I don’t know how many time I have read the Bible but, I can assure everyone there no prophecies pointing to any horse winning the triple crown. I can not believe how far astray people are going from the true word of our Lord claiming they are some kind of prophet foretelling us that this past horse race this weekend was a word from God. I received a phone call today from a person who comes to my site often and he wanted to ask me if there was any truth in what people are saying about the triple crown winner. Before I hung up the phone this is what I told the caller. I quote myself, “I didn’t know anything about what you have asked me but, this I can tell you, who ever is saying this race was a fulfillment of prophecy and a warning from God has said because the horses name has American and Pharaoh in it they are using this name in saying it is about President Obama and America! After I got off the phone I checked a few prophecy sites and sure as day that is exactly what these people are saying. What was one of the first things Jesus Christ warning us to look for in Matthew chapter 24? Read verse 4. ” 4 Jesus answered:“Watch out that no one deceives you.” If people are proclaiming that prophecy is being fulfilled give me the bible verses which tell us to watch for horse races. There is no prophecy in the entire bible like this. Look at what 2 peter 3: 16-17 says. “16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstablepeopletwist to their own destruction, asthey doalso the rest of the Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, since you knowthisbeforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;”.
Without a question we have unlearned people trying to make people think they know something that you don’t and what is sad is many people will fall for it. I don’t care who it teaching this false doctrine about this weekends horse race fulfilling prophecy, if it can not be shown to us in the bible then what you have been taught is not the truth. I don’t care how much drama comes across in how they are telling you this, it is false. You want truth, here is some truth. This is what Jesus said, in Matthew 7:15, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
If you want to see for yourself what these people are saying go and do a Google search and type in the following: American Pharoah fulfilling prophecy youtube. If you are wise and are following the directions the Lord Jesus gave us you will ask the question to the people who are teaching this to show you where in the bible are you reading what you are teaching? Bottom line: It is not found in the bible!!!!! Acts 2:17 tells us the following: “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. When you watch these videos you may find that they quote the Acts 2:17 scriptures. In doing so they are telling you they are prophets. A true prophet will never tell us something that in not found in the bible!.

Headline: “Battalion of Sheikh Omar Hadid” Claims Rocket Attack on Three Targets in Israel
A day after Israeli planes bombed targets in the Gaza Strip following rocket fire at southern Israel, Hamas blamed Israel for the latest escalation, demanding it be forced to meet ceasefire agreements. “The Israeli escalation is in breach of the ceasefire terms, and the occupation is responsible,” Hamas official Ismail Radwan was quoted as saying Thursday by Israeli news site Ynet. Radwan called on Egypt and the international community to force Israel to meet the ceasefire terms drafted at the end of a 50-day war in between Israel and Hamas-led fighters in and around Gaza last year. But he ruled out the possibility that Israel would start another military operation in the Strip. His comments were the only official Hamas reaction so far to the latest round of fire. Meanwhile, the Gaza-based “Battalion of Sheikh Omar Hadid” claimed credit for a rocket attack on Ashkelon, Eshkol, and Netivot in Israel, and called them acts of revenge for Hamas killing a militant in order to “please the Jews”.

The prophet Zechariah told us in the last days Israel would be a burden to the world. What Zechariah said is taking place right now and we see nation after nation turning on Israel. The photo you are looking at was from Feb. 2014 and it shows the nations who are boycotting Israel. Since then more nations are following the boycott. For example, below you see Israel now having problems with France.
Headline: Netanyahu slams ‘miserable’ Orange move to cut Israel ties
Jerusalem (AFP) – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday condemned the “miserable” decision of French telecoms giant Orange to withdraw its brand from Israel, urging Paris to distance itself from the company. “I call on the French government to publicly renounce the miserable remarks and the miserable action of a company that is under its partial ownership,” he said, a day after Orange’s chairman announced he would withdraw from Israel “tomorrow morning” if he could. Orange, which is partly controlled by the French government, announced on Thursday its decision to end its brand-licensing agreement with Partner, Israel’s second largest mobile operator, stressing that the move was not politically motivated. However, Israel saw the decision as a “boycott” linked to Partner’s operations in the occupied West Bank. http://news.yahoo.com/netanyahu-slams-miserable-orange-move-cut-israel-ties-161631313.html
If you want to track who is boycotting Israel go to the BDS site you see below in red. Now here is a question for you. If someone asked you why are nations boycotting Israel would you be able to tell them why? First of all the Divestment and Sanctions (B.D.S.) movement, was launched in 2005 by Palestinian civil society in response to Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights. As you can see from the photo below of the wall that divides the Palestinians from the Israeli’s this wall is a large part of what the world is now calling human violations against the Palestinians. Of course one of the main reasons why the world is coming against Israel is because of the failed Middle east peace talks. Most of the world including the USA now is putting the blame solely on Israel. You won’t see mentioned to often that the wall went up because the Palestinians were attacking and killing the Jews. Even to this very day you see the PLO and all the different groups such as Hamas, and Hezbollah still launching rockets into Israel.
Link up what Zechariah said about Israel and what Paul the Apostle wrote about the peace and safety topic and you see for yourself that these events are linked to the end time prophecies. In case you don’t know what Paul wrote us as directed from Christ take a look. I Thessalonians 5:3,4: “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” God tells us the future and all who read the Bible already know what is coming next! For example what about this wall that run 372 miles? We know that when the Psalm 83 war breaks out which will by the way include the PLO, this wall will no doubt be standing. Once the enemies of Israel are wiped out by Israel this wall will come down as the Jews will feel safe now that their enemies are gone. Do I have wisdom about the walls future that you don’t. If I do it is only because you did not study what the prophecy Ezekiel wrote. Take a look at Ezekiel 38:11. “You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people–all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. When you take a look at the photo below you will see the wall, the gates, and the bars Ezekiel was talking about. When the Psalm 83 war is over and the wall comes down. The Ezekiel 38:11 prophecy will come into play. You see those Islamic nations who saw Israel wipe out the Arabs listed in the Psalm 83 war will join up as one huge force and attack Israel who at this time will not have the walls, gates, or the bars to protect them.
When you read the rest of Ezekiel 38 and 39 you will learn Israel will not need the walls, gates, or bars because we are told that God Himself will fight and wipe out the armies who come against Israel in the Ezekiel 38 war. So, all I can say is this. Expect more nations to boycott Israel and, expects the entire world to turn on Israel and see them as a people who do nothing but burden the world. What you are witnessing is only the beginning of things to come!
“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” (Psalm 83)

Headline: Nasrallah threatens to displace ‘millions’ of Israelis in future war
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Friday threatened to leave millions of Israelis without homes in a future war between the Lebanese Shiite militia and the Jewish state. Addressing supporters in south Beirut, Nasrallah said that the “time in which Israelis destroyed our homes and maintained their homes has ended in 2006,” referring to the Second Lebanon War in which the IDF battled with Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon for a month. “I clearly say to Israel: the Resistance (Hezbollah) threatens to displace millions of Israelis in the next war if imposed on Lebanon,” Nasrallah said. He appeared refer to statement from an unnamed IDF official quoted in the Jerusalem Post on Thursday saying that if given no choice, Israel would “evacuate 1 million, 1.5 million residents in Lebanon, and act” in a future conflict.

Syria Headline: ISIS militants at the gates of Hassakeh
ISIS bombers have blown up about a dozen explosive-packed trucks at Syrian army checkpoints around the government-held northeastern city of Hassakeh over the past five days, the city governor said Thursday. Government troops and militias have been battling to repel ISIS attacks to the south of Hassakeh, which is close to the Iraqi border. “More than thirteen explosive-laden vehicles have attacked army checkpoints and sowed terror and fear among citizens,” City Governor Mohammad Zaal al Ali told state television by telephone from inside the city. Despite the attacks, the militants has been repelled and the army was manning new checkpoints across Hasaka. Rami Abdulrahrman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said on Thursday that ISIS fighters had moved to within 500 m (0.3 miles) of the city’s southern entrance.

Syria Headline: 14 Dead in Regime Barrel Bomb Attack on Aleppo
At least 14 civilians, including seven children, were killed on Thursday when Syrian regime helicopters dropped barrel bombs on northern Aleppo province, a monitoring group told AFP. The attacks came as part of an intensified air campaign over Aleppo in recent weeks, despite an international outcry over the civilian deaths. In the village of Hayyan, north of Aleppo city, barrel bombs killed two elderly men, a woman, and five children from a single family, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. North of the provincial capital, six civilians — among them two children — were killed when barrel bombs were dropped on the village of Deir Jamal. The Observatory, which relies on a network of activists and fighters, said many were critically wounded or still stuck under the rubble. On May 31, barrel bombs dropped on rebel-controlled areas throughout Aleppo province killed more than 80 people, one of the highest daily tolls since the beginning of 2015, according to AFP.

Iraq Headline: ISIS reduces water supply to government areas in Iraq’s Anbar
ISIS militants have reduced the amount of water flowing to government-held areas in Iraq’s western Anbar province, an official said Thursday, the latest in the vicious war as Iraqi forces struggle to claw back ground held by the extremists in the Sunni heartland. The reduced flow of water through the militant-held dam on the Euphrates River will threaten irrigation systems and water treatment plants in nearby areas controlled by troops and tribes opposed to the extremist group, provincial council member Taha Abdul-Ghani told The Associated Press. Abdul-Ghani said there would be no immediate effect on Shiite areas in central and southern Iraq, saying water is being diverted to those areas from the Tigris River. The United Nations had said Wednesday that it was looking into reports that ISIS had reduced the flow of water through the al-Warar dam.

It said an investigation had been launched. The attack comes weeks after bomb explosions at two local HDP offices injured six people in southern Adana city and neighboring Mersin and days after officials said two supporters of a small Islamist party were killed in a fight with Kurdish party supporters in southeastern Turkey. Headline: Tehran expected to invoke defense pact for large-scale troop deployment to Syria
reliable sources in Tehran expected the Iranian government to invoke its 2006 mutual defense pact with Syria “in the coming hours” for the transfer of Iranian troops to Syria – most likely by air. This was reported by debkafile’s exclusive military and intelligence sources. It would be Tehran’s first direct military intervention in the Syria conflict as it goes into its fifth year. Bashar Assad’s regime and the Syrian and Hizballah armies are collapsing under the twin assaults of the Islamic State and the armed Syrian opposition forces and in need of urgent life support. The possibility of invoking the Iranian-Syrian mutual defense pact for saving the Assad regime was first raised in a debkafile article on May 30. Tehran was persuaded that, without direct intervention, its ally would go under at any moment Thursday when Islamic State forces broke through Syrian army defenses to the northern Syrian Kurdish town of Hasakeh, which sits on the Syrian-Iraqi-Turkish border junction. Towards evening, the Islamists had come to within one kilometer of the strategic town and captured its power station. Its defenders, the Syrian army’s 52nd Division, were falling apart under the ISIS assault; some of the soldiers making a run for it. Although the town is ruled by a coalition of central government and local Kurds, there was no operational coordination between the Syrian and Kurdish forces defending the town against the common enemy. If ISIS manages to take Hasakeh, it would chalk up its third major victory in a couple of weeks after capturing Palmyra in Syria and the Iraqi town of Ramadi.

Headline: No ammo to fight IS in central Libya, says military
The Islamic State (Isis) has kidnapped 86 Eritrean refugees in Libya, according to a Swedish-Eritrean activist. Meron Estefanos, human rights activist and co-founder of the International Commission on Eritrean Refugees in Stockholm, told IBTimes UK that the Eritrean refugees, including 12 women and children, were abducted two days ago (3 June) as they were travelling to Tripoli. Most of the kidnapped come from one city in Eritrea, Adi Keih, which is known for its opposition to the regime. “IS militants asked everyone who is Muslim or not and everybody started saying they are Muslims. But you have to know the Koran, and they didn’t,” Estefanos said, citing eyewitnesses who managed to escape. In April, IBTimes UK interviewed a 16-year-old Eritrean migrant who escaped captivity under IS. Nael Goitom said jihadists forced him to watch the beheading and shooting of Eritrean and Ethiopian Christians, which was shown in a three-minute video featuring extensive rants against Christianity and the West.

The Algerian army has raised its state of alert along the border with Libya after ISIS-inspired militants took control of areas in west Libya close to the border with Algeria, an Algerian security source said on Wednesday. Headline: Armenia to sell Iran gas pipeline to Gazprom
Armenia will sell its section of an Iranian gas export pipeline to Russia’s Gazprom, Deputy Energy Minister Ara Simonian has said. The takeover of the 41-kilometer-long pipeline, however, will not allow Gazprom to “mess with” gas imports from neighboring Iran, Simonian said. The decision leaves Moscow in full control of natural gas supply routes to Armenia. Gazprom delivers 2 billion cubic meters of gas a year to the ex-Soviet state and has a monopoly on supply and distribution in the country. Iran’s 450 million cubic meters per year of gas exports to Armenia in exchange for electricity are just a quarter of Gazprom’s supplies. For payment, Armenia provides Iran with three kilowatts per hour of electricity for every cubic meter of gas it receives. In March, Energy Minister Armen Movsisian said Armenia planned to increase its imports of gas from Iran to 2 billion cubic meters per year, an increase of nearly 75 percent. Gazprom, which controls Armenia’s entire gas pipeline system and furnishes most of the country’s gas, has not reacted to the announcement.

Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom)
Headline: Suicide Car Bomber in Nigeria Kills 8 Soldiers Near Barracks
A suicide bomber exploded a car at a checkpoint outside a military barracks and killed eight soldiers on Thursday, witnesses said of the latest of daily attacks blamed on Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeastern city of Maiduguri. More than 60 people have been killed by bombings and rocket-propelled grenades since Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari announced at his inauguration May 29 that the command center for the war on the Islamic extremists is moving from Abuja, the capital in central Nigeria, to the group’s birthplace in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state at the heart of the war zone. Later, a second bomb exploded near the main market in Yola, the first such attack to hit the capital of neighboring Adamawa state, police and witnesses said. At least two people were killed, police Deputy Supt. Othman Abubakar said. Hospital workers said they were treating 30 injured. “I can see blood splattered everywhere, including my car, but I can’t give any detail because we are all running,” said bread seller Ayuba Dan Mallam. In Maiduguri, the bomber exploded the car as soldiers were checking it outside Brigadier Maimalari Barracks on bustling Baga Road during the evening rush hour, according to Bashir Malam, a fighter with a civilian defense group that works alongside the military. Malam said he counted the bodies of eight soldiers.

Headline: Russian-backed Separatists Launch Offensive in Ukraine
The Ukrainian parliament has adopted amendments to state law allowing “admission of the armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine.” The possible hosting of foreign weapons of mass destruction is also mentioned in the documents. Amendments to Ukrainian law were adopted on Thursday by the Verkhovna Rada, receiving a majority of 240 votes (the required minimum being 226). The bill was submitted to the parliament in May by PM Arseny Yatsenyuk. It focuses on the provision of “international peacekeeping and security” assistance to Ukraine at its request.Peacekeeping missions are to be deployed “on the basis of decision of the UN and/or the EU,” the bill published on the parliament’s official website says. Previously, the presence of any international military forces on the territory of Ukraine not specifically sanctioned by state law was only possible by adopting a special law initiated by the president. Implementation of the new amendments “will create necessary conditions for deployment on the territory of Ukraine international peacekeeping and security” missions without the need for additional legal authorization, the explanatory note to the draft bill said. The presence of such armed forces in Ukraine “should ensure an early normalization of situation” in Donbass, the note added, saying that they would help “restore law and order and life, constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens” in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Headline: Greek PM to address parliament as stocks slide and Athens looks to Moscow
Greece will skip its €305m (£218m) payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday in a show of defiance as a deal between Athens and its creditors remains out of reach. The country invoked a rule created by the IMF in the 1970s that allows it to bundle all of its €1.6bn payments due this month into one. In a statement, Gerry Rice, the IMF’s chief spokesman, said: “The Greek authorities have informed the Fund today that they plan to bundle the country’s four June payments into one, which is now due on June 30. “Under an Executive Board decision adopted in the late 1970s, country members can ask to bundle together multiple principal payments falling due in a calendar month (payments of interest cannot be included in the bundle). The decision was intended to address the administrative difficulty of making multiple payments in a short period.”

Headline: EU weighs unprecedented reform as Britain threatens to leave
The prospect that economic and diplomatic heavyweight Britain might leave the European Union within two years has pushed EU leaders to consider concessions to keep the country in the fold. EU founding members like Germany and France are moving outside their comfort zones, surprisingly receptive to British Prime Minister David Cameron’s call for change ahead of a referendum that will allow citizens to vote on whether to stay or go before the end of 2017. With Europe’s top priority the very real risk that Greece might fall out of the euro single currency, Cameron has found a surprisingly open ear in many capitals of the world’s biggest trading bloc. “If there are adjustments to be made, it must be in the interest of all – so, Europe – while allowing the British people to speak when the time comes,” French President Francois Hollande said. “We have agreed to work together very closely,” German Chancellor Angela Merkel said after meeting Cameron recently. “Where there is a will, there is a way.” In the year since Cameron vowed to hold a referendum, he has not defined what changes he needs to argue for Britain to stay in the EU, which should leave room for compromise. One thing is clear: there is no will for wholesale change since it would be impossible to modify Europe’s treaties and ratify them in 28 parliaments in two years.

A magnitude-5.9 earthquake that struck near Southeast Asia’s highest peak early Friday injured 11 climbers and left about 130 people stranded, officials said. The quake struck northwest of Ranau district in Sabah state on Borneo early Friday at a depth of 34 miles, Malaysia’s meteorological department said. Sabah Parks director Jamili Nais said two climbers who were injured on the 4,095-meter peak have been brought down. Nine more people are believed to be injured among the 137 stranded on the mountain, he said. Their climbing route is apparently blocked or made dangerous by rocks and boulders loosened by the quake and small aftershocks, he said. Some of the stranded climbers are foreign, but it wasn’t clear how many. Jamili said helicopters can’t land due to bad weather and the high altitude, but park rangers and mountain guides are trying to help down the climbers.

Headline: Three homes destroyed; others damaged by Colorado tornadoes
Tornadoes that swept through Colorado destroyed at least three homes and damages over two dozen others, authorities said Friday. No injuries were reported. The tornadoes touched down near the towns of Berthoud and Simla on Thursday night also created a giant sinkhole about 15 feet deep on a street south of Denver that swallowed a police cruiser. The sergeant inside managed to crawl out and said he’s glad it happened to him and no one else. Lori Hodges, director of the Larimer County Office of Emergency Management, told the Associated Press that three homes suffered damage in the town of Berthoud, approximately 40 miles north of Denver. Crews were checking on reports of about 25 other homes that were possibly damaged, but they were hindered by foul weather and darkness. “The rain is so heavy in that area with hail that they are not able to get more damage assessments,” Hodges said. She added that flooding is a more immediate concern, with pelting rain expected to continue through the night.

Headline: Jewish Priests Perform Pentecost Temple Service In Anticipation Of Third Temple
On Monday, on a mountain ridge overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem and the ancient Temple Mount, kohanim (ancestral priests) performed a dry run of the Temple Service for the Shavuot (Pentecost) holiday. All three of the major components of the holiday service – bringing of the first fruits, preparation of two loaves of bread using the season’s new wheat, and a special holiday offering – were conducted to as great a level of detail as is possible at this point in time. Several kohanim, levi’im (ancestral Levites) and crowds of parents and children assembled on the Armon HaNatziv Promenade, just south of the Old City of Jerusalem, on the day after the official Shavuot holiday to newly re-enact this most joyous and beautiful ceremony, marking the time in the calendar when the wheat has just ripened and the first fruits of the season are ready for picking and eating by the entire populace. “We’ve come here because we want to be part of the End of Times and prophecy,” said a woman, who learned of the event through the Temple Institute website, to Breaking Israel News. What is important to understand is that the Shavuot holiday has not been celebrated in this manner for nearly 2,000 years. When the Great Temple stood at the center of Jerusalem, the entire populace celebrated this agricultural festival, which was harmonized directly with the agricultural activities that were the mainstay of industry in the Land of Israel.

President Obama took a step toward a tougher line with Israel in an interview released Tuesday, raising the possibility that the U.S. will allow a United Nations vote on issues related to the Palestinians if the two sides make no meaningful movement toward peace. In an interview with an Israeli television station, Obama noted that his administration has “up until this point” quashed such efforts at the U.N. while insisting that the Israelis and Palestinians must negotiate a resolution. But he said it is a challenge for the U.S. to keep demanding that the Palestinians negotiate in good faith if no one believes the Israelis are doing the same. “How do we move off what appears right now to be a hopeless situation and move it back towards a hopeful situation?” Obama asked in the interview. “That will require more than just words. That will require some actions. And that’s going to be hard work, though, because right now I think there’s not a lot of confidence in the process.” The comment was the latest sign that Obama has concluded that the U.S. must rethink its stance on the Mideast peace process if it is to maintain credibility in the world.

Headline: Netanyahu: All You Need to Know About BDS Is It Doesn’t Boycott ISIS
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu tore into British students Wednesday for joining the Boycott Israel movement, while a British official tried to cover up a government boycott action by promising a “commitment” to trade with Israel. The National Union of Students in Britain voted Tuesday to join the BDS movement to boycott Israel. The move has little practical effect but is an important propaganda victory for the Boycott Israel movement. The British government, along with France and several other countries, also have boycotted Israel by banning companies in their countries from staging an exhibition at this week’s seventh annual Israel Defense Expo in Tel Aviv. Rob Dixon, Britain’s Deputy Ambassador to Israel, ignored the ban at the exhibition, as if it didn’t happen, and assured Israel on Wednesday that his government is against BDS and is “committed to advancing trade links” with Israel. From the BDS website: “The global movement for a campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights was initiated by Palestinian civil society in 2005, and is coordinated by the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), established in 2007. BDS is a strategy that allows people of conscience to play an effective role in the Palestinian struggle for justice.”

Headline: Hezbollah seizes 15 positions on Arsal’s outskirts
Hezbollah fighters Wednesday seized at least 15 positions from militants on the outskirts of a volatile northeastern border town, killing at least 11 militants, a security source said. The source told The Daily Star Hezbollah fighters captured positions on the northern and southern outskirts of Lebanon’s Arsal along the porous mountain range on Syria’s western border. Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV said Wednesday Hezbollah fighters had seized control over Jabal al-Zaroub and Wadi Abu Daher, in addition to several other positions on Arsal’s outskirts. They also captured positions south of the border town, the report said, including the strategic Al-Sharouq peak. That position overlooks the areas of Al-Rahwe, Wadi al-Khayl and Wadi Atneen, allowing Hezbollah to target militant bases in the southern portion of the town’s outskirts. The party pounded militant positions in the area, destroying three armed vehicles belonging to the Nusra Front, Al-Manar reported, adding that jihadis fled en masse. It said the militants set fire to their tents before fleeing. Following Hezbollah’s offensive, militants retreated in the direction of Arsal’s southern outskirts, particularly the areas of Wadi Atneen and Wadi al-Khayl, Al-Manar said. The report said those two areas host the Nusra Front’s central command for Qalamoun.

Headline: 2 Egyptian police killed in Pyramids terror attack
Gunmen on a speeding motorcycle opened fire outside the plateau of the famed Giza Pyramids on the outskirts of Cairo on Wednesday, killing two members of the country’s tourist police, Egypt’s state news agency reported. The drive-by shooting was a rare attack at a tourist site. The state MENA news agency said the gunmen fled the area and that an investigation was underway. The surge in violence has followed the military’s ouster in 2013 of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and a crackdown on his group, the 87-year old Muslim Brotherhood, landing most of its leadership and thousands of its supporters in jail. Militants say the attacks are meant to avenge the crackdown. Sinai-based Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis — which has claimed most of the major attacks in Egypt — has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State extremist group fighting in Iraq and Syria and has declared itself to be the group’s Sinai Province.

Syria Headline: Syrian troops battle to repel Islamic State attack on city
Syrian troops and militia battled on Wednesday to repel an Islamic State attack on the city of Hasaka in the northeast, and a Kurdish official said the government forces may not be able to hold off the jihadists. Hasaka city is divided into zones run separately by the government of President Bashar al-Assad and a Kurdish administration, whose well-organized militia YPG receives air support from a U.S.-led alliance bombing Islamic State. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based group that monitors the war, said Islamic State used car bombs to attack government forces 2 km south of the city. State media reported fighting with Islamic State in the area and air strikes on its positions. “It is a serious attack. An attempt to make up for other losses,” Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the Observatory, said. Steady advances by insurgents in Syria have increased military pressure on Assad, whose government increasingly sees western areas near the capital and the coast as its priority in the four-year-old conflict.

Thousands of Iranian and Iraqi fighters have been deployed in Syria in past weeks to bolster the defenses of Damascus and its surroundings, a Syrian security source told AFP on Wednesday. “Around 7,000 Iranian and Iraqi fighters have arrived in Syria over the past few weeks and their first priority is the defense of the capital. The larger contingent is Iraqi,” the source said on condition of anonymity. “The goal is to reach 10,000 men to support the Syrian army and pro-government militias, firstly in Damascus, and then to retake Jisr al-Shughur because it is key to the Mediterranean coast and the Hama region” in central Syria, he added. Syria’s government lost control of Jisr al-Shughur in northwestern Idlib province on April 25, as a coalition of opposition forces including Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front swept through the region. Yesterday, Iran’s official news agency IRNA quoted elite Revolutionary Guards General Qassem Soleimani as saying “in the coming days the world will be surprised by what we are preparing, in cooperation with Syrian military leaders.” The agency cautioned however that it “takes no responsibility for the information.” ***See Kurdish headline below
Iraq Headline: ISIS militants close gates of dam in western Iraq
Islamic State militants have closed gates of a dam on the Euphrates River in western Iraq, reducing the water and giving them greater freedom of movement to attack government forces downstream on the southern bank, local officials said. The militants have redirected the flow of water to their advantage on the battlefield around the city of Ramadi. But the tactic also threatens southern provinces with drought and the water has been reduced to worrying levels, the officials said. The Euphrates has acted as a barrier between the militants who control its northern bank and pro-government forces who are are trying to advance towards Ramadi on the other side. A spokesman for the governor of Anbar province, of which Ramadi is the capital, said security forces would now have to redeploy along the river to prevent the insurgents from infiltrating. “Previously they had to monitor only the bridges and certain areas, but now all of the river will be crossable,” Hikmat Suleiman said.

Headline: Turkish police detains dozens in Kurdish southeast ahead of election
Turkish police detained dozens of people in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast Wednesday, security sources said, in an operation a pro-Kurdish politician described as a “provocation” ahead of Sunday’s parliamentary election. President Tayyip Erdogan seeks a large majority for the ruling AKP to allow it to change the constitution and grant him sweeping executive powers. A big vote for the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), which nationalists accuse of supporting Kurdish armed rebels, could hinder him in that ambition. The security sources said 43 people held in Sirnak province, bordering Syria and Iraq were planning protests on election day, adding that 37 more people were still being sought. Hasip Kaplan, an HDP MP for Sirnak, blamed the AK Party co-founded by Erdogan for the raids in what is an HDP stronghold. “This operation, brought about by the AKP government three days before the election, is in a word a ‘provocation,'” he told Reuters. “But the people will not be stirred up. We will thwart this provocation with our rally tomorrow.”

Headline: New Video Suggests ISIS Is About To Expand Into Tunisia
Tunisia is one of the biggest exporters of fighters to ISIS, sending more than 3,000 jihadists into the battlefields of Syria and Iraq, according to some reports. Now, the militant group appears close to setting up a new base in the North African country. Members of ISIS forums published a “teaser” titled “Soon, Soon” that promises a new video by an unknown group called “ISIS Tunisia Province.” The teaser footage claims to show ISIS members monitoring Tunisian soldiers and filming them with a hidden camera from inside a car. Following the releases of the video, ISIS affiliates in other places circulated messages saying that the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior had asked Twitter for information about the people who uploaded the video. The ISIS groups also called on members to use Twitter only with TOR, a browser that allows for anonymous communication. If ISIS indeed is poised to establish a beachhead in Tunisia, it would show much has changed in North Africa since the militant group emerged with a vengeance.

Saudi-led air strikes killed a group of around 20 Houthi fighters outside the southern Yemeni port city of Aden on Wednesday and also shook the capital Sanaa in the north, militiamen opposed to the Houthis said. The militia sources said the Houthis were killed when the air raid hit their military convoy as it was transporting an artillery piece toward the northwest suburbs of Aden. The death toll could not be independently verified. Residents in Aden complain of a worsening humanitarian situation as the Arab coalition has imposed a near blockade on food and fuel imports and fighting has cut off the city. In the battle-scarred district of Crater, residents said that four people died of dengue fever on Tuesday. Electricity, water and trash collection have lapsed during the conflict. Houthi officials said there were casualties in the air strikes on Sanaa but gave no further details. Locals saw ambulances racing to the scene. Residents said the warplanes launched at least 10 strikes north of Sanaa, causing massive explosions. Air strikes on Wednesday hit the home of a Houthi leader in the central province of Ibb and targeted areas in the northern province of Saada and the southern province of Lahj, residents said.

Headline: At least 6 dead, 90 injured in Donetsk in shelling by Kiev – local officials
Heavy artillery fire was reported around Donetsk city in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, in what observers described as some of the worst fighting in the months since a shaky ceasefire was declared. The Ukrainian General Command media office said that separatists fired heavy artillery from Donetsk city toward Mariinka early Wednesday. Mariinka has been controlled by Ukrainian government forces and sits on a strategically vital western highway to the city’s west, where checkpoints mark the end of separatist-controlled territory. The General Command said 200 separatist militants attacked Ukrainian positions and there was an exchange of fire for six hours. It denied reports that 25 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded or that their positions were surrounded. Eduard Basurin, a spokesman for the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic, confirmed there were clashes in Mariinka and that the fighting began because of “provocations” by Ukrainian forces. He added that Ukrainian forces shelled the Petrovsky and Kirovsky districts of Donetsk city overnight.

Headline: Drought fears in India after lower monsoon forecast
Media and experts are fearing a drought after India’s metrological department lowered its monsoon rains forecast to 88% this year. Monsoon rains between June to September are crucial for India’s farmers and also for the economy. The forecast in April was about 93% of the long-term average. But the reduced forecast in June has sparked fears of a drought. Millions of farmers across the country depend on monsoon rains for good yields and that eventually helps the economy. But any deficit becomes disastrous for India’s farmers. Usually rains below 90% are believed to bring a drought in several parts of India. The Zee News says it’s “a bad news for the country in general and the agriculture sector in particular”. The India Today magazine says the “Met department has predicted that the country is staring at the prospects of yet another drought”. Other papers like the Hindustan Times have highlighted the monsoon has already been delayed this year. “The arrival of the monsoons has already been delayed in the country’s southern tip, Kerala, by about four-five days and large parts of the country experiencing a searing heat wave which has left near 2,000 people dead,” it says.

Headline: Drought conditions bring damage to crops in South Korea
A drought has hit key crop regions in South Korea, leaving fields bone dry and delaying the country’s planting season. Seoul’s Agriculture Ministry said Wednesday local administrations and the Korea Rural Community Corporation were coordinating a joint response system to the detrimental conditions in areas near Seoul and in rural regions. Regions affected include Incheon, Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported. The Agriculture Ministry said a situation room is to go into operation to monitor the drought conditions in the areas affected. Aerial photos taken on Wednesday showed troubling images of a dried up lake in South Korea’s Gangwon province. Boats that once tugged along the waters were stranded atop a field of green weeds. South Korean television network KBS reported the rivers in the affected places were running at low levels, or at 60 percent. In the city of Paju and 12 other counties near Seoul, 3,521 acres of fields were parched. Another 5,360 acres of fields used to plant potato, corn and cabbage were at the risk of crop failure.

Blanca developed early Monday morning and turned into a tropical cyclone late in the day. The system is currently centered about 365 miles southwest of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and is moving west around 1 mph, The Associated Press reported. Information from the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) core observatory showed Monday that several areas of powerful precipitation were situated east of Blanca’s midpoint. The storm’s top altitudes also touched heights of more than 9.3 miles, indicating strong thunderstorms, Phys.org noted.

Headline: Hamas Front Group Receives UN Status
The Hamas front group the Palestinian Rights Center (PRC) received official UN non-governmental organization (NGO) status on Monday night, angering Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud). “The decision that a Hamas organization will join the UN is outrageous,” Hotovely stated. “Hamas, only last summer, was hiding behind women and children to fire missiles at Israeli civilian centers.” “Inserting the Hamas-affiliated organization into UN institutions is awarding a prize to terrorism and its activities – there is no other way to interpret this decision,” she added. Out of the 19-member Committee for NGOs, 12 supported the decision – including Iran, Sudan, Venezuela, Turkey, Pakistan, China and Cuba. Opposing were the United States, Uruguay and Israel alone; India, Russia and Greece abstained. Headline: Something Else Coming In September: A UN Resolution Establishing A Palestinian State
Headline: State Dept.: No Decision Yet on French UN Initiative
There has been a lot of talk about things that are going to happen in September, but something that has been almost totally overlooked is the fact that the UN Security Council is likely to be voting on a UN resolution which will establish a Palestinian state at that time. Right now, France is working on a proposed resolution which would give formal UN Security Council recognition to the Palestinians, would declare that a divided Jerusalem is the capital of both Israel and a Palestinian state, and would set the 1967 borders as the baseline for future negotiations which would establish the final borders between the two nations. It is being reported that France will submit this resolution for a vote after the 70th session of the UN General Assembly begins on the 15th of September. At this moment, 136 nations have already recognized a Palestinian state, but the United States has always blocked recognition by the UN Security Council. This time may be different though, because there are quite a few indications that Barack Obama actually plans to back the French resolution in September. If that happens, and the UN Security Council approves this resolution, it is going to have enormous implications for all of us.

Lebanese security sources said Tuesday that the Israel Air Force struck targets near its border with Syria in the east, the Lebanese Daily Star reported. Hezbollah’s media outlet, Al-Manar, immediately denied that there had been an Israeli strike. Israel has not yet responded to the report. There was no clear indication that the attack was indeed Israeli, or whether it was a spillover from Syrian infighting near the area. The reported strike took place near Britel, deep in the Bekaa Valley, 44 km south of the embattled town of Arsal. The security sources said it was unclear whether there were any casualties.

Islamic State jihadists in Syria have advanced on towns and villages close to the Turkish border, laying siege to one of the last supply routes into the city of Aleppo. In a lightening strike the jihadists have captured up to 25 villages in Aleppo province and closed in on the border town of Azaz, one of the last hubs for aid agencies providing help to tens of thousands of civilians trapped in war-riven Aleppo. “It’s a horror of death and bombing,” said one aid worker in the area, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of attacks from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil). “Today Azaz is being shelled. Humanitarian agencies were providing food and hygiene kits to people in Aleppo. But two nights ago, when the campaign began, they had to take what they could form the warehouses and escape.”

Iraq Headline: ‘2,300 Humvees in Mosul alone’: Iraq reveals number of US arms falling into ISIS hands
Iraq has admitted that ISIS jihadists captured huge caches of US-made weapons, including thousands of Humvees seized from Iraqi forces retreating from Mosul last year. The spoils of war have since then been used by ISIS to gain ground in Iraq and Syria. “In the collapse of Mosul, we lost a lot of weapons,” Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in an interview with Iraqiya state TV. “We lost 2,300 Humvees in Mosul alone.” Just this month the Pentagon estimated that at least half a dozen tanks were abandoned when Baghdad forces lost Ramadi, in addition to artillery pieces, and some 100 Humvees. Meanwhile the US approved new arms deliveries to the Iraqis last December to replenish the stock ransacked by IS. One contract allows the sale of 175 heavy M1A1 Abarams worth $12.4 billion, while another approves the delivery of 1,000 Humvees, equipped with M2.50 caliber machine guns and MK-19 40mm grenade launchers. They are exactly the types of weapons IS used to gain vast amount of territory both in Iraq and northern Syria. In fact, the first use of US-Humvees on Syrian territory was reported last year shortly after Mosul has fallen to jihadists.

Iraq Headline: IS suicide attackers slow Iraq’s Ramadi counterattack
A huge suicide bomb attack on an Iraqi police base killed at least 37 people Monday, further slowing an operation to retake the city of Ramadi from Islamic State jihadists. The blast came as US-led coalition members carrying out air raids against IS and providing training and weapons to Iraqi forces prepared to meet in Paris for talks on a string of major battlefield gains by the jihadists in Iraq and Syria. A suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden vehicle at a police base in Iraq’s Salaheddin province, killing at least 37 people and wounding more than 30, officers said. “They are mostly policemen,” said a doctor at the main hospital in the nearby city of Samarra where the casualties were taken. Some police officers said the suicide attacker used a tank to muscle his way into the police base, located between Samarra and Tharthar lake, northwest of Baghdad.

Iraq Headline: ISIS kills 41 police, militiamen in Anbar
Three ISIS suicide bombers targeted a police base in Iraq’s western Anbar province with explosives-laden Humvees Monday, killing at least 41 police and Shiite militiamen, officials said. The attack on a police station in the Tharthar area north of the ISIS-held provincial capital, Ramadi, caused a large secondary explosion in an ammunition depot, the officials said. Another 63 security forces members were wounded in the attack. Hospital officials confirmed the casualties. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to brief the media. Meanwhile, the U.N. mission to Iraq said Monday that more than 1,031 people were killed and another 1,648 were wounded in violence across the country last month. The U.N. figures showed that 665 civilians and 366 members of the Iraqi security forces were killed in May. Baghdad was the worst affected province with 343 killed and 701 wounded. But, the UNAMI statement excluded deaths from ongoing fighting in Anbar, due to problems in verifying the “status of those killed.” The figures also leave out insurgent deaths.

Headline: Erdoğan: ‘Liberate Jerusalem’ from the Jews
Just one week before upcoming parliamentary elections in Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and officials in his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) found a unique way to try and secure a victory at the polls by calling for the “liberation” of Jerusalem. “Conquest is Mecca, conquest is Saladin, it’s to hoist the Islamic flag over Jerusalem again; conquest is the heritage of Mehmed II and conquest means forcing Turkey back on its feet,” said Erdoğan in a speech on Saturday in Istanbul before millions who appeared to celebrate 562 years since the Turks captured Constantinople from European Christians. Erdoğan drew a straight historical line between the capture of Jerusalem from the crusaders by Saladin and the capture of Constantinople to the elections in Turkey due to take place next week. Although state employees were required to send a delegation to the celebration, under the threat of punishment, local media reported that many partakers left during the President’s speech. Attempts by Erdoğan and his allies to find political support by linking Jerusalem and Islam have formed a clear and solid trend in Turkey. Only a few days ago, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu dedicated a new airport in the south of the country, naming it after Saladin. According to Davutoğlu, “It’s a name that says to the Kurds, to Turkey, and to the Arabs, yes, this is our leader. “It’s a symbol that unites us,” he continued. “All those who claim that Jerusalem is the Jew’s holy city should be ashamed. We chose the name Saladin in order to send a message with the help of Allah that Jerusalem will always belong to the Kurds, to Turkey, to Arabs, to Muslims.”

Headline: Russia to Start Construction On New Iranian Nuke Plant
Headline: Iran tops up its nuclear fuel stockpile by one fifth
Russia announced on Monday that it would start construction this year on a second nuclear plant in Iran, according to regional reports. Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation made the announcement early on Monday, stating that it will begin building a second nuclear power plant in Iran’s southern region later this year, according to Iran’s state-controlled Fars News Agency. Meanwhile, an earthquake struck Monday morning near the site of Iran’s current nuclear power plant in Bushehr, near where the second plant will be built. Iranian media outlets reported the quake as hitting a 4.4 magnitude with no injuries occurring as a result. Iran’s southern region is prone to such incidents. Iranian officials announced in late 2014 that it had already begun the initial stages of construction on at least two nuclear plants in the region. In November, Tehran finalized a deal with Russia to aid in the construction of these plants.

Headline: 9 NGO Employees Shot Dead in Afghanistan
Police in northern Afghanistan said Tuesday unknown gunmen have shot dead at least nine employees of an aid agency. A female worker is among those killed in the overnight attack that took place in the Balkh province. The victims were from a non-governmental organization, People in Need, which is said to be working in the agriculture sector. The United Nations warned last month that the Afghan conflict has caused a record rise in civilian casualties in the first few months of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. No one has claimed responsibility for Monday’s killings of aid workers in Balkh, where Taliban insurgents have in recent days carried out frequent attacks against government forces and installations.

Headline: Report: Sudan airdropping weapons and ammunition to South Sudan rebels over the last year
Sudan has been supplying South Sudanese rebels with weapons and ammunition, a London-based research organization said Tuesday in a new report that appears to back South Sudan’s persistent allegations of northern interference. The report by Conflict Armament Research, which investigates weapons trafficking, said 70 percent of the ammunition it examined was recently manufactured in Sudan. It added that most of this ammunition had sustained heavy impact damage consistent with witness accounts of aircraft dropping materials to the rebels between September and October last year. Some of the ammunition had been made in China, it added. These weapons had a number of features identical to those we documented on other weapons that Sudan supplied to other previous groups fighting the Juba government before the current fighting broke out in 2013,” Claudio Gramizzi, who led the investigation, told The Associated Press. “I think we can surely confirm the fact that this equipment was airdropped. This comes not only from the reports of (South Sudanese) forces who worked with us but also from the fact that most of the equipment was deformed or bent due to the impact of the landing.” Sudan has been repeatedly accused by its southern neighbor of supporting rebels, charges it routinely denies, maintaining instead that it is South Sudan who is harboring rebels opposed to the government in Khartoum.

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword.
Headline: Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claims 2 attacks in Mali
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), al Qaeda’s official branch in North Africa, has claimed two recent attacks on UN forces in Mali. The two attacks occurred in the last week and targeted UN peacekeeping forces near the city of Timbuktu. The Mauritanian news agency Al Akhbar, which regularly reports statements from Saharan jihadists, reported that AQIM’s Sahara branch claimed the two attacks in a phone call to the agency. According to a translation by SITE Intelligence Group, the spokesman for AQIM said that the group “confirms its responsibility for the rocket attack on the base of international forces in northern Mali on 25 May.” The attack was reportedly on the UN’s base in the town of Ber, just east of Timbuktu. Al Akhbar said that the group fired more than a dozen rockets into the camp, but no causalities were reported. The second attack was an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on a UN convoy near Timbuktu. The Mauritanian news agency has reported that the commander of the international forces, Dane Michael Lollesgaard, and the head of the international police forces, Djiboutian Awale Abdounasir, were in the convoy. The two were unharmed, but three Burkinabe peacekeepers were wounded in the attack. The al Qaeda group claimed to have killed the three peacekeepers, but other reporting has stated they were left injured.

Headline: Nigeria deploys jet fighter after Boko Haram attacks northeast city again
Headline: Boko Haram multinational force ready soon: Niger president
Boko Haram early Tuesday attacked the northeastern city of Maiduguri, according to residents awakened by booming explosions, heavy gunfire and the screech of a jet fighter. “We are under siege,” Sumaila Ayuba told The Associated Press by telephone just after midnight from her home on the western flanks of the city. “The shooting is quite deafening. Please we need prayers.” President Muhammadu Buhari announced at his inauguration on Friday that he is moving the military headquarters of the war from Abuja, the capital in central Nigeria, to Maiduguri. The capital of Borno state is the birthplace of Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, and the biggest city in northeastern Nigeria. There was no immediate word of casualties in this latest attack. On Saturday, rocket-propelled grenades hit some homes in Maiduguri, killing at least 16 people. Another 17 people died later Saturday when a suicide bomber blew himself up among people prostrating themselves in prayer outside a mosque. On Sunday, a bomb at a market ripped off one man’s arm and wounded three other people.

Headline: American held in Yemen freed, French hostage pleads for help
Armed tribesmen killed 18 Houthi fighters in an ambush in Yemen’s central province of Ibb on Tuesday, residents said, in one of the deadliest ground attacks in over two months of war. The attack hit a convoy of militiamen and allied army troops in the town of Qaeda while they were en route to the city of Taiz, a flashpoint of clashes between Yemen’s dominant Houthis and armed backers of exiled president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Farther south in Dhalea province, around 15 Houthi fighters were killed in heavy clashes with pro-Hadi fighters on Monday night. Saudi-led air strikes hit Houthi positions along Yemen’s far northern border with the kingdom and struck military bases aligned with the group in the capital Sanaa on Tuesday. Neighboring Oman, a neutral power, is mediating talks between Houthi and American officials in the capital Muscat aimed at ending Yemen’s conflict. The dialogue also led Yemeni authorities to release to Oman on Monday a detained American freelance journalist.

Headline: Libya’s economy collapsing
Libya’s public finances, wracked by a dramatic loss in oil revenue that has been exacerbated by a power struggle between rival governments, are foundering, according to reports issued yesterday. The crisis has prompted the authorities in Tripoli, who control much of western Libya, to plan cuts to petrol subsidies, to delay public salary payments and to ban imports from cars to steel. And it has already been forcing the central bank – which is treading a fine line between rival governments and funds the whole country – to burn through its foreign reserves. Libya needs $30 billion to fund imports annually and typically spends $40 billion on its budget. “Libya is on the verge of economic and financial collapse,” UN Special Envoy Bernadino Leon, who has been trying to end a power struggle between the two governments, is insisting. Since last year, the central bank has frozen infrastructure projects, limited spending to basic public salaries and food and petrol subsidies. This has led civil servants, the biggest workforce in Libya, now to say they have not been paid for at least two months and accuse the central bank of not providing local lenders with liquidity to issue paychecks. “We don’t have a budget,” said Colonel Abu Breeda, deputy head of Libya’s police unit combatting illegal immigration. “I am the head of the department but what’s the point? Salaries? Nothing. There are delays everywhere.” The economy is essentially being hit on two sides. The dinar currency has lost 35 per cent of its value against the dollar since January alone. Oil production, meanwhile, has fallen to 400,000 barrels a day, or a quarter of what was the case before an uprising toppled Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.

South Korea on Tuesday reported the first two deaths from an outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) that has affected 25 people in two weeks. A 58-year-old woman who had had contact with South Korea’s first patient died of acute respiratory failure on Monday, the Health Ministry said. A 71-year-old man who had been on respiratory support with a history of kidney ailments also died. The ministry reported new confirmed cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 25. South Korea now has the third highest number of cases after Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. China reported its first MERS case in a South Korean man who tested positive after breaking a voluntary house quarantine last week, flying to Hong Kong and then travelling to mainland China. South Korean authorities were considering a ban on overseas travel for the nearly 700 people isolated for possible infection.

An epidemic of meningitis has killed 545 people in Niger, out of 8,234 people who caught the disease, but has now peaked, the World Health Organization said on Tuesday. The WHO had said that the epidemic was worrying and unprecedented because it was a strain not normally found in Africa and the appropriate vaccine was in short supply. In early May, cases were tripling every two weeks. But the number of new cases slowed in the second half of May amid a vaccination campaign in affected areas. The spread of the disease peaked in the week to May 10, when there were 2,189 cases and 132 deaths. In the last week of the month there were 264 cases and 8 deaths, WHO spokesman Cory Couillard said in an emailed response to Reuters.

Headline: NASA preps revolutionary ‘flying saucer’ test flight
NASA will conduct an ambitious test flight of its revolutionary ‘flying saucer‘ technology Tuesday as scientists lay the foundations for future Mars missions. The high altitude test at the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kauai, Hawaii, will use a huge balloon to carry the 15-foot wide, 7,000-pound test flying saucer to high altitude. The balloon, roughly the size of three football fields, will lift the flying saucer to 120,000 feet, at which point the vehicle will be released. A booster rocket will then transport the saucer at Mach 4, four times the speed of sound, to a height of 180,000 feet. After reaching a height of 180,000 feet, a doughnut-shaped airbag will inflate around the saucer for its descent to earth. “That airbag helps it slow down by adding more area and drag,” Steve Jurczyk, NASA space technology mission directorate associate administrator told FoxNews.com. “Then we deploy a supersonic parachute about 100 feet in diameter.” Slowed down by the airbag and parachute, the saucer is expected to splash down in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii about 2 hours and 15 minutes after launch.

Headline: Trendies Ready for Ultimate Wearable: “Chip Implanted in Their Skin Used for Payments”
As SHTF has previously noted, the likelihood of a forced RFID implant under the guise of a martial law pandemic emergency might be a little too obvious, as far as future tyranny goes. Before it comes to that, it seems plenty of people will be voluntarily subjecting themselves to cattle-like status, by jumping at the chance to ditch the inconvenience of a wallet and get a “smarter” payment system that can be embedded under their skin. Via the Business Insider: A mind-boggling 25% of Australians say they are at least “slightly interested” at the prospect of having a chip implanted in their skin that could be used for payments, new research has found. The research by credit card company Visa and the University of Technology Sydney found Australians are open to the prospect of paying for items using wearable tech including smart watches, rings, glasses and even a connected car. “New technology like tokenisation makes it possible to turn any device into a secure vehicle for commerce. We’re already seeing smartphone payments take off in Australia. Things are about to get creepier. The significance of the “mind-boggling 25% of Australians” is that the number is growing into a sizable portion of the population. They are ready to accept it. If that continues, polls might soon show that 60% and 80% of the population are interested in these devices, and that a 25% or 33% of them are already using them. Whereas firms like VeriChip met fierce resistance in introducing implantable RFID chips in the wake of 9/11, the furious trend to buy smart technology is making biometrics and data tracking seem passive and benign – even in the face of Edward Snowden’s revelations about mass surveillance through a partnership between the government and private industry. To make matters more conspiratorial, this poll linking the popularity of wearables, implants and digital payments coincides with numerous calls in the financial sector toban cash and force people to use electronic currency in order to make the enforcement of certain economic policies easier (and to enrich banks with deposit fees, transaction fees and fines, of course).

Headline: Dunedin New Zealand jolted by strongest quake in 41 years
The 4.7-magnitude earthquake that rocked parts of Otago last night was believed to be the strongest experienced in the region since 1974. It struck at 11.17pm at a depth of 7km, centred 2km northeast of Lee Stream, some 30km west of Dunedin. The quake was felt in various parts of Otago, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage. Adrian Bardrick, publican at the Clarks Junction Hotel, on State Highway 87, only about 12km from the epicentre, said they received a pretty good “sort of thump”. It rattled the bottles, he said. “But there was no damage.” The hotel was cleaning up after a good evening. “The Strath Taieri boys had beaten the West Taieri boys” in rugby and had called in on their way home. They had left by the time of the quake. The largest quake significantly affecting Dunedin in the past several decades was on April 9, 1974. It was magnitude 5 and dislodged grocery stock and damaged some chimneys.

Headline: Arab Rioters Unveil New Weapon to Fight Security Forces
Security forces tasked with dispersing Palestinian Arab riots are used to being attacked with rocks and firebombs, but on Friday they were surprised by a new weapon used by the rioters. Palestinian Arabs on Friday afternoon began violently rioting in the village of Silwad, not far from Ofra, in the Binyamin area. Border Policemen and IDF soldiers from the Netzach Yehuda Battalion who began to move toward a concrete shelter meant to protect the fighters as they disperse riots, were surprised to discover right above their heads a viper snake which had been placed there by the rioters in an attempt to harm the security forces. Company Commander Aaron Moyal commented following the incident, “We have witnessed various attempts to harm security forces, but in this case as well the forces’ vigilance prevented harm.”

Headline: Blast outside mosque in Saudi Arabia, fatalities reported
Four people were killed in eastern Saudi Arabia after a suicide bomber tried to enter a Shiite mosque during Friday prayers. Islamic State has reportedly claimed responsibility. It is the second attack of its kind in a week. A car exploded outside the Imam Hussein Shiite mosque in the Al Anoud district of the city of Dammam. However, security officials, cited by local media, say the attackers failed to enter the building itself. A car parked near the mosque triggered security forces’ suspicions, but as they tried to approach it, the vehicle exploded, killing four people and setting nearby cars on fire. One witness, identified only as Ahmed, told Reuters he was told by acquaintances at the mosque that a man was killed when he tried to prevent the bomber from entering the building. The terrorist organization Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS, ISIL) has claimed responsibility for the attack in a Twitter post, Reuters reports. On Friday evening, the US military said it doesn’t regard the Islamic State group as a “significant threat” for Saudi Arabia, also failing to confirm the attribution of the blast, according to Reuters.

An Islamist coalition that includes Syria’s al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front has taken over one of the last government strongholds in western Idlib province, activists say. The Jaish al-Fateh, or Conquest Army, took control of the city of Ariha after a “lightning offensive”, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. However, the Syrian army said intense fighting was still going on there. Ariha’s fall would leave most of Idlib, bordering Turkey, in rebel hands. Since late March, rebels have claimed a number of cities in the province, including Idlib and Jisr al-Shughour. As well as bordering Turkey, Idlib is also next to Latakia province, a government stronghold and President Bashar al-Assad’s heartland. Meanwhile, the head of the al-Nusra Front said the group had been ordered by al-Qaeda’s overall leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, not to use Syria to launch attacks on the West. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Abu Mohammed al-Julani said al-Nusra Front was focused on capturing Damascus and toppling President Assad. He also promised to protect Syrian minorities that disavowed Mr Assad.

Iraq Headline: ISIS Claims Blasts at Upscale Baghdad Hotels
The death toll from bombings that targeted two prominent hotels in Baghdad a day earlier rose to 15 people, with another 42 wounded, Iraqi authorities said on Friday, as a lawmaker warned that the capital is vulnerable to more attacks. The double bombing occurred late Thursday when two separate car bombs went off in the parking lots of the Cristal, formerly Sheraton, and Babil hotels. Initial reports said 10 people were killed and 27 wounded, but the casualty figures rose overnight. The two explosions shattered windows of the recently renovated hotels and destroyed several cars. Baghdad’s top hotels are usually crowded on Thursday nights with people attending wedding celebrations or parties. The twin attacks targeting heavily secured buildings in the heart of Baghdad demonstrate the boldness and freedom with which militants have been able to operate inside the capital. The two car bombs were detonated by remote control, police said.

Two people were killed in southeast Turkey in a fight between supporters of rival Kurdish parties a week before a parliamentary election, security sources and party officials said. Supporters of Kurdish Islamist party, Huda-Par, and pro-Kurdish leftist Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) clashed in a village in Sirnak province near Turkey’s border with Syria. Two Huda-Par party members were shot dead, party officials told Reuters. A crowd that gathered in front of the hospital chanted slogans and vowed revenge. The HDP is accused by opponents of links to the militant Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has fought a 30-year insurgency against the state in which 40,000 people have been killed. Huda-Par draws support from sympathisers with Turkey’s Hezbollah militant group, which fought the PKK in the 1990s.

President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu are both scheduled to attend the event in Istanbul’s Yenikapı Square a week before the June 7 general election.

Headline: Erdogan And The Prime Minister Of The Turkey, Just Made This Declaration To The Entire Islamic World: ‘We Will Gather Together Kurds And Arabs, And All Of The Muslim World, And Invade Jerusalem, And Create A One World Islamic Empire’
The Turkish Anadolu Agencyreported today that Erdogan’s henchman, Turkey’s Prime Minister, has made a promise today to his people that if they elect him next month that he promises to soon liberate Jerusalem. Ahmet Davutoglu was using words that are major hints for all students of Bible Prophecy: “Al-Aqsa Mosque [The Temple Mount] is ours forever, and as Allah is my witness and history will testify, it will remain ours forever”. After vowing to retake Jerusalem if elected, Davutoglu stressed that his country “cannot be an ally or friend of those who desecrated the Al-Aqsa Mosque with their boots” referring to Israelis who had to thwart demonstrations. By this Davutoglu is accusing Israel of desecrating the Temple Mount since it is an abomination in Islam for anyone to enter holy ground unless they are barefooted.

Headline: UN nuke agency report shows Iran probe essentially stalled
Amid accelerated international efforts to reach a nuclear deal with Iran, the U.N. atomic agency on Friday reported that work on a key element — an assessment of allegations that Tehran worked on atomic arms — remains essentially stalled. The report from the International Atomic Energy Agency also reiterated that more cooperation is needed by Iran for full clarity on its present activities. Without it, the IAEA said it cannot “conclude that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities.” After years of deadlock, Iran and the IAEA agreed in November 2013 on a new attempt to probe the accusations. The U.S. and its allies also included the investigation into a to-do list for talks with Iran meant to curb its nuclear programs in exchange for sanctions relief. Washington continues to insist that full lifting of sanctions depends on the IAEA’s ability to thoroughly probe the accusations and deliver an assessment on its findings. Iran denies any work on — or interest — in nuclear arms. It accuses Israel, the United States and other adversaries of providing phony evidence to the agency for the probe. The IAEA is focused on 12 alleged activities that point to Iranian attempts to make such weapons, including suspicions that Tehran worked on the development on a nuclear payload for missiles. The IAEA relaunched its probe two years ago by asking for information on less sensitive work related to nuclear arms allegedly carried out by Iran, with hopes of moving to larger issues later. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Geneva on Saturday in an effort to move the nuclear talks forward ahead of a June 30 target date for a deal. The confidential report issued Friday by the IAEA increased doubts that the agency could issue substantive findings on the allegations by that time. In Washington, State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said the allegations are “one of the issues that we’re working to resolve in the nuclear negotiations.” He urged Iran to “cooperate fully and without delay with the IAEA to resolve all the outstanding issues, in particular those that give rise to concerns about possible military dimensions of Iran’s nuclear program.”

Headline: ISIS seizes control of airport in Libya’s Sirte
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has seized control of the airport in the city of Sirte after forces of a Tripoli-based Libyan government withdrew, a spokesman said Friday. Mohamed al-Shami, whose government is not recognised by the international community, said its forces pulled out late Thursday from the airport which had “fallen into the hands of the ISIS organisation.”ISIS itself said it captured the airport, which is also a military base, in a message posted on Twitter. It was the first time that ISIS in Libya has recorded such a military gain.“After they left, Islamic State group fighters entered the base which had been completely emptied of equipment, except for one military plane which is out of use,” said Shami.Gardabiya is located 20 kilometres south of Sirte, hometown of late dictator Muammer Qaddafi who was ousted and killed in Libya’s 2011 uprising.ISIS itself said it took full control of the airport following clashes with forces loyal to the Tripoli government, in a message posted on Twitter.Sirte has been the scene of several months of sporadic fighting between IS and the Fajr Libya (Libya Dawn) militia alliance tasked by the Tripoli government to secure the city.

Headline: Boko Haram clash kills 4 Chad soldiers, 33 Islamists: army
At least seven people died and 12 were injured when twin bomb blasts by suspected Boko Haram militants struck a wedding party in northeast Nigeria’s Borno state on Friday, locals said. The explosions, two minutes apart, hit the remote town of Tashan Alade at about 6 a.m. local time — hours before new president Muhammadu Buhari vowed in his inauguration speech that the “mindless, godless” militants would be defeated. Thousands have been killed and millions displaced during the Islamist group’s six-year insurgency. At the start of the year it controlled a swathe of territory the size of Belgium in the northeast of Africa’s biggest economy and top oil producer. “Seven people have been killed,” an unnamed police source told Reuters. “Relations and friends of the groom and bridegroom were just gathering when the bomb explosions happened,” said Adamu Illiya, a member of an anti-Boko Haram vigilante group, who added that 12 were injured.

Headline: Explosions rock Burundi capital as deadly protests continue
Two explosions shook Burundi’s capital on Friday but no one was hurt, police and a witness said, as deadly unrest against President Pierre Nkurunziza’s bid for a third term in office rumbled on. Pictures circulated on social media showed three charred vehicles in front of a KCB bank branch in downtown Bujumbura, until Friday an area largely free from the demonstrations that erupted on April 26. “We don’t know the cause of the explosion yet,” said a police officer who had visited the scene of the first blast. There were no casualties reported. In late afternoon, a second explosion rocked the same area, close to the post office, a witness said, adding there were no casualties. But a demonstrator was killed in Buterere suburb, where police clashed with protesters who say Nkurunziza’s bid to contest the June 26 presidential poll violates the constitution. A Reuters photographer in the area saw police fire at demonstrators who were hurling rocks at them. In the flashpoint suburb of Cibitoke, police shot at rock-throwing protesters and then used a bulldozer to clear street barricades. The demonstrations, which began a day after Nkurunziza announced plans for a third term, have kindled the biggest political crisis in Burundi since an ethnically-charged civil war ended in 2005.

Heavy fighting erupted in southern Yemen near Aden airport on Friday when a Sunni Muslim militia attacked Shi’ite Houthi rebels in a push to drive Houthis from the district, residents and fighters said. Saudi-led forces also made four air strikes on a military base near the airport, a source in the southern militia told Reuters. The fighting in Khor Maksar has killed four southern militia fighters and 15 Houthis so far, the militia source said. Intense air raids by the Arab alliance were also reported overnight by residents of Saada province, which borders Saudi Arabia in northwestern Yemen. Raids also targeted a weapons storage site in Sanaa, said residents. On Monday, Houthi fighters suffered their first significant setback in the south in two months of civil war when local Sunni militia ejected them from much of the southern city of Dalea, about 170 km (105 miles) north of Aden. The Sunni militias, who call themselves the Southern Resistance, are a loosely allied group of fighters who took up arms against the Houthis.

Headline: US surveillance shows Chinese artillery on artificial islands, officials say
U.S. surveillance images show China has positioned weaponry on at least one of the artificial islands it is developing in the South China Sea, officials say, apparently confirming suspicions that Beijing has been building up the area for military use. A U.S. official confirmed to Fox News on Friday that China has put artillery pieces on its man-made islands. The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, first reported that images taken about a month ago showed two Chinese motorized artillery pieces on one of the artificial reefs. Although the weaponry would not pose a threat to U.S. planes or ships, it could potentially reach neighboring islands, the officials told the paper. There is no military threat,” one official told the Journal. “But it is about symbolism.” The Journal reported that in recent weeks the artillery has disappeared from view, though it was not clear how of why. U.S. officials said they believed the equipment had either been removed or purposely obscured by the Chinese. The American officials said that the artillery, is within striking range of an island claimed by Vietnam, which that country’s government has armed with various weaponry for some time.

Headline: North Korea Upgrades Main Rocket Launch Site
Headline: Iran, N. Korea ‘collaborate’ on nuclear arms: Iranian opposition
The nuclear-armed rogue dictator state of North Korea has significantly upgraded its main rocket launch site, according to new satellite imagery revealed by a US research institute in a report on Friday. The US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies showed how the Sohae launch site on North Korea’s western coast was expanded late last year so that it can launch larger rockets – and potentially intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Commercial satellite imagery since then reveals the regime has been working to add a support building and apparently a movable platform, which would enable a rocket to be transferred on rails to the launch pad. “The Sohae facility upgrade program represents a significant investment of financial, material and personnel resources and is another indicator, along with its public statements, that North Korea is determined to pursue its space program,” read the analysis of the institute received by the Associated Press. UN Security Council resolutions ban North Korea from launching rockets, given that the same “peaceful” space program technology is used to fire cataclysmic ballistic missiles.

Headline: California’s largest lake is slipping away amid an epic drought
The Salton Sea is the largest lake in California, 360 square miles of unlikely liquid pooled in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. Now the sea is slipping away. The Salton Sea needs more water — but so does just about every other place in California. And what is happening here perfectly illustrates the fight over water in the West, where epic drought has revived decades-old battles and the simple solutions have all been tried. Allowing the Salton Sea to shrink unabated would be catastrophic, experts say. Dried lake bed, called playa, is lighter and flies farther than ordinary soil. Choking clouds of particulate matter driven by powerful desert winds could seed health problems for 650,000 people as far away as Los Angeles. The effects would be even worse along the lake, where communities already fail federal air-quality standards and suffer the highest asthma rates in the state. But the fate of the Salton Sea depends on a complicated series of deals that pit farms against cities, water rights against water needs, old ways of life against the new. The drought has forced a reconsideration of these agreements, with each side jealously guarding its claim to what little water is left.

Headline: Volcano erupts on southern Japanese island
A volcano erupted on a small island in southern Japan on Friday, spewing black clouds of ash and rock towering into the sky and prompting authorities to tell residents to evacuate the island. No injuries were reported after Mount Shindake erupted about 10 a.m. (0100 GMT) in spectacular fashion, sending dense pyroclastic flows of rock and hot gases seaward, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported. The agency raised the volcano alert level for Kuchinoerabu island, where Shindake is located, to five, the highest on its scale. Shindake also erupted in August last year for the first time since 1980.

Today I listened to a interview done on the Allen Colmes show between Billy Graham’s daughter evangelist Sister Anne Graham Lotz and Allen Colmes. The interview was about Anne Graham saying “‘We’re coming close to end of human history”. Mr. Colmes asked her many questions about her beliefs and why it is she thinks we are at the end of human history. My heart was filled with gladness hearing her preach what is truth to Mr. Colmes. If you are not a believer and you listened to the reasons why Anne Graham says we have reached the end as we know it, let me say this, there are a lot more to the end times signs that she did not give which show us we are at the end. Watch the video first and then I will give you other important signs we are going to see Jesus return for all those who have put their trust in Him soon. I am glad Anne did not give a date as no respectable Pastor or follower of Christ would come out and say on what day and hour Jesus will come from His Children. We don’t need a date to know our time on Earth is drawing to a swift close. You will see why I said this when you see some of the other end time signs Anne Graham did not give in that interview.
I want to give you all those specific end time signs to show you Jesus is not kidding around when He tells us to get ready to meet Him in the air! I was going to make a video giving you all these signs Anne left out but that video would take hours to make. Instead I want to ask all those who don’t know the signs to please download my prophecy book for free at the link below in red and read it. You are going to be blown away by all the information our Lord has given us concerning the end time signs. I repeat, the signs you will be reading about in my book are very specific not just general signs. May Jesus’ Holy Spirit be with you as you read this information. If you have any questions feel free to email me at fjdimora@gmail.com.The Last Chronicles of Planet Earth May 27, 2015 Edition written by Frank DiMora.
One of the signs Anne did not state was the prophecy about the birds, fish, and animals dying off in mass numbers.
Signs of Revelation 6:6 points to people having to work all day for a very small amount of food. In the case of Rev. 6:6 we see wheat and barley being mentioned. In the above Allen Clomes interview with Anne she did not say anything about how fast the food prices are going up each year. One of the most important things that keep this world population eating is what the bees do. However, the bees are dying off in mass numbers just as the birds, fish, and animals are and it is no coincidence. Below you will see the three latest reports on the bees dying.

I have to confess this is one time I agree with news coming from the Middle East. I found myself laughing at the report below about Obama but the fact is it’s true what they say in the video. In the book of Daniel God shows Daniel the world empires from Iran’s kingdom all the way to the revived Roman Empire. When you read Daniel you have to take note that there is no mention of the United States. Now we know why. Since Obama has taken office he has weakened the U.S. like no other President and, is still tearing America apart piece by piece. He has cut the military, fired most of the top brass in the military, and he has turned America’s back on Israel while cowing up to Iran who is still calling for the destruction of Israel and America. Now I ask you why Daniel didn’t write anything about the nation who is suppose to be the mightiest nation in the world the good old USA? The answer appears to be the because our leader has done so much damage that America is weakened to the point she won’t be much influence on the world stage in the last days. You think it bad now? Stay tuned with Obama at the helm you haven’t seen anything yet!
Headline: IAF Strikes Terrorist Infrastructures in Gaza
IAF aircraft on Wednesday morning struck four terrorist infrastructures in southern Gaza the IDF Spokesperson said. Direct hits at the targets were identified, said the statement. The airstrike came in response to the rocket attack on southern Israel on Tuesday evening. “The IDF views the incident gravely, the Hamas terrorist organization is responsible” for any attacks on southern Israel, the statement added. Air raid sirens sounded in towns across southern Israel Tuesday evening at 9:02 p.m, as the IDF confirmed that at least one Grad rocket fired from Gaza struck near the community of Gan Yavneh, near Ashdod. Some residents of the south reported seeing Iron Dome missile defense batteries deploying to intercept at least one incoming rocket. Sirens were heard in Ashdod, Ashkelon and in numerous towns and villages in the Lachish and Hof Ashkelon regions close to Gaza. No injuries were reported. Following the attack there were reports that Hamas was evacuating its headquarters in Gaza in fear of an IDF airstrike response.

Headline: IDF Drill Prepares for Terror Surge in Judea and Samaria
The same day that Gaza terrorists fired rockets at Israel, with a Grad rocket striking near Ashdod, a wide-reaching logistical drill was held on Tuesday by the IDF’s Central Command to prepare for multiple security incidents occurring simultaneously. Lt. Col. Oren Asado, head of the Central Command’s logistic branch, spoke about the importance of the drill which was held by the Judea and Samaria division. “If in the large drill held by the IDF around two months ago the focus of the training was on mobilizing the forces and on an operational response, in the drill held yesterday, the entire logistical branch of the command was tested,” said Asdo. He explained that the drill involved “the mobility of thousands of fighters on roads which likely will be the focus of riots and breaches of public order.” Describing the challenge, he noted it involved “controlling hostile village spaces while providing a logistical response to transferring equipment, food, and water both to the population and to the fighters, all while under riots, gunfire, firebombs and more.” Both reserve forces, which are meant to provide the best and most immediate response to mass breaches of public order, as well as soldiers in mandatory and professional service took part in the drill.

Headline: Amnesty report: Hamas committed war crimes against Gaza civilians
Amnesty International said in a report on Wednesday that Gaza’s dominant Islamist Hamas committed war crimes against Palestinian civilians in the territory alleged to have collaborated with the enemy during last year’s war with Israel.A ceasefire last August ended 50 days of fighting between Gaza militants and Israel in which health officials said more than 2,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, were killed. Israel put the number of its dead at 67 soldiers and six civilians.“Hamas forces carried out a brutal campaign of abductions, torture and unlawful killings against Palestinians accused of ‘collaborating’ with Israel and others during Israel’s military offensive against Gaza,” London-based Amnesty’s report said. A statement by Hamas denied involvement in the actions described by Amnesty, saying that rival Gaza families had taken part in “revenge attacks”.Earlier, a Hamas spokesman criticised the report as being unfair, unprofessional and not credible.

For the first time, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called for peace negotiations over Jewish settlements in the West Bank. His focus would be on identifying which of the settlements in the Palestinian-occupied West Bank could be kept and expanded, an Israeli official said Tuesday. The settlements for Jewish residents are regarded as violations of international law by many countries. Since his re-election earlier this year Netanyahu has faced criticism from the United States and the European Union for his reluctance to renew peace talks with the Palestinians, as well as criticism for continuing to build settlements on disputed land. Arranging an understanding on the issue of settlements could maintain the pace of construction without angering Western allies or hard-liners within Netanyahu’s government. The Israeli official said Netanyahu, speaking Wednesday with EU foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini in Jerusalem, offered to keep some West Bank territory captured in a 1967 war, and leave other parts under Palestinian control. A Western diplomat commented, “Up until now, Netanyahu has refused to put any maps on the table, so in that respect it (the offer to Mogherini) was quite substantial. He was talking about borders in one way or another, even if it was based around the acceptance of existing settlement blocs.”

Headline: March for free Quds
Activists have organised a flotilla to Gaza in an ongoing bid to break the siege on the Strip, which will enter its ninth year next month. The Freedom Flotilla III, which will be made up of at least three ships, has planned its course to be in the Mediterranean waters in the second half of June. The Ship to Gaza organisation in Europe has teamed up with the international Freedom Flotilla and is calling for an immediate end to the naval blockade of Gaza, the opening of the Gaza Port, and for a secure passage for Palestinians between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. This is the third time a flotilla will embark on a journey to break the siege of Gaza. Around 50 people from 20 different countries will be on board the Freedom Flotilla. Meanwhile, “March For Free Quds” is going to happen in order to commemorate the 5th year of Israel’s attack on Mavi Marmara flagship of Gaza Freedom Flotilla. IHH is going to organize “March for Free Quds” on 31st May 2015 at 17.00 that will start from Fatih Mosque toward Edirnekapı Martyr’s Cemetery where those killed in Mavi Marmara are buried. Gaza Freedom Flotilla organizers and participants will voice out their message to the world in the march for free Quds where the families and loved ones, representatives from national and international NGOs as well as human rights groups, community leaders, artists, journalists, local and foreign activists, Palestinian orphans and their families as well as the friends of Palestine will be in attendance.

Headline: Hezbollah strike Qalamoun jihadis with help of drone
A Hezbollah missile annihilated a group of at least three Islamist militants in Syria’s Qalamoun region along the border with Lebanon Wednesday after being spotted by a drone, Al-Manar reported. “All members of a group of Nusra takfiri [militants] were killed in an ambush by the resistance” between the outskirts of the Lebanese towns of Arsal and Nahleh on the Syrian side of the border, the Hezbollah-run channel said. It said the jihadi group was planning to carry out a “terrorist attack” from quarries south of Arsal. But the station later aired drone footage showing missiles striking a militant vehicle and operations room with pinpoint accuracy. The HiDef video showed three militants exiting a white SUV and running toward a nearby operations room. The video then cuts to show a missile striking the operations room with one militant standing just outside, and the other two believed to be inside. The blast obliterated the structure, sending its roof launching into the air. It was unclear if other militants were already in the room when it was bombed. The video also showed the group targeting a black military vehicle. The report did not say if anyone was inside the vehicle when it was targeted. After the operation, Hezbollah fighter engaged in “fierce clashes” with the jihadis and killed “all of them,” Al-Manar said, showing footage of the battle. The channel said the group belonged to Nusra’s Ghuraba Brigade, adding that a field commander was among those killed. The report comes one day after a security source revealed that six Hezbollah fighters were killed in Qalamoun as they attempted to take the Tallaja hilltop from Nusra militants earlier this week. The source said they were killed in sniper fire Monday.

Headline: Bomb blast kills senior police officer in Egypt’s Sinai, home to an Islamic State affiliate
Egypt’s Interior Ministry says a roadside bomb has killed a senior police officer in the northwestern region of the Sinai Peninsula, home of the country’s Islamic State affiliate. In a statement Wednesday, the ministry says Brig. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim, who was deputy head of criminal investigations in Egypt’s North Sinai province, was killed on his way back from a joint police and army raid in el-Arish, the provincial capital. The ministry added that a second officer was wounded, without elaborating. The long-restive northwestern region of Sinai has seen a spike in attacks targeting security forces since the military overthrow of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi in 2013. A local Islamic militant group has pledged its allegiance to the Islamic State group’s leader, turning it into an affiliate of the group.

Syria Headline: Islamic State shoots dead 20 in Palmyra amphitheatre: monitor
Syrian regime strikes against ISIS in and around the ancient city of Palmyra have failed to halt their advance towards Damascus, a monitor said on Sunday. The intense strikes came after the fall of Palmyra, named Tadmor in Arabic, to the militants last week. But so far, the strikes had failed to halt the militants, who advanced towards the capital Damascus and overran major phosphate mines about 70 kilometers south of Palmyra. “ISIS has made further progress on the Tadmor-Damascus highway and grabbed the Khnaifess phosphate mines and nearby houses,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of sources on the group for its reports.

Syria Headline: The Regime’s Military Capabilities
On May 24, the regime-appointed governor of Homs Province Talal Barazi claimed that regime forces are preparing for a counteroffensive targeting the strategic city of Palmyra after its fall to ISIS on May 20. However, clear indications of a military mobilization have yet to materialize and it remains unclear whether the Assad regime possesses sufficient combat reserves to significantly reverse ISIS’s recent gains. Regime forces are spread thin throughout the country, forcing Assad to rely upon a small number of trusted elite units and deployable paramilitary fighters – the same composition of forces allegedly participating in the operation to retake Palmyra – to react to emergent threats. The Assad regime suffers from several limitations which have had a severe impact upon its military strategy. Regime forces operated under shortages of quality manpower due to desertion, defection, and combat attrition. Consequently, the Assad regime relied upon a constellation of regular and irregular forces throughout 2014 in order to prosecute its offensive campaign and defend its core interests against the Syrian opposition and other threats, including ISIS.

Syria Headline: Assad pulls air force out of Deir ez-Zour, the third Syrian air base surrendered to ISIS
Just a week after losing the big Palmyra air base to the Islamic State – and with it large stocks of ammo and military equipment – Syrian military and air units Wednesday, May 27, began pulling out of the big air base at Deir ez-Zour. This was Bashar Assad’s last military stronghold in eastern Syria and the last air facility for enabling fighter-bombers to strike ISIS forces in northeastern Syria and the western Iraqi province of Anbar. His surrender of the Deir ez-Zour base is evidence that the Syrian president has run out of fighting strength for defending both his front lines and his air bases. He is also too tied down to be able to transfer reinforcements from front to front. He is therefore pulling in the remnants of his army from across the country for the defense of the capital, Damascus. debkafile’s military sources report that the Islamic State now has in its sights the Syrian army’s biggest air facility, T4 Airbase, which is located on the fast highway linking Homs with Damascus 140 km away. It is home base for the bulk of the air force’s fighters and bombers. In its hangars are an estimated 32 MiG-25 fighters, as well as smaller numbers of MiG-25PDS interceptors, designed for combat with the Israeli air force, MiG-25RBT bombers-cum-surveillance planes; MiG-25PU trainers, which are routinely used to strike rebel forces in crowded built-up areas, and advanced MiG-29SM fighter jets. Stationed there too are 20 advanced Su-24M2 bombers, the strategic backbone of the Syrian air force. T4 Airbase also holds the largest Syrian stocks of guided bombs, air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles. In the last few hours, air crews have been frantically removing these warplanes from T4 and distributing them among smaller bases in central Syria, at the cost of their operational effectiveness.

Iraq Headline: Fighting, airstrikes reported near Ramadi as Iraq launches operation to retake city
A major military operation in Iraq to retake the Islamic State-held city of Ramadi was under way Tuesday, as fighting and airstrikes were reported west and south of the city. “Shaping” operations ahead of the counteroffensive began Tuesday, in the form of air strikes, artillery and rocket barrages to rush ISIS out of Ramadi, the Pentagon confirmed. Pentagon Spokesman Col. Steve Warren said they welcomed the news of the counteroffensive. A spokesman for Iraq’s Shiite militias said Tuesday the operation would “not last for a long time” and that Iraqi forces have surrounded Ramadi from three sides, according to The Associated Press. The Pentagon could not confirm reports that Iraqi security forces had surrounded Ramadi. Warren said Iraqi security forces and Shia militias have staged 20 miles east of Ramadi in the town of Habbaniyah.

Iraq Headline: Islamic State launches wave of suicide attacks on Iraqi troops
Islamic State jihadists have unleashed a wave of suicide attacks targeting pro-government troops in western Anbar, a day after Baghdad launched a new offensive to drive them from the province. Up to 17 soldiers were killed in the explosions that took place outside of Fallujah, a town controlled by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant inside the Sunni heartland Anbar. Brigadier General Saad Maan Ibrahim, the spokesman for the Joint Military Command said on Wednesday that the militants had struck near a water control station and a lock system on a canal between Lake Tharthar and the Euphrates River. The troops had been deployed there as part of a new push to try to take Anbar, after the Iraqi army suffered its biggest military defeat there this year in the loss of Ramadi city earlier this month. Brig Gen Ibrahim added that the Islamic State extremists used a sandstorm that engulfed most of Iraq on Tuesday night to launch the deadly wave of bombings. He said it was not clear how many suicide attackers were involved in the bombings but they hit the military from multiple directions. The attacks took place just hours after the ministry of defence announced the new mission.

Headline: ISIS Shows Off A New Potential Source Of Funding
ISIS is touting its newfound control of giant phosphate mines in Syria as the latest multi-million dollar funding source for its activities around the world. The Khnaifess mines, which sit along the main highway between Damascus and Palymra, the ancient city overrun by ISIS last week, are the second largest phosphate mines in the country. Syria has some of the largest reserves in the world, in normal times they produced around $60 million in revenue a year. The Damascus propaganda branch of the Islamic State has published a series of photos of the phosphate mines as the latest example of its growing power. It is unclear if ISIS has the required logistics and expertise to operate the mines, let alone export the phosphate, given that a significant percentage of Syria’s phosphates is bought by the EU. Syria is among the world’s largest exporters of the rock, but the war has marred its ability to mine and market its supply. ISIS has sold oil and antiquities on the black market and relies on those sales, along with protection money and local taxes to fund its system. ISIS has in the past advertized for engineers to come work on the refineries it has captured, in some cases offering salaries starting at $200,000.

Headline: Turks Believe Israel is Biggest Threat to their Country, Followed by US
A recent survey conducted in Turkey revealed that Turks believe Israel and the U.S. pose the biggest threats to their country, Turkish publication Today’s Zaman reported on Wednesday. İstanbul’s Kadir Has University polled 1,000 people in April across Turkish cities. When asked which country they see as the biggest threat to Turkey, 42.6 percent of respondents said Israel while 35.3 percent said the U.S. The same countries received 37.1 and 41.7 disapproval rates, respectively, during the same survey in 2013. Following Israel and the U.S. was Syria with 22.1 percent and Armenia with 20.3 percent. Although Turkey is a candidate for membership to the European Union, 10.2 percent of respondents said EU countries are a threat to Turkey, Today’s Zaman reported. which was slightly less than 12.8 percent in 2013. When respondents were asked whether they want Turkey to become an EU member, 42.4 percent said yes and over 20 percent were undecided, a decline from the 47.5 percent who supported EU membership in the 2013.

Headline: France warns Iran over nuclear deal as deadline nears
France warned on Wednesday it was ready to block a final deal between Iran and the six major powers on Iran’s nuclear program unless Tehran provided inspectors access to all installations, including military sites. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, last week ruled out international inspection of Iran’s military sites or access to nuclear scientists under any agreement. Iran’s military leaders echoed his remarks. “France will not accept (a deal) if it is not clear that inspections can be done at all Iranian installations, including military sites,” French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius told lawmakers in Paris. As talks resumed in Vienna on Wednesday to bridge gaps in negotiating positions before a June 30 deadline, the United States said it was not considering an extension, despite comments from France and Iran indicating wiggle room. “We’re not contemplating any extension beyond June 30,” State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke told reporters in Washington, saying the United States believed it was possible to meet the self-imposed deadline.

Headline: Afghan Taliban gunmen killed after attack on Kabul guesthouse
Four Taliban insurgents armed with assault rifles and a grenade launcher stormed a guesthouse in the diplomatic quarter of the Afghan capital overnight and held out for hours until they were killed by government forces early on Wednesday, officials said. No casualties other than the attackers were reported, Afghanistan’s deputy interior minister General Ayoub Salangi said. Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said the guesthouse was owned by a prominent Afghan political family that includes Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani. The Afghan Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack after it ended and said numerous “invaders” had been killed, although it often makes exaggerated claims about casualties in attacks against Afghan government and foreign targets.

Headline: IS Division in Libya Publishes Photo Report on Training Camp in Benghazi
Gunmen tried to assassinate Libya’s internationally recognized prime minister on his way to the airport in the eastern city of Tobruk on Tuesday, a spokesman for his government said. Arish Said, head of the government’s media department, said that Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni’s motorcade was attacked and one of his guards was lightly wounded but that there were no fatalities. “They managed to escape,” Said said. Prior to the attack, he said armed men who had been protesting outside a session of the Tobruk government’s House of Representatives tried to storm the building, firing shots into the air and demanding al-Thinni be removed from office. They were “threatening to kill the prime minister and force the House to sack him,” Said said. He identified the men as being funded by “corrupted political financiers” linked to powerful Tobruk tribal leaders, without elaborating.

Headline: Al Shabaab militants injure 5 Kenyan police officers in attack
Al Shabaab gunmen attacked Kenyan police vehicles near Somalia’s border, injuring at least five officers and burning five cars, police said on Tuesday. Two officers were critically injured and three others sustained minor injuries in the attack in Garissa County, national Police Chief J.K. Boinnet said in a statement. Garissa police commander Shadrack Maithya said at least 13 police officers who went missing during the attack have been accounted for. Two of the attackers were killed, he said. The interior ministry said no police officials were killed, dismissing earlier accounts by two officials that several missing colleagues were believed to have been killed. Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper reported that at least 20 police officers were feared dead. Police later said that in the confusion of the attacks that the worst was feared. The injured officers were part of team of more than 20 officers traveling in three pick-up trucks to recover a firearm lost by one officer whose car had hit a land mine. Boinnet said there was a heavy exchange of gunfire with the Islamic militants. Al Shabaab, a Somali extremist group with links to Al Qaeda, said on its radio station that it carried out the attack.

Headline: Russia masses heavy firepower on border with Ukraine – witness
Headline: Ukraine Crisis Update: Institute for the Study of War
Russia’s army is massing troops and hundreds of pieces of weaponry including mobile rocket launchers, tanks and artillery at a makeshift base near the border with Ukraine, a Reuters reporter saw this week. Many of the vehicles have number plates and identifying marks removed while many of the servicemen had taken insignia off their fatigues. As such, they match the appearance of some of the forces spotted in eastern Ukraine, which Kiev and its Western allies allege are covert Russian detachments. The scene at the base on the Kuzminsky firing range, around 50 km (30 miles) from the border, offers some of the clearest evidence to date of what appeared to be a concerted Russian military build-up in the area. Earlier this month, NATO military commander General Philip Breedlove said he believed the separatists were taking advantage of a ceasefire that came into force in February to re-arm and prepare for a new offensive. However, he gave no specifics. Russia denies that its military is involved in the conflict in Ukraine’s east, where Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting forces loyal to the pro-Western government in Kiev.

Headline: Report: Iran Summons Saudi Envoy Over Yemen Strike
Headline: The ISIS Regional Strategy for Yemen and Saudi Arabia
Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency says the Foreign Ministry has summoned Saudi Arabia’s envoy over an airstrike near Tehran’s embassy in Yemen. It says Iran warned the Saudi charge d’affaires late Monday against any violations of the diplomatic immunity of embassy staff and facilities. Meanwhile, The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham conducted two major bombings on Shia mosques in the Arabian Peninsula today through its affiliates in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. ISIS Claimed responsibility for an IED explosion that injured at least 13 Shia worshippers during Friday prayers in the al Sayyah Mosque in Sana’a, Yemen. ISIS also claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing on the Shia Imam Ali mosque in al-Qadeeh in the Shi’a Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This latter attack killed at least 20 individuals and wounding dozens more. In statements circulated by ISIS’s supporters on Twitter after the attacks, ISIS reportedly asserted that it would “expel all the unbelievers from the Arabian Peninsula.” ISIS’s threat to Saudi Arabia is not new. ISIS declared its intent to attack both Saudi Arabia and Yemen in late 2014. Over the course of this year, I SIS has escalated its activities in both countries in order to increase regional disorder and undermine the Saudi-led Arab coalition. Today’s two attacks were possibly coordinated, reflecting an acceleration in an ongoing campaign by ISIS to destabilize Saudi Arabia and gain power in Yemen.

Headline: Yemen Fighters Loyal to Government Take Dhale
Fighters backing Yemen’s exiled government captured a city on the road to the port city of Aden, officials said Tuesday, their first significant victory since a Saudi-led coalition began targeting Shiite rebels in airstrikes. The fighters took Dhale, a significant gain as the city is home to the command center of the 33rd Armored Brigade, the country’s largest army unit that had been loyal to former Yemeni leader Ali Abdullah Saleh. Saleh has backed the Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, in their campaign across Yemen that began in September. Government-allied fighters seized tanks, rocket launchers and ammunition caches from the base at Dhale, some 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Aden, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to journalists. Footage from Dhale aired on the Saudi-funded Al-Arabiya satellite news network showed fighters in one armored vehicle flying the flag of once-independent South Yemen.

Headline: Arab forces strike Houthi-held Yemen military port Arab warplanes and ships bombed Yemen’s largest military port in the Red Sea city of Hodaida on Wednesday, a local official said, in the most serious attack on the country’s navy in over two months of war. The city and its military bases are aligned with the Iran-allied Houthi militia, Yemen’s dominant force, which a Saudi-led coalition has bombed since March 26 to try to reverse an expansion of Houthi power across the country in recent months. “The naval base was bombed by aircraft and ships. Large parts of it were destroyed and two warships were hit, and one of them, named Bilqis, was destroyed and sank onto its side, and five gunboats shelled the administrative buildings of the base,” the official told Reuters by telephone from the city. Residents of the Houthi-controlled capital Sanaa reported air strikes on military camps loyal to the group on Wednesday. Houthi forces shelled the southern city of Aden, a bastion of resistance against their advances into Yemen’s south, and local fighters built on gains against the Houthis in recent days by seizing their last military post in the nearby city of Dalea.

Headline: China and Chile sign currency swap agreement
China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Chilean President Michelle Bachelet signed a currency swap deal on Monday seeking to deepen economic ties by boosting trade and investment. The currency swap agreement between Chile’s central bank and the People’s Bank of China eases the exchange of up to 2.2 trillion pesos (about $3.6 billion) for the next three years. China has signed currency swap deals with several countries and has worked with financial centers to develop international hubs for offshore trading of the currency. “We want to strengthen our financial cooperation with Chile during this visit, and we have both signed this swap deal,” the Chinese premier said during his visit to Chile, the last stop in his four-nation tour of South America, which also included Brazil, Colombia and Peru. “I hope the Chinese-Chilean cooperation can allow for services and guarantees that can firmly support our cooperation with all of Latin America.

Headline: The world is drowning in debt, warns Goldman Sachs
Headline: HSBC fears world recession with no lifeboats left
The world is sinking under too much debt and an ageing global population means countries’ debt piles are in danger of growing out of control, the European chief executive of Goldman Sachs Asset Management has warned. Andrew Wilson, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said growing debt piles around the world posed one of the biggest threats to the global economy. “There is too much debt and this represents a risk to economies. Consequently, there is a clear need to generate growth to work that debt off but, as demographics change, new ways of thinking at a policy level are required to do this,” he said. “The demographics in most major economies – including the US, in Europe and Japan – are a major issue – and present us with the question of how we are going to pay down the huge debt burden. With life expectancy increasing rapidly, we no longer have the young, working populations required to sustain a debt-driven economic model in the same way as we’ve managed to do in the past.”

Headline: Chinese navy to focus on ‘open seas’, paper says
Japan will join a major U.S.-Australian military exercise for the first time in a sign of growing security links between the three countries as tensions fester over China’s island building in the South China Sea. While only 40 Japanese officers and soldiers will take part in drills involving 30,000 U.S. and Australian troops in early July, experts said the move showed how Washington wanted to foster cooperation among its security allies in Asia. The Talisman Sabre biennial exercises, to be held in locations around Australia, will encompass maritime operations, amphibious landings, special forces tactics and urban warfare. “I think the U.S. is trying to get its allies to do more,” said Euan Graham, director of the International Security Program at the Lowy Institute in Sydney. “There is an obvious symmetry between Japan as the upper anchor of the Western Pacific alliance and … Australia as the southern anchor.” All three nations have said they were concerned about freedom of movement through the seas and air in the disputed South China Sea, where China is creating seven artificial islands in the Spratly archipelago, a vital shipping corridor. Meanwhile, China is to focus on projecting its military presence beyond its borders at sea, according to a strategy document. The navy will shift its focus to “open seas protection”, rather than “offshore waters defence” alone.

Headline: 2 pastors in Sudan face death over Christian faith
Two Christian pastors from South Sudan who traveled north to Sudan and were arrested on charges of spying could face the death penalty when their trial begins next week, according to their attorneys. Yat Michael Ruot and Peter Yein Reith, both Presbyterian pastors from the breakaway Christian nation of South Sudan, are being held by Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services on charges of undermining the constitution and espionage. Their supporters say their arrest and pending trial is just the latest effort by the militant Islamist government in Khartoum to stamp out Christianity. “I’m fearful that they will execute these pastors for practicing their faith,” said David Curry, CEO of Open Doors USA, a group dedicated to advocating for the victims of Christian persecution. The pair also was charged with “inciting organized groups” and “offending Islamic beliefs,” which call for imprisonment. The trial was set to begin Tuesday, but was postponed to May 31.

Headline: Marine Court-Martialed for Refusing to Remove Bible Verse
A United States Marine was convicted at a court-martial for refusing to remove a Bible verse on her computer – a verse of Scripture the military determined “could easily be seen as contrary to good order and discipline.” The plight of Lance Corporal Monifa Sterling seems unbelievable – a member of the Armed Forces criminally prosecuted for displaying a slightly altered passage of Scripture from the Old Testament: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” Sterling, who represented herself at trial, was convicted February 1, 2014 in a court-martial at Camp Lejune, North Carolina after she refused to obey orders from a staff sergeant to remove the Bible verses from her desk. She was found guilty of failing to go to her appointed place of duty, disrespect toward a superior commissioned officer, and four specifications of disobeying the lawful order of a noncommissioned officer. Both lower court and the appellate court ruled that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act did not apply to her case because displaying a Bible verse does not constitute religious exercise.

On Monday, the Wolf volcano on Isabela Island erupted for the first time in 33 years, spewing fire, smoke and lava. Experts say the eruption poses no risk to people living on the island. The island holds the world’s only population of pink iguanas but authorities say that they are not in immediate danger. The Galapagos National park said that the lava was flowing in a south-westerly direction. The volcano lies on the northern tip of Isabela Island, the archipelago’s largest. It is 115km (70 miles) from Puerto Villamil, the only population centre on the island. “The eruption generated a very large column of smoke that rose more than 10km (six miles) into the air, and later drifted toward the south-west part of the volcano,” Sandro Vaca of Ecuador’s Geophysics Institute told the AFP news agency.

Headline: The battle for Qalamoun- a Timeline
Hezbollah fighters captured more territory in Syria’s Qalamoun mountains Monday, three weeks into an offensive to oust jihadis from the rugged border region, Al-Manar said. The report said Hezbollah fighters captured several highlands northeast of the outskirts of Nahleh along Lebanon’s eastern mountain range shortly before midday. The Hezbollah-run Al-Manar said the advancing fighters destroyed a military vehicle belonging to Nusra Front jihadis, “killing and wounding several militants.” Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah vowed in a speech Sunday night that the Qalamoun offensive would push on until Lebanon’s border is secure. Three Hezbollah fighters were killed fighting in Qalamoun last week, bringing the party’s death toll since the launch of the Qalamoun offensive to at least 16, according to a security source. Meanwhile, clashes broke out between Nusra and ISIS fighters on the outskirts of Arsal, on Lebanon’s northeast border, a rebel source said. The source said the fighting was sparked after ISIS kidnapped Syrian national Ahmad Saifeddine, a Nusra militant.

Headline: Egypt says it has discovered 521 tunnels into Gaza Strip
The Egyptian army says it has destroyed the openings of more than 500 underground tunnels during a six-month military operation on its eastern borders with the Gaza Strip. The spokesperson for Egypt’s army spoke to the state-owned daily al-Ahram in an interview published on Monday, saying that the military has discovered the openings of 521 underground tunnels connecting Egypt with the Gaza Strip. Egypt’s armed forces began a large-scale military crackdown in the restive eastern province of North Sinai last October when a huge and highly co-ordinated militant attack killed more than 30 soldiers. Egypt’s military spokesperson, General Mohammed Samir, said tunnels had been discovered with openings up to 2.8 kilometres from the border. Samir also said authorities had confiscated 6,097 weapons, as well as 2,350 kilogrammes of high explosives. With chaos reigning in Sinai, and reports that locals accused of “collaborating” with the government are frequently executed by powerful militia groups, Egypt’s President Sisi has vowed to do more to stamp out militancy in the area. In the third of a series of monthly televised speeches on 12 May, Sisi promised that the fight against militancy in Sinai will be “comprehensive,” and will extend beyond the current military campaign.

Syria Headline: Blast in Syria pro-government bastion Latakia kills 4
At least four people were killed in a blast in the Syrian government stronghold of Latakia on Monday, but there were conflicting reports about what caused the explosion. It comes amid heightened fears of attacks in the coastal region after a rebel alliance that includes the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front last month seized Jisr al-Shughur in neighboring Idlib province. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and sources on the ground both reported the blast in the city of Latakia in the coastal province of the same name. An AFP correspondent in the city saw flames and a column of smoke rising after hearing what appeared to be an explosion in the Mar Taqla neighborhood. At the scene of the blast, residents said those killed were a father and his son and daughter, along with their female neighbor. The explosion set fire to the family’s apartment and partially collapsed the building’s roof. The Britain-based Observatory also reported that the blast had killed four people, among them two children. But there were differing accounts of what caused with the blast, with officials in the city refusing to comment and residents saying the cause was unclear. The Observatory said the blast was the result of a drone that crashed into the city after being hit by a rocket fired from a ship offshore in the Mediterranean.

Headline: SHOCK POLL: 81% Of Al Jazeera Arabic Poll Respondents Support Islamic State
Former UK Chief of Staff Lord Dannatt has called for a ground invasion against Islamic State (ISIS) on Monday, claiming that the cultural and security impact of the group calls for an international armed effort to expand beyond the current airstrike campaign. “The capture and likely destruction of the 2,000-year-old Roman colonnades at Palmyra, Syria, by Islamic State constitutes a potential cultural crime on a gigantic scale,” Dannatt wrote in the Daily Mail. “These majestic ruins represent thousands of years of human civilisation and there is now surely no doubting just how great a threat IS [ISIS – ed.] poses to civilization in the region and beyond.” Dannatt continues that ISIS could spread across Europe and the Middle East, returning to the “height of Islam” and Islamic conquest in Medieval times – and further. “Although the United States might think it enjoys the security of the Atlantic between itself and where ISIS wants to expand, it cannot forget the domestic terrorist threat,” he stated. “In light of this terrifying scenario, how much longer can Britain and the US continue to show such a lack of commitment to defeating ISIS militarily?” Dannatt insists that the airstrike campaign, codenamed Operation Inherent Resolve, has failed so far to prevent ISIS spreading. He proposes an international fighting force of about 5,000 soldiers, and notes that ISIS – unlike the Taliban or other “insurgents,” as he calls them – is using “conventional” military tactics not unlike a regular Army. The force would include “a fully fledged brigade with infantry troops, attack helicopters, artillery, mortars, reconnaissance and surveillance assets,” he adds, noting that a UN Security Council resolution would be necessary to facilitate such a move.

Turkey and the US have agreed in “principle” to provide air protection to Syrian rebels being trained and equipped to fight Islamic State militants, once they enter Syrian territory for battle, Turkey’s foreign minister said. The two countries agreed in February to train and equip up to 15,000 Syrians under the $500m US programme designed to add a credible ground force to an air bombing campaign against the militant group. The program suffered unexplained delays as the US resisted Turkish calls for the force to be also prepared to fight the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad, and the sides tried to reach agreement on who to train. The US has also refused a Turkish proposal for enforcing a safe area and a no-fly zone in Syria, prompting questions on how trained rebels would be protected when they entered the country. “They have to be supported via air,” Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish foreign minister told the pro-government Daily Sabah newspaper in comments published on Monday. “If you do not protect them or provide air support, what is the point?”

Headline: Iranian General Suleimani Blames US For Fall of Ramadi
The US has done “nothing” to help Iraq`s army battle Islamic State (IS) militants in Ramadi, according to a senior Iranian general involved in the fight against the jihadist group. Qassem Suleimani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards` commander of foreign operations, hit out at Washington after Pentagon chief Ashton Carter said Iraqi forces “failed to fight” in Ramadi, which has fallen to IS. “Mr. (Barack) Obama, what is the distance between Ramadi and Al-Asad base where US planes are based?” Suleimani said in a speech late Sunday in the southern province of Kerman carried by state news agency IRNA. How can you be in that country under the pretext of protecting the Iraqis and do nothing? This is no more than being an accomplice in a plot,” said Suleimani. According to media reports, Iran has military advisers in Iraq and Syria and provides financial and military support to the governments of both countries in their battle against Sunni extremists. Iranian media says Suleimani has been active in Iraq, particularly at the end of March when Iran-backed Shi’ite militias helped to recapture the city of Tikrit. In his remarks on Sunday, Carter said that the US-led air campaign against IS, which controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria, was still working. He said Iraqi forces had “showed no will to fight” even though they outnumbered their opponents, leading to Baghdad`s worst defeat in almost a year. But Suleimani argued that the US had “no will to fight Daesh,” using an Arabic acronym for IS. He said the jihadists, who control several oil zones in Iraq and Syria, “export their oil via countries belonging to the international coalition” led by Washington.

Headline: Nato hopes to keep a base in Afghanistan, US general says
Taliban insurgents attacked police checkpoints Sunday in volatile southern Afghanistan, killing at least 10 officers in the ongoing assault, authorities said. Mohammad Ismail Hotaki, the director of Helmand province’s Joint Coordination Office, said that Taliban fighters attacked 10 police checkpoints in the province’s Sangin district. Hotaki said Taliban fighters captured three checkpoints and continued to surge forward in their assault. Hotaki said the violence killed at least 10 officers and wounded 16. Later, Sangin’s deputy police chief, Haji Bari, said authorities recovered the corpses of at least 13 slain police officers, while 15 had been wounded. Such contradictory casualty figures are common amid an ongoing attack. “We are in control of 80 percent of the checkpoints and are currently fighting with Taliban at two checkpoints,” Bari said. “The Taliban numbers are high and they are attacking with full force. This level of force shows they are in a strong position to fight back.”

Headline: Sudanese Government Denies Supporting Rebels in South Sudan
The Sudanese government denied on Monday it was supporting rebels in South Sudan after it accused Khartoum of supplying arms to the insurgents threatening its oil fields. Sudanese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ali al-Sadiq told the official SUNA news agency that his country has “no interest in such an intervention.” He said instability in South Sudan would send more refugees into Sudan and create of hotspots along its border. South Sudan military officials have alleged that Khartoum provides weapons and ammunition to a defected army leader in its Upper Nile state. Rebels are threatening South Sudan’s remaining functional oil fields. South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in 2011 after the region was engulfed in years of bloody civil war with Sudanese government troops. Also Monday, the country’s journalists’ union said that authorities had confiscated at least 14 newspapers without giving any notice or justification. In a statement protesting the move against press freedom, it said that four of the papers were ordered shut down entirely. A similar incident occurred last February, when 14 daily newspapers were confiscated in a single day. The union said it would be following the case and urging authorities to rescind the order.

Headline: Libyan government warplanes attack ship near port: officials
Warplanes from Libya’s official government attacked an oil tanker docked outside the city of Sirte on Sunday, wounding three people and setting the ship on fire, officials said. It was the third confirmed strike by the internationally recognized government on oil tankers, part of a conflict between competing administrations and parliaments allied to armed factions fighting for control of the country four years after the ousting of Muammar Gaddafi. The recognized premier Abdullah al-Thinni has been working out of the east since losing the capital Tripoli in August last year to a rival faction. Both sides have been attacking each other with warplanes and thanks to loose alliances with former anti-Gaddafi rebels have also been fighting on several fronts on the land. “Our jets warned an unflagged ship off Sirte city, but it ignored the warning,” the eastern air force commander Saqer al-Joroushi told Reuters. “We gave it a chance to evaluate the situation, then our fighting jets attacked the ship because it was unloading fighters and weapons,” he added. “The ship now is on fire. We are in war and we do not accept any security breaches, whether by land, air or sea,” Jourushi added.

Headline: Police arrest 71 during protests after Cleveland officer’s acquittal
Police in riot gear made 71 arrests Saturday as protesters stormed the streets of Cleveland after a judge found a white city police officer not guilty in the deaths of two unarmed black suspects killed in a barrage of police gunfire. The protesters gathered in downtown Cleveland and west side neighborhoods after the acquittal of patrolmen Michael Brelo. In a news conference Sunday morning, Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said people were arrested after a day of mostly peaceful protests turned more aggressive. Officials said some protesters became violent and turned on bystanders, including some who pepper-sprayed patrons sitting at outdoor cafes downtown. Williams said that another protester threw a restaurant sign at a patron, striking him in the head. He says bystanders were also accosted in at least one other instance.

Boko Haram fighters have hacked to death 10 people in a remote village in northeastern Nigeria. The attack happened in the early hours of Friday as residents were sleeping, officials say. Local government chairman Maina Ularumu said the rebels used machetes. News of the attack only emerged on Monday because of the remote location of the village in northern Adamawa state, and communications difficulties. The attack is the latest by Boko Haram in the region, which was declared “clear” of insurgents in March by the military. A number of villages in the area have been hit as troops try to flush out militants from their Sambisa Forest stronghold, just across the border in neighbouring Borno state. Soldiers have in recent weeks rescued hundreds of women and children from the forest after they were kidnapped during raids. On Sunday, 31 people – most children under 12 – who were freed last week were brought to the Malkohi camp outside the northeastern city of Yola, relief officials said. On Monday, defence spokesman Chris Olukolade said troops had thwarted an attack on Mafa, 50 kilometres east of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri. About 30 Boko Haram fighters were killed and “many others” wounded, he added.

Headline: Burundi Protests Continue as US, UN Urge Peace Talks
Police and anti-government protesters clashed again Monday in Burundi as the United States and United Nations urged all parties to get back to peace talks. The opposition quit the talks after the leader of the UPD party, Zedi Feruzi, and his bodyguard were killed in a shooting in Bujumbura on Saturday. The United States condemned the killings and urged Burundian authorities to arrest the perpetrators and protect other politicians. At least one demonstrator in the capital, Bujumbura, was wounded Monday when police opened fire. The French news agency reports police also shot dead a protester in the town of Muyange, 60 kilometers to the south. The Burundi crisis began last month when President Pierre Nkurunziza announced he will run for a controversial third term. The United States has also called for authorities to lift a ban on further protests, allow independent radio stations to resume broadcasting and stop using the term “insurgents” to refer to peaceful protesters. An opposition leader, Frederick Bamvuginyumvira, said Sunday that his party can no longer hold talks with the government.

Headline: Yemeni Politicians Say UN Peace Talks Indefinitely Postponed
A United Nations-sponsored Yemeni peace conference that was to start Thursday in Geneva has been indefinitely postponed, officials said, as battles raged across the country. The talks were meant to end weeks of heavy fighting and Saudi-led airstrikes against an Iran-backed rebel group amid a humanitarian crisis that has left millions in the Arab world’s poorest country short of food and fuel. Three officials from the Houthi, socialist and unionist parties said late Sunday they were notified the talks had been postponed and that no new date had been set. All the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to journalists. A U.N. official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and therefore also spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the talks would be postponed. The setback came as Saudi-led warplanes on Monday pounded Shiite Houthi rebel positions in the capital and across the country. Heavy fighting continued in the city of Dhale, where witnesses and military officials said that fighters loyal to the exiled president managed to seize several military sites from the rebels, surrounding them in some areas and demanding they surrender. The officials, along with hospital workers, said that dozens were killed and some 70 were wounded. In the city of Taiz, the officials said 13 civilians died and some 200 others were wounded after a truck carrying oil was hit by crossfire and caused a raging fire. They added that in the capital, Sanaa, warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition struck a house owned by Ahmed Saleh, son of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who is allied with the Houthi rebels, leaving it destroyed and in flames. All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief journalists.

Economic collapse Revelation 6:5-6 & Daniel 2:41-43– Decline of the Euro “ When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” (Revelation) “Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” (Daniel 2:41-43)
Headline: Greece to miss IMF payments amid fears of ‘catastrophic’ eurozone rupture
Greece will be unable to find the €1.6bn (£1.1bn) sum it is due to hand the International Monetary Fund (IMF) next month, one of the country’s ministers has admitted. Nikos Voutsis, the Greek minister of the interior, said that “this money will not be given and is not there to be given”, speaking on Mega TV. The Greek state is due to hand over the money in four installments in June, as part of its obligations for its 2011 bail-out. Mr Voutsis’ comments came as Yanis Varoufakis, the Greek finance minister, told The Andrew Marr Show that if progress was not made, it would be the beginning of the end for the euro project. The finance minister said that the Syriza-led Greek government has now “made enormous strides at reaching a deal”, and that it is now up to the ECB, IMF and EU “to do their bit” and “meet us one-quarter of the way”. One possible alternative if talks do not progress is that Greece would leave the common currency and return to the drachma. This would be “catastrophic”, Mr Varoufakis warned, and not just for Greece itself. “It would be a disaster for everyone involved, it would be a disaster primarily for the Greek social economy, but it would also be the beginning of the end for the common currency project in Europe,” he said.

The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.” ( Revelation 7: 16) “For behold, the day is coming,Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch” (Malachi 4:1) Prophecy Sign: Drought Jeremiah 50:38 & Isaiah 42:15 “A drought is against her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is the land of carved images, And they are insane with their idols.” (Jeremiah)“I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.”(Isaiah)
Headline: Heat wave: Death toll crosses 551 in Andhra Pradesh, 213 in Telangana
The death toll from a severe heat wave rose to 551 in Andhra Pradesh and 213 in Telangana on Monday as the meteorological office predicted similar conditions for the next two weeks. 25 deaths were reported in Srikakulam, 61 in Vizianagaram, 90 in East Godavari, 3 in West Godavari, 36 in Krishna, 104 in Guntur districts of the state. Hospitals in both the states have been inundated with patients suffering from sun stroke and dehydration from the intense heat reaching up to 47 degrees Celsius. Frequent power cuts and reduced water supply at one hospital in Visakhapatnam exacerbated the situation and some complained that fans in the hospital were not functioning. “My brother Kishore is admitted here. He suffered sun stroke while going to work yesterday morning. His condition became serious. People said that the temperature touched 45 degree Celsius yesterday. It was extremely hot. I have never experienced such intense heat in Vizag before. The government needs to take precautions to help people in this situation,” caretaker Rajesh said. Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials in Hyderabad said that despite some rain predicted, the acute heat could continue for the next two weeks.

Headline: Twister kills 10 in Mexico; 12 missing in Central Texas flooding
A tornado ripped through a city on the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday, killing at least 10 people as first responders in Central Texas searched for a dozen people believed to be missing after the vacation home they were staying in was swept away in torrential flooding. The Texas cities of San Marcos and Wimberley suffered extensive damage as severe storms displaced more than 2,000 residents throughout the state, leaving 12 missing in Hays County. The search for the missing came as the Mexican city of Ciudad Acuna was devastated by a twister at daybreak Monday. Officials in Mexico said at least 10 were killed in the tornado, the Associated Press reported. The city, population 100,000, is across the border from Del Rio, Texas. The grim toll comes as a line of storms this weekend have wreaked havoc from the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes.

Headline: New Zealand hit by biggest storm on Earth
A storm blasting Antarctic weather over New Zealand is currently the biggest storm on earth according to WeatherWatch. The low stretches from just south of Fiji to Antarctica’s ice shelf, but only 20 per cent of the storm is affecting New Zealand. WeatherWatch.co.nz said the forecast air pressure at its centre over the next 24 hours would be greater than that of Hurricane Katrina when it made landfall in 2005. “The depth of this storm south of New Zealand is up there with some of the biggest hurricanes we’ve seen. It’s a really big storm.” However, WeatherWatch.co.nz said only the storm’s edges were affecting New Zealand – its centre lay around 1000 to 1500kms to our south east. Southland, Otago and Banks Peninsula woke this morning to the heaviest dumping of snow so far this year. Overnight, areas of Central Otago and Southland saw up to 30 cm of snow, according to Metservice.
