophecy from being fulfilled? As for me, I think so. Jesus as the God Man entered through the gate and according to Ezekiel he will do it again. I quote Ezekiel, “He is to enter by way of the portico of the gateway and go out the same way’”. Since the Gate was shut by Muslims no one has passed through that gate. Even in these last days the Muslims still think that if the gate stays shut the God of Israel can not come. Good luck with that one. Nothing is going to stop the rest of Ezekiel’s prophecy from being fulfilled. Look at what the Muslims have placed in front of the East Gate. They have over the years put a massive Muslim cemetery in front of the East Gate thinking God would not walk over Muslim graves. The graves therefore represent an attempt to “defile” anyone who would ascend the hill in order to enter the gate. No Muslim graves will stop God from entering that East Gate. Look at what the word of God tells us about the one who can ascend.
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. —Psalm 24:3-4 In other words, nobody can ascend into God’s presence. None of us qualify as having clean hearts. “No one is good except God alone,” Jesus confirmed (Luke 18:19). So, no matter what the Muslims think or try to do to keep Jesus from going through the East Gate, when he returns it won’t work, Christ will fulfill the prophecy because he is God.
As you will see from today’s news the Muslim Waqf are still trying to take control of what happens with the East Gate however, the Israeli Police one again stepped in and put a halt to their attempts to make changes. Another reason why this news is so important is because it brings us back to the real issue which is control of the Temple Mount. You see the Muslims know where the East Gate leads. Where you ask? It is the way to the Temple Mount where Jesus showed via scripture in the last days there would be a Third Jewish Temple built. Now you see why the East Gate issue is tied together with the Muslims protesting allowing Jews on the Temple Mount. Little by little the Jews are being allowed to ascend up to the Temple Mount. Fact is, over the past 3 years there have been a record number of Jews who were allowed to ascend up to the Temple Mount. Of course in the news today you see once again what the Muslims warn concerning the Jews being able to have access to the Temple Mount. I quote as section from the report below. “Any attempt to change the status quo will have dangerous consequences that the Israeli occupation will be blamed for.”
Waqf trying to establish mosque to block Messiah’s gate on Temple Mount; claims Christians as allies
This week, the Israeli police were forced on two separate occasions to dismantle illegal renovations being carried out by the Waqf on the Temple Mount at the Shaar HaRachamim, the Gate of Mercy, also known as the Golden Gate.
The subterranean hall was locked in 2003 by court order after it was used as a meeting place for a Hamas-affiliated organization. In 2019, Palestinians illegally forced their way into the site and transformed it into a prayer hall.
The Palestinian Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, decried the actions of the police.
“The mosque belongs only to Muslims,” he said. “We reject any [Israeli] attempt to interfere in the administration of the Islamic holy sites. We are opposed to any attempt to alter the status quo at the Haram al-Sharif.”
Inexplicably, the Palestine Chronicle published a report that seemed to contradict the Mufti’s remarks, claiming that Christians also had an interest in the renovations. The Chronicle cited the “Islamic-Christian Committee” as opposing the Israeli actions, which they claimed were geared towards converting the “mosque” into a synagogue.
“The Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem and its Sanctuaries’ yesterday warned that the Israeli occupation is planning to turn the Bab Al-Rahma Prayer Hall into a Jewish synagogue,” they wrote, citing Quds Press. It should be noted that non-Muslims, including Christians, are banned from entering any of the structures on the Temple Mount. They are, however welcome at the Western Wall and all other Jewish holy sites that are under Israeli control.
“In a statement, the committee warned of a pre-planned Israeli maneuver to Judaise Al-Aqsa Mosque, pointing out that ‘separating Bab Al-Rahma Mosque from the whole area of Al-Aqsa Mosque and turning it into a Jewish synagogue is part of the plan’,” the Palestine Chronicle concluded. the committee stressed that “Any attempt to change the status quo will have dangerous consequences that the Israeli occupation will be blamed for.”

Just because a person calls herself a Protestant minister does not mean she is acting as a real minister of Christ. The report below is a example of a person who got caught doing something no real minister of the Lord would never do. Yet Arizona Democratic Rep. The prophet Daniel did not understand what this prophecy meant because it was for the last generation to understand it and, the meaning would be sealed until that last generation came along. Then would we know when the time of the end was? By the mire fact that the last generation would advance in knowledge more than any other generation while at the same time millions upon millions of people would be traveling back and forth daily. Our generation has advanced more than all the generations before it and it is still advancing at hyper speed because of computers and now artificial intelligence. No other generation can make a claim to this end time prophecy except ours! God does give a major sign when the last days would be known. Look what Daniel 12:11 says, 11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. 13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance. In a nutshell God is showing us that there would be a Third Temple built in the end times that the Jews would be doing daily sacrifices but, the Antichrist would stop those sacrifices. Why do you think there is so much trouble on the Temple Mount right now? Before the Jews are pushing to pray on the Mount and rebuild that Third Temple. The Jews are already practicing sacrificing animals and soon they will be doing it for real at the rebuilt Temple just as Jesus warned us.
